Dancing Dogs Yoga specializes in vinyasa, restorative, and yin yoga classes, workshops, and trainings with a diverse and experienced team of instructors.
From specialized classes like Sunday Service, Alchemy of Yoga, Mantra Flow, Vinyasa Vibe, and Yogaritas to curated classes like Queer Yoga and BIPOC yoga, we offer something for everyone. Many of our classes are heated vinyasa, though we believe in balance and offer unheated, yin, and restorative options as well.
Our focus is on community. We strive to create a place where students feel welcome, so that you can practice in a space that feels safe, supportive, and inclusive. At DDY, y’all means all, and we welcome people from all backgrounds and all levels of experience.

I am new to Dancing Dogs but a long-time student of Alex W. I have followed her for past 10 years and benefited from her gentle instruction. She offers options to poses, making every pose accessible to her students. She leads with a calm demeanor and makes the class a pleasure. I look forward to more classes with Alex and DD.

When I was searching for a yoga home, I found DDY ATL. I live in NC. I have driven to be a part of the community 6+ hour each way for years…why? because it is community.. It is love. It is understanding..Shelley has curated a space where all are welcome. She will hand your ass to you on a yoga platter, which i love. Her knowledge of the sutras and mythology is on point. Her knowledge that every body is a different and lovely body is tantamount. I send mad respect.

The amount that I was charged for two people to do a yoga class is INSANE. Not only that I cannot believe that all of the funds go to the studio. This place supports breeders, you should get with a shelter and help dogs in need not your own pockets, also by the last class happens thoes poor babies are exhausted. DO BETTER.

I’ve been wanting to get back into yoga after a many-years hiatus. When I looked into studios, it seemed like every place only offered hot yoga which is not my speed. I learned about Dancing Dogs Yoga while taking a puppy yoga class at the AHS taught by a DDY instructor. I was pleased to find out that DDY offers both unheated and heated classes as well as classes for all levels of students—beginners to advanced. I joined the studio and have been every day since. I’ve taken restorative, yin, Hatha and slower flow classes. In short, I love DDY and highly recommend.

I have absolutely loved coming to this studio. Every class has introduced me to interesting, new flows, to yogic learnings, and amazing energy from the teacher and the students. They have two spaces, and I've only been in the bigger one, but look forward to trying out a class in the smaller space. Both are beautiful, and I love that they already give a bit of guidance for mat placement, offer sweat towels, and consent coins for hands-on assistance.
I look forward to trying out more of the classes and instructors.

I recently took the Yoga 101 class with Lisa. The class was interesting, informative and inviting. I loved every minute of it. I even drove over an hour each way to take this class and it was worth every minute. Lisa is a truly kind and gentle teacher, I learned so much and look forward to many happy years of stretching and meditating.

I love Dancing Dogs Yoga. The classes are unique and interesting, and the teachers create well-constructed sequences. It's a pleasure to practice at a studio where such care is put into not only the yoga itself but the community and welcoming newcomers into the fold. I'm a yoga teacher myself, so I tend to be very picky about classes, teachers and studios. Dancing Dogs is an incredible place to call my yoga home.

I took the Soul Flow class on a Sunday evening at 6pm and thoroughly enjoyed it. The class had about 12-14 yogis at various levels of their individual yoga flow. Really good workout. I have loved each class I have taken at DDY and they have all been in a variety of styles. The thing I love most is how they incorporate yogic philosophy into traditional yoga classes. Several classes are 75 minutes instead of an hour to give space for deeper yogic thought…

Dancing Dogs Yoga was one of the best surprises I had this year. I decided to try it due to the convenience of the location and I had the best experience there. The location, decoration, community... everything is absolutely great.
I found a place to practice Yoga without judgements, where I feel free to try and make mistakes, and be comfortable with my own pace. Also, it is a great place to meet nice people and make friends, which as a foreigner I really appreciate.
The instructors are amazing, and even not being a native English speaker, I never had any problem following the classes. And there is always room for reflection, meditation and intention, which I love.
Whether I start or finish my day at Dancing Dogs, I always feel great and ready for whatever comes next. Especially after the AMAZING lavender towel they provide after class - I cannot express how much I love it.

I was fortunate enough to complete my YTT at the Dominican Tree House Village in El Valle, Samana. I am so thankful for Shelley and being able to share my yoga story. Shelley is a woman of many virtues but my favorite is her being able to hold space for diverse populations in yoga (BIPOC/LGBTQIA+). I was supported during my learning journey, and encouraged throughout my training to continue to create space for other individuals like myself. Our training was well organized, detail oriented, knowledgeable, and a healthy balance between learning, resting, and adventure! I was paired with the best roommate and suite mates ever! I am terrified of being in the jungle but knowing I was there with three other women, made it so worth while. Finally, Emma made the most amazing Dominican cuisine for us daily and the Tree House Staff were so hospitable. I would absolutely go on another training/retreat with Shelley and the crew!

I was attending a different yoga studio in the Atlanta area, but was no longer feeling the sense of community I had grown accustomed to. So I took a class at Dancing Dogs Yoga instead, hoping to find a better fit. I've loved most of the instructors/classes I've taken so far. I find the classes difficult but doable, warm but not too hot. I have also enjoyed the wide variety of music that is played during class, the hands-on adjustments offered and the lavender towels at the end. I also think it's worth noting as a plus sized yogi, that I feel like I fit in when I attend a class, full of people of all sizes, shapes, abilities, etc. I'm excited to take more 830am classes here!

I love this yoga studio. The energy in the space is warm and welcoming. It’s clean with awesome yoga props available.
Each instructor offers their own positivity, power, knowledge and authenticity at each practice, cultivating community and support among practitioners.
During a time that’s still dicey on the public health front, DDY’s taken a vax/mask stance that makes me feel comfortable regularly attending class.
All instructors are amazing. Among my favorite are Shelley, Ukwuoma and Mersiha for their passion, firm grasp of traditional form and elegance.
Here for DDY! Cheers xx

This is a fun but intense studio that will leave you feeling incredibly proud of yourself for making it through each session. I started back in September 2019 and it was a challenge for me, not because it was difficult, but because I was weak and out of shape. I was so disappointed in myself that I left in the middle of the class (failure on my part). I wrote an email and received an immediate response from Kayla who encouraged me to come back, which I did. It was a challenge for me but the day I flipped my dog was massive ! I am stronger physically and mentally thanks to DDY.
It really is an amazing community and it is for all levels. Do not let the heat or pace scare you away. The instructors have their own individual style, but share one thing in common: they are there to help you improve and grow for your overall health and well-being. It is not an understatement when they say you're a badass, because you definitely are and you deserve to own it!

Love at first sweat! I had been a pretty loyal follower of Bikram yoga but was looking for a way to add a little more movement to my practice so I tried a class at Dancing Dogs. From the minute I walked in I felt welcome. A few of the teachers and students were milling around the front, talking and laughing and the energy was crisp and fresh and happy. The studio space is right off the beltline so you can grab a coffee or snack or meal literally right outside the front door. I love to practice there with a friend and then go somewhere after. The classes are authentically Baptiste and give you a great workout. The cool lavender towel at the end doesn't hurt either! I love the diversity of the classes. Great space, great sequence, great energy, and overall empowering! If you're in midtown, definitely take a class. Love the hands-on assists.

Truly amazing teachers here! Radiant Heat that warms you up from the inside and nice lavender towels at the end!
