Loved Crunch when they first opened, but it’s definitely going downhill. It looks Ike the HIIT area hasn’t been cleaned or straightened up in weeks and women’s locker room is always nasty. There’s lockers with old, moldy drinks sitting in them and items people left behind. I’m also confused as to why we get charged a yearly maintenance fee when there’s broken equipment and holes/cracks in the floor that could seriously injure someone (tripped because of one the other day). Gym doesn’t have to be perfect and spotless, but I’d expect a little more care from the owners and staff.

Do not try to go to this gym unless you want to have the problem of not being able to cancel your membership. I canceled it online then was constantly called about billing. I’m still trying to figure out what I canceled online and why we have to go in and do it. My boyfriend had to flag them in his bank because they will charge you under another name just to get money they don’t deserve.

This gym constantly has broken equipment, the bathrooms always smell horrible and aren’t cleaned. The worst is the kids care, they advertise their hours but on a very regular basis they don’t have staff and so they just close at least one to two times a week this happens where I come in and they don’t have the coverage so they don’t open kids club. On top of that they will have one person working kids club with 30 plus kids in there which means they aren’t able to actually watch that number of kids without incidents happening. I use to work at La fitness and 24 hour fitness there are rules to the number of kids they are allowed to watch per adult and crunch fitness in Savannah doesn’t follow this at all. As well as since they’re are so many kids in there when they are open it’s constantly our daughter getting sick because the right measures aren’t being taken to properly clean the kids club. Hand foot and mouth has gone around the kids club here multiple times within the past few months. 2 of our friends worked a the facility and reported that the manager doesn’t do anything to anyone new to be hired on to the staff to back full the low numbers of staff. Horrible gym wouldn’t recommend in the slightest

Kind of truck driver friendly, just stopped for a workout and wasn’t bothered. Showers hot, cold water fountain, all equipment good. Dumbbell area is very dangerous with floor condition, major trip hazard with weights in hand and big time liability

I love the group fitness program at Crunch! The atmosphere is so engaging and encouraging, it really feels like a community. I especially love the variety in the classes, from gentle yoga to high intensity strength training. I mostly do classes with Michelle but I know all the instructors are amazing. If you're like me and don't like working out on your own, I highly recommend Crunch classes.

I absolutely love the schedule and variety of the group fitness classes. It helps me keep a regular routine, and several members are usually consistent with attendance. So it’s nice to see familiar faces to hold you accountable with good company. It’s a large gym, so parking and cleanliness may be difficult at times, but overall convenient and affordable!

I joined crunch almost 3 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the classes. The classes were the reason I joined.my favorite class is PunchHIIT. Which is a boxing style class. I get a great workout every time I go to this class. The only negative I have is something that is not under Crunch's control and that is the parking. Oglethorpe Mall is building all kinds of businesses and housing and making no accommodations for the increased parking needed.

I spoke to the staff many times about not wanting to be recorded by other members. I spoke to Steven about the same thing, including conflicts with a member who once hit my daughter with a gym barbell. On another occasion, she started yelling at me and my daughter inside the gym. These are the same people who record us. Even so, thw staff ignored me. This happened every day. These people have fake IDs and up to three accounts, according to the staff themselves.

They suck ! I started a membership and try to cancel it because I’m in school for surgical tech and things have got really serious so I’ve not been able to go to the gym due to me having to complete school and clinicals. I was not able to cancel my membership and when I made the membership I was supposed to come in for a tour of the gym, which I did not do because I was trying to cancel it, and the manager told me that I could not cancel it that they will be sending it to collections. I didn’t even give them my routing number or account number to actually seal the membership, But hey, I guess it’ll be going to collections!

On April 18, 2024 , I experienced a serious safety incident in your childcare area. My 6-month-old baby was nearly knocked out of her bouncer by an unsupervised 2-year-old child while no staff members were actively supervising. Every time I checked up on her the staff were sitting at the desk and not actively working with the children in their care. Twice I walked in to another child eating my 6-month-old daughter snack and even had her breast milk bottle! I immediately removed my child from the facility following the very last event that could have ended in tragedy for my child. I verbally informed the on-duty manager that I would not be returning because I no longer felt the childcare environment was safe and he understood and apologized.

