After deciding I did not want to continue my membership, I was told to call a number to cancel, I called the number and it kept disconnecting my call, I tried to use their website to cancel and it kept telling me to call the number that kept disconnecting me. After putting in several requests on their website to contact me and still not receiving a call-back, I was told that I would need to come in to cancel and they would not be waiving the fees for my membership. Do not get a membership here as you will regret their lack of customer service.

Edit: After going in to cancel my membership, I was told that the account had been sent to collections, and that if I have any problems, I can contact their corporate office using a phone number that didn't work as she "just works there". I am appalled at the lack of customer service this company offers.

The facility and equipment is always clean. The staff are very friendly and professional. I had a few personal trainer sessions and I was impressed especially with the head Trainer Tyler and his knowledge base. It is a great place to workout after a long day at work.

I was told my membership was cancelled before I moved out of state evidently not true. I was then charged $50 for my yearly enrollment after moving to another state. I called and asked for a refund as I had cancelled my membership was told I would be called by a manager never happened. I called again about the issue and was told I needed to send a certified letter and $10 to cancel a membership I'd already been told was cancelled. I disputed the charges with my bank. Today I was called they couldn't run my card for my membership I told them I'd cancelled it and I had to disput the yearly enrollment charges with my bank was rudely told that doesn't cancel your membership with youfit we'll just send it to collections.

I moved from Orlando and this gym is a breath of fresh air! It’s not overly crowded (I was used to being packed in a gym like a sardine) and the staff is very friendly! A great place to get in a quick workout after a long day of work and get out without having to wait for equipment/machines.

Just moved here stopped in one day since I was in the area and upon after a tour I find out there are no classes at the location I told the one staff member that I am not interested in joining because they dont have classes. He gets a manager for some reason and I tell her that sorry I am not interested since they have no classes and then left.
THEY HAVE CALLED ME EVERY SINGLE DAY MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY FOR OVER A WEEK! I BLOCKED THE NUMBER BUT EVERY SINGLE DAY THEY LEAVE VOICEMAILS IT IS SO RUDE THAT AT THIS POINT I HAVE TO WARN PEOPLE!!!!

This club is sadly a mess and the equipment not much better. They’ve had some management changes and nothing has changed. BUT, today I was frustrated because the only piece of equipment I use that wasn’t taken, wasn’t functioning. I went to Victoria very frustrated, and Victoria, despite being fairly young, responded quickly, professionally and efficiently, calming my frustration with her demeanor and ‘what can I do to help’ attitude...AND PERSONALLY FIXED the machine so that I could use it. Thank you Victoria for being a bright light in a sometimes dim place.

This is a great neighborhood gym! The staff is pleasant, the gym and bathrooms are always clean. Jacob is a great trainer.

They are unjust with their fees and I was mislead into believing that I could cancel my membership before March 1st and not be charged a yearly fee. I canceled on February 13th and still had over $100 taken out of my bank account. I had two memberships for TWO months and got charged ANNUAL fees for both of them. I don't see how they can justify an annual fee for a 2 month membership.
When I contacted them about it, they refused to give me a refund.
I will never recommend them to anyone.
They respond to my reviews and say they're sorry and to contact them via email which I have done several times to no avail. No response and no offer to refund the money they unjustly took. I clearly terminated our contracts way over ten days in advance of the March 1st deadline I was told that I had.

This review is to recognize Nahshon Dukes, a trainer here that happened to be at the desk when my wife and I walked in to inquire about joining the club. Nahshon was very helpful in explaining the different membership options, answering all of our questions and being very positive about this location and the staff! During his time of helping us, he answered the phones, greeted people as they walked in and took care of members who came to the desk with questions. This is a great gym to work out in. Clean and well maintained. Only one machine (chest press seat needs some attention) not in tip top shape. No big egos, people just seem to come in and enjoy working out without all the usual distractions of some overpowering pill pumped trainers. Staff could look more the part but friendly and informative.

This is a cool gym. But the GM Larry makes it an awesome gym!!!!!!! It’s clean, with good equipment and he has trained his staff to be very nice and friendly. I travel from Bradenton to Sarasota just to visit his gym!! He should be placed over multiple places to run them all the same!!

Horrible gym - unprofessional staff, bathrooms broken for months at a time. Main floor dirty, not well kept. I am aware of one situation where their gym equipment caused a serious injury to a member. If considering joining, I would strongly suggest looking for other local options

I've been a member for over a year now, with a Lime membership, which gives me free access to any classes and one free guest (usually my husband or neighbor). The huge bay of machines and extensive free weight area works great for me--every piece of equipment I would ever use, kept clean and in great condition, and hardly ever a wait for them. The classes are great too. For my husband and me it's very worthwhile.

I was a member here for many years. I have to head out of town for a few months so decide to cancel my membership. I read the policy online and went in to cancel in person. I was informed there was a 10 dollar cancellation fee and that I had paid for first and last month when I signed up so I was ring charged AND pay by for a membership I couldn't use! They didn't think that was unreasonable.

I understand their position. CRUNCH GYM is just across the street, has MUCH BETTER facilities and trainers and is the same price.

Avoid YouFit if you don't like duplicitous businesses.

When I joined, I was "evaluated" and for reasons unknown to me, I signed up for a trainer. She also evaluated me and her opinion differed from that of the original. It was awful. I was not given training and only told to do the machines. (which I could have done for $10. BEWARE

The gym itself is alright. Not very big but has most of what you'll need for a workout. My complaint is regarding Sydney, one of their managers. She has a terrible attitude and does a great job at making a customer feel unwanted. My honest opinion.. Get rid of Sydney or at least give her a course in Customer Service and respect towards others.

There seems to be some silly comments here.....

I was in Lifestyles on their $49 multi-club and it was taken over by LA fitness. Both are high pressure sales, never let you cancel and overall completely unethical. I happened to 'google' fitness clubs in Sarasota and stumbled upon Youfit.

Visited a couple of them this w/end and they seemed great. Will join next week. The clubs are much smaller, don't have pools or group fitness rooms or personal trainers ....but the staff are so friendly and helpful and the eqipment seems plentiful and top quality.

If you want a basic cardio/resistance/free weights this place looks great. There are 2 membership plans and they are completely up fron about all the costs.

For the basic plan ....The price is absolutely unbeatable - $10 a MONTH. You pay a onetime $39 sign up fee, there is a cancellation fee of $25 (I think) and in the 2nd year the monthly fee goes up to $15 and is capped at that for life. This is also a single club deal.

I think the much better deal is Lime membership $19.99 month (capped forever)- NO sign up fee, free tanning and a fantastic "no-charge" guest policy. So you can effectively make this a couples membership, if you workout together, for no extra cost. Also it's a multi-club pass so you can go anywhere in FL. There are 3 here in SRQ

Compared to the Ripoff initiation fee at LA fitess ($149/249), the 60 day cancellation fee (afteryou send them a certified cancellation letter, otherwise they will ignore you and just keep charging you each month !!) and $12 PER guest visit - it's a no brainer.

The club has a bizarre color scheme purple/dark green which takes some getting used to, but my wife and I loved the place... sure beats LA fitness $50 a month.

We'll see how it works out ....
