A new bathroom is under construction on the course so there is one porta John that hasn’t been emptied in a year I would guess . It is disgusting, smells & full almost to the top!

Played today wasn't told when I made tee times that front 9 would be closed. Arrived to the most unfriendly pro shop employees. We had to play back twice but nothing mentioned about the greens being top dressed plus two huge trees dead laying across cart paths on two different holes. It used to be a nice course.

I played this course for the second time in August 2024, and unfortunately, I won't be returning unless they completely redo the greens. While the course layout is very nice, the greens are in terrible condition. Some have weeds growing on them, and it seems all they do is mow over them. The course has a lot of potential, but they need to invest some money and hire a professional greenskeeper. Other reviewers who claim the greens are in good shape clearly know nothing about golf.

The layout is unreal. There are some real gems on this course. The cart paths are like a Tibetan mountain trail....wear a jock strap!! The greens were fast and in good shape. The distinguishing holes made it easily worth the 40 bucks I paid on golfnow. In town from St. Louis, and honestly, I was happy I played here. Thanks! (Look out for that 9 foot gator that hangs out on 17.)

A group of 7 that paid just under $800 to golf here including clubs, balls, gloves. Being the only people on the course not obstructing anyone we tried to play together. We were told to split up. Understandable for a busy course, but some leniency for some tourists on an empty course would have been appreciated.

The price was right and the fairways were mostly clean.
$40 with cart for 18. 6400 yds mostly flat.

The start was nice with a gator sunbathing next to the tee blocks, but far enough away.

Unfortunately, the greens were being fertilized in the middle of the day. So our 11:30 ish tee off had us right behind the person spreading the white and blue rocks all over the greens. So no putt went straight.
In addition to this the course was exceptionally wet considering there hasn't been rain in days. Clearly over-watering. Lots of balls dug in below ground with no bump or spin around greens. Carts got stuck in mud on left side of 1 fairway.
Just wet and mucky and didn't need to be.

Absolutely beautiful course in excellent condition. If you're in the area its a must play. Super value. You wont believe the greens for the middle of winter. There is some construction along one hole that may cause that hole to be closed but that will be short term. Don't miss out on this one.

I find it to be one of the more challenging courses in my area. I would play from the white marker, but I had a more enjoyable time playing from the yellow marker because of hazards you need to clear on the drives. The course plays away from the road into the woods so it's rather peaceful. Nature is definitely present out there. In one day I saw a gopher tortoise, tirtles, Sandhill cranes, alligators up to 5'5", butterflies, and if you know where to look the perch are bedding down in the shallows during the spring. Most of the bridges look like they need some work they hold. I think only one of the bridges where out and blocked off, but it's a short detour around it.

First, l have no clue where the previous reviews came from. Did they play the same course as me? The first problem was making a tee time. They won’t let singles book on line or on GN. So l call. They were charging me $3 more because l didn’t book on line. So l repeated myself to the teenager on the other side - l can’t book on line as a single. Why am l being charged $3 more. All he would do is apologize. Fine, l just wanted to play. I get my cart and it’s OLD. No GPS or USB, and the brake wouldn’t engage. And the scorecard in the cart was already used (as pictured). I didn’t use the driving range, but it had both grass and mats. But l didn’t see any divots in the grass, so l have to assume they always use the mats (-). Then there’s the cart paths. Commonly broken and/or flooded (as pictured). Now the course itself. What a s’hole. It’s a swamp. There’s literally puddles of the water everywhere, including the fairways. I think on 13 or 14, l drove right down the middle - and then splash! Even when it looked dry in the fairways water would commonly form around my feet. My shoes were saturated by the end of the round. And the fairways were spotty. There was actually a guy going around raking the bunkers, and doing a nice job. Possibly the only positive. The last 3-4 holes l played with a regular. He said these are common conditions. He also said they usually keep the greens sanded all summer. It’s a shame. This course could be amazing. A really cool layout with a lot of doglegs. No boring holes. Yet another example of what could be… But between the poor service, carts and conditions they’re lucky you can’t go lower than 1 star.