Despite this, my account continued to be billed, and I later discovered that missed payments were reported to the credit bureaus. This is an inaccurate and unfair representation, as I made clear to gym staff that I was discontinuing my membership due to a safety concern.

Overall the gym has just about everything you’d need. The staff has always been very friendly and welcoming. The facility is kept clean considering it is a large gym. The main reasons I have it downgraded a bit is because the air conditioning seems to never be working, and while I don’t know if that’s the gym or the mall’s responsibility when it’s crowded it gets very warm and muggy inside to the point where the floor feels slick and it’s hard to breath. Also people have a hard time putting weights back, which I realize is a member issue and not the gyms fault, but it is annoying.

Not cool to have people recording videos while you’re in Zumba class. I didn’t say anything to them but it’s not like they have a no-recording rule so doubt it mattered. I’m reconsidering my membership if I’m going to end up recorded.

EDIT: Also Patrick bashing “obese people” in the gym on his review…ignore that guy. He’s a jerk. Obese people have just as much right to be there as you.

This entire place is a sauna, a wet sauna! The air conditioning doesn’t work and they are in denial claiming that it’s fine! Won’t go back!

Update, 4 months later and the air is still a problem! Worse, the machines are now rusted and dysfunctional due to the use with humidity. I really like this gym, but without the problems!!

When the gym first opened I gave it 5 stars. However, I ended up cancelling my membership due to cleanliness. Showers were covered in dry urine, bathrooms always smell, equipment not being wiped down, equipment being broken. Got a trial membership a year later and nothing had changed. I noticed during my trial that they only had one set of ropes for the cable machines, when the staff asked if I was going to join I inquired about the missing ropes and they said “people like to steal them”… this wouldn’t be a problem if you enforced the policy of no bags on the gym floor.

I want this gym to be great, I’d love to workout here But I care about my health and cleanliness should be the #1 priority.

I specifically joined this gym and elected to pay the most expensive premium because they offered childcare and the convenience of location. However the childcare has been closed more than it’s been open since joining. If it’s not close for maintenance it’s close because the A/C is not working or none of the employees showed up for kids crunch. I have not known the A/C to work since I joined. The broken equipment and bathrooms is just disappointing. This gym needs some TLC from the owner and a revamp. If interested in a SWOT Analysis I’ll be happy to assist, because this gym has so much potential, but it’s being neglected.

AC was broken the entire first month of my membership and the heat made it unbearable to exercise . I had originally wanted to just downgrade to a basic plan but they were going to charge me ANOTHER enrollment fee just to change my plan so I decided to cancel. On top of this they charged me an ADDITIONAL $55 “annual fee” randomly that they wouldn’t take off, even though I canceled at the 30 day mark of my membership. This place is a total scam and I won’t be returning.

UPDATE: Another micro- aggression. Since I left my review they have now dimmed the lights in the room to a level where nobody can take pictures in there. These people love to bully their members. Machines are still all broken by the way! I have been a member for 3 years. The first year everything was amazing, the place was clean, the machines were routinely maintained. Years 2 and 3 the place has fallen off. All the good employees were replaced with dumb and lazy ones except for the sweet young lady with the glasses that is at the front some days. She’s the only person that is somewhat nice and she is barely even trying. Still nothing compared to the year 1 and some of the year 2 employees. Now the machines are always broken. There are also several with stripped cables that never get a broken sign put on them and never get looked at. The entire place smells like a zoo on most days. It used to smell like a doctors office. Another serious gripe is the attitude about the multi purpose rooms and the bike room. The way it used to be everyone felt free to use them. Now they cater to people who don’t even work out while disrespecting people who are serious about it. They pack the rooms with severely obese people and have them doing movements that don’t do anything for their physical or cardiovascular health. Now I do believe the rooms should be available to everyone but sometimes I want to go in there and there are literally people sleeping or one of the employees the blue haired lady sitting on the stage barefooted showing her dirty feet to the entire gym. Meanwhile they are passive aggressive towards the people who seriously work out that want to use the rooms to take photos. They have gone as far as to put a locked box over the light controls in the bike room. Passive aggressive moves to keep people from posing in there when the room with the stage is occupied. I have always loved this place but a large amount of these people, these phony “personal trainers” that won’t even let their clients put 1 45lb plate on a leg press, need to be let go. Upper management needs to be let go and replaced with the nice lady at the desk. I hardly see management looking people around and when I do it’s some red haired guy who looks like he has no idea what’s going on. The old management knew how to run a gym. What the hell happened? I want real answers and I want change. Regardless of how this is received I will be fully documenting everything from the machines to the bathrooms to the employees and emailing every possible extension of crunch fitness I can find to get solutions. Thank you.

