I love Aqua Tots its the best swim school ever. The staff is so patient and considerate. My kids have learn so much and is not afraid of the water anymore. It's a blessing to do this while they are young. I would recommend this school to all parents it will be the best decision for your family.

There are 3 children for each trainer; the session is 30 minutes, so your child gets 10 minutes of time per session. Water Tots is charging roughly $25 per session that's a lot of money for 10 minutes of training. My grandson was there from April to Sept didn't really learn enough to survive if he fell into the water. He loves the water, but I now feel he is far more endanger because he loves the water, but is not safe in it by himself.
We stop going after they were having problems with the pools PH balance.

We’ve been bringing our son here for almost two years and he’s gone from being absolutely terrified of a pool to pure excitement everyday he has a swim lesson. All of the coaches are fantastic but we especially love Coach Cat and her ability to keep the attention of our short attention span kid. We’ve seen amazing progress!

I really wish parents would leave the two front rows of seats for parents who want to watch their children. All others too busy on their phones and laptops should sit in the back. This place would be better if they fixed the spin dryer, hair dryer, and the changing rooms(add one more curtain). My kiddos enjoy swimming here.

SAVE YOUR MONEY
We attended the first class. The place is so small for too many people, smells so bad, the pool was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the classes was so annoying for babies and toddlers. I recently moved from sandy springs and my son attended swim classes at Goldfish and the difference is to much, Goldfish has teachers with skills to teach babies in a fun way with many activities for 30 minutes lesson. The cancellation fee is high. Workers are to rude.

This business is one of the most inconsistent and non-communicative establishments I have ever dealt with. My son has missed multiple makeup classes due to their ever-changing policies, and his teacher is constantly being switched, making it nearly impossible for him to progress through levels.

On several occasions, we have arrived for class only to find the facility closed without any prior notice or communication. The lack of professionalism and consideration for customers’ time is beyond frustrating.

Once I have used every lesson I paid for, I will no longer support this business in any capacity. Furthermore, I will ensure that anyone I previously referred is made aware of these ongoing issues so they, too, can take their business elsewhere. The lack of organization, accountability, and basic customer service at this location is unacceptable.

We attended 1 class here and won’t be returning. Unfortunately, the facility does not meet our standards for cleanliness. Bathrooms filthy, observation window streaked with dirty handprints that looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months. Paint is peeling, grout is chipping. When I called to say we wouldn’t be returning because of these issues, I was told that their building was up for a remodel next. But most of these issues could be fixed by just CLEANING. I was denied a refund despite attending one class per their policy. I recommend doing a trial class if you’re skeptical, prior to paying the money. The girl on the phone was kind but cleanliness is a top priority for us. Swim class was mediocre.

I’ve been with Aqua Tots for about 6 months. My experience with my son’s instructor Shea has been incredible. She’s so amazing with kids. My son went from crying and dreading class, to being excited about swimming. He loves Ms. Shea, she’s very gentle and makes learning fun.

my son have been coming to aqua toys for 7 months I let them know I was leaving the country she still made me pay for half a month of lessons and my son has 10 makeup on the account and told me my son cannot use his makeup if he is not enrolled but some of the makes up are not due to me canceling it’s due to the facility clean up or maintenance so that’s not on me and why did I have to pay for half a month of lessons if my son not using them so basically the manager just wanted money and nothing else PLEASE RUN DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS LOCATION SHE COULDNT EVEN TALK TO ME BUT WANTED MORE MONEY FOR NOTHING 😠

If you want a safe great place for your kids to learn to swim head over to this location!! My grandsons swim there and have learned so much from them. I feel safe taking them to the pool, lake or beach due to the skills they have taught them. Shane is soo super amazing with the kids as well as the other instructors. The GM Lauren is a great asset to this business. She has the skills of knowing first hand how to make this place a safe family environment for all. I highly recommend aqua tots 😇

Disappointment at Aqua Tots Swim School Douglasville - A Management Misstep

I recently had the displeasure of dealing with Aqua Tots Swim School in Douglasville, GA, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of disappointing, largely due to the management, particularly the General Manager, Lauren.

