Going into my 3rd week here at Vital and so far I love it! The coaches are great and really tailor the workouts for you. This is the first time I’ve tried small group workouts since the military, and I was pretty nervous coming in since I am no where in shape as much as I used to be. The atmosphere is very friendly and supportive, as we are all trying to get better. Highly recommend Vital Fitness

I've been to a good number of gyms in the area over the past 7 years or so, both CrossFit style and bro gym style and Vital is absolutely fantastic. Their classes are inclusive from complete novices to veteran lifters. I learn and improve every week from all the coaches. If you're looking for a new gym, I would have no hesitations recommending them.

I'm not a big review guy. I like to let places speak for themselves and if they are good enough, they find their audience and will (probably) do well. Some will argue my thought process…saying, that I'd be gatekeeping. They will say that If I thought something was worth my time and money, that it's worth shouting from the highest point (or ones keyboard...).

Vital, to me, is actually a place that I desire to write a review about. I'll gladly shout from the top of a highest point at how amazing this place is. I'd actually probably be able to REACH said highest point simply because of how this place has helped me shape, not only the physical aspects of my body but the mental aspects as well. In a year of tumultuous change throughout my life, this gym has helped me in ways I couldn't always comprehend nor would I really be able to express.

As much as I am not a big review guy, I am also not a big gym guy. I'm an "active" Dad who works at home. I get most of my steps & exercise walking around the house collecting kid's laundry and general clean up in-between meetings. I play ice hockey, not professionally, once a week. I felt like I was "OK" from a health perspective but it could always be better, right?

Joining Vital sincerely opened my eyes, mind, and heart to the many ways in which I can obtain that healthy lifestyle that I always coveted. The nutrition conversations, the 1-on-1 talks, the numbers chats, all will help you on your path. The community training…which honestly felt very scary early on but catching the random "Hey, you're doing great" or "Good set…" from people I didn’t even know was immensely helpful and fortifying.

I started Vital about a year ago at this point. I am absolutely qualified to write a review and offer an honest opinion of this place. I can state that I've been to other gyms and that I don't know what the "perfect" gym would be, but I can state that this place is as close to it as it can get to being perfect. The trainers, the GM, the other humans that inhabit it are there for you and there to see you reach your goals and exceed them. Like most gyms, you get out of it what you put into it but unlike most gyms, this gym walks alongside you to help you get the most out of your time / effort. You're worth it. Come to Vital.

My son joined me at Vital three years ago, and I can't say enough good things about his experience. The coaches are fantastic and truly invested in helping him succeed. One of the biggest highlights has been his personal training sessions with Josh, which have given him so much confidence in his workouts. Thanks to Josh's guidance, he now feels comfortable working out on his own (and I don't worry about injury from incorrect movements!) at home and at the gym.

The gym has an incredibly supportive and welcoming atmosphere, which has made a huge difference in keeping him motivated and excited about fitness. Whether he’s working out in PT sessions or on his own, I’ve seen tremendous growth in his strength and confidence.

I have been going to Vital Fitness for over a year now and wanted to take this review as an opportunity to explain to anyone who may be on the fence exactly what makes Vital unique.
The easiest way to breakdown what is so special about Vital is that it is like having a gym, a personal trainer and a nutritionist wrapped into one membership.
Vital runs their gym in small group classes. You’re never lost in a crowd, and the trainers pay close attention to your form, providing personal coaching every step of the way.
Their workout programs are customizable, so whether you're a complete beginner (like I was) or an experienced athlete, you’ll find classes tailored to your fitness level. I’ve never felt out of place or overwhelmed when I started and the coaches have been able to push me as I've progressed.
The final piece is Vital's holistic approach to fitness—it’s not just about workouts. The nutrition guidance and in-body scans to track your progress keep me accountable and motivated. For the first time, I actually understand what my body needs to see results and have a nutrition plan tailored to my body and my goals. I have lost 30 pounds since joining Vital and am the strongest I have ever been in my life.
There are other gyms, but I can honestly say there is nothing like Vital Fitness.

Three years ago, I experienced a traumatic accident that left me with broken wrists, arms, and a mild brain injury. Prior to the accident, I was actively engaged in attending classes, participating in various competitions like the Murph and Festivus, and doing drop-ins at CrossFit gyms across different locations including NYC, Anchorage, and Indian reservation areas throughout the US.

Starting over after the accident was incredibly challenging for me. It was a humbling experience but also one of the best decisions I ever made. Due to my injuries, I could no longer participate in regular classes and had to start from scratch with dumbbells. Jeremy Duncan became my personal coach, guiding me through this journey. I quickly realized that despite my previous belief, I wasn't as fit as I thought.

Before each session with my coach, we discuss nutrition, which has been immensely beneficial. I learned to differentiate between actual hunger and other impulses like thirst, boredom, or stress, and to wait 10 minutes before indulging in a snack. Jeremy's techniques helped me shed excess fat and adopt a healthier lifestyle, which gradually became second nature to me over the years.

Every Tuesday at 1:00pm, I would meet with Jeremy for my "wellness day." We started with 5 lb dumbbells due to my limited strength post-injury. With his guidance, I progressed to lifting 40lbs with each wrist. Jeremy corrected my form and technique, highlighting mistakes I didn't even realize I was making, such as not engaging my core or breathing correctly.