These ppl are still trying to charge me money even after I canceled 1 month ago. I went in on the 16th of last month to cancel in person, I asked the guy the take all the money I owed and the monthly payment that I usually pay . He then also charged me an extra $50 dollars for cancellation. I asked the guy am I set ? Do I have to do anything else ? He then said no you’re all set and my plan is going to be officially shut off August 28 so if I want I could still come to the gym after canceling (Mind you I never went back to enjoy my last few time I had left cause I was moving outta state). 1 month later these ppl charging me $20 more . I called again asking what is going on cause first I’m good now I’m getting charged again this lady on the phone telling me about monthly payment 🤦🏽‍♂️ yall need to train yall employees better they know nothing !!!! Im not paying these thieves nothing else.

I was a member at Crunch Fitness in Savannah, GA, and have recently relocated to Atlantic City, NJ, where there are no nearby Crunch locations. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership, but the experience has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. When I called the Savannah location, they told me I must cancel in person or send a physical letter. This is completely unreasonable, especially since I’ve moved out of state. I requested cancellations can be done over the phone, but the staff refused to help. To make matters worse, the front desk staff were rude and completely uninterested in assisting me. When I explained that I’ve relocated and won’t be using the gym to the manager, they told me I still have to pay for two additional months PLUS an annual fee for a service I physically cannot use. This is unacceptable. Crunch Fitness needs to make it easier for people who have relocated to cancel without unnecessary fees. Also, please train your staff to be more respectful and helpful. I’m extremely disappointed and will not recommend Crunch to anyone.

Edit: All but 3 treadmills are working now. 1 TV still down. Treadmills still dirty. Hair and dirt built up between stretch mats. No contact from GM. All that said, we are still going, it would just be much more enjoyable if it was cleaner. From talking to friends that have been to Crunch & Planet Fitness, PF is much cleaner.

Original: My wife and I have been members since the beginning of June. I signed up with a trainer, and after a mishap in the beginning, it’s been great.

My main issues are cleanliness and broken equipment. Equipment is dirty, dust and grime everywhere (especially treadmills). I sent an email praising the good parts but expressing my thoughts on how dirty things were - no response. Mirrors are dirty, bathrooms and showers are dirty.

There are currently 8 treadmills that do not work, and haven’t since beginning of June. There’s a tv not working. Many grips are missing in the front 1/2 hour area. People move them from machine to machine, and often times you just can’t do what you want because there are not enough grips.

After reading through reviews, I see MANY others saying the same thing. Lots of responses about thanks for the feedback, but no actual changes.

Seems like every week, there’s a new promotion to sign people up, but the changes that need to be made to keep people there aren’t being done.

I love the location. My trainer is great. There are lots of great options for working out and exercise (when parts aren’t missing or equipment isn’t broken), and the people I’ve met are nice.

This place could be so much better if it was cleaned consistently and equipment was kept in working condition consistently.

Crunch fitness as a whole is scummy. I’ve had difficulties trying to cancel my subscription with them. If you move to a different state your account will work at other crunch’s but if you want to cancel at a different branch than from where you signed up then the system is so completely different. I have been told that I can not cancel my account online, via email or over the phone. They are requiring me to either show up in person (I live across the country) or write them a letter with my phone number on it saying I would like my subscription canceled. Their manager apparently shows up to work after 10am and leaves before 5pm and on their website it says they don’t even have a manager. DO NOT USE IF YOU EXPECT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

This is an unsafe environment for women. I had another member follow me to my car and I ended up going back inside to wait for him to leave. This was about 30 minutes I waited so I asked the young lady to cancel my membership since she didn't want to get the guys information for me to report it. I noticed I was being charged and went back in the establishment and spoke with Steve. He is the GM and he said it wasn't canceled. I asked for the refund since I clearly hadn't been in since and he refused. Terrible service and absolutely not safe!

