No. Just no. Toilet bout fell out the wall when I flushed. The showers & bathrooms are disgusting & unkept/falling apart. Tiles just laying there. Tons of cardio equipment but the room is warm muggy & it smells SO bad. I nearly puked. Literally never coming back. Parking lot is trash too.

This YMCA has a decent amount of things such as a basketball court, tennis court, and cardio machines. It also seems like they have good programs for members. My real complaint is I find the front desk people to be cold. I never get a smile or a welcome, and when I leave I usually get a cold reception when I say βHave a good day.β Not sure what it is, but itβs surprising given this is a YMCA.

Just joined a few months ago and it has totally changed my life! I am home part time with my toddler and was nervous about leaving him in a gym day care, but the staff is so kind and good with him that I am at ease during my work outs. Iβm finally able to have fun and get fit without worry!
The classes are awesome. I am able to have a range of experiences between weightlifting, yoga, dancing and hiit. And the outdoor pool is great for all ages :) we even spend time playing on the playground.. the Williams YMCA has become a home away from home.

The tennis program is amazing. They have lots of opportunities for beginner players (D team and Wednesday clinics) up to advanced players (advanced clinics and higher level teams). The staff are friendly. I want to especially give a shout out to my favorite tennis pro/instructor, Sarah Hatcher.
The workout classes and equipment are also great!

Iβm extremely disappointed and disturbed by the treatment my children received at this YMCA location:Β Williams FamilyΒ YMCA Jacksonville, FL 32257. My childrenΒ experienced discrimination and were subjected to racist behavior that no child should ever have to endure. Staff members were not only dismissive but also aggressive in their interactions, creating an environment that felt unsafe and unwelcoming.
Whatβs even more troubling is the lack of accountability or empathy when these issues were brought to attention. As an organization that promotes community, inclusion, and respect, the YMCA has seriously failed in upholding those values here. I expected better; not just for my family, but for every child and parent who walks through those doors.
I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for leadership to take these matters seriously, train their staff appropriately, and take real steps toward creating a safe and inclusive environment for all families.

I've been a member of this branch of the ymca for over 8 years. I even continued to pay for a membership through covid. I moved away from the location, but had to come in to cancel my membership. I was told by 2 separate employees that as long as I came in before my membership renewed on the 17th I would not be charged for another month. You have to cancel in person. I was still charged for the month. When I called today the woman on the phone was very condescending saying I had to cancel 30 days in advance despite the fact that 2 previous employees specifically told me that wouldn't be the case. When I asked for her name she hung up on me. If the policy is 30 days that's fine, but I was told otherwise by 2 other employees and when I came in person yesterday the woman even said oh good you canceled before your membership renewed you won't be charge again.

Im sorry but The outside looks better than the inside... The gym literally stinks I don't know if it's the carpet or the people. The lady was nice or nosey upfront she looked up my account from a diff location however I will never transfer to this location it would be a huge downgrade and more expensive. This place need to be remodel asap!

Love the tennis program and personal training program at the ymca! They offer a variety of classes at varied skill levels to introduce everyone to tennis. Sarah does a fantastic job teaching and personal training. I have been able to progress in my athletic goals and learn so much in a short period of time! She is very thoughtful in designing workouts to help me improve.

Very clean and well-maintained! Iβm happy to have signed up there.
There are plenty of machines available for everyone to work out on, and sanitizing wipes are provided to use after working out on any machine.
The Staff was extremely kind, and showed my 14yo son how to use all of the machinery, while explaining which muscle groups he would be working, and how to keep the proper form, using each machine.
I am really impressed with the Williams Y, and would highly recommend it!

Awful gym. NOT FOR KIDS. this isn't a kid freindly gym. Every time I came with my child we got harassed. Signed up for the basketball camp for it to get cancled with no refund. When they see you working out with your child they constantly come up trying to sell training classes. Happened over four times to me. The day care is about as sketch as it gets my child got hurt in there every time. Then once you cancle your membership they say it takes 30 days so they can charge you for another month. When you walk in trust me there is a reason it's all old people and almost no kids. Your children will get harrased if you send them here. Save your money.

Don't ever go here with you're kids in the gym with no food and or water. Because you will be harassed and then threatened with having hot coffee poured on your head. Also he put his hand on a child on a different day!! 8/2/24.
Unacceptable and management has done nothing to address the situation.

Williams family YMCA is a terrific place to go work out. I go there to use the Brooks, adaptive sports program for people with Parkinsonβs and chronic diseases. If youβre interested, contact Mindy Loving or Reggie they are the ones that provide coaching in this program. They have a huge area with machines that you can work out on. Also, there is this wonderful pool outside. Everyone is very helpful. Kudos to Suzy at the front desk. The Williams why is one of many that has the Brooks, program, check your local area if you are interested in this program for people with chronic disease and or disabilities. The the YMCA also offer silver sneakers, which you can access the free of charge through your Medicare provider for example Humana. They also have a free reading program. You can access for children and their families if you want to get well and work on your wellness the YMCA is an excellent way to go. They will help you.

