Machines are all rusted out and constantly breaking….also there’s a huge pest control issue…big roach inside the fan of a machine that blows the only air you will get in your face. The AC doesn’t work or they never turn it on…either way it’s a horrible experience. Spiders and big ants on the machines and on the floor in the stretch area. Also, seems none of the machines are connected to cable or Wi-Fi so you can’t watch a show or the news while on a machine…the screens barely work on other machines. Basically this gyms is falling apart and no one seems to care.

Be advised you cannot cancel your membership depending on the level you select. The contract is ambiguous and if you cancel you will still be billed and then sent to collections if you protest the charge. Go to a locally owned gym where you can understand the agreement.

So after going back and forth with their team for a little over a year about their manager not canceling my member ship as requested (followed all the instructions he gave me) at their location that closed down on West Pensacola St. I have been informed that they can’t do anything since it was sent to collections and because the incident happened to long ago. REALLY!!!! The reason this even started is because your manager at the location I canceled my membership at “dropped the ball,” their own managers words when I first called to complain. I contacted you once this was discovered because I randomly started getting calls from a collection agency.

Nice facilities, awful, I repeat, AWFUL management.

Save yourself the headache. The cheap membership isn’t worth it if your serious about fitness

If you’re reading this review, make sure to take not of how they do not engage with negative views. It’s not because all of them are invalid complaints, it’s more so that the management staff is either not given the tools or competent enough to actually solve the issue.

I did not want to write a 1 star review; however, they have been extremely disappointing with assisting in my membership cancelation. I signed up with my fiancé a year or so ago at their Pensacola location. After a year of enjoying the gym, I would come to find out my location would be closing. They were offering easy cancelation for the inconvenience, and after speaking with the manager and following their instructions it appeared it was a done deal. For additional context I also closed the card that was on file.
However months later I received a call from a collections agency stating that I owed them money! But how I closed my account. After speaking to manager at this location, I was informed that the manager of the Pensacola location had “dropped the ball” and did not do several tasks they were suppose to complete when exiting the company.
I was expecting since it was on their end that it would be an easy fix, but I was unfortunately incorrect. I had to supply proof of my cancelation email, among other details. After providing that information I was told that they would work on resolving this issue. It has now been several months later and I’m still receiving calls from collection agency regarding this bill.
The frustrating part is I worked for youfit several years ago, and I’m not sure what changed, but the focus on customers service and hospitality is levels below what it was as this would have been an easy fix by manager when I was employed there.

Noah, at the front desk has been friendly and very helpful every time I see him there - though the management hasn’t been as friendly as Danny was. This location has also become WAY more busy during the semester now that the Pensacola street location is closed. I don’t mind it being busy so much, but I do notice that there are a lot more people sitting at stations and not working out and people not putting away or wiping down equipment.

I have been a member for maybe like 3 years. The staff is nice and gym has everything I need, would appreciate more maintenance to the machines. One cable has been out of service for months. Ceiling leaks in multiple spots throughout the gym. Would be 4 stars if they would replace the water filter, I can’t remember the last time this was working!!!

Really like this gym. I've been a member at all the big gyms in TLH for years. Power lift gyms and casual. I moved and this is closest. The vibe here is really good. Not intimidating but also a lot of free weights and fit people to help motivate you. I really enjoy the staff and trainers. Kyle is very professional and open and personal. I appreciate it. I have only worked with one of the trainers there, but I can tell you that my man Alix is legit. If you are trying to bounce back from some muscle weakness/imbalance you should definitely talk to him, and you will be able to enjoy the sports again in no time (it depends but you know what I mean). The gym also has a great collection of facilities that you can do pretty much anything you can think of.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP. GO TO CRUNCH! I tried to cancel my membership in the club a year ago. I was told that everything was taken care of by one of the club associates. They just charged me $203 for an annual membership that I cannot use because I live in state where Youfit is not available. The membership practices are predatory.

