Watch out for the upcharge! The price your told on the phone will go up when you arrive. This course is not worth the price.The box was was horrible, and the greens are full of sand. Doesn’t seem to be very well maintained. When I brought this to the attention of the pro shop, they said “ well we’ve had some people call out sick so it’s due to that”. So I guess when an employee calls out sick you just let the course go until they come back.🙄. 2 trips in one. 1st & last.

The course is in very bad condition, the greens are full of weeds and when you putt the ball will bounce numerous times going toward the hole, the tee boxes need to be mowed cause you can hardly tell where they are located, we were very DISAPPOINTED and will not return

I went to this course after signing up for youth on course program which allows $5 per play. I called the course and spoke with the manager who confirmed $5 per play, no other fees, good to go. I called one week later and spoke to the same guy the day I was planning to drive out, same thing, $5 per play and no other fees or cart fees. I went to the course and he tells me the player needs a polo golf shirt and it’s $10 in addition to the $5 fee. I have heard from other golfers that this club low balls you online or over the phone then up charge once your are there. The course is not very difficult and not well maintained.

I recently played a round at the links of spruce Creek. I was impressed by the condition of the greens. They were soft and the putts rolled true. I understand there is a new superintendent of maintenance, great job over seeding. I have played a lot of golf in central Florida, by far the best greens around so far. The person who mowed the greens on March 1st or so definitely needs more training as the collars were scalped from not picking the blades up soon enough! All in all nice course I'll be back.

Visited here a week ago. The greens are one of the worst I have played on for the price of a round. They were like putting on carpet. Did not roll true whatsoever. You would have to hammer a long putt and then watch it stop like someone put the brakes on. Layout is good but this course needs some serious work for the price they charge to play a round.

Just finished a round. Every green is punched and full of sand. Fairways are terrible. On hole 18 the Ranger/starter decides to hold a conversation with a single golfer we let pass, right in the middle of the fairway on 18. We stood at the tee box hollering but were ignored. I told the man in the pro shop afterward and he just laughed and said the guys name is Rick and said he hoped we came back. Of course I said absolutely not. Don’t waste your money here. It’s a dump and the employees don’t care.

Called to schedule a tee time for me and 2 friends. The lady that answered the phone was extremely rude when I asked if one of my friends could ride along because he doesn’t play golf. I asked how much the ride along fee is and she cut me off and got very loud and rude and said, “absolutely not, I will not give you 2 carts, not going to happen, we are wayyyyy to busy.” She didn’t have to get loud and rude with me, I have never heard of a golf course not allowing someone to ride along for an additional fee. I will not be going to this course due to how rude they are over the phone. That lady doesn’t need to be working there if she’s that angry.

I played The Links course on March10th. Fairways and greens were in good condition. Most tee boxes had little or no grass. The greens were a highlight of the round. They were smooth and very fast but fair pin placements. The layout was good except for holes 17 and 18 in my view. On both holes there are deep depressions on that make the fairway almost impossible to hit. On both of holes I hit a good straight ball down the fairway but couldn't find either one of them. I assume they rolled into one of those depressions. Disappointing.

This is not a review of the golf course. It has pluses and minuses. I note the customer experience and support there is awful. Beware booking online. The booking fee is non refundable. Not mentioned anywhere in their terms and conditions. You only know this if you cancel. Spruce Creek’s staff were less than helpful in providing a refund upon cancellation which was more than 24 hrs in advance. Worst customer experience I’ve ever received in 50 years of golf.

Price is right. The holes are fun and have a good variety. The greens were in excellent condition. One of the workers, Ryan, tagged along after he was done working. That guy was a blast to play with and really a nice guy. I will definitely play this course everytime I visit the area.

I am a Hampton employee and I've played many Hampton golf courses.. the members really take care of this place. I don't want to get into specifics but this place is better than many places I played over the last couple months. The staff is amazing the starter hey Mike was an incredible experience and itself. I highly recommend a visit.

Course is in great shape. Not difficult to play. Grass in the fairways is very good. Nice layout. Had lots of fun. We play here with Baytree Monday Golfers on a recurring basis. Carts run well, also. They have friction brakes - no need to fuss with that traditional foot pedal lock.

Played 10/26/2022. Most tee areas were very rough with no grass. At least half of the greens were covered in sand and the other half had bare spot with sand on them. Fairways were so/so, with lots of bare spots. would not recommend playing here at al. Supposedly had changed hands a couple of years ago but no improvements have been made. Very disappointing.

Having read many older reviews, I would update the course condition to better than good. Fairways are very good. Most tee areas are fine. (Gold tees seem to get the most play). Several greens are showing bare spots and heat stress on the edges. Can't say I enjoy playing out of the Bermuda rough. Try to avoid it! 😁

OMG, Had 11:45 tee time did not get off until 1:00pm. This due to 8am shotgun start and tee times for regular players starting at 11am. Way to early for regular players. Several greens and most tees in poor condition. Fairways were in mostly good condition. We will not return until they get real about tee time assignment issues. As long as they have 8AM shotgun start no regular tee time should be done before 12:15.