Firstly, let's talk about the service. The lessons themselves are mediocre at best, but that's not the core issue here. The real problem lies in the management's approach, or rather, the lack thereof. Lauren, the General Manager, seems to embody the very essence of inefficiency and self-interest.

From the moment you walk in, there's a palpable sense of disorganization. Lauren's management style, or lack thereof, is evident in the way staff members seem undirected and often confused about basic procedures. It's as if she's more interested in maintaining her position than in actually managing or improving the school.

**On Laziness:** Lauren's approach to work can only be described as lazy. There's a noticeable reluctance to address concerns or improve the facility. Feedback, whether from parents or staff, seems to go into a black hole. It's clear she's content with the status quo, no matter how subpar it might be.

**On Worthlessness:** When it comes to adding value to the school or her role, Lauren falls woefully short. Her contributions to the school's operations are minimal, if not entirely absent. There's no innovation, no drive for excellence, just a routine that barely keeps the place afloat.

**On Selfishness:** Perhaps the most glaring trait of Lauren's is her selfishness. Every decision seems to be made with her comfort and convenience in mind rather than the welfare of the students or the reputation of the school. There's a distinct lack of community spirit or genuine care for the children's learning experience. It's all about maintaining her position with the least amount of effort.

In summary, Aqua Tots Swim School in Douglasville, under Lauren's management, has turned into a place where mediocrity is not just accepted but seemingly celebrated. If you're looking for a swim school where your child's safety and learning are prioritized, where management is proactive and engaged, look elsewhere. Lauren's leadership, or the lack thereof, has made this place a shadow of what a reputable swim school should be. Save yourself the frustration and find a place where the management isn't just a title but a commitment to excellence.

I don’t usually do reviews, but THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. If I could give zero stars, I would. The manager, I can’t remember her name was seriously rude and unhelpful. Total bad attitude that ruined everything. Save your time and don’t waste your money here.

Absolutely awful experience! The teacher (older heavy set Caucasian woman. Unfortunately did not get her name) was very uncaring and manhandled my 18 month old, who was obviously frightened and crying. My daughter and I both left in tears. It was a very traumatic experience for her.

We ended up using a private swim teacher who taught my daughter how to float in just 5 weeks. The private teacher was more expensive, but you get what you paid for. We live on a lake and I now have the peace of mind of knowing my daughter can float and swim in the water if anything were to happen.

Such a fun activity to do with my 9 month old grandson. The staff is friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. I appreciate the emphasis on best practice safety measures to be implemented both at the school and at home. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is very nice and the facility is nice. My only concern is that I’ve had my 3 kids in swim class for 2 years now and so far the younger two are still not really swimming (they were 2 and 3 when we started). Sometimes I feel as though some instructors just go through the motions instead of working intentionally with the kids - on the chance we can get scheduled with the good instructors then they make progress! (Adrian, Hailey(sp?), to name a few of the good ones) 🙃 I know every kid is different but it is disheartening to pay for so long and see little progress. If I had to recommend, I’d say wait until they’re older and then take them so they learn faster.

I’ve sent many referrals to Aqua Tots and never gotten any bad feedback. My friends have all been extremely happy with the staff inside and outside the pool. Lauren is really doing a good job as the general manager and continues to try and build a really strong staff. I hope you will all consider referring a friend or family member to give your child a good strong relationship with the water.

The staff at aqua tots have cared for my son like he was part of the crew. He loves to help them any way he can just as much as he likes being in the water. He’ll come home after a day of being there and tell me how he wished he could go everyday and even maybe work at the tots one day. Whether it’s the crew in the water saving life’s, or the awesome girls at the desk, they get to go home knowing that they can be proud of what they do. I also am proud to be a part of aqua tots. With that said, let’s be a GOOD role model for our children and to be polite and caring to those who have the pleasure of knowing them.

