I can’t believe they are still charging me for a gym that isn’t open. They haven’t been open since April due to Covid which is totally fine... but I’ve left plenty of emails to cancel because why would I pay for a gym that I can use. C’mon guys - is this how a company should operate?

Well it's true....this location is not re opening. I had to find this out after talking with someone from Youfit on Facebook! Can you believe it? Facebook! All these months and nothing from them...and then I see my CC statement and there's a credit from Crunch for the 3 months they have been closed. Crunch? So it was confirmed from the Facebook person today that Crunch now holds my account. lol Unreal. And honestly I liked this location...not the fanciest or busiest, but it got the job done.

I had to call the Largo location to find out that the Gandy location had been closed. Logged into my Youfit account and noticed that I had an outstanding balance of over $170. I never thought to contact them as other gyms were automatically freezing payments due to Covid-19 and because I had not been to the gym since early March as I was sick myself. Apparently they transferred our gym membership to Crunch around the corner. No calls, emails, nothing. Now I’m stuck with the hassle of trying to get in touch with someone in order to cancel my membership. From May to last week, they have attempted to charge my account over 10 times. Let’s just say I am not happy. Thank God, I use a prepaid card for this membership and not my actual banking account. Don’t ever do business with Youfit!! Go to LA Fitness, Crunch or wherever.

I signed up in march when they had a deal, but end up never goin due to the shut down for covid-19. So I ended up moving back to the east side of florida since I lost my job etc. They tried to charge me but since I had no money in my account they charged me 2 more times ( total of 3 times) causing me to be - 90$. I contact the branch and they told me to email, so I emailed and they told me to email another email. I did what they told me to even paid them, I paid I paid the - 90$ and the cancellation fee. I then got charge 3 times again ( 30$ each time) so I had to cancel my account with my bank for them to stop charging me. So if you sign up with any of their branches ask them about their cancellation process.

I used to like Youfit and have been going there for years, but the current situation showed the true colors of their culture. Youfit continuously charged customer accounts and provided no information on the status of their gyms or any plans to re-open. They are not issuing refunds at this time and said they would evaluate and decide if someone gets a refund on a case by case basis.
I have always wondered why every Youfit I’ve been to had such high turnover. This pandemic made it clear that they don’t treat their customers right and if they can’t even be there for the people that keep their business afloat, they certainly won’t treat their employees well.

Moving my rating down to a three because things need to change. Crunch is less than 5 mins away from this location. Marketing needs to increase to reflect and match the Crunch experience. Machines are constantly inoperable. Power/AC goes out all too often. Things like this can be addressed and prevented with better management. Due to COVID-19 all gyms closed, HOWEVER, all gyms are open again except Youfit. Management should have taken steps to ensure that the gym doors where open ASAP to keep up with competition and to give its members access which many of us are still paying for. On a more positive note...

I am visiting my son who lives in Tampa. I belong to a club in Cincinnati and my expectations are high. I was very impressed with the courteous staff and the amazing cleanliness of the facilityas well as the variety of equipment. I would highly recommend this facility.

My personal trainer is amazing. Chadwick makes sure that you learn proper form and exactly what each move focuses on. He educates while working you out. It's more of a focus for long-term not short. The location is always clean.

I have to agree with the negative reviews here. I was a multi-location member for a couple months. My company is moving me to Texas to open a branch there. I inquired if there was a YouFit near the city I am moving to and Nate, the "manager", advised no. Instead of understanding an uncontrollable customer issue and allowing me to close account with $10 closing fee, Nate proceeded to advise me of what the FINE PRINT says & told me I missed the cutoff by 4 days...so, I am on the hook for $50 more.
I have a Tampa staff of 51 whom I could have referred a few to this place. So much for customer service. This staff, especially Nate, is inexperienced.
Save yourself. Not worth the trouble. Go someplace else, that puts the customer first.

This is my least favorite youfit in the Tampa Bay Area. I have the lime card so I go to different locations based on my work schedule. It is very hot here, almost like they don’t have AC. I find myself dripping sweat just by warming up here, which I never do anywhere else. The weight section here is often very crowded unless you can come during the middle of the day, and even then sometimes it’s still busier than other locations. I also find the members at this location to have much worse gym etiquette than at other locations (I understand this is not the gym’s fault). There are often people here hogging equipment for long amounts of time and not reracking their weights. I only come here when necessary, but I try to avoid it.