I went to attend my grandson's basketball game. He is a part of a different YMCA; however, they travel from various centers to compete. As I arrived, I was asked to complete a form and present my driver's license. It just happened to be on a day when there was a large African American crowd. I was insulted and this type of action did not sit well with me. The implications were less than stellar. I am so disappointed that an organization such as this, that should support diversity, gave such an impression of exclusion.

I highly recommend Williams YMCA in Mandarin! I joined a week ago, and had my free training session with Katie. I asked to be placed with someone enthusiastic and she exceeding all my wishes. Sue is super nice & knowledgable about all the programs, and she demonstrated all the machines and got me set up for my weights on each machine! She truly cares about her clients. The YMCA has fresh modern equipment, pool, tennis, Pickle ball, basketball, cardio equipment in separate room from free weights and strength training equipment and you can log into your own private streaming accounts or watch regular stations or music. It is immaculate clean which is important to me! They have E-FIT equipment too(like a robot setting up your circuit training for you! So many classes to take too . You could easily spend the entire day working out! So much fun today. I encourage everyone to come here and with Silver Sneakers and some other Medicare Advantage its FREE.

I joined this YMCA for the summer so that my autistic son could get swim lessons. I contacted the swimming instructor by the email that I was given from this YMCA and she let me know there was nobody available to teach swim lessons until maybe the end of August. So this YMCA was useless to me I never went into the facility and
they still continued to charge me. I even went in before the month was completed to cancel. I've only been in the facility one time but they're still gonna charge me for the whole month. If you are looking for swim lessons for your kid I do not recommend this place not to mention if you get a membership here I would be careful they will still charge you for the whole entire month and it's not worth them having a return customer by letting that go so I don't plan on ever coming back here they lost lost a customer permanently.

Facility is fine, but (some of) the staff complain about dumb things (Like dropping weights). Not like I throw them, but dropping two 100 lb DBs ainβt something thatβs gonna have a soft landing
I get it, you canβt press massive amounts of weight like myself.
Keep the envy for a place where Iβm not PAYING to lift weights.
If youβd like to show me how to put the weight down softly, try going through my workout. Very simple.
This is a gym. Treat it as such.
If I wanted to go to bingo night or the library, thereβs other facilities like that.
Otherwise, weight selection is decent, cardio machine selection good, tennis court is big, good pool, etc

The facilities are nice and most of the staff are quite friendly, however I have to give them 1 star for the extremely poor experience my wife and I had as volunteer coaches. I am a long time fan and member of the Y and I grew up playing basketball at Dupont. I have volunteered before but this last experience was not only disappointing but very upsetting. I will try to make a very long story short. I volunteered to coach an U17 bball team who had no coach just days before the season was to begin. I was given a roster of 6 kids, one of them was 13 and was in the wrong age group. The first game I had a kid foul out and had to play with 4. I reached out to the sports director who did not respond. It turned out that that person stepped down or quit. The interim sports director informed me that I could add some kids to the roster and that due to all the issues with how poorly the league was organized those kids fees would be covered. All they would have to do would be to have their parents sign waivers. Those three kids did sign waivers and I handed them to the font desk myself. For some reason over the course of the season, the interim sports director, the executive director, and the 3rd and final sports director all kept asking me about these kids and why they weren't on the original roster. I explained them the answer, told them their names for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th times and assured them they had signed the waivers and I turned them in myself. These kids played all season long and as we enter into our semi-final playoff game my team is informed at the tip off that we will forfeit the game because we have 3 ineligible players that have not signed waivers. Not only is that untrue, here is the real Kicker, THEY STILL LET THEM PLAY THE GAME!!! They said you guys can go ahead and play but it wont count and you cant play in the championship game tomorrow! Can you believe that?! It is absolutely ridiculous how they handled the situation and down right idiotic. There were so many different ways they could have handled the situation and could have made it right. I practically begged the executive director to just at least call the other coach and see if he would even be willing to give us a rematch and he wasnt willing to do it. He also told me that this was "about the kids". The YMCA lost our waivers and not once through 5 different staff members, or 3 different sports directors did they communicate this. Not once did they ask me to have my players sign new waivers, if so I would have done it. It was quite easy in the first place! They were unwilling to admit their mistake and own up to the consequences and decided to make my guys suffer instead. "About the kids" they said. The executive director even told me "I'm probably making the wrong decision here." It was so bad that they offered my team a refund. I told them you are offering the wrong team a refund. Communicate your mistake to the other team, ask them for a rematch, and if they are unwilling then you give them a refund. But no. It's really sad. And you deserve to know. I would not put my kids in this YMCA sports program until they get things back on track. Very very sad.