Beautiful course. I have played many courses in Lakeland, and Tampa this course hands down is in the best condition of any of them. From the greens to the fairways, not to mention the staff and the starter are extremely friendly. If you are lucky you might see a few gators like we did.

We showed up for our time just on time but had called in and let them know that we would not be early , we’re told not a issue would get us right on. We get there pay and head to the first tee and see the starter , he said your late will have to wait. I stated we we on time just not early , he said would have to wait four 4 groups that showed up early, all foursomes. I asked there tee times they were all behind us. We get tee off 40 mins late. Wait on every hole, one of the staff drove up and stated he was sorry and there was a slow foursome and pro shop would be out shortly. 3 hours to play 8 holes we could see 9 and 11 fairway from 8 green so we drove to 11 tee no one on no one on 10 or 11 so we played from 11 and were done in 1 1/2 hours the foursome that was behind us we seen them one 13 we were on 18. Not a bad layout and price was right but it will never happen again

Our group of 7 players were in the area on a golf trip from New York. We had an open day and a local golfer suggested it. Good move as we had a great day. Priced low so we were not expecting much. Surprise it was a challenge and interesting group of holes. Tight with water in play often. Greens very good and fairways in good shape, not plush but nice enough. To top it off fun lady in restaurant serving sandwiches and beer.

Terrible course, ugliest i have ever seen. Very unappealing.it looks like it belongs on the bayou of Louisiana with all the cypress trees and hanging spanish moss. The entire course is bulldozed out from a swamp, sticker bushes everywhere , barely any Florida landscaping like palm trees . Course itself wasnt horrible. Greens were ok fairways ok. The clubhouse pro shop and parking lot were ancient. Lot hasnt been paved since the 1960s . The restaurant reminds me of a motel from the Catskills in 1964. For $25 id rather play cypresswoods or white heron. Im being fair. Its just plain ugly and old . Avoid

Conditions on this course are horrible. Poorly maintained. Any precipitation results in the course/range to be shut down for days. Prices are extremely expensive for the quality you receive. You can easily book another location with better playing conditions for the same price. This is the closest course to me and I’d love it to be better, but because of the lack of quality, inconsistency of operation hours, aroma of swap, and inadequate pricing, I’m forced to play elsewhere. It shouldn’t cost $30 for an afternoon tee time at this location. It should be more like $15.

Very nice public course. I've paid a lot more at private courses that do not compare. The only reason my review isn't a 5 star is that it was obviously still damp from the tropical storm the other day so the balls were plugging and the greens were a bit slow, but I'm sure it'll be in better shape when I play it again. Originally I played a couple rounds at a golf course complex nearby that was highly recommended and I was so disappointed at the cost and terrible condition. Then I discovered Willowbrook (a hidden gem for a muni course) and played there several times in Mar 2020. The people were so friendly including the starter (who ran the show and kept things running smoothly, Jesse).
The course was in great shape, affordable, and very playable! Not real long or real difficult, but challenging. Looking forward to playing here again!

Have played here a few times. Word of caution: avoid at all costs if the weather looks wet. The course has a tenacity to get a little soggy after a rain, but that's not the biggest issue. The real issue is their rain check policy. If there is even a single cloud in the sky when you start your round, they won't give you a rain check for any reason. I really don't understand the problem with letting someone come back and finish what they paid for, but that's their policy so bear in mind when looking at the weather. The course is otherwise fairly well kept, aside from some minor drainage issues. It's pretty nice to play when dry, fairways and greens are about as good as you'll get in this price range. They have a driving range with fairly priced range balls too.

Just returned From an Dream Golf trip and had one day I figured I would play locally went to Willowbrook and had a great round it's 60 years old and the GREENS are among the nicest I played in comparison to Courses twice the price. Jess the starter gave me some tips and told me to Watch out for the 15 foot 3 legged alligator"Sir" Didn't come across him Thankfully Fun Local course take the guys and enjoy pace was great I wouldn't hesitate playing again.

Changed their driving range to mat only, which some people might like but I don't care for. The golf course is a decent course and fun to play. I really didn't care for the manager at all, he just always seemed to have a bad attitude. Customer service and making customers feel welcome wasn't his strong point. He was just not a nice person.