To say this place is a disgrace is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! A manager (Lauren) who is supposed to be training someone how to do a position is too busy off getting a tattoo done when she's supposed to be at work. Leaving a new person to train themselves. Leaving her team high and dry when the pool goes out. Refuses to answer calls and texts as the head manager. Another manager (Dominik) to drop a iPad in the water, refuses to go after it. Doesn't take responsibility and ask who else can we blame this on to get them fired? It's okay to write someone up because they don't do their job or is allowed to tell a manager no, This is the kind of place you are taking your children to! When the pool goes out and parents aren't being called in time, they are getting in cold pools. Coming out with purple lips...For the older employees to say they don't like new hires, please grow up! This is a place of business! You aren't there to fight, complain or just write someone off because they are a new hire! You are there to do a job and make your customers happy. I hope aqua tots does better by their employees and their customers!!

I absolutely love love love this place! Cannot say enough good things about this place! I hate seeing so many bad reviews as I've never had a bad experience. We've been doing lessons 2 days a week for 6 months now. I will say it is expensive, but one of the best investments we've ever made. I didn't expect to still be in lessons this long, but I think that comes down to each child's skills and ability to catch on. Every instructor we've had has been great! Shane is amazing and has put in so many hours and pushed through a number of tears from my son.

Their first priority is safety safety safety! In the beginning the first thing they teach is to jump in and roll onto their backs. This way if they ever fall in their first instinct is to roll over and float until someone can get to you. Even outside of lessons this summer my son couldn't have fun until he would jump in and either float on his back or swim to safety. He loves when he achieves a new skill. His face is so proud. These lessons oddly have helped him in other sports. It's helped with his confidence, hand eye coordination, strength and doesn't flinch as bad when a ball is coming at him allowing him to catch it better. It was unreal how much it helped him in baseball, soccer and football.

Per the comments about make ups, card charging, cancelations and class times, I've never had an issue. Once a card I meant to take off was charged but they immediately refunded and used the other card. Took the wrong one off the account so it wouldn't happen again. If you think you're going to cancel anytime soon but aren't sure, you can go to a month to month plan. At the end of the month you will be taken out of the class/s they're in but can just put in new ones. You have 2 weeks after your plan is terminated to use your make ups. I've only had them cancel on 2 occasions. One was for a leader day at six flags, remember they're open 7 days a week. We were notified plenty in advance. The other was due to an accident in the pool. That can never be expected. I try to be kind to that issue as with little ones things happen. If I give my child grace then that should be extended to others. We have no issues using our make ups. I've only had to cancel a make up once and I was given that back. My son was sent home from school that day which they understood. Now, I can't speak to those who may abuse that as it only happened once for us. Per class times, I think I've only seen it cut short by a couple mins a few times, maybe the instructor needed to use the restroom before their next class, things happen. On the other end, I've seen them go over making sure all kids got the same amount of time. It's 4 kids to the classes. Occasionally it's 5 but that's usually under certain circumstances and with senior instructors or another instructor present. When a new instructor would be leading a class "solo", someone would be watching them and ready to help when needed, which I've seen them step in and assist. They don't release them on their own until they're fully ready. When they aren't I've seen a senior instructor step in and co-lead the class. I want to say I've canceled relatively late before and still got the make up, but there again I wouldn’t have abused it.

They did free lessons for water safety month. Taught them about safety and what to do when you're in the water and fully clothed. Also, did some skill building if they're the one saving someone. They know my son the second he walks in the door and know his red dye allergy and his love for the blue dum dums lol.

He had to be dragged in kicking and screaming the first few times. Broke my heart as a mama. A month later that started to subside. Now he knows when he's about to be called, eagerly lines up and sometimes is inside the door before they call his name.

Thank you to anyone who read to the bottom. It is long but I did want to take a few mins to share all the positives we've experienced!! I highly recommend to everyone!