I was literally going to cancel my membership at Mahan. I visited this location and the GM Danny so welcoming that I just kept coming back. A large chunk of classes, Les Mills, was cancelled with zero notice. Literally, one day we got told "this is the last Les Mills bodypump". It's very inconsiderate that so many classes throughout the week are suddenly dropped with zero notice, so we can't even reconsider our membership. With so many classes gone and nothing to replace them, I don't see any reason to keep paying for a premium membership - it has lost half of its value overnight! But of course, I can't cancel immediately, because their conditions require a month notice (unlike notifying the members of any bigger change to the group classes). I think whoever manages the group classes here does not care one bit.

Plus this gym has plenty of other problems:
1) dirty bathrooms, sometimes there's literally feces on the toilet seat, water everywhere, they don't clean regularly
2) the group classroom seems to be cleaned once a week (and I'm being generous). It's so disgusting having to blow away dust bunnies, spiders and who-knows-what away from my mat when we exercise on the floor. And its hilarious when the main manager comes with a cute tiny vacuum cleaner, asking "so where's the dirt?"...literally everywhere, my dude.
3) they ask members to always get a class pass before attending a class, yet sometimes there's no staff at the front desk or in sight (and if there's someone nearby, they'll ignore me), so I just go to class without a pass. Instructors know well that the front desk staff don't care about the classes so they don't demand a pass.

So just heads up, to existing and new members. This gym seems to care as much as Pensacola did. We know how that ended...

I am leaving this gym because I want to do classes and they have no morning classes to do. I Signed up for a year contract that was month to month payments. In the contract it says to go let them know at the end of the year you want to cancel. So I did I talked to the lady at the front desk and she let me know I had an older contract and that it would just be over at the end of the year. I guess they are with a company called ABC now that does there contracts. So of course my contract ended and I still got charge the next month by youfit I go into the fitness center and they give me a card to cal ABC to cancel and I was like that’s not what I was told originally but okay. Takes me forever to get a real person on the phone then I get a person and she tells me I am going to be charged any fees that come with in the next 30 days so of course the annual maintenance fee is during this time. I was very upset because I tried to abide my contract and let the fitness center know before hand I was canceling yet I still have to pay all these fees I tried to talk to someone but no cared. Any ways going to one of these big corporate gyms make sure you get everything in writing I guess they probably will still charge you because they are all about the money

This gym has predatory practices. I closed my account in person in early July. I was told I had NO balance when I was there. Two months later I received a collections letter for $88. Youfit claims I owed $$ from June and now late fees. No explanation from Youfit as to why I was not told of the balance when I was there in person closing the account. No letter from Youfit about the balance, only a collections letter months after the fact racking up late fees.

I just joined YouFit Monroe Street location last week. I absolutely love it!!! It is a huge gym with everything you could want or need for a great workout. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the gym which tells me they have a great cleaning staff. What made my decision to join was the manager Bob. I could tell he cares about the people who come to the gym and he cares about his staff. He took the time to sit down and talk to me about what I wanted from a gym. The other reason I joined was after taking Mr. Ottis’s Step class, it’s an awesome workout. Plus I signed up for personal training sessions with Danny. I had my first session today and it went great. I am looking forward to my next session. A huge shout out to the caring staff I have spoken with since joining who have made me feel like part of the YouFit family. They are Danny, Brooke, Allen, Ceejay, Katie, Alanna.

The day I signed up for membership I was told that my friend and I would have access to the aerobics studio when there were no classes being held. I made the decision to enroll based on this as my friend is a dance instructor and needs the space to choreograph. The next day she and I went in to upgrade my membership to include a guest but were told that we were given bad information and that the aerobics room is only available during class time to those attending classes. Bc insigned up for the purpose of using the space I was told that my membership could be undone. Fast-forward 4 months I get a call from their billing office from a very rude gentleman threatening to send $800 to collections unless I paid him the $150 or so that I owe them. I never stepped in their gym after the second day(although he claimed I did on 2 other days, not true). He then refused to let me speak and then hung up the phone on me. Not sure if it is true but I'm told that Youfit is filing bankruptcy anyway but I strongly urge anyone who wants a gym membership in Tallahassee to consider another gym.