The accident affected my memory, making simple tasks like jumping rope frustrating and challenging. Jeremy patiently worked with me, using cones to guide my jumps and helping me overcome mental blocks until I regained my ability to jump rope.

Before the accident, my fitness score was 74, with a weight of 147lbs, 49lbs of fat, and 54lbs of muscle. Now, my fitness score is in the 80s, with a weight of 141lbs, 42lbs of fat, and 55.6lbs of muscle. Working with Jeremy taught me the importance of proper nutrition, accountability for my food choices, and consistent training.

Having experienced a life-altering injury, I initially doubted my ability to return to the gym. Despite being told I would never wear my uniform again, I found strength and resilience with Jeremy's guidance. While my career path shifted, I discovered new opportunities for growth and achievement. With patience and determination, last October, I successfully ran the Detroit Half-Marathon, completing it in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Each week, Jeremy and I discuss my goals and he assigns me homework to work on. I diligently train throughout the week, ensuring I complete the assigned tasks. Jeremy's expertise extends beyond physical training; he can assess my diet and progress accurately. We track our food intake online for accountability.

The gym where Jeremy coaches taught me invaluable lessons. It's not a place to punish oneself but to learn pacing and proper form. Overloading ourselves leads to poor form and instability, while carrying only what we can handle ensures proper technique. I encourage anyone seeking guidance and transformation to join this gym and ask for Jeremy – he's truly exceptional!

I was always so intimidated to get into strength training and was worried about doing movements incorrectly. The coaches take time to teach you and help you learn to how do the movements properly. I might sound like a broken record echoing the other reviews, but Vital Fitness is LEGIT. I cannot speak highly enough about everything that happens inside the walls of VF.
First, I reached out to Vital after seeing all the positive reviews. I received a call from Josh the same day. He asked questions no other coach has ever asked, and it ended up in about a 30-minute conversation. He asked specific questions to get to know me, understand what my goals are, what my lifestyle looks like and how Vital can help support me in my health and fitness journey. My first step was an In-Body scan, followed by a custom nutrition plan. It was my choice to use it or not – no pressure.
I was immediately absorbed into the class with all the members being so friendly and welcoming.
Now to mention the coaching. Vital has BY FAR the best coaching I’ve ever encountered. The level of detail that goes into explaining each movement, how to do it accurately, how to “turn on” muscles, etc. It doesn’t matter if you’ve done it 1000 times or if it’s your first time in a gym, you can learn something from each class.
If you’re not sure if Vital is the right gym for you – just call and start the conversation. Come to one class to get a feel for the community. But be warned: you may never want to leave.

I am very grateful to be in the Vital Fitness Community! Prior to joining I had almost no experience in gyms and was intimidated but all the coaches quickly made me feel at home. It is very encouraging to see people of all ages and capabilities at Vital.
The coaches are very accommodating and work with you individually to figure out what modifications are needed, if necessary. I love the small class sizes, I feel like I get individual attention while being apart of the larger community. Some days I get in a funk and it is difficult to get myself to the gym but I know that Josh and Jeremy want me to do the hardest part: show up. I am always happy that I have showed up for class and leave feeling very refreshed and motivated. If I'm having a bad day I know that going to Vital will give me a second wind and help me set myself up for success for the next day. They are incredibly knowledgable and I feel that I am in safe hands. I can't recommend Vital enough, they have become vital to my mental and physical health and I am very glad to be apart of the community.

Vital has been literally a breath of fresh air! I came to Vital kicking and screaming. I was not in any sort of healthy shape, physically or mentally. The last thing I wanted to do was die of exhaustion in some ridiculous exercise class. I was suffering from back pain, migraines, lack of sleep, and a whole lot of unhealthy habits. The coaches worked with me in classes, in 1-on-1 goal review sessions, and in conversations to get me to where I am today. I’ve been able to change my diet and my exercise thanks to them. In roughly 6 months I have lost about 20 pounds of fat and gained 5 pounds of muscle. I look and feel like a complete 180. I have a lot more to work on and Vital will continue to be the place for me to do it. Thank you!

Vital fitness is hands down the best gym I’ve come across. It has to be one of Lakeland’s best kept secrets. I am a sports focused chiropractic physician with a bachelors degree in exercise science and extensive experience treating sports injuries. Take it from me when I say that the coaches are extremely knowledgeable and humble. They truly care about their members. If you have a previous injury they want to know about it so that they can work with you and help you achieve your fitness goals. They have created a great judgment free environment. This gym has ruined me! I will never be able to go back to going to the gym on my own, nor do I want to. This is the first time I have ever done group workouts in my life (hello, antisocial!), and while I was so apprehensive and a little intimidated at first, the coaches and other members quickly put that all to rest with their friendliness and patience. Every day is a challenge, and I have learned so much. I genuinely enjoy going to the gym now, and I don’t think I could ever go back to doing my own thing, wandering around the gym, trying to figure out what workouts to do, etc. This gym really is worth every penny!

Vital Fitness has the best coaches in Lakeland! If you're looking for a "CrossFit" style gym without the pressure and cult like mentality look no further. The staff is super friendly, courteous, and willing to go out of there way to make you feel like family on the first visit. By the time you sign up to become a member you feel like you've been coming to the gym for years because everyone who is there will know your name. This is the absolute most amazing gym ever! I have Crossfit for years and worked out my entire life and hands down the best gym I’ve ever been a part of.