We had a 1:45 tee time for 18 holes. We were only able to complete 15 holes due to a required cart return time of 5:30, which was only made known to us at 4:30. There was a very slow group of 2-3 foursomes which caused us to wait 5 minutes on each hole, which the ranger did nothing about. It took us 2.5 hours to complete the first nine. The card states an expectation of 4 hours per round. Apparently, this is only a suggestion. When we turned in our cart and went back to the parking lot, a foursome was just finishing. I asked if they had just come from hole 18, to which they answered "yes." I asked what was their tee time, they responded "12:50". My point in this rant is that if this is a normal situation, then it is dishonest for the owners to accept tee times (this time of year) any later than 1:00, unless there is notification at the time of requesting the tee time, that it is unlikely to be able to finish.

Golf course is in pretty good shape. Much better than previous years. But the starter staff are rude to younger golfers. Not sure why but this “young buck” doesn’t appreciate being talked down to.
All in all, great golf, but the starter staff left a nasty taste in my mouth. Decent for the price but being in the villages area, there’s much more choices of courses that are in better shape for a similar price with a great, friendly, staff.

Was not a Course I would hurry back too. The fairways were in good shape but the majority of the greens had some kind of black algae spots on them. But yet some of the greens were in decent shape. The infrastructure was also very antiquated. Can’t beat the price at $39 bucks but dissapointed at the end of the round at 3:50 pm the restaurant was closed! What?!

Played here a few times when I first moved to Florida. Seemed like a decent layout, good mix of holes. Condition was decent. That was back in the early 2017. Played there after it re-opened and it was border line unplayable. Stopped there one time later on to check out the practice green....The whole course is shot. I see signs about new management and such, but the course has turned into a dump. After working at a private country club in NY I know how difficult it is to take care of a golf course, but you have to try to put out at least a decent condition. Would NEVER go back here unless I heard from a reliable source it was in good shape. Truly a toilet!
Oh and if anyone is waiting for an answer form Hampton Golf - FORGET it. I wrote an entire letter to their email address given and never heard a peep. Find someone you know in The Villages and play some real golf courses

Staff were helpful and restaurant was nice to relax after play. Fairways were mostly fine. But, the greens were the worst I've ever seen anywhere in over 10 years. Some greens resembled dried up mud flats. I played there last spring and the greens were fine. Something ugly happened. I'll wait for some good reviews before I go back. I assume all there mowers are broken. Must have given up on the greens. I Lost a ball IN THE FAIRWAY!!! Drove back and forth 5 times before I found it in the middle. Tee boxes are a wreck. Took seven players here on Monday 4/9/18. It was in the worst shape I've ever seen it in. We were told they did not over seed this year, and boy did it show. The tee boxes and fairways look like a weed field, we were told the greens were great, well they did have grass on them, it needed cut, and probably rolled. I'll have to see some recent positive reviews before I return, no matter what the price.

Priced way too high for a course that has more bare spots than grass. Greens are starting to come back to last year's condition, but, all the greens have weeds on them and especially the fringe which is almost unplayable with weed infestation. Last year at this time the course was packed with golfers. They had to run shotguns three times a week (sometimes twice a day) to keep up with the demand. This year you can walk on almost any time of any day as the horrible conditions continue to drive golfers away. A fare price to charge here would be in the $15 to $25 range depending on the time of day. Rumors continue to rage as recent extensive surveyor activity depicts that at least part of the course will be subdivided for housing development as the land owners are getting tired of the lack of cash flow being generated by the leasee's trying to manage the facility. It is obvious that there is no money available to put this facility back to reasonable playing condition.

Played 2 weeks ago and it was very slow, long wait on each tee. Finally saw a 5some of old fat guys holding up everyone, 4 empty holes a head of them. Spoke to man In office and he said it happens. Played again today and the same thing, same 5some,same results. A few holes later saw another 5some. If you live there you can do what you want. If you don't live there I would suggest you play some place else. We will not go there again.

Am not impressed with this golf course. Purchased a groupon last year for golf and a hot dog. Tried to schedule a tee time and told course was closed for the season. They refused to honor my groupon. When I rescheduled a week ago, the lady would not accept the groupon for its cash value due to the fact I trimmed the groupon after I had printed it out. Fortunately there was a gentleman behind the counter who heard the conversation and accepted the groupon. Later, after playing 9 holes, my partner tried to buy a hot dog. He was told he could not buy one hot dog, he had to buy a meal! He was stunned and so was our group. The course is good, but the management is lacking. Definitely not worth the $45 green fees we were charged.
