I started practicing with Marsha at Balance over a decade ago. Marsha has created a dynamic and friendly community where everyone is welcomeβfrom absolute beginners to more experienced practitioners. Marsha is a knowledgeable and compassionate teacher who meets students where they are and then helps guide them to where they want to go in their practice. This is definitely not a one-size-fits-all studio or practice! Marsha has a deep understanding of anatomy and yoga philosophy and she provides thoughtful suggestions and adjustments tailored to a studentβs individual practice. I can truthfully say that I have experienced some of the happiest and most fulfilling moments of my life with Marsha at Balance Yoga. I always look forward to practices with Marsha and my fellow Balance yogis. I would encourage absolutely anyone to give Ashtanga yoga a try with Marsha at Balance! You will be astonished by the positive effects even after the first practice, but even more so by the transformation that comes from a sustained practice over time.

I have been coming to Balance Yoga Atlanta for over 3 years and consider this my home shala. Having been fortunate enough to practice Ashtanga yoga at shalas throughout the U.S. and across the globe, I recognize this as the finest place I have practiced. Whether you are a brand new student or a seasoned practitioner, Marsha always has great advice that improves everything from asana to breathing to motivating your practice. I highly recommend Marsha and Balance Yoga!!!!

I absolutely love practicing Ashtanga at Balance. Marsha and Kathy hold space everyday for students to come in and do whatever necessary for their personal practice. Ashtanga can be a practice of patience and intensity so having teachers who have a non-judgmental approach makes it easier to flow through the practice. I've been attending now for almost a year but I've practiced Ashtanga in many states and even different countries and quite honestly - Marsha and Kathy carry the Mysore tradition in the best way I've seen thus far. If you're interested in learning more about the practice please pop in. :-)

I love this place. Showed up on labor day in 2016 (they were the only yoga school open) for a Mysore Ashtanga drop in and got hooked. The teachers are trained in Mysore India at the Sri K. Pattabhi Jois Institute, and teach in accordance with Mysore tradition, but are not overly dogmatic.
The community here is great, and students practice at all levels, all ages. A beginner will be given instruction at a level of detail you won't find in typical led classes. More advanced students will be invited to practice what would never be offered in your typical vinyasa class.
Due to the nature of Mysore style (practice at your own pace), classes times are much more flexible than led classes, which makes it way easier to stick with a consistent practice. I highly recommend Balance for anyone - newbies, advanced yogis, teachers, young, old, skinny, fat, whatever.

I've practiced Ashtanga for several years, as well as other formats. Balance offers a space to practice where the instructors are very observant encouraging and extremely helpful. As a newbie to Ashtanga, I felt comfortable. The instructors meet you where you are.

I practice here almost every day. The teachers are amazing and will meet any student at any level at their level. Their schedule is also extremely accommodating, I can only practice at night and they're the only Ashtanga studio in the area that offers Mysore at night almost everyday of the week. On top of all that the community of students are supportive and kind. Definitely the place to be if your looking to start or further develop a meaningful yoga practice.

I found Balance 12 years ago after a cycling accident and a broken wrist. I thought yoga would be something that would help me regain strength without the "fear" factor of getting back on a bicycle in Atlanta traffic. Little did I know how engaged and challenged I would become!! Ashtanga is truly a transformative practice. I have been so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community as it has grown and evolved. Marsha and Kathy are caring and supportive teachers who truly embody the spirit and lifestyle they share with others. They are wonderful examples of what Pattabhi Jois meant when he said "do your practice and all is coming". They "do their practice" daily in their lives and in the Shala and supporting their students in their individual practices!

I have been a student at Balance yoga since 2008. Although I had taken yoga classes around town and at local gyms, nothing compared to the experience of taking classes with the knowledgable & inspiring teachers at Balance yoga. Whether you are a student completely new to yoga or have been practicing many years, you will be met & appropriately challenged right where you are. Beautiful studio, knowledgeable & experienced teachers that are always students themselves. Also, such a lovely community of students!!! Balance yoga is fantastic!

Balance yoga is the place to be! There are several yoga studios closer to me but I drive 45 minutes almost every day of the week to practice with Rebecca. She is always willing to help and not afraid to push you further, which is what someone like myself needs! Everyone is always so welcoming and they all give off positive vibes on the reg! Some days I wake up feeling very down, but the second I start my practice with Rebecca, I swear all my problems go away! I couldn't ask for a better yoga instructor or positive influence in my life!
They have recently moved to a new location and the studio is fantastic, much bigger and so many more classes are offered. No matter who you are or what your reason for practicing yoga is, there is a class for you.
Balance yoga gets 100 stars in my book!

I took two different classes while I was in town for work. Both instructors were very helpful (great alignment cues and adjustments) and kind and the classes were both amazing. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Atlanta so I can visit the studio again!

Balance Yoga is a cozy and friendly little yoga studio. I attend Vinyasa classes by Jennifer and I cannot speak more highly of her. She keeps a close eye on everyone, correcting us when necessary. Although it is a group class I feel like it is a private lesson since she gives us choices according to our capacities. With good music and ever changing poses, the class is never boring. I have also gone to classes with Rebecca and she also is wonderful.
