Had a lot of fun dropping in on a silks class at Vertifit in Ormond, during my cross country road trip. For all of my friends in the Daytona area who have been asking me about my journey in aerial arts, I highly recommend you go take classes with Barrie! My granddaughter has been active in a Silk class almost two years and just recently added Lyra to her training. She looks forward to attending these classes weekly and has participated in showcases. Her confidence and skills have greatly improved since starting here. Coach Barrie promotes a safe and non-competitive environment and genuinely cares about her students. The girls have formed lasting friendships and enjoy being around each other. Coach Barrie doesn’t just instruct on the skills to perform the tricks; she actively participates and demonstrates and ensures the student has mastered the necessary skill before moving on to harder ones. VertiFit is an amazing training facility in Ormond Beach for Aerial Arts and Flow Arts. The students performed Candycane Lane and transformed the facility into a theatre for the evening. I could not take my eyes off of them as the cast of twenty performed on different aparatus, some of which I have never seen before. The lighting, the sound, and the performers were all on point. The owner of Verti-Fit, and instructor, Barrie Michaels, is a gifted teacher and coach. I give my highest recommendation to VertiFit.

While in town visiting for a week, I was looking for a place to continue my practice in Lyra hoop while in vacation. I was able to book a private lesson and group class no problem. Vertifit hosted my daughter’s 25th birthday. My daughter is very athletic and likes to try new things so we planned this for her and some of her girlfriends. My son even joined us and participated! If you care about your child’s mental well being you would avoid this establishment like the plague… the instructor acts and talks to the students as if this was “dance moms” . Gossips about students with other students, as well as plays favorites. A coach is supposed to uplift, build and mold their students. Not tear them down, pit them against one another , ect…
The girls want her approval and acceptance as well as love to do aerials , so they deal with it … but they shouldn’t have to . Again if you care about your child’s mental well being, you will find an instructor that not only loves what they do but the students under their tutelage .

I have been attending class for quite some time now. I love all of my teammates so much and I am sad to leave. However, the coach has singled me and my mother out the entire time we have been attending. She plays favorites and doesn’t hide it at all. During class and rehearsal she’s not interested in me at all and gives me almost zero attention unless I beg for it. I live 30 minutes away and my mother would drive every Wednesday, plus more days for the show, and she would always look at my routine last. I would have to stay late for 1-2 hours extra every time without fail. And it’s not that I have a problem with that, this is something I want to do professionally but she’s completely stripped me of my passion. The day before the show I cried the entire way home because I didn’t feel confident in a costume, that I paid for with my own money, that also did not fit me. I will be moving on to a different, better studio.

My daughter, 10 years old, has just started taking classes at VertiFit with coach Barri and we recently had the pleasure of attending the aerial show on 2/29/2024, and we were absolutely blown away! From start to finish, the performers took us on a breathtaking journey through the skies that left me us in awe.

My daughter has been taking aerial classes with Ms. Barrie for almost a year now and I truly couldn't be more proud of her... Ms. Barrie is one amazing coach, she really is.. They just had their February show on the 29th and it was my daughters first aerial show...and truly there are no words for how beautiful it was. I was totally blown away... as soon as the curtains opened, I just couldn't believe it! She looked so beautiful and the whole place was transformed! My husband cried thru her whole performance.. and he's a man, a manly man.. crying!! As for me, I was a mess the entire show! Well Gosh! What can I say about the owner Ms. Barrie and her incredible aerial and entertainment skills in all forms..🤔. She is truly one the most talented talented and passionate artists/coaches I have ever met. The showcase that she recently put on “ nostalgia” was jaw dropping and just an all around exciting experience!! For ALL ages! My 4.5 and 5.5 year old girls eyes were star struck the whole show. I don’t think I have ever seen them sit for that long willingly! 🤭😂!
My eldest daughter (14) she has never been more dedicated and passionate to anything in all her 14 years until the first class with Barrie and she was HOOKED. She loves theater, singing, dancing, acting, and gymnastics…. but when she would do any of those other things. She would constantly want to miss for friends or whatever else was more fun for kids her age. But NOW she gets mad if we’re even 5 mins late and doesn’t want to leave even after same day back to back classes. And now, if she has friends over she has them come with her and watch her practice. Resulting in more inspired teens and more students for the lovely BarriE at Vertifit.
We drive nearly an hour 1-2 times a week to be at her gym and I’ll be honest, we would drive even farther if we had to. I’m so proud of my daughter for her dedication and without Barrie and the individualized support that she gives her and every student that walks through those doors, she wouldn’t have this outlet. This is something all teens need in my opinion.
Ms. Barrie is the BEST of the Best. Watching her over 40yo bad a$$ self climbing those silks to the top 20+ feet in the air or climbing on top of a adult male students shoulders for floor tricks and teaching these kids and adults of all ages these impossible and beautiful tricks…. It’s truly inspiring.
And here I am 35 years old, mother of 3 girls and just carrying one for 5 minutes makes me wanna take a nap! Lol. She has unknowingly inspired me to want to get back in shape so I can show my teenager that momma also used to fly just like she does.

