I trained with Liz at The Den Dance Studio for three weeks, and she is truly an outstanding dance teacher. She always listened to my needs, prepared for each private lesson, and kept surprising me with great challenges. Liz was consistently friendly and in a good mood – training with her was a real pleasure.

One star off for the studio facilities: the floors in the two smaller rooms are damaged in several places and pose a risk of injury, especially for styles like jazz or ballet. They were also often quite dirty, which made floor exercises unpleasant. With little effort, these issues could easily be fixed.

From the outside, it also seems that ballroom dancing is prioritised, while other dance styles get a bit less attention.

My son is excited to start his private lessons with Nandi after a really positive experience in the introductory session. They hit it off great so we signed up for a membership (which actually includes two people.)

The plans have a pricing structure that makes sense and is a reasonable cost, especially compared to what I paid prior with a traditional youth studio for just him. I’m not a “dance mom” but my teenage son and I both love dance…. and we've both had our fill of youth oriented studios for various reasons. Found this place based on local reviews since I used to dance and I wanted to get back into it for fun. Tried a $25 “dance class” tonight. My instructor X was great!!! Great personality and seems like a great dance instructor-has much impressive dance experience! However, very disappointed that first timers only get to learn a few fragments of dances and it’s not a whole routine. I am in my mid-20’s and was just looking to try a fun local hip hop class near me, but sadly it wasn’t what I expected. After the half hour one on one of doing little fragments of dance, they push the membership. Seems like this place is just for those who truly want to work on their technique not just dance classes.

I took Emiliana’s one on one shuffling class since I’ve been really wanting to get back into some sort of dance and try shuffling out! Emiliana was so warm and welcoming and despite some of the moves being a little challenging since I’ve never shuffled before, she still made it a super enjoyable experience and I felt like I was actually getting them down. Only downfall for the studio policy was that they do not accept drop ins so it’s on a membership based only system, the memberships definitely seem to be a fair value for what you get with them so signing up for one isn’t out of the question for me because I did really enjoy my experience!

I wanted to put this up so no one ends up wasting their time like I did/making the same mistake. As a quick background I am a student and so I have a tighter budget. I am also at a medical program which means I don't have much time. With this in mind, I saw online there was a $25 intro class. I figured hey, doesn't hurt to try, just $25 (keeping in mind it doesn't say how long the class was, my bad for not checking). But so I call them beforehand right and I'm like hey, I'm interested in your classes and I just wanted to check how much this costs before I do the trial. This should have been my first red flag, but they refused to tell me the prices on the phone. I asked about three times, but kept being met with the answer "it's better for you to come in and do the trial to see all our studio has to offer". I then explained how I am a student and would like an idea of price because I have a tight budget. To this they responded "we have flexible pricing for college students" (although they still didn't name any actual prices) so I thought ok, cool, I'll give it a try. In short, I showed up to my lesson, lesson started late because instructor was talking with previous class. We then go through the lesson, at which point I learn the $25 trial is only good for a 30 min lesson because the other 15 mins that would normally be part of the usual 45 mins would be spent talking about membership options. I unfortunately didn't even get the full 30 minutes due to starting late. The lesson itself was ok, I've definitely had better dance instructors, but that's ok, that's what the trial is for. Anyways, after the lesson we get talking about memberships (and btw, they have a specific room where they just talk about memberships, pricing isn't discussed anywhere else kind, of like pushy gym subscription vibes. Should have been my other red flag), and it turns out all the prices were way unaffordable for me. The standard was like $250-$275 a month and wanted a 6 month commitment. The "cheaper" plan I guess referring to the "flexible college pricing" they mentioned wasn't lower than $160-170 again with a few months of commitment. And if that is what they want to charge for their service that is totally ok, I understand dance can be expensive. I just don't appreciate my time being wasted like that when I don't have a whole lot of it. I hope they increase their transparency in the future and drop the sneaky gym subscription vibes

Today was my first time ever in a dance studio! I’m a self taught hula hooper who was stumped in their progression, until today after I had my first intro session to hula hoop dance with the lovely Angela! Angela was extremely welcoming, positive & challenged me in re-learning some of the proper techniques in hula hooping while also incorporating body movement. I was super pleased with my first ever experience at the Dance Den and look forward to rejoining them soon. I am incredibly happy that I decided to join Dance Den. About 1-2 years ago, I scheduled my first session but ended up canceling because I was too nervous. I've never danced, lack rhythm, have stage fright, and worry about what people think of me—pretty much all the things! However, I met Melody through friends, and we became close. I decided to give Dance Den a try because I felt comfortable with her.

My goals here are to learn various dance styles, gain confidence, and feel comfortable dancing in public. I saw shuffling on TikTok and thought it looked amazing, so I decided to start with that. That’s when I met Maria, my shuffling teacher. She is absolutely incredible! She’s patient and meets you where you are in your dance journey. Maria takes you through the steps one by one and knows exactly how to help if you're struggling with a move.

Though I was initially nervous, Maria has helped me learn so much in just over a month. I’m excited to continue my one-on-one sessions with her. The group classes are also a blast—everyone is so friendly, and it's clear that they all love having her as an instructor.