I've never left a bad review anywhere until now. 4 times December-January going into the gym, and also calling in January was not enough to get help to cancel my membership. Tried to be proactive so they could not tell me I gave them less than 30 days notice (renewed in March). Was told all 5 times I was there or reached out by an employee that a manager needed to be there for me to cancel. Decided I was better off sitting on hold with my bank in February requesting a stop-pay on all future Crunch payments. Finally had a chance to go back in the gym today, and they waived the March and April monthly payments like they were doing me a favor, and they said I still had to pay the annual fee that was supposed to come out in March. Had an employee been competent enough to assist in cancelling my membership in Dec. OR Jan., there would be no need for a March renewal/annual fee. It may not be the new general manager's fault that employees were incompetent before, but it definitely isn't MY fault that they were. Typical corporate gym model that is scam-like, and they have the audacity to make me pay another annual fee. Steer clear.

EDIT 7/17/25: Emailed them twice after the comment below this review. No response either time. Now sent me to collections. What was going to be a 1-2 year hiatus will now be permanent. People ask me all the time what gym I go to, and I will be sure they know to avoid Crunch.

This place is decent, but not my favorite. It gets the job done. The A/C quality is very poor, so the moment I walk in the door it's musty and hot. I try to go in the morning to avoid this because it's really bad in the evening. There's always at least one or two broken machines.

Ive been trying to cancel my membership for so long that I've moved to a different city since starting trying to cancel it over 7 months ago. Let's also begin with stating this company is not BBB accredited and has a F rating so I would not trust them based on that alone.

You can not cancel your membership at this location unless you go to the gym, kind of hard for me since I live hours away. I don't know why it's so hard to allow customers to sign online like literally every other company. I've called multiple times and was told to contact billing or that the person working would contact billing and get back to me.

At this point I'm pretty sure the billing department is non-existent. I call it directly, they never answer. The staff says they'll contact and get back, never get a call back.

At one point I was told to transfer my home gym. Well I started that process, it said it'd take a month, cool. Waste another monthly fee waiting on that. Then they never actually transferred my home gym so still couldn't cancel.

The only way to get them to stop drafting was to put a stop payment with my bank for them. Their corporate lines are unmonitored and tell you to call the number you just called.

In total, I've wasted about 200-300 dollars on this process.

To emphasize the first paragraph in my review, in response to the reply. I no longer live in Savannah. I went by before I moved and they said they were unable to cancel it.

The environment is pretty friendly. The kickoff was very informative and our PT for the day was Liby. She was great at helping me and my husband and pushing us to our limits but still keeping it motivating and positive. We go in the evening and it's not jam packed, still full enough to not feel like a ghost town. The fitness area with pre-made machines to workout different groups is really helpful since we have no clue what we're doing and just want to get healthy.

The gym itself is pretty nice for the price but be conscious of their cancellation policy. They make you pay for your current month, 1 extra month and your annual fee.

I cancelled during the first few days of my monthly payment and they wouldn’t reimburse me for that even that I had not used the gym for those couple of days. Then on top of that, in order to cancel my membership, they made me pay for an extra month and my annual fee. Just ridiculous.

This five star review is for Tru (works front desk in the mornings) specifically. Crunch could use some improvements (not always clean, broken equipment at times but I still love it lol) but Tru is amazing. He’s made an effort to know EVERYONES name and is always so encouraging/welcoming. Always greets me with a smile and sends me off into my work day with good vibes!! Truly deserves employee of the year.

Atmosphere isn't relatively bad. Great place to work out and do heavy drop sets. One of the best things about coming here is being greeted by name. When you first arrive to a random pass time hobby is being acknowledged for your committed discipline. Thank you tru for you always making me feel welcomed on the begining of this new journey. You strive with assistance and information leaves me inspired to be greater than who I am. Don't know how you do it but you deserving of great blessings my guy. Keep going, you come here ask for TRU. I was on the phone with a staff member trying to get information on plans when I heard the manager trying to get said staff member off the phone because he was “on her clock”. He tried to calm me down but I asked what the bosses was because I only wanted information on plans. I called back only tone told there was no manger on site that could help me even though I heard the rudest manger in the background. Please help me understand do you want business or not or are you just rude to your staff ? This has completely turned me away from your business

The best part about this gym is the warm welcome you get from the staff. Especially Tru, who refers to everyone by their name, seriously how does someone do this?!?! He truly goes above and beyond, whether it’s correcting form, making people laugh or just someone to push you further.

