Don't book on their website. I booked a tee time on Saturday through their website and prepaid for golf. Looked at the weather and decided not to chance it with the potential storms. I called the Thursday before the tee time to cancel. After not seeing a refund come through I called the course Sunday and was informed prepaid tee time are non-refundable. The course still gets my money and probably backfilled my tee time I had. Quite annoyed and won't be playing here anymore since I'm out $100.

Never been there but I called to asked them a simple question and Steve answers the phone and he answered my question but with bottle to no detail and could barely make out what he said and sounded as if he was annoyed somebody called, and quick to get off the phone, I also had to hold as soon as he picked up

We have had a home base in Ocala for a little over 5 years. Played a lot of the courses both public and private within a couple hour radius of Ocala. My wife and I both love Twisted Oaks. The course is in good shape and the staff is always accommodating. Even on busy days play flows well. This is our go to place now. We feel very comfortable at Twisted Oaks, it's well kept, fairly priced and challenging. Our interaction with the staff and fellow golfers has been excellent.

Twisted Oaks Golf Club is a fun challenging golf course with tight fairways and well maintained. Even after the cold autumn weather and numerous near freezing nights so far, tee boxes good, fairways green and well kept, and consistent greens in great shape. Roughs were brown, which is seasonally normal, however freshly cut, and very playable and fair. Worth the fees!!

The course is always in pretty decent shape. My biggest complaint seems to be something that seems to be ongoing, every time I play this course, the practice green either plays way faster or way slower than the rest of the greens. Today the practice green played very fast, and the other greens played way slower on the course. Some greens played a little slower or slightly faster than others which I can understand is normal for a course like this. But there is no reason they can't cut the practice green the same day they cut the rest of the greens. It gives you a false preview of what's to come and it really messes with your head when it was as drastic as it was today. I won't be back until they fix that issue.

Decided to update my review. It's probably been about several months since I played here before, so I decided to give them another try. Originally it was at a two star review because the greens were as I described above, today I would say that all the greens rolled consistently bad. Dead patches all over the place, sand patches on a lot of the greens. If I wanted to pay $37 to play a course like that I would have stayed local and went to point o woods 😂. They should condemn this place if they're going to charge people to play in those conditions

It makes me sad to write this review but after the last few rounds at this course it has to be done. I have played this course most of my adult life and I am disgusted with what is happening here. The greenskeeper here should be ashamed of themselves and should quit immediately. In the last year the conditions of this place have spiraled out of control. This used to be the go to course that was well kept all year round but sadly that is not the case now. My question for the management here is what happened? How can a course that was so well kept decline so rapidly? Today will be the last time I play here unless they figure out how to recover from this. Unfortunate because I used to love this course.

I am attempting new experiences with courses this season in the central west. So far, out of a half dozen or so, Twisted Oaks is at the top of my list. Great shape. Rolling hills. Comfortably challenging.(Most of my approach shots required at least a middle iron.) The par 5s were almost reachable. (Fun!) The rye greens are true, but needed cut. Would've been a treat if they had been. Perhaps my timing was bad. Anyway, I'll look forward to my return! Nice job staff!

My golf buddies and I travel from CT every January for a long golf weekend to play 3-4 courses near our accommodations in Inverness. We have played over 10-12 courses so far but Twisted Oaks is the only one that is a repeat visit for us. For the price, the course is top notch. The staff is very friendly as well. We enjoy the layout and I especially enjoy the hills and and wilderness surrounding the course.

Update: I'm updating and changing my rating because of the way Tommy handled the situation. He printing this review and made all of his staff read and sign the review, acknowledging that this experience is not acceptable and should never happen. I've been back twice and have experience the A+ customer service I would expect from any golf course. I appreciate Tommy holding his staff accountable, and appreciate more that I haven't had a similar experience since.

The course here is amazing. Great greens, affordable, and fun course. If this rating was for the course alone, I would give it 4.5/5 stars.

The reason why I give it 3/5 is the customer service. I showed up 10 minutes BEFORE my tee time (which I understand I should be there 15+ minutes before) but everyone, from the pro shop to the starter was giving our group an attitude and telling us to hurry up because we were late. We even went up to the starter and said good morning, and his response was “get to the tee, let’s go, you guys are late.”

I later called back to ask some questions for future rounds, and whoever answered was rude, seemed very inconvenienced by my call, and hung up as soon as I said that was all my questions.

I’ve experienced far better customer service at much worse golf courses. For a game that is centered around honor and etiquette, the staff here are quite the opposite.

Played September 15 2022 for the first time ever while vacationing in the area. From the First phone call to book Tee time to after I returned cart every staff member was friendly and helpfull.
The course was in better condition than expected for the time of year.
Lay out is Spectacular. The par threes are long and played longer with the wind direction that day.
I struggled to read the greens but thats on me because i dont play in florda often, im from Ohio.
If your looking for a quality course to play this is it.

One of my favorite courses. It is in fantastic shape right now. Best I have seen the greens. Rolling really well.
Only downside is a developer has leveled all of the trees on the ridge in the center of the course to built a blivott of houses. Oh well. Still a fun place to play and staff is really freindly and accomodating.

I really like this golf ⛳course. I am a low handicap golfer that appreciates the layout and condition of the golf course and this one delivers. The greens are fast and the course is fair and playable. You can tell a lot about a golf course by the condition of the bunkers and these are well placed and manicured. A very good Florida course in average shape for this time of year. The only crevet is the land being cleared for new homes on the course. With May wind conditions it was like playing in a dust bowel most of the round. This should all settle down with the rainy season starting in June. Very friendly staff in the golf shop and restaurant.

I have been to most courses in Hernando, Citrus and several other surrounding counties and this ranks in the top 3. Phenomenal place to spend the day playing golf. I honestly cannot believe it only cost me $35. If you get the chance to play here you will not regret it.

First of all we enjoyed the golf course. We appreciated the layout of the course, uphill, downhill, doglegs, etc. I particularly enjoyed the course being that it was not exceptionally narrow. It was a little more open than a lot of courses that I played not in The Villages. We could not accurately judge the golf course today due to the condition of the greens. Usually when one tees off early in the morning we are accustomed to the greens being slow due to the dew on them. But because it was overcast all day and humid the greens never dried out even through 18 holes. They were a bit slower than we expected but I figure after they dryed out they probably were very nice.

I like Twisted Oaks. It's awonderful layout with some elevation changes and blind shots. You need to play it twice. The greens were mediocre. My complaint lies in the fact I don't like to get paired with strangers when the course isn't crowded. If you're a foursome buddy group type player this is your course. If you are a low single digit handicap non-social golfer who wants to test their skill on a good course and don't like to play with strangers it leaves something to be desired.