She also is also always striving to learn more so she can help her students master all the skills you’d see in a cirque performance or at a big concert as entertainers for the biggest named stars in music….. To do that she invites pros of their own unique field to her gym to teach workshops for things like, contortionist, floor acrobatics, balancing and many many more. She doesn’t just sit back and watch the students learn. She is a student in those workshops and wants to master every aspect of that world.
It’s just So much fun for all ages as young as 7 up to any age who’s willing:).;).

My daughter (11) has been taking weekly classes at Vertifit for 9 months, and the progress she has made and the confidence she has gained have been astounding. Barrie is a wonderful coach, with an incredible passion for aerial arts and a clear understanding of her students' abilities. She is supportive and encouraging, and facilitates the students to build on their skills each week while ensuring they gain a proper understanding of the movements and skills before moving on. My daughter has achieved a huge amount in just a few months, mastering skills that she didn't think possible, and gaining physical strength, stamina, and self-confidence in the process.
The studio is a bright, airy, pleasant space to be in, and is spotlessly clean. We are thrilled to have found this studio. My daughter did previously attend (briefly) aerial classes in St Augustine where the instruction was poor and classes did not seem to be run safely, so we were delighted to find that Vertifit is professionally run, safety is paramount, and students are taught at the appropriate level for their abilities.
I would 100% recommend Vertifit - for kids and adults alike. The studio offers fantastic activities and Barrie is an excellent teacher!

I’ve been doing aerial dance for several years and was so excited to go to Verifit Aerial when I was visiting family in town. The instructor/owner, Barrie, was amazing. She was a great teacher who took the time to throughly explain not only how to do each move safely but the physics of it as well. She catered the lesson based on experience and skill level. I attend classes at VertiFit twice a week and have experienced so many benefits over the past year! My lower back and knee joint pain has improved so much from strengthening the surrounding muscle groups that I no longer have to take daily ibuprofen, which I did for years! Best birthday ever! I had my daughters 8th birthday party here, the girls ages ranged from 4 to 10 and all of them were able to participate and have a blast, thanks to the instructors. None of them had any experience with aerial fitness and they all picked it up the first try. The studio is super clean and they accommodate to make the party personal and perfect.

I took my first POI Spinning (Flow Arts) class at VertiFit thinking it would just be something fun to do, and now I'm hooked! Not only is it fun, but it's also a great workout for your upper body, core, legs, and for your brain! Years of too much time on the computer has left me with severe shoulder stiffness. After my first class at VertiFit, my shoulders felt better than they had in years. My massage therapist even remarked that I should keep doing whatever it was I was doing because my shoulders had never been that loose. VertiFit's facility is wonderful, offering training on multiple forms of Aerial Arts and Flow Arts, and the instructors are fabulous. Give it a try - you won't be sorry!

My friends and I attended VertiFit for the first time for their annual "Dreamscape" event. We were so impressed by the presentation and the overall experience! It was my first time trying the aerial silks and I'm so inspired to take an aerial yoga class! I really enjoyed watching the professional silk artists perform and the fire spinner was AMAZING! My daughters go to Verti Fit classes every week and they have learned so much in a little over a year. We are so glad to have this option for this fine art especially in this age of Covid. Coach Barrie keeps everything really clean. She also holds fun events such as the last “Revitalize your Senses” experience. We enjoyed the smell of lavendar, relaxing in the silks with music and projected images, tasty desserts, and awesome entertainment. I highly recommend Verti Fit.