This is a great place to work out. The equipment was there but the energy was a little off. But what do you expect it is packed! One employee was rushy and seemed a little too assertive, off putting, but all is well. Still I have a good time there. Guys bathrooms needed more maintenance. Stephen a personal trainer there made me feel very welcomed. Gave me some tips and did my kick off. I appreciate their business and service but my opinion is that need a little work. Alot of my negative thoughts come from the guests there not being disciplined. Not staff. The staff is awesome.

I cancelled my husband's membership back in 2023 via phone with a Crunch associate and was reassured by associate cancellation was completed. On 3/12/2025, my husband was notified by Credit Karma that he had a collections from Crunch. On 3/13/2025, I called to speak with the General Manager Steve and informed him of the situation. He stated it was the associate's mistake and there were no notes therefore couldn't do anything about it. He didn't try to resolve the issue, instead he said I can pay the collections or Savannah Crunch location to have it removed. I asked to speak with Corporate and asked for his last name. He refused to give me his last name and stated they didn't have a Corporate Office. ❌❌❌❌

I travel for work and was really excited to have a Crunch in Savannah.. However, it’s really disappointing to arrive at 4am (operating hours say 24 hours) to find the doors still locked and no notice.. this isn’t the first time this has happened to me at this location, I was here a year ago and faced the same problem.. it’s completely frustrating when you have a schedule to obey.. My suggestion to Crunch find someone that is reliable or don’t advertise you are open 24 hours.. On that note, my friends, there is a Zoo fitness around the corner that’s truly 24 hours!! Happy gyming!!

Jose is the worst manager at Crunch in Savannah,Ga I had constantly emailed him to transfer my crunch membership over to the Frisco,TX gym about 3x now, he said he was going to but never did. So I had to reach out to my home gym here in Frisco and they had told me the manager would have to cancel my membership in order for me to sign up for the gym at their location since my phone had mistakenly signed me up for the crunch in Savannah for some reason when I meant the location in Frisco. I then called Jose on 2/15 to cancel my membership so I can transfer to the crunch gym in my hometown since I want to attend the classes but it’s only showing the Savannah crunch, I do have email evidence of him saying he can either cancel or transfer my membership which he had failed to do three times now. I want my membership canceled at the Savannah location if not I will call corporate! You cannot scam customers by saying you will do something for them but not because you just want to charge them you scammer!! DO NOT GO TO THAT GYM!!! I will be calling corporate if it’s not cancelled

I love this gym as its convenient in savannah, but arriving at 7am to find the doors still locked an hour later at 8 is ridiculous. There were a lot of people outside waiting and many pulled off as the hour passed. With people who have stuff to do its not fair that employees can leave members stranded waiting for them to arrive for their shift. I have never had a job that I can arrive an hour late to to serve members and still be employed. Its very frustrating as a premium membership holder paying 25 a month when the gyms employees can’t ever arrive. Everything positive is truly canceled out as a gym has never disappointed me this much. People have stuff to do. Be better.

Crunch fitness employee by the name of Sam Todras made 2 accounts for me. One is in good standing but the other one which I’ve never checked in using has a past due balance. Every time I call requesting to speak to a manager, they say that the manager is busy or not there and they will make sure he gets the message. I’ve been dealing with this going on 3 weeks now and they still continue to try to charge my card for a 2nd account that an employee made without my consent. They refuse to fix this.

