Great experience at BBSS. The assistant manager is fantastic and the coaches are top-notch! We have been coming for several months with our daughter and it’s amazing to watch her progress. Brought my daughter here starting at 10 months old. The infant classes were great for conditioning her to being in deep water and getting submerged. Because we started early, she has never been afraid or uncomfortable in the water. I suggest parents to sign up for spring classes as the summer classes are usually full. And be aware that vouchers for make-up classes expire. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the facilities are clean. Very satisfied coming here! Hope to come back soon once our busy life settles.

I started taking my daughter here last month Hazel and ive seen so much progress!! She closed her mouth under water and didnt drink it thru nose nor mouth during our recent florida vacation and said her swim teacher told her to do this at the pool !! She can also float or thred the water and wont go under and she is 3 years old and ive only gone there 1 month. Im pretty happy with their work. Im also happy they arent teens teaching the kids but adults !! I also like their showers and large changing rooms and my favorite part is that the kids can paint with different colors in this huge coloring table while they wait to be called for their lesson. They are also very accomodating with make ups and they are so sweet to us and my daughter!

We love Big Blue Swim School! My son is 4.5 and has no fear of the water. We told the coaches at Big Blue that we wanted his skills to increase to his level of bravery so that he could be more independent in the pool. He has learned so much in such a short amount of time. He went from swimming with a puddle jumper to independently swimming with no assistance in maybe 5 sessions max. All the coaches are very patient with the kids and give them individual attention.

I recently left a 5 STAR review for the Briarcliff location, where we had a consistently positive experience. After relocating to Johns Creek, we’ve attended this location for the past three weeks—and unfortunately, the quality has not matched what we previously experienced.

The facility is noticeably outdated, with rusted benches in ALL of the changing stalls—something I find concerning, especially with my child barefoot in those areas. The amenities also feel neglected. The same worn coloring sheets have been out for weeks, and the provided markers don’t work.

These may seem like small details, but they matter when creating a welcoming environment for kids.
At Briarcliff, the staff went the extra mile they had connect 4, cornhole and bubble machines going on the Entry and Exit of Class they even gifted the kids Ballons and sickers after EACH SESSION.

My biggest concern is the lack of consistency in swim instructors. My son has had a different instructor EVERY session, making it difficult for anyone to assess his progress accurately.

He’s been with Big Blue since July 2024 and was thriving—yet here, they wanted to demote him back to the beginner class based on a single instructor’s brief interaction. One instructor, in particular, was overly aggressive and even ripped a bandage from my son’s finger during class without knowing what was underneath—an inappropriate and careless action, especially not knowing my son's sensitivity.

To make matters worse, I was told I’d need to get in the water and teach my son the Bright 1 material MYSELF. If that’s the expectation, I might as well be the instructor I find that request unacceptable due to the fact that I have spend over thousands of dollars with this company.

I’ve since WITHDRAWN my son from this location, and he is now happily enrolled at Aqua TOTS. Based on our experience, I would NEVER recommend the Johns Creek location to other families.

Two years since we started the classes and our kid loves it here. The instructors are very kind and work well with kids of all temperament. They are patient. Our daughter's instructor Miss Amaya, is nothing but great! While our little one is struggling with some health issues, Miss Amaya makes sure to meet her where she is, making her feel strong and capable. She treats her in a lovely way and makes sure that the training is fun and challenging for her, while not being something she can not accomplish.