I’ve personally booked a session at Vertifit with some of my girlfriends and had an awesome time but also this summer I enrolled my 9 year old in the summer camp program and what she learned in one week was absolutely phenomenal like my kid suddenly was the Amazing Spider Man. I also like how small the class sizes were so each participant received amazing quality instruction and always had a safe eye watching. 10/10 recommend. Barrie is a encouraging teacher who is very passionate about the aerial arts.

My sister planned a private session of aerial arts with Barrie for my bachelorette party and it was so much fun! It was new for all eight of us which made for an unforgettable experience, one we'll never forget. Barrie provided great instruction and was patient with us as we learned the ropes. We had the best time playing around on the silks all while listening to The Greatest Showman which made it that much better! We love love love the pictures she took at the end. Visiting Daytona from Indiana, wanted to take an aerial class while on vacation. Vertifit stood out to me online because of their aerial cube specifically, as well as having so many different apparatuses! Barrie was more than accommodating, engaging, and all-around lovely!! I signed up for a single private lesson (1 hour) as a birthday gift for myself. I expected to learn how to properly stand on the rope and MAYBE two basic moves. I instead got so much more than expected! I learned about 7 moves on the silks and a short routine that I was able to film and show my friends. The atmosphere was awesome, the workout was fun, and the experience was truly incredible!! I’m so glad I went and I’m already planning on going again.

I hired Vertifit to put on a show for New Year's Eve in the European Village In Palm Coast, FL. Coach Barrie had a very short turn around time from being hired to planning the event to the day of the show. That being said, the performance that she had her entertainers put on was outstanding!!! The entertainers looked beautiful and did such an amazing job; it was absolutely stunning. The contract process with Barrie was professional and also detailed. You knew exactly what performances were going to be taking place for your show. Not only did Barrie deliver 100% of what was contracted, she went above and beyond our contract and added a few more entertainers/performances at no cost to us! This wasn't just a verbal promise, Barrie absolutely did follow through and her entertainers put on more performances than we had contracted for. The ground and aerial performers were extraordinary. If you are looking for something unique, creative and exciting for an event, look no further. Coach Barrie will put together a program that will be sure to entertain and amaze all of your attendees. I was so impressed by the show that I am thinking of taking some classes myself. I will absolutely hire Vertifit again if I have any events in the future that require entertainment. They provide a show that is not your typical run of the mill entertainment, and it's definitely not something that you get to see on a regular basis. You will be pleased with the entire process, from working with Barrie to plan the event, to the day of the show and seeing the entertainers work their magic. We found this gym in March of 2020. My kid has practically lived there ever since. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is absolutely professional, knowledgeable, and caring. The facility is ALWAYS spotless, beautiful, and safety is top priority. It’s a safe home away from home❤️. Even though the apparatuses looked intimidating on the first day, the students were so amazing, helpful, and kind. I just can’t say enough wonderful things about this place!

Vertifit aerial studio is great if you’re trying to learn aerial arts or flow arts at your own pace. It’s a very clean work space environment that is well organized and has plenty of apparatuses to learn from. Barrie is an incredible instructor who takes time with each one of her students individually and really cares to help them grow in all aspects. I’ve been going here for about 11 months now and I have seen a drastic change in my upper body and core strength just by coming once a week (if I can make it for that week). While teaching me aerial, I have traded out with Barrie to help the students learn more about flow arts, such as hula hoop dances, poi routines, and fan flow. Many of the students have loved growing and learning more about these two forms of flow and I’m excited to watch the students and I continue to blossom. Highly recommend coming to this studio if you or your kids are interested in any aerial arts or flow arts :)

I have been attending VertiFit for about four months now. I truly can’t believe how much I’ve learned and improved with coach Berri and the team. I never expected a work out to turn into a hobby. Coach Berri and The team have motivated me and pushed me beyond limits I never would have. This fun class offers various Aerial arts such as Silks, Lyra, hoops, yoga trapeze and much more. VertiFit also participates in local events in the community. I highly recommend all ages try at least one class ...who knows you might get hooked like I did!!!! I’ve been going to Vertifit for over a year. I’m 26 and not like a lot of the younger kids who come to classes, but it has been super rewarding both mentally and physically.