Been tough starting back at the gym after a few weeks off during the holidays, but it’s always nice when one of the employees named Tru is there. Everytime I walk in he says “hey Mr.Kyle!” And with a great upbeat attitude asks me how my day is or how the weekend was and then tells me to have a great workout. I notice he does this with almost everyone who enters the gym. Like how does he remember everyone’s names before checking in? Tru will walk through the gym very upbeat and motivated and ask about fitness goals and always asks if there is anything he can personally help with. The way he carry's himself and his attention to detail made me think he was the General Manager or something. His dedication to customer service is first rate. I loved crunch when I was in atlanta, but the one here is an abomination. The men's restroom is cleaned maybe once a month. There's 4 to 5 cable machines that have been broken for weeks now. Been at Crunch since it opened and its steadily declined. The gym is just FILTHY. Take a look at any piece of equipment and you can tell it's never been wiped down. The exception is the seats/pads because most people wipe those after using..granted there are paper towels, which often there is not. Mens locker room is always dirty. Sauna benches and walls are stained black, and the floor stays nasty. Lockers themselves are never wiped down. MRSA and Staph are real risks among others in a gym, even when clean. Hire a commercial cleaning service and quit screwing around with spotty janitorial staff.
The roof leaks are my favorite though. I enjoy paying an annual membership fee to walk into strategically placed buckets throughout the gym and locker room everytime it rains. This has been an issue since the gym opened, and its still happening today. The bubbled paint by the battle ropes from a water leak was fun to watch go unaddressed for weeks, only rivaled by the hack repair job done after the paint fell off the wall.
Repairs to the equipment happen...eventually. I'd guess inspections of the equipment happen...never? For a while now one of the smith machines is off, one side sits higher, stretch trainer is completely loose and wobbly, there multiple TVs out. Also, good luck finding matching cable machine handles...or ones not knotted to shorten their length down. Pads on the equipment are now starting to split.
Zero focus from owners or management on making this a great gym, which it had the promise to be.

Update: there is absolutely no cleaning going on in this gym. Bathrooms are always disgusting. Currently, the toilets are nasty, the sink is clogged up, there is no paper towels and the floors are gross in there. I don't understand how a gym doesn't have a cleaning company or an employee come in and clean at least once a week. And this is in the womens locker room so I can only imagine what the mens looks like.

Could use some work in the cleanliness and maintenance but they have LaWanda as a cycle instructor and that right there is enough to have a membership. I wish she taught several more cycle classes throughoutthe week.

I canceled my membership at the end of October and they still charged me almost 70$ for club fees on December 26th. The guy who answered the phone gave me one name when he answered and said he couldn’t help at all, so when I asked him his name again he gave me an entirely different name. I disputed the transaction with my bank but it’s pretty PATHETIC when you make someone come in person to cancel their membership, give them a slip and then continue to charge them. I just want the GM Jose to do his part and refund me my money. When you put such an emphasis on in person cancellation and I do that but you still charge. I’ve reached out via phone and email as well. I will also be contacting by better business bureau

No one to call and staff can't do anything without the general manager including run camera back. They won't even help you find your phone smh. You scan yourself in at night while the guy is chillin on the couch which is no biggie really. They do have a sauna so there's that. The fees are a bit excessive and a lil scam-ish. The late payment process is wild. Collections started calling after 4 days and the fees increased twice. I paid 70+ to sign up only to pay another 60 for the annual fee a couple months later. You have to come in to get any issues resolved. The equipment is also pretty decent...

I joined back to crunch recently for the sole reason that I need child care in order to workout but have been too many times now disappointed to find kids crunch closed at the times that it should be open according to the kids crunch hours posted. I understand staff issues with callouts and such but Kayla was always able to keep it open despite staff call outs , I never saw it closed under her management , I don’t know why there was such a decline in staffing ability, cleanliness , machine management, etc since then. I half the time have to hunt down clips for the barbells as there are few left. Nonetheless my main concern is kids crunch, I can deal with the rest as long as I can actually workout. At the very least, if it’s gonna be closed during its normal operational hours I’d at least expect a text or notification before driving 30 minutes to get there.

Starting with the positive, Crunch Savannah has probably one of my favorite layouts so far out of all the Crunch's I have been too. I don't feel like I am being watched and there are enough machines where I can get a quick workout in and leave without having to wait for equipment to open. I would also say half the staff is pleasant so we will keep that part on the positive side. Now for the negative, not a great location at all; crazy to me that there's only one option for Crunch in Savannah but it's there so not the biggest complaint. Here it goes .... this is the GROSSEST gym I have EVER been to. The women's lockers are horrendous, I can say this with 100% accuracy it is NEVER EVER clean and disgusts me every time I go. Then don't stare at the equipment too hard because that hasn't been cleaned since day 1. That and numerous machines need maintenance. The fact that I have had to stuff paper towels in to make certain machines work for me is ridiculous, trust me I've complained; it went nowhere. Sad management doesn't care to do a better job all around here.
