I love the atmosphere of crunch. I love that there's other abundance of machines and it's rarely ever busy for long. Additionally, I appreciate the maintenance in the gym and maintaining cleanliness. On the other hand, the Manager Brian does not like people and it shows. The way he talks on the phone, his tone and attitude is very rude and demeaning. I understand the gym is a loud environment, it's fast place and have a lot of people working out, but that does not mean you're professionalism quality goes down. Not even just him a lot of previous and current employees have this idea where if you don't sign up for training or if you're not someone there to socialize it's a problem. I think the culture needs to be adjusted gym cultures already tough for people. I feel like Crunch has an opportunity to fix it if they could just reevaluate their social and professional skills.

Hello, I wasn’t gonna share a review because I’m not the type to do that . But after looking at ALL of the bad reviews that had the same problem as me I thought I would add my experience. The manager Brian was absolutely so rude . I have been trying to cancel for months and had called multiple times to figure out how to cancel and no one had informed me I had to go in person or mail a letter in. I’m a broke college kid so I already don’t have a lot of money. My card was being charged hundreds of dollars after trying to cancel for 4 months. I tried to call today after getting charged again after calling the establishment a month or so ago , which I was told that they would cancel it when they did not.
Brian picked up the phone and told me that I was basically lying because no one at the store would’ve told me that I could cancel over the phone and that they would’ve told me to come in person. That just was not the case with previous phone calls and when I tried to explain that to him, he very aggressively explained to me how the “real world worked” with paper work and finances like I was a child. He was like invalidating everything I was saying which I think is a little ridiculous as a general manager to have such poor people skills and be so aggressive. I was not trying to be disrespectful in anyway I just have had this back and forth issue with crunch trying to cancel my plan for months. He was incredibly rude and right off the bat got really aggressive saying that what I was saying wasn’t true. It left me very frustrated and lowkey upset.
Well, it’s safe to say I wouldn’t ever come back here and I would be cautious with starting a membership . Maybe Brian was just a little upset about all his negative reviews about the same thing :(((( it’s real sad you’d think things would’ve changed. Now I’m praying that I actually can finally end this mess.

5 stars for ShortiiFiit! I go to multiple classes a week and the Barbell class with ShortiiFiit deserves a 100/10. She does everything with you while making sure you have good form and is not just screaming on top of her lungs above the music. It was just therapeutic and I know I had a GREAT workout in just 30 mins.

Went to share my concerns and the manager brian was soooooo RUDE & has horrible customer service skills!!! He wasn’t trying to assist me or let me talk. I was trying to cancel my membership because my account kept being charged. Why is my card declining but yall are able to charge every month? Doesn’t make sense. Then my account has more than enough money on it so why would it even decline?! They charge me 29.99 this morning and now there’s still a $10 fee on there. I asked him could he remove the fee and he said no he wouldn’t do it. Then he had the nerve to tell me that they have thousands of members that don’t have that issue and as I explain to him, there’s also thousands of members that have the same complaint as me as far as Crunch charging them excessively for unnecessary late fees. As I told him, I’m not here to go back-and-forth with him. I just need him to handle what I need to handle so I could be on my way. He still continue to say little things. Then calling customer service billing was a waste of time.

I gave a 1 star because you have to click at least one. This gym deserves a 0. I cancelled in early June and Crunch is still trying to charge me for July. The gym has been hot because they were having A/C issues in late spring. The last time I was there I cancelled my membership—because it was so hot and crowded that it took me over 20 minutes of waiting to get on a leg extension machine. I see a charge on my account and I haven’t been a member since June 6. I just tried to contact someone today but to no avail. Now I’m told I need to go in to cancel. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE ON EASY CANCELLATION. The key is don’t even bother signing up for membership. This is ridiculous. I am not paying for another month. Maybe someone will call when they see this review.
I was just charged for the month of July. I will add to my review every month I am charged. Now I’m hearing they are breaking into vehicles in the parking lot.

Due to Top Management, I just saved $148 yearly by downgrading my services from Peak to Base monthly plan. There is an $20 service fee associated with downgrading. My issue:I was charged multiple late fees for the month of July. My yearly dues were applied. ( my fault: I didn’t account for them) I am a full-time college student as well as a disabled veteran, i’m on a fixed income.I would like my service day to change from the 29th to the 1st. To avoid any issues with payment. I don’t understand why it’s such a big issue. I can’t understand why this can’t be resolved.
Come next July, I no longer want to be a member at this gym. I don’t like the way I was being spoken to during this interaction By management.