When we started at Aqua-Tots, my son was afraid to get his face wet. Two years later, he’s a class or two away from being a level 8 swimmer! I absolutely love the progress I’ve seen in my son, I only wish they had more schedule option for the higher level swimmers. I completely understand that their focus is on the beginners (my daughter is a level 3 and there are so many options, I can always match her schedule to his). Overall I’ve enjoyed our experience and I love how nice and accommodating the staff and instructors are.

I actually got the impression she was trying to discourage me by saying they only teach 5-12 year olds. I was inquiring about classes for a 12 year old. I had to go back on the website to find out the times and dates available for myself. She would not give me the information over the phone or email it to me. Not very customer friendly 😒. DON'T BRING YOUR CHILD HERE! My child started aqua tots when he was 1 years old and I kept him there for 1yr 1/2 and he never learned how to swim. My husband kept saying it was a waste of money and begging me to remove him becuse he felt like our son wasn't moving ahead and he wasn't learning anything but I didn't listen and kept giving them chances. Every weekend we were doing the same exact exercises from a piece of paper the instructors go by however, my son still doesn't know how to swim. The monthly tuition is too much for a child not to learn how to swim. They change instructors almost every week and the last instructor wasn't that friendly to be dealing with children and that's what made me finally leave. I usually don't do reviews on businesses but I wouldn't want another parent to waste their hard earned money on a place that doesn't teach anything.

My GrandBlessing's 1st swim lesson at 6 months old & we could not have been more pleased with our visit.

Megan & Jamela were working behind the counter who gave mom & dad all information they needed for the swim lesson. The process for pre, during & after lessons is easy & efficient. The pool was well cleaned as with the restrooms, changing & sanitizing stations. The staff rotates in up keeping & resetting all areas of the school. Especially the pool that is sectioned off for different age groups.

Jordan, was the swimming teacher who took wonderful care of my Grand & did such an amazing job simultaneously. Only one parent is allowed in the pool during the lesson. However, there's a huge glass window with plenty of seating to view lessons.

The entire staff was really welcoming & kid friendly. They worked well together while constantly on the move in assisting, watching, safeguarding & cleaning.

Thank you again Jordan!

I would strong Not recommend Aqua Tots. I have 3 girls that was enrolled for 2.5 years during the summer and every year I had hopes that they would improve. My girls love the water, however the classes was to large it is impossible to teach 5 students in 30 mins. The last year I was fed up with the policy, cutting class time short and cancelations, I eventually pulled my girls out. I was able to find independent instructor during the early part of the year. And to top the major headaches I had to endure, I was advised my children has to be fully enrolled to use there make up sessions. I will be escalating this issue. Please do not waste your money nor time like I did all because my kids love the water. Did not learn anything.

If you don't cancel ahead you lose your money. It's a hour away, just not a Happy customer I'd like to be reimbursed

SUPER PATIENT instructors. Only 1 visit thus far but the joy on my daughter's face was enough. Pardon the pun, but as a mom, you kinda just want to "dive" in and help cuz that's your BABY! ...BUT NO! They know exactly what they're doing and I'll just sit in my chair and watch. LITERALLY...watching the instructor can very likely teach you something also. They're great!

We’ve only had two lessons so far but both have been wonderful! Coach Shane does amazing with my son and I love watching them interact. The difference I saw in my sons skills in just one week was mind blowing to me! Also, the staff are wonderful! So friendly! So helpful! Always smiling! It’s a great atmosphere and I love being apart of it!

My child has only been going for a few weeks and we both love it! She is so excited about classes and I love the personalized attention. I’m not sure if the 4:1 ratio is the norm or due to COVID but I love it. The teachers are great and the kids respond to them well. The waiting area is nice and you have the perfect view of your child while they are in the pool.

I love this place! The instructors really care about the children and take the required time to propel them to the next level. I've seen my daughter's confidence rise exponentially, since her first class. I am grateful for their expertise, patience, and compassion as my daughter continues to learn this new skill.