Enforce your mask policy, for the employees as well as for the customers. I wouldn't care if I didn't work with high-risk patients but I absolutely have to care. People straight up walk around without anything at all. Terrible gym! I've been calling their corporate and local gym for over 2 months asking for their plans moving forward, told me I would receive an email. They temporarily opened on June 18th but as a paying member I did not receive any communication. Now I want to cancel my membership and get my money back but their corporate website says you can only do so at your local gym, which guess what, is CLOSED and neither corporate or the local gym wants to answer the phone. Was pleased with the Mahan Drive location up until 3 months ago. They have been closed, which is understandable. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO TAKE MY MONEY THROUGH CREDIT AND CHECKING ACCOUNTS, EVEN THOUGH THEY AREN'T OPEN. Final straw today when they charged me $42.99 for annual activity fee. Run, don't hide from these people. Check BBB and see recent posts. Many people upset.

This place is still charging monthly fees although they have been shut down for months due to the pandemic. They should have automatically halted all payments from members when they shut down. There's not even a way to reach them at corporate to cancel payments. DISAPPOINTING.

Have been a member of YouFIt for several years now. I have never had an issue until recently. I have been charged $26 per month for March, April, and May 2020 (months in which they have been closed). Throughout this time period they have not contacted me regarding the closure or charges. I have attempted to contact the health club multiple times to freeze or cancel my account multiple times. A member told me they could not help me and directed me to write a letter to their main office in St. Pete. I still have not received any response from YouFit as they continue to charge my account. I have had to reach out to my financial institution to flag their fraudulent charges as this seems very shady and illegal. I do not recommend signing up with or providing YouFit any account information as they will take money out of your account and overdraw your account for their own profits without the possibility of cancellation.

I was hesitant about signing up because of some previous experiences but I'm glad I joined. The staff are awesome and helpful and the environment isn't competitive or awkward. They offer daycare services as well. Definitely recommend!

I LOVE my morning workout with Marquesas Blimes. The facility is always clean and the staff are always kind! I have never just seen them sitting on their phones. They are always doing something or cleaning something which makes me feel really good about how they feel about their jobs and the respect they have for the facility.

Overall, this is a decent facility. I just joined about two months ago and my two biggest issues are the cleanliness of the bathroom and how long it takes to repair their workout equipment. The bathrooms seem to be untouched by staff for many days in a row. I try to avoid using them when I am there, because it's gross. It seems to take weeks to months to repair and replace equipment. I would also HIGHLY recommend having stations that provide wet wipes to clean workout equipment because they only have one or two locations with spray and paper towels and it is very inconvenient to use if you are switching between multiple machines. It's very unsanitary that nobody is wiping down this equipment between uses. With how much traffic this place gets, and the amount of YouFit locations there are, I really wouldn't expect any of this to be an issue.

of all the gyms i’ve been to this is the worst one. The equipment is terrible, there’s rust on a lot of things. it’s always crowded so you can never really do what you need to do. They tell you that you can’t do something but then some many other people are doing what you were just told not to do. I cancelled my membership 12 days after signing up, which they do charge you for canceling. it’s not worth the lower priced monthly rate.

Been going to this location on and off for about three years now.

Pros: Great variety of machines, cables, free weights, etc. Much much better than Planet Fitness down the road. The diversity of the people at Youfit is great so depending on what time you go you won’t feel intimidated. I go at off times and there’s a great mix of bodybuilders, casual gym goers (like me) and seniors.

Cons: The cleanliness has definitely gone downhill in the last year or so. Machines frequently go down and they take forever to repair them. The stair steppers break frequently and sometimes both of them are broken at the same time. Seat cushions on the machines get removed inexplicably and they take awhile to replace. One time, all of the paper towels were out at every single spray station. Other times the spray will be out or the bottles broken. Not everyone is aware or familiar with gym etiquette but that’s not a huge deal. I’ll do the strength circuit sometimes and people will ignore the signs that it’s supposed to only be used for those actually doing the circuit, including the trainers.

Ultimately, this gym is a great value despite the cons and there’s definitely not a better gym around for the price, but if they got on top of everything with cleaning and keeping the machines in order it would be 5 stars, no doubt.

Update: One stair stepper is still out, the paper towels were out at one spray station, the spray bottle didn’t work at another, and the water filter status on the water bottle dispenser has been red for quite awhile now.