AC out again! Happens a few times every summer since I’ve been here.

Cardio machines break down frequently but usually fixed promptly.

Most of the front desk is extremely friendly and customer centric...though a few bad players more focused on their books, games, chatting with rest of front desk and turning playlist to loud rap.

Other positives are not crowded, clean and cheap....and don’t have to dodge other patrons taking selfies like at Crunch fitness. Overall a good value and not interested in all the extra amenities.

My favorite local Silver Sneakers gym! It is clean and well equipped, and is usually not crowded when I go there. There is usually a shady spot to park and is easily accessible via Oakellar rather than Gandy.

Thank you you fit unfortunately I was on the Street Homeless but fortunately I was able to talk to one of the managers and they were understandable of my situation I was able to take showers which helps me get the services I need it to get into a place I was a member at YouFit in Tampa I know live in Michigan because of the opportunity I had to get things together got me into a place here in Michigan and also got me really acquainted with my son I appreciate it you did not judge me nor did she look down at me you have a wonderful gym with very professional kind and courteous staff God bless all of you

Clean and nice, but if you've been inside a Planet Fitness, you've been inside YouFit. It's nice vibe if you enjoy that, but it's not the kind of vibe I want to a gym. I enjoy a more casual vibe with people working out and grunting. Like Planet Fitness, there is no grunting allowed and so not really a gym for serious lifters.

Not super crowded and there's enough free room to do workouts on a mat. I enjoy coming here and feel like I can come at any time of the day and not be annoyed that there are too many people. The only thing I would change is that I would add wet wipes or maybe rags around the gym to clean the machines easier than the current paper towels and spray and/or hand sanitizer.

The people are some of the best parts of Youfit Gandy. My personal trainer Nate is my primary reason for going to the gym. People like Katie, the personal training manager and Chayse, the general manager are also great assets. The entire staff is always courteous and professional. The gym has plenty of cardio equipment, just enough machines and plenty of room for free weights. As a whole it's a little smaller than some other Youfits I've been in but it does the job. I would recommend giving it a try.

A little different looking than many gyms these days but don't let that fool you. There are plenty of cardio and weight training options. The staff is great, the trainers are awesome, it's well run. I drive 35 minutes from North Tampa at least twice a week for one of the trainers. That tells you how good they are and the gym is.

Worst customer service, my husband paid for personal training over $700. Told him he will always have his sessions once a member, now trying to get his sessions and no help. If I could give this club zero stars, I would. I started out loving the club and the staff and appreciated the fact that they’re the only club in town that you can find parking and a machine at 6:30PM on a weekday. Now I know why. They are absolute FRAUDS. I signed up for a three month personal training contract for almost $500 per month. I loved my personal trainer AJ. At the end of the three months, I was told the automatic withdrawals would stop. I’m getting laid off from my job and can’t afford to renew right now and they know that. What do they do? Continue to debit my checking account $216 every two weeks even after I fulfilled my contract obligation. If called and texted and request they stop. Did they? NO. Again today I got hit with another $216 even after speaking with the manager. Nice guys. Im a single mom. They jackasses couldn’t care less. It’s all about revenue. I’ve now had to cancel my debit card and dispute the charges with my bank and pay my attorney to send them a cease and desist letter. Beware!!!!!!!!!! Their personal training contract is a SCAM!! I’ve had personal trainers at several gyms and this has never happened to me before. I’m telling you, don’t be fooled. Take your money and your fitness elsewhere!!! By the way YouFit, if you would have just stopped debiting my account like you should have, I would have come back when my travel schedule calms down and bought another package. It’s sad that it had to come to this instead.

It's cheap. That's it's best feature. There's only one squat rack, two bench presses (and two inclines, but one has no weight racks and therefore, no weights). There are a lot of machines, and they are mostly well-maintained. There's a lot of different cardio equipment, including some new treadmills, but some of it is steadily sliding into disrepair. The staff is mostly very young. They do a pretty good job keeping things clean, and they usually keep things like paper towels stocked and trash cans empty. Overall, it's not a great gym, but it's cheap, and it's not terrible.