My son has been going to Aqua Tots in Douglasville for almost 2 months now, and we could not be happier with our experience here. He literally asks to go swimming every single day. The staff members are all friendly and helpful, and the instructors are so caring and patient. Ms. Katherine is the BEST! It is very evident that they know and love what they are doing. I am also very pleased with the safety precautions during these uncertain times. Everyone who enters get a temperature check, only one parent is allowed inside, face masks/coverings are required, and chairs are spread out and sanitized after each person. They even have a sitting area outside so additional family members can watch the lessons. We are so pleased with this location, and we will definitely stay enrolled in swim lessons for many years to come.

The teachers there are really wonderful. My daughter did not want to go under water. She is 2.5 years old. One of the teachers took her aside and worked with her to help her. We have gone 5 times now. I appreciate the techniques that they have to help the children learn water safety and have fun at the same time.

My son goes there once a week. They check temps. Have seats spaced out as far as they can and have seating outside. Only allow one parent in with the kids. Require facemasks. And instructors have face shields. Over all I am very satisfied. Only thing is it's hard to get a reschedule. I call and leave messages but no one ever gets back to me.

Me and my children absolutely love Aqua Tots! My youngest, Kobe, started in March and has made so much progress. His teacher Ms Catherine is so awesome with him! He wants to go to swim class every day!! My oldest Jayell started after watching Kobe in his class, and realizing how much fun and how much more he could learn (he knew how to swim, but not specific techniques), and he loves swimming and all the teachers he's had!! Highly recommend to any and all parents!!

LOVE THIS LOCATION AND INSTRUCTORS!!!!!!!
I would have to say that my son has learned so much since he has been in Aqua-Tots. My son is only two years of age and one day while my mother and grandmother decided to take him for a walk he decides that he was going to jump in the lake. Luckily he he didn't swallow any water and was able to kick his way back up in order for my grandmother to be able to grab him by the shirt. I have been beyond happy with the services and he absolutely loves his coach Christy at the Douglasville,Ga location. As a parent that was a nightmare that you never would want to hear that your child has drown, but I was fortunate that he was able to remember what he was taught from his classes and he will continue to take these classes as long as possible.

( no stars) This has been the WORST swim lesson experience ever! The facility is cute and the staff comes off to be very organized when you sign up but the experience was a waste of money and time! In one month my son was only able to attend one class for the month due to they cancel classes so often and 1 hr before class is about to start!!!! They offer make up classes but they hard to get into and they get cancel as well and you only have a certain amount of time to make up the class ! I really wish I would have signed my son up somewhere else because basically he has not learned anything ( waster of time) and the investment was a lost because I paid the full monthly price for 1 DAMN CLASS!!!!!

The Douglasville location girls bathroom smell like pee. Every week we went😭 It makes me wonder how clean is it ?🤷🏽‍♀️

Overrall the lessons space seemed small to me for group lessons. Typically short 30 min. Good for babies Basically. No one older than 4.

Also i didn't like they cancellation policy; basically They will bill u if you cancel.... You Must notify 30 days b4 u plan to stop. So be careful. The coaches were kids friendly 😉 at least.

Went for a trial class with my 17 month old son yesterday. He loves being in the water but the instructor made it fun while keeping focused on teaching. I like that there’s only a 4:1 ratio so the instructor is able to give some time to each student. The pool is warm. I gave a 4 star because there isn’t much privacy. The pool is literally at the entrance. You walk in and you can watch the classes and parents are piled up in the waiting area. Wish the facility was bigger however, it is affordable so looking forward to attending more lessons.

I would love to take the opportunity to RAVE about the Douglasville Aqua-Tots. My littles (5 and 2) took swimming lessons with a different company the entire summer last year and learned little to nothing. We decided to take a more aggressive approach this summer and enrolled them in Aqua-Tots' 5 day a week fast track course. They have only been taking classes for 2 weeks and their progress is nothing short of amazing! Although both kids loved playing in the water, neither were comfortable with the idea of even putting their face under... now they are both jumping in! They have gained so much confidence from participating in these classes, they're both floating and the oldest has started swimming!