In my 35 years, I’ve never had any sort of professional dancing instruction, and I definitely wasn’t born with a rhythmic bone in my body… but having Daphne teach me a one-on-one salsa session with super stress-free and she broke it down Barney style so I can easily understand the foot work. The Dance Den is a welcoming, judgement free place. Everyone is so kind! My introductory instructor was Desire, and we learned Seven by Jungkook <3! She went as slow as I needed to and had a range of teaching methods to help me grasp the choreo. With a variety of different dance style classes available, the sky's the limit. After 29 years I wanted to find a place where dancing was more geared towards fun than competition and start dancing again. I was introduced to Kristen with whom I had fun dancing the new rhythm style. She knew exactly what I was looking for and I had an amazing time. The way she teaches is easy to follow and pick up. You can feel that she loves what she does. Time flew by really fast. I didn’t know how much I missed dancing after 29 years. They have the amazing option that you can follow any dance style you want for one basic cheap subscription compared to other places. As a person whom has never danced before, I had a wonderful experience at Dance Den with Kahdre as my instructor. His instruction was very clear and welcoming for a complete beginner. All of the staff are very friendly and try to make you feel at home no matter what your skill level. I am now heavily considering the one-on-one coaching program with Dance Den, which is something that I wasn't considering doing before. This is the kind of place that I would like to learn in and become a part of the community. Speaking of community, it is very apparent that community is a big part of Dance Den and making new friends whom support each other.

Just moving into the area, making some life changes, I have always loved dancing in lessons as a child and a few ballroom classes in college. The payment structure is a little different more based on months. During your first lesson they evaluate your skill level and discuss your goals in taking lessons then present options to you. I love the friendly judgement free atmosphere. Even in group lessons the other students are friendly and aim to help and teach. My private coach is Kahdre he is very talented and patient teacher. Many if not all of their teachers have amazing credentials. I am glad I decided to join Dance Den it is great for meeting people, don't need to come with a partner, and they meet you at whatever level you are at. They understand trying new things can be hard and are very supportive while you learn!

I called at the time they said they were open for business, however, no one answered the phone. A few hours later after I called again, I received an immediate text message and was told that they have someone on the phones at 4pm and that I would receive a call back at 4pm from Vanessa. I received a call back at around 5:30pm and was told you have to be a member in order to take a group class, which is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing in my entire dance life! I’m use to going to a dance studio and doing a drop in class to feel the atmosphere for further interest in consistently going to these classes. I was then told that I would need a one on one. For what, I don’t know. I was looking for group classes for contemporary/modern group classes and even specified that a friend of mine was also interested and we both have years experience of dance. I was told that my friend would have to call on her own and schedule her own one on one, which I never said I was interested in. The site advertised classes at $25 and $15. I was told that the $15 are for members and $25 is for non members. The website DOES NOT state anywhere you have to be a member to dance in a group setting. I’m glad I called and spoke to someone before driving all the way over here, to get turned away because I’m not a member. I say all this to say, this is a business and just like you advertise being flexible with people’s schedule, you should have an open floor for creative dancers to come and commune. All I wanted to do was take up space and dance for an outlet and the joy I feel when I dance. I was so excited today when I seen a video of the group dancing from the google reviews and immediately called my friend and said I HAVE FINALLY FOUND A STUDIO WE CAN GO TO THAT LOOKS LIKE THEY MATCH OUR FLY only to be disappointed and fed up with there not being enough artistic creatives that love what they do.

“I’m not one to write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that it will serve as constructive feedback for this company to improve their service for future customers. As a newcomer to Tampa, I’ve been through a challenging year due to health issues. However, with my health improving, I eagerly decided to give dance another try and chose Dance Den based on their positive online reviews and variety of dance styles.

Regrettably, my expectations were shattered. From the very beginning, I encountered disappointment that I cannot emphasize enough. The first appointment I booked was abruptly canceled just three hours before my class. They sent me a text explaining that the instructor encountered some issues and needed to reschedule. Understanding that unforeseen circumstances arise, I decided to give them another chance and reschedule.

To my dismay, the same scenario unfolded on the second attempt. Two hours before my class, I received another text, informing me that my session had been canceled because the instructor had mistakenly arrived earlier than the appointment scheduled by their own office. This series of incidents left me feeling completely disheartened. I couldn’t help but wonder if the company lacked proper coordination among their instructors or simply lacked interest in having me as a student.

The unprofessional manner in which this was handled has left me with a negative impression of the company. I sincerely hope they come across this review as constructive criticism. Dancing has always been my passion, and it saddens me to say that they have lost the opportunity to have a dedicated and loyal customer in me.”

I went to a line dance social at the Dance Den yesterday hosted by Lynda Licht. What a nice place to dance. They have a beautiful floating floor, large rooms, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. If you would like to learn to line dance or learn how to do any other dances from hip hop to ballet, I would suggest that you check this place out. We were line dancing in one room and in the adjoining room there was a couple practicing their wedding dances. Thank you for a beautiful place to share a fun day with my friends.