It's a like playing where's Waldo when using free weights, always out of paper towels, fights almost every month if not more, canceled my membership and they still charged me the following month with documentation when I canceled. I signed up for the three months kickoff training program after I I finish my training for three months I I stopped training I talk to my trainer and the manager, and they continue pulling money out from my credit card.$270 after the cancellation form being signed there is a date when they’re supposed to take your last payment, I tried to talk to the manager several times her name is Grayson and she she said she was going to refund the money but never did and when I try to talk to her again, she just completely ignores me. They are very dishonest people.

Most popular gym in town…. That I haven’t been able to use because there’s always a 1.5 hour wait for childcare even though I pay extra for it. So I’m paying extra to go home and run around my yard and do pushups etc.

While I’m at it since this has been months of things like this and there’s no changes. The trainers suck. There are 2 maybe 3 that are even in shape. I don’t know if any of them even studied to be in this line of work. The spin classes are not spin classes. That little guy hasn’t looked into cycling at all, and the workouts he runs achieve no goal other than maybe making a few people tired.

Can’t do much about this but the amount of time wasted waiting for someone to sit on a machine and stare at their phone is insane.

The bathrooms are dirty. The staff is rude. Can’t wait to apply to leave and hit every single hidden fee in existence.

This is the most well-equipped gym I’ve ever been to, and it’s incredibly clean. I usually go at night during my lunch break, and even when it’s busy, there’s a culture of letting people work in with you, which is how it should be everywhere.
Everyone I’ve interacted with, including staff and members, has been friendly and respectful. The locker room and bathrooms have always been clean and fully functional. I haven’t done any classes or personal training, so I can’t speak to those, but the overall facility is well-maintained.
There’s music playing throughout the gym, which adds to the atmosphere even though I usually wear headphones.
There is plenty of parking, never had issues there either.

Never been one to write a bad review but this one is well deserved. I cancelled my membership in January, they told me that they would have to charge me with the next month and the annual dues (which I understood due to the agreement you sign). However they have continued to charge me monthly and only just now 6 months later did they fix it.

If you’re looking for a decent gym that’s extremely busy then this place is great, but the fact that they did that showed me how shady of an establishment they are. Watch out.

I was in the gym recently, and I saw a work out machine open so I jumped on it to keep pace…Some guy started cursing me and acted as if he wanted to fight me. I didn’t see anyone on it or his gear. It escalated until I offered to hear his complaints outside respectfully! I feel as if I would have been blamed for having to protect myself from a moron. I have never had such a bad experience at any gym ever. I think the gym is great but there is not enough support staffing to monitor the massive crowd that becomes a bit lawless due to the lack of staff. I like the gym and the lay out, I don’t blame the gym or staff, I simply hate feeling like I need to be “ready for anything” when I just want to work out!!!

I’m an avid gym goer with several memberships. Haven’t gone here in about a year so finally cancelled in person (especially since they started charging me more than I originally signed up for). What they didn’t tell me is they were also going to charge an additional annual fee then continue to charge my account late fees… after I’ve already cancelled.
Just make it right. I’ve paid so much to this gym that I never go to. In the future, I’d probably would have come back but because you are being a jerk and making this process difficult, I won’t. I hope you realize gyms have high turnover rates but if your decent people would come back.
Don’t recommend this gym. It’s literally the epitome of bad raps for gym memberships. As I’m reading the reviews, I’m not the first to complain of this or this rude GM.

Holy Shrek dude. These people trap you into a subscription, and don't let you break it unless you wait the time or you have a documented injury from a doctor. All of the free weights are NEVER organized. I have to spend 90% of the time I have looking for a matching set. None of the weights are EVER out in order. Called here to see if I could cancel my husband's gym membership since he can't use the gym due to him having open heart surgery. Spoke to the manager who said that if my husband wrote a note explaining why he wanted to cancel his membership that he would put down the reason as medical since my husband isn't up to working out at the moment. Sent the email over to the manager who told me that he would cancel it for me so that I wouldn't have to make a trip out there. Got a notification from my bank stating that they tried to debit my account. Explained in the note that they were to remove my debit card that was on file. Manager never replied back to my email that was sent on April 6, 2025 at 11:53 AM. Had to call them this morning an raise hell because the manager never cancelled my husband's membership. Explained that if it wasn't taken care of by COB I was going to charge them the $30.00 that my bank charges for stop payment. My fiancee had a new membership consult here today, and I went with her. Instead of showing us both around, the guy at the front counter just told me I wasn't allowed in without buying a membership. Absolutely horrible experience with Crunch Fitness. They are nothing but money-hungry scammers who will do anything to squeeze more cash out of you. I canceled my membership, yet they keep trying to charge me an annual fee. When I called to resolve the issue, the woman at the front desk had a nasty attitude and refused to remove my payment method, insisting that I “owe” them money.

