Easily one of the most overcrowded and under managed gyms I have ever been to. Every machine I need in my 5-workout series is taken all at the same time at 9am on a Thursday, and it isn’t any better any other time of the day. The area is growing yet the gym is too small to accommodate. Equipment is nice, but it would also be nice to have the opportunity to use it. Bonus points for the creepy guys staring (I mean, making an effort) at the younger women, as well as the lack of respect for others needing a machine at any given time (I’m looking at you, guy who’s doing 10 sets of 15 on the same machine). I wouldn’t recommend if you’re coming here for anything other than cardio. Even then, you’re very likely to be waiting for a machine depending on your chosen cardio routine. At least they greet you when you walk in, sometimes.

My daughter was in the summer camp program and I had to remove her just 3 days ago. She is constantly telling me how she’s being hit by other little boys and the adults aren’t doing anything about it. More importantly, I send my daughter with water every morning and she informed me that when she ran out of water in the morning she asked multiple teachers for water and they either told her to wait, or no even after playing outside. When I picked her up my daughter ran to me in related begging for something to drink because she was not afforded the opportunity to get water. I immediately brought this up to the staff there and the young lady seemed not to care as if it was not a problem. She then started I’ll give you a number to call and complain about this. Instead of giving me contact info she made the call herself and stated no one was available but promised to have someone reach out. It has been 3 days and I have received no response! I also sent an email an hour later and was told it would be forwarded to branch director but no one is contacting me back after multiple phone calls. The staff there seems to be young kids just letting children run wild and not providing real attention or care as I was told that they were under stars and don’t have enough help! This summer camp is chaos from drop off to pickup and couldn’t last two weeks!

Very limited equipment. All of the weights are taken right now at 10am on a Saturday. Could have twice as much stuff but keep it way to speed out. Classes get cancelled all the time and right now I'm freezing because they have the fans on full blast when it's in the 60s outside. Could be so much better!! The equipment is so spread out. Could have twice the stuff to work out but choose not to. I'm here at 10 am and there is no equipment to use because it's all taken!! It's only getting worse! Not to mention the hours are only great for people who don't work!

I’ve seen garage gyms with more free weights. Lifting section too small. No platforms. Cardio section way too large. Not enough strength equipment to go around. I mean, really.. one cable-driven lat pulldown.. for the whole gym. But great, there are 67 treadmills that no one uses. Hard to believe this was designed by someone who has actually ever been in a gym. The only reason you’d force yourself to endure coming here to work out would be if you were military or low-income. Otherwise, open your wallet and twiddle your thumbs while you wait an eternity for the elderly to get off the one station for tricep exercises.

Not many areas to stretch or use free weights as well as barely any classes offered weekly/daily like you get at larger YMCA's around town. Bait and switch pricing at this location. My grandfather is a veteran and recently had a stroke. At the recommendation of his doctor we inquired about enrolling at this facility. Over the phone I was told that as a veteran he would qualify for a veteran's household account and was explicitly told the account would cover anyone living in the household. When my grandparents went to actually enroll at the facility, they were told that is incorrect and the veteran's household only includes people in your household if they are dependents on your tax return. The full cost of enrolling our household changed from $78 over the phone to $136 when my grandparents actually went to enroll. The management has made no attempts at an apology nor reconciliation, though we have brought this to their attention multiple times. At best this is incompetence and at worst it is dishonest practice taking advantage of our elderly veterans.

AMAZING staff. But very small for the price. No racquetball, pickle ball, tennis ball, or pool, and cost a whopping $42 a person. Very small space. But here I am so oh well. Also, a very teeny no lunking policy would be nice… the massive grunting and lifting shirts up to flex by high schoolers gets old

This location does not have a pool or a gym, yet the membership costs are the same as other YMCA locations with much more to offer. A pool is really needed in the Wildlight community with so many families looking for swim lessons, and two 55+communities opening up.

This is the best gym I’ve ever joined. It’s so clean, all new state of the art equipment with a running track upstairs. Clean new women’s locker area and nice bathrooms and more lockers upstairs, 3 studios upstairs, water bottle refill fountains all around the gym and wipes to wipe down equipment always available. I love coming here. I get a discount through my employer but even without the discount it would still be the lowest I would have ever paid in my life.

The staff are extremely cordial and will go out of their way to assist you; however, the facility itself is very limited. It lacks a lot of weight machines and free weights to include a pool. If the YMCA upgraded their machines, free weights, and added a pool; I would join the entire family that day.

I wish the weight section was way bigger. It gets too crowded way too often. I feel like I'm basically sitting in someone's lap sometimes just trying to do my workout. Overall it's clean and nice though. The people are mostly really nice; the kidzone staff are my favorite.

New, clean, and well designed. A number of the reviews mention it feels like home. It does. It’s nestled into the Wildlight community surrounded by nature off the beaten path of 200. Frankly a lot more of the development along 200 should be positioned like this as opposed to being part of another obnoxious strip mall with unnecessary eyesore signage for places we can all find on our phones.

But the lack of a pool with swimming lanes is a huge miss. I learned how to swim at a Y as a child, and I had hoped my children would also. Lots of local families wanting their kids to learn ISR are not going to drive a one hour round trip in traffic to Jax or the island to another Y with a pool. With so many kids near the ocean and community pools who need to learn how to swim here, a pool with lessons seems like a no brainer. The want is made even greater because nearby Del Webb has only 3 swim lanes planned for their pool, which is way too few for 600+ houses of seniors who could benefit more than anyone from swim exercise. Scores of 55+ residents will be wanting swim lanes nearby but find no options - in Florida of all places.

Incredibly, there is apparently not enough space for the Y to expand for a pool and employees have told members there is no intention or ability to add it. Looking at the lot location, this is almost impossible to believe as there is a lot of space surrounding it. Furthermore, Wildlight will be expanding by 10x in the next decade making the need here even greater. The lack of foresight and planning is baffling and inexcusable.

So unfortunately a permanent minus one star for the long standing impact this missing fundamental feature will have on the community. Hundreds of families will be driving untold miles away for lessons, or just abandoning them altogether. And one of the most healthy sources of exercise for adults will be unavailable.
Let’s hope the Y elsewhere makes this a nonnegotiable design feature going forward for all future facilities.

This YMCA is kind of new.I believe it just opened in 2021. It’s very clean and staff is helpful. This is one of the smaller locations and the have limited equipment. Also, there is no Gym nor swimming pool. They do have an upper level that has a running track and rooms for classes. If you know someone, they can refer you and you will get a discount. Overall, you can get a good workout in.
