This is actually Becky. I went to Workout anytime fitness thinking things would change, but unfortunately it has not. Every time I went in they had broken equipment or the equipment was dirty which really makes it hard to workout! I ended up paying more to go to a better and cleaner gym. Sad that the owner doesn’t take pride in this place but seems to look at it as just a money machine. Hope he looks into it.

It’s a decent gym, though the space is a bit tight. While the equipment selection is limited, it covers the essentials. However, during peak hours, you may have to wait for certain machines. The club was very crowded and tiny, so I got a membership at Destin Fitness. Knowing the games gyms play with cancelling memberships, I walked into the club and cancelled my membership and my boyfriends in person.

That was in AUG. I just had to replace my debit card and then starting getting text messages from Anytime fitness that I need to update my payment method. I went in my bank account and see they have been charging me, twice in Sep, again in Oct and now trying to charge for Nov. I thought I would avoid that by going in person to cancel, but I see WA is still doing the same scummy gym stuff that has been going on with gym memberships since the 90's by not honestly and cleanly releasing people from their monthly memberships. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Here goes more of my work day trying to stop the unauthorized charges and get my money back. Super frustrating.

EDIT: my review was not clear. this is for the Workout Anytime in Destin FL. I left there and cancelled the membership when I got a membership at Destin Fitness in AUG of this year. I HAVE spoken to the payment processing company by phone and Destin employees in person and am still, as of today, getting automated phone calls that I need to update my payment method so they can charge me again. I am going into the gym today to speak to them. If I had not cancelled my previous debit card they would still be charging my bank account. The membership process is very scammy.

If you are looking for a basic, simple gym, this would be it. Though there isn’t a ton of equipment and nothing is duplicated expect for most cardio equipment (not the bike) and one bench press, you don’t have to wait very often for a machine which is wonderful.

This place is awesome! Old naked guy always in the locker room is a lil unnerving. They should give him a job handing towels or something. This gym has been open for more than 7 years. When it first opened, it was clean, and shiny. It has gone downhill from here. The equipment is worn. Most of the red leather covers are ripped or worn where people place their arms or legs. The machines work but are either rusting or have paint flaking off. They have never been cleaned underneath. The step machines have so much filth built up underneath, it is disgusting. The spin bike visual machine didn't work. So, this year they took that part away, treadmills are often broken. No signage to indicate of these issues. There is so much dust accumulated on the ceiling fan, heating ducts, & wall flags that indicates these items have never been cleaned. Walls need cleaning & painting. The owner invests in more gyms instead of cleaning up this one. She should be reported to corporate. Cleaning towels and sprays are available, most people use them, which is good. Not the best gym.

Jabroni central. This place has so many posers and wannabes that have zero gym etiquette. These people will hog the weights and turn a workout station into their own personal "bowflex". Signs telling the members to put the weights back after EACH SET would be helpful, but they don't care. The management there is a joke and won't talk to people about these issues. Joined another gym and it is much better! I would stay away from this place - unless you are a Jabroni. Then you will fit right in.

I would leave zero stars if I could. I was a member here for several years.. started out ok..very small gym with limited workout equipment. Many of the members need to be taught what gym etiquette is. My last evening working out here, my leg night, a guy was "working out" on the one and only squat rack and was literally there for well over one hour. When I asked him how many sets he had left he basically said I shouldn't wait for it, he'd be there forever... he was doing many other exercises, not just squats... he thought he was funny... so I bought this to the attention of the employee.. he did nothing so I mentioned it again... this member was just basically hanging out there... so the employee called the manager and the manager had the nerve to drive out to the gym and say that I was wrong for complaining. I Never asked for the manager to be called. I tried to talk to the owner and nobody would give me their information. This manager was so unprofessional and rude. He yelled at me for making an issue of this. I pay the same fees as everyone else, nobody owns the equipment there...I've never seen such a childish attempt at running a gym...I'd never recommend anyone go to this gym unless you like sitting around waiting for equipment because of the lack of equipment, and the majority of the people using it are hanging out on their phone or doing a variety of things other than working out. I've told many people about the poor management there. This did lead me to a much better gym, at least one good thing came out of that terrible experience...

The staff and the gym are great. I give them 5 stars. Your membership that when you sign up gives you 24/7 access nationwide does not apply to this gym from July to September due to someone else’s behavior. The local people are allowed to use the gym 24/7 but a visitor from out of state has to wait until staff shows up at 08:00 Monday thru Friday and 09:00 on Saturday and Sunday. If someone comes to your home gym from Destin they can use their 24/7 membership nationwide at your location. It would be nice if they would pay someone to come in at 05:00 to babysit the visitors during these months so people from out of state could get their workout in so their family is not sitting around waiting for them to get back with the car or to get their day started early. If you come to Destin location plan on starting your day late or paying to go somewhere else to get your workout in before 08:00. They will alter your membership to fit their situation but Workout Anytime still promotes memberships for 24/7 nationwide.

I've been to many gyms across the country and I tend to spend an ample amount of time in the gym regularly. I was in town visiting and needed to find a place to work out. This place was open. It was $15 for a day pass, and in my opinion based on the size of the gym and limited and very used equipment I'd be more willing to pay $3 for drop in. One of the worst gyms I've ever been .

