You took away the boxing aspect that was at the other gym. I was forced to go to the new gym when the other one closed. So not only is it now farther away but there is no speed bag or a heavy bag. Very soon I'm going to cancel my membership

Stay Away from this place.
As a member here I am appalled by the attitude of the upper level staff.
The Management/Training staff here are not very professional at all.
I few months back I gave my business card to the head guy and asked him to email me some choices for a personal trainer, I received no such email. A few weeks later I asked another trainer if he had 2 minutes to talk to me, he said no, and never came back. I have been around gyms for over 40 years and have belonged to one my whole life, so I think I have a little experience in this area.
So a week ago I went in and was told they were closing for remodeling, so for a week I had no place to workout, went to Bailey's which was very nice and the Y which was nice as well.
Upon my return to the newly remodeled gym the first thing I notice a huge portion of the gym, I would guess about 40% is blocked off with chain link fence (very attractive) a off limits to members, you see, this is a special area for trainers only. Of course will not stop the trainers from doing multiple sets on the machines when I am trying to do my workout, and now there is a lot less room for the "normal" people.
When I mentioned this to to management they just laughed in my face.
I can only assume they want to go out of business.
I will be going back to Anastasia fitness I think.
It looks to me the only positive reviews were purchased.

I was in town for vacation & looking for a gym. This place is okay, depending on what you are looking for. It is small & has equipment, but there were so many rules posted (& labeled, literally) EVERYWHERE, I was afraid to make any noise or do anything. I was able to get the job done, but had to find another gym for the rest of my trip because of their "no deadlifting" rule. I wish the strict rules would have been posted somewhere online before I went there just so I would've been aware & could've continued my search. The staff was friendly, the equipment useful, & I think it is a great place if you are looking for something small. It is not a great place if you are a serious lifter & have serious lifting to do, this is not the gym for you.

DO NOT USE THIS GYM! The staff at this gym are trained to lie to people in order to get their money and get a contract signed. Specifically Mike and Tracy were extremely rude and went out of their way to be completely rude and useless. Huge waste of money and the girls bathroom was beyond disgusting the last time I was there. World Gym needs to be shut down because they have ripped off and lied to way too many people.

Great gym, diverse weight options, personal trainers are phenomenal! I saw my body change drastically in the months I've trained here. Price is fair! $50 a session with a trainer.

As much as I try to put it off, I am always happy to be back at World Gym. When I go in very early in the morning to get my workout in before me work day begins, I'm always met with smiles and encouragement from the other members.
Coach Brandon Sands has changed my life! He's challenged and encouraged me to be super strong and fit. I am so much better and happier - so much healthier! Awesome!!

Update:
I decided to update my review based on the customer service from the manager Tracy .
After both locations merged it is very crowded at all times . They brought a lot of equipment from the other location but that only made the workout space even smaller .

Ripped me off.
βTracyβ a manager there just stole money from me and quoted FL statute to me on the phone, like it was some replacement for customer service, or like I cared.
I was a member at world gym mainland. For a long time. Years. So I never looked at it when I was billed.
Well when they closed, they pulled the sneakiest, shadiest thing I have ever seen, and instead of stopping the billing, since I was a member at location βAβ, and NOT the beach, decided it would be cool to charge me for a facility I have NEVER stepped foot inside in my life this entire time.
Apparently, they have been billing me since they moved locations. I discovered this today, and called to cancel, and let them know this error on their part, they must have accidentally charged me, and....Well, apparently no, they are just that sneaky and dishonest. The charges were intentional, and these people stole my money.
And to justify this theft, they quote FL statute that states as long as a business moves within 5 miles, they are allowed to do this.
Well, Iβll be calling the BBB and whoever else will listen and letting them verify this, and seeing what complaints get me. I donβt care if I get a few bucks back. The way they did this was wrong, and as a business they should not only make this right to me, but to what I am SURE are dozens or hundreds of other people they have SCAMMED.
Tracy, congratulations. You just created an awareness campaign against your company by providing the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. And here I thought Walmart was bad lol

For the average, retired, elderly person, this gym is just fine.
For any athletes, or those looking to be athletes of any capacity in the future, this gym is horrible. I gave it three visits to be sure, since Saint Augustine is pretty limited on gyms.
Deadlifts are not allowed (which is ridiculous, canβt be an athlete if you donβt deadlift, but other gyms have this silly rule and it can be overlooked when visiting from out of town for a week). BUT THEN they prohibit weight over 315lbs. to be loaded on a barbell (despite their obsession with mandatory collar use). Not sure what the rationale behind that is. A man of average strength can properly, and correctly squat over 315lbs. And if he cannot, then Iβm sure the waiver that is signed before entering the gym would resolve any issues arising from uneducated lifting.
If protection of their equipment is the issue it is a pathetic concern. They act like they have world class equipment based on the excessive rule posting every chance they get, however their equipment is worn. The weight plates were spray painted black, and are sticky as you would imagine. None of this by itself is a problem, but their delusional attitude about their gym is not reflected in the equipmentβs quality.
Canβt have a gym bag.
Canβt βspit in the water fountainβ. Not sure why that even needs to be said, but donβt worry, they have a sign reminding you, yet again, NOT to do something.
The benches by the free weights are bolted to the ground, so when others are inconsiderate of space you are unable to create more space for yourself. You are forced into what they believe is where the benches should be. Really, unsafe, which is strange because safety appears to be a major concern for them.
At all times, I felt like I was being babysat and watched. They seem so concerned that someone may actually workout in their gym (oh no).
Sometimes rules are necessary. This gym goes over the top. Athletes beware.

They closed the location where they gave classes, wouldn't give refunds on remaining membership even though they stopped the glasses which was the only service used. Dishonest operator, stay away.

This was a great gym, but they closed the main one without warning and wouldn't refund anyone's membership fees. The locker rooms in the island gym are useless and they don't offer daycare or classes.

Was fine until they decided to merge. My wife depends on the child care that was provided at the closing location which won't be provided at the remaining location. Nor will the classes.
Tried to cancel and they said that they would charge us for an additional month! So I called Tracy and was very polite only to be told deal with it because they were within their rights.
NOT GOOD!!

The big sign out front, and local media, advertises 99.99 for 12 months. Inside you find out there is a 43.50 basic service fee. The people at the desk said it is a corporate fee and they had no control. My wife insisted on joining, but I feel this is duplicitous advertising. The same sign said it was locally owned and managed. This place will probably be like many other gyms and sign up many folks then go out of business with no refunds. I do not trust them and will not allow my wife to go there without me. It seems to be a sketchy place. I am sure the employees are great as long as they have a job. Beware.

Wow, another gym with terrible pictures. I'm trying to find a new home gym and, instead of driving everywhere to find one, I'd rather look online... but how am I supposed to see your facilities if all you have pictured is nonsense? No wonder Baileys took over in Jacksonville.

THE NUT DOES NOT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE! This location is not as busy as the location on US 1; however, THE STAFF IS THE SAME AS THE STAFF AT THE US 1 LOCATION. The staff is never there to help, but is quick to remind you of the rules of the gym. The owner needs to turnover the whole staff or hire a 3rd party company to help train the staff.

Lots of machines and cardio equip. Well maintained and clean. Group fitness and spin classes avail. Only a few free weight platforms for squats or presses. Lots of signs posted to prevent grunting or dropping weights. Crowd for mid-day workout was mostly retirees. Their monthly dues are very reasonable at less than $40, but apparently they don't want vacation travelers as their "daily" rate is $15. I would come back to workout but couldn't justify spending $75 for a weeks worth of workouts. I don't recommend for the price.