I want to warn people who sign up with this club that the people here will lie to you about your contract. I signed up in June for membership and three months of personal training. When I had just over a month of training left I gave my month notice that I was going to stop the training. My trainer talked me into doing every other week instead of stopping. I agreed but said that I did NOT want to do a three month contract again. She called Julie over to the computer because she did not know how to do that. I told Julie that I would not sign if it was a three month contract and she said that I did not have to worry about that because I would have done the three months by the time the new schedule started and I would be month to month. At the end of the month's notice my trainer left to work at a different Gym. I went in and said that since she left I wanted to go ahead and give my month notice. Two week later I see $80 come out of my account. I ask Julie about it and she looked it up and said that I had signed a step down contract to come once a week and pay every other week. I said no it was come every other week and pay once a month. She blamed the trainer who left by saying that she filled it out wrong. But Julie was the one who filled out the stuff on the computer. But said that I would only have one more payment to fulfill the month notice. Then they took two more payments out. When I contact them again about that they said that even if you do a "step down" contract it was still a three month contract but they call it month to month. PEOPLE that means if you make any changes to how often you see your trainer you are signing a new three month contract. I don't care if they call it a month to month or not. I had to put a stop payment on my checking account to stop them from taking anymore money out of my account. Now they are calling me every couple of days trying to get me to pay them more money. So I am telling you to beware.... Julie and the Manager will LIE to you about these contracts. When you leave block them from your checking account. And at this point I would not give them a MINUS 5 stars for lying to me.

I joined the south Tampa gym location about a month and a half ago. Youfit had a great promotion where you pay a set fee for a year without any extra fees or monthly charges. The price is great, even if I run into some random hidden fee at the end of the year period. What led me to post this negative review is my concern over the gym appearing to be over capacity almost every time I come into the gym. There are tons of machines and weights but it seems Youfit is bringing in SOOO many folks that I am constantly waiting to do anything. I find it amusing that Youfit's current commercials have one of the actors stating "stand around waiting for equipment while some mindless freak gives me a condescending stare? [shudders]" seeing is that I have had that exact experience at least five times in the past two weeks. It is unfortunate since the staff is very friendly and they keep the gym clean all the time. I hope they expand or something since I am tied to them for the better part of a year still.

Would not recommend this gym. The gym itself is fine, although small so often very crowded. My issue is with their billing practices and customer service. I went in to cancel my membership due to a medical reason and was told I could put my membership on a "free" hold instead. I planned on going back, so I agreed. Well the next month happened to be my annual dues month so I got hit for $40 plus my regular monthly charge. I called and told them and they said they'd refund the regular monthly charge. Never saw the refund, but the next month I got charged my regular amount again. Went in for a third time, to try to get the money refunded, and the charges didn't show on their end so the manager was rude to me, blamed the billing company, charged me another fee to cancel my membership, and told me to get my bank involved if I want my money back. If you ever want to stop using this gym temporarily, don't let them trick you into a "freeze", it's just another way for them to continue to keep your card on file. Just cancel your membership and rejoin later. After dealing with the customer service team to cancel, you'll probably realize you don't want to come back anyway. Hopefully now that my membership is cancelled, the charges will finally stop!

They are very deceitful as to the locations across the country. FYI they have very few if any in Colorado, Oregon & Washington. The closest one for me was over an hour away one way. Their cancelation policy is set up so they can make it very hard to cancel your membership and take more of your money. You have to cancel in person or via certified letter and only within their specified time frame. Any other fitness center would be better than with Youfit!

Basically, you get what you pay for. I'm still a member of the Carrollwood location. I really like most of the staff, however, there are hidden fees. They don't explain the contract- at least, that's what the former Carrollwood manager (Matt) did to me. READ THE FINE PRINT AND ASK QUESTIONS.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK INFO! They will take more than the amount you agreed to initially. NOTE: If you sign up for a trainer and then cancel, you will be charged for one month of sessions after you cancel. There is also a nonrefundable "activation" fee of $100 dollars to sign up for a trainer.

YouFit in South Tampa. It is a good price for a gym. You don't get any frills, such as, classes, trainers, pool, etc., but if your looking to lift weights and/or run on tread mill, this is the place. I've never had to wait to get on any tread mill or step machine. I would and have suggested this gym to a friend. My only concern is if I cancel my contract, it appears that I will have to pay to end it.