When they were closed for a month for Covid, they didn't charge me for a month (since they weren't open), but then they double charged me the next month. I give 1-star because the staff leaves a lot to be desired.

During my final workout here before moving, my jacket was stolen off of the coat rack. It should have been an incredibly simple case to crack as I was only there for an hour and there are cameras everywhere and a swipe system to verify who comes/goes.

I addressed the issue with the staff 3 times over the following week and engaged online customer service. I received 0 assistance from anyone. It was my favorite jacket and was expensive.

I'll definitely not enroll in as membership for this franchise in the future & recommend others steer clear.

Vacationing this week at nearby Breakers East and spotted this gym on Google search, too convienently located not to give it a shot. Bought a day pass on Monday and was so impressed I went back Wednesday and Friday as well. The young lady working the front desk was friendly and helpful. Super clean facility, state of the art machines as well as tons of free weight. I've belonged to commercial gyms for more than 30 years, much of that time as a competitive bodybuilder so I'm used to being a bit disappointed when traveling and looking for a place to train. Not the case here, something for everyone no matter your fitness level. Definitely my new go to while in the area!

The gym might be great, but I’ll never know because I was never able to get into it...Since I was on vacation I signed up to be able to access the gym at night. They assured us the key tags would work right away and we could access the gym after staffed hours. First night, key tags didn’t work and didn’t let us into the gym. Fun fact, the trainer that works at the gym, that literally introduced himself to us 6 hours before when we signed up, looked at us trying to get in the door while walking on a treadmill and didn’t let us in...we even showed him we had tags and he ignored us and kept looking away...
Second day, went to the gym during staffed hours and talked to the same trainer that ignored us...he said ‘your tag should work’ but he said he would have the manager check it out...again, assured us we would have access after staffed hours at night...again, the tag didn’t work the second night.
Terrible...the gym might be great, and the club manager is super nice and helpful, but we weren’t able to access it to work out after hours at all after signing up...they were literally 0 for 3 (my brothers signed up too) on getting working key tags for 2 days. Please just save yourself some time and go 15 more minutes down the road to Planet Fitness in Ft Walton. It’s way better and easier to get in to for a good workout.

The staff was extremely rude and after hours I noticed staff members working out there and they’ll sell drinks and shakes to hot girls that come in when I ask for when I don’t get one they also let members come in without their card and don’t say anything. I've been a member here since they opened in Jan 2016, and I go six days a week. The place can feel a bit cramped if there are lots of people there as its packed with equipment, but the staff keeps it as clean as a gym can be kept. I've seen the staff vacuuming under treadmills, Windexing the mirrors, and mopping the changing rooms (which are also clean). W.A.D. provides spray and microfiber towels for the equipment, too, and they wash those towels regularly. They have personal trainers, tanning and a Hydromassage thingy. The staff there is friendly but not talkative; personally, that's a plus to me because I mind my own business while I'm there. Sometimes the gym is super-crowded when the tourists are in town or if it's a holiday weekend. Skill level and age range of the patrons covers the gamut: beginner, competitor, young, old. They have all the free- and fixed-weight accoutrements you might want, plus treadmills, stairmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, recumbent and upright bikes, and of course treadmills. They do not offer classes, a pool, sauna, track, day care, or other YMCA-like amenities. My mild gripes: It is tight during peak hours. There isn't a place to jump rope without clotheslining people if the "abs area" is full and I ain't too proud to beg for another squat rack, Stairmaster or Stairmill, but they have maxed out their space, so oh well.

Just moved to the area a couple days ago. I tried to use the free get fit pass. They said I must show a local ID. Well how can I show a local ID when I just moved here. Just spoke with Scott. Terrible manager. He didnt even care about this review I told him that I would leave. He shouldnt be the manager. As a business owner I would have done everything I could to resolve the very minor issue before having a bad review being placed on my companies profile forever. Waiving a $15 fee would have been nothing compared to having a bad review because of bad customer service.
I asked him if he understand the negative impacts a bad review could have and he didnt care. I guess thats what you have when its run by a poor manager vs a caring business owner.
terrible front desk/customer service. Try cancelling. Its very difficult. I tried to cancel after they needed to update my credit card twice. One minute they cant do anything....the next they can but a manager has to do it...two minutes before they said the manager cant even do it. They make the rules up as they go along. ..... Why cant I just cancel now on the phone or by phone/fax? To cancel I need to give them my updated credit card so they can charge it a few times. If I dont it will go to collections. Then hopefully they really will cancel. When they lie as a business it does nothing to help their reputation. Have they not even heard of scanning forms to clients that functions just like a fax machine. I cant believe it. They are just as difficult to deal with as gyms with multi year memberships. I even told Scott that I didnt have time to cancel which was the reason I had only been to the gym in 3 months or so.
I spent more time battling ignorant staff on the phone than I actually spent in the gym.
I asked him if he would waive the last months fee they said they didnt collect from my credit card (since I just wanted to cancel). It was becoming too much trouble dealing with them, and driving the long distance. I wouldnt have minded keeping the membership if they werent calling me saying my card wasnt good even though I had just given it to them, and it was good. Maybe they should try updating the card when I call vs losing it.