Now that they are a bit more comfortable at the pool, we too can relax a bit. I'm excited for them to be able to enjoy themselves but most importantly be able to save themselves should they ever have to and they are definitely learning these tools in this class. The staff is friendly and accommodating and their teacher (Ms.Mya) is patient, kind and great with the littles! We decided to enroll them in the fast track for 2 additional weeks because we are so very impressed. These classes are worth every penny!!

I am giving 2 stars in honor of the front desk people who are pleasant... most of the times. This place is accessible to me, I don't know of any place here in Douglasville that is offering swimming lessons apart from them. If there is another one, I'd take my son there in a heartbeat. First, it is hard to get a schedule, especially if you have an emergy or something and you can't make it to your appointment. They can only look at what's available for that week, not the next week... and most of the times, they have nothing available. Really???? Is that all they can tell me after collecting tuition from me a month in advance??? Is this even a legitimate thing to do??? I have 2 private lessons and 2 group lessons that I want my son to make to make up but cannot, simply because they have no available schedule. Also they tell you 30 mins lessons- but in reality, it's only 25 mins. They let them get out of the pool 5 mins short to rinse. I get that, but that's not a part of the 30 mins that I paid for. I paid for swimming lessons and not for rinsing. And rinsing takes only 1 minute or less. I understand why it is hard to keep the area clean because kids are dripping water everywhere but it can be at least improved. And be forewarned: it would take 30 days after you write a notice before it could take into effect. Yet, it doesn't take them that long to deduct money from your account. Whoever owns this place, if she or he is not aware how bad her or his facility is, needs to stick her neck into this place and make some positive changes because the positive reviews are drowned out by the negative reviews. And I can see why.

SOME of the employees at aqua tots act as if they aren't getting paid to be there. The teachers cancel on a few hours notice, There is only ONE shower in the girls bathroom. the changing rooms look as if they are never cleaned, the red chairs in the lobby are dirty & have spiders underneath them(which goes to show how clean the lobby is), there are 4 kids to every teacher & each class is 30 minutes so that's about 7 1/2 minutes per class per child for $148 a month. Sometimes when a teacher cancels they will put your child in an already full class of 4 and make it 5 children to one teacher giving the child even less time to learn.

High turnover! Everytime we got comfortable with a teacher she left. Leaving us with a new person who barely knew what to do and a waste of money because my child wasn't learning much due to a lack of experience with each new teacher. Not to mention the lack of trust my son felt with each new person. He's already not that comfortable with water which is why we enrolled him. Had the same problem 4 yrs ago when my oldest went there. Unfortunately, that's the closest swim school which is the ONLY reason we tried it again. Too many young people working there. I've never taken any of my children out of a sport or class without being asked how they could possibly fix the problem. Instead she looked over and said "she's taking her son out because so and so is leaving". Unprofessional!!! After I clearly said "we've have too many teachers in a short period this isn't working for us"

Honestly, ZERO stars. Hate that they cancel lessons within 24 hours then they don't allowed us to cancel with 24hours even when kids get sick. If they are charging us that much they can have backup teachers having ready for any lessons. I don't care if they were not available at that time, then they should have keep more back up teachers. All the kids excitement and my time, energy and money, wasted to trash can. Very disappointing. ONLY reason we are going to Aqua tots, is because we don't have any other places to learn swimming around here. I will look for it harder. I am very very mad. Not happy at all.

Despite some teething problems when Aquatots first opened, I'm very happy with my sons progress here, he started at 18 months swimming with me in the water with him and now at almost 5 he is in level 6, it gives me great peace of mind when we are at the pool in summer months and around water in general. Swim instructors frequently change, but front desk staff Johni & Jasmine remain constant, they are very attentive and always go out of their way to meet the needs of the customers, I've experienced it first hand and I've noticed it with others. I look forward to watching my son graduate through all the levels at Aquatots.