I specifically paid extra ($15 instead of $10) to avoid being locked into a contract, yet now they’re claiming I signed a year-long agreement and are trying to bill me for it. Their late fees are outrageous, and instead of owning up to their mistakes, they blame you and act like you’re the problem. Even after canceling, they continue charging your card.

Avoid Crunch Fitness at all costs unless you want endless billing headaches and terrible customer service.

Highly recommend the classes such as biking, tread and shed, yoga, etc but the gym section it's just too many people at any given time it gets so full that all 5 times I tried to put my kids in the daycare there was 1-3 hr wait. I tried early morning, middle day and evening and daycare full. Just too many people. Personal trainer price is insane but idk what personal trainers cost else where so I can't really compare prices. Crunch Fitness Review – Suspicious Billing Practices & Poor Digital UX

I signed up for Crunch Fitness online, expecting a seamless payment experience. However, I encountered multiple billing and system issues that raise serious concerns about their digital infrastructure and customer transparency.
1. No Payment Confirmation – After making my payment, I never received an email receipt or confirmation. This is a basic industry standard for online transactions, and its absence is highly unusual.
2. Missing Payment Information – Despite entering my debit card and ACH details during sign-up, the system later claimed I had no payment method on file. Given that most online platforms do not allow you to complete sign-up without this step, this seems like a serious system error or an intentional oversight.
3. Unexplained Late Fees – Due to the missing payment method issue, I was charged an unexpected $10 late fee that I was not notified about in advance. When I checked my account later, it displayed a balance of $34.99, which I paid—yet my bank statement later showed that I was charged $44.99.
4. Lack of Transparency – The fact that Crunch does not send automated payment receipts or late payment notifications makes it difficult for members to track charges or dispute errors.

At best, this is poor digital experience design and a failure of automated systems. At worst, it could be a deliberate strategy to generate extra revenue through avoidable fees and confusion. Either way, it’s disappointing to see a major gym chain operating with these outdated or misleading practices.

If you join, keep a close eye on your statements, screenshot all transactions, and be prepared to follow up on billing discrepancies.

Please don’t sign up with crunch fitness, they charged my husband $350+ for a training session that he did not attend, he told me the trainer told him they will still charge him for next couple of months. Best gym in Columbus by far! I love it here! It’s an ESSENTIAL part of my weight loss journey and everyone is soooo friendly. Big shout out to Bryan the manager! Friendly, resourceful, and super helpful. Can’t thank him and you all ENOUGH!!!!!

My vehicle was possibly hit in the parking lot. Was told to do a police report in order to view video. Did this only to learn there's no cameras in the parking lot! Brian, the supposedly manager did not even left his office to see me but front desk was very cordial. NO ONE IS SAFE IN THE PARKING LOT!! I will give my trainer Marcus a 5 star! I am amazed at Brian's attitude after reading some of these bad reviews about him.

Cannot recommend this place at all. While the facility itself is nice. There are WAY WAY WAY to many people. Been going to gyms for 10 years and this is the most crowded one I have ever seen. They need to raise prices or double the sq ft of the building to accommodate.. Not only that but when I signed up for their highest membership I was told that you could cancel anytime. Well I cancelled and moved to Gods of Iron Pro gym (much better gym by miles) and when a friend I had sign up for Crunch tried cancelling when she paid for their highest membership they told her she needs to pay for at least 3 more months before she could cancel.... Avoid this place and put your money to literally any other gym in Columbus GA and save your time because you will definitely cancel within a few months if you even make it that far.

EDIT: Forgot to add that they let their dumbbell rack look insane. imagine 200 different dumbbells misplaced all over the gym. Sort of understandable though because there's just to many people over there at all times.
