Terribly maintained. Half the treadmills are not functioning or poorly functioning. Equipment is old and rusty. Layout is poorly organized. Bathrooms are rarely clean. Shower curtains are see-through. I’ve been a client for more than 3 years but ever since there was a change in management a year ago, the gym’s conditions have been deteriorating. Will be canceling my subscription

UPDATE: I'm still an active member of the gym, and it is still just as bad as when I originally left the review. Treadmills are worned down, and some broken. Gym layout is even worse than when i made the review. Everything is all over the place, and it's difficult to find what you need. And bathrooms are really smelly. Not clean. I only go here because there are no better options near me. Bad place.

Just enrolled Friday first day in today
This is a great gym, it's clean and well maintained
It has all the basic and well known machines. The machines are not new but they all work just great. I rather go to a gym that's clean and maintained than a newer gym that's let go and staff is not interestest in their roles.
The owner is a freindly, great guy and they have a bunch of programs for everyone.
Certainly a place for everybody with a great culture.

I called the gym this morning asking to do a tour/get pricing information. I have 2 kids who would be coming with me, so I wanted to check out the facility & make sure the kid area was safe & clean. The person I spoke to said to come by anytime today & somebody would be there to go over everything with me.

When I got there, nobody was at the front desk. I waited around a few minutes, nobody came. Finally a lady who was working out said the person at the front desk (Lee I think?) would be there in about 10-15 minutes & they don't live far away. This struck me as odd, because was the front desk person on the clock & getting paid but not actually there?

I waited around for 20+ minutes & nobody ever showed up. I will definitely not be back. Not a good first impression & very unprofessional.

The membership was supposed to be canceled, and they never canceled it. My husband is in the military, and was gone for multiple months and we thought the membership was completely canceled. they then told us that we couldn't stop the payments unless we came in person even though this was THEIR mistake. When we refused to pay it because it was supposed to canceled they sent it to a debt collector. I understand policies are policies, but when you make a mistake you should fix it.

DONT SIGN UP HERE. I was told I can go to any 1440 by the staff here but have been turned away from three other 1440’s stating that I was lied to. Weights are miss matched and cluttered. Everything is out of date and just shoved where every it might fit. Usually trash laying around. I’ve been a member of four other gyms and this is definitely the worst one. I’ve been actively trying to contact HR for about a year now and have been trying to cancel my subscription for about 5 months now with no luck at all. I recommend one life fitness a lot. They are the best gym I’ve ever been to.

Used the free day pass to try this gym out. I do not recommend, owner has no idea how the gym layout should be. Way to much equipment everywhere all 2nd maybe 3rd hand equipment. Gym is dirty and owner was rude when I genuinely asked why there was so much unnecessary equipment everywhere.

This gym I literally behind my house and I go there very now and then. I usually go to Anytime across from this gym just because the weights are mismatched here. Steel vs plastic. And also the cleanliness is really bad here, you got trash, bottles , dust bunny’s under the weights, very cluttered. New management hasn’t really fixed the issues.

First, let me start with this.. the staff is great, no problem there. However, Very cluttered, mismatched weights everywhere. Multiple brands of plates. Almost noone has gym etiquette here. People leave their weights on the machines and walk away. No organization. Plastic covered plates mixed with steel plates. Not a single locker in the locker room has a hook for jackets (I ride my motorcycle to the gym so I need a hook for the backpack and jacket). I've been working out for 15+ years.. never had this many issues with a gym.

Awful experience! I wanted to give the gym the benefit of the doubt. It was fine the first few weeks then equipment started to break. I was told I was doing month to month membership and not a contract. I emailed and tried calling them back in December to freeze or cancel my membership since I had emergency surgery in December and was unable to go to gym for minimum of 4 months. I never got a returned call, their phones weren’t ringing through, I emailed but they claim they never got an email or anything. Equipment is always very dirty and gross and unsanitary. Things are always broken. Worst experience

-as other reviews have said-I had a problem with cancelling my membership. I had month to month membership which requires 30 day notice to cancel (no big deal). So I cancelled it (one of the staff made a mistake and charged as if I were breaking my contact, but nbd one of the managers came over and corrected it), but paid for the next month (nbd). But I got charged an additional month. I went back and they didn't acknowledge that I'd been there before and cancelled already and didn't offer to give back money that I'd been incorrectly charged. So they cancelled again (it was the manager, so hopefully it was actually cancelled correctly).

Richardos gyms are very unsanitary. He does not care about the health of others. All he cares about is money. Dishonest business man and I would NOT recommend this gym to anyone. Save your money and just work out at home. And god forbid you move states and can’t use your membership anymore, he will continue to charge you full price (which I was told at time of enrollment there was no cancelation policy)

Worst gym ever including the owner. They will began to bill your acct. and not go by what is TOLD you at the time of signing up. I was lied to when the contract was sold. I tried to talk to the owner and explain and he keeps billing me. WORST MANAGEMENT EVER!!!

I purchased a 1 year membership, paid in full up front. My wife was added on to that membership for $20/month. In December 2018 they began charging my card $42 per month. I contacted the owner and he said "it's just an annual account maintenance charge." I wasn't happy but I accepted that answer.

January 28th, 2019, a second charge for the $42 was posted to my account. I called the owner again. He said there was a mistake and that the two extra charges of $20 would be refunded to me. I also requested that my wife's membership be cancelled. He verbally confirmed on the phone that I would receive a refund, my membership had been cancelled, and that no further charges would be posted to my card ever (I asked him to confirm this twice). I did not get an email confirmation - my mistake.

February 24, 2019, a third charge for $42 was attempted on my card. I contacted American Express and put a hold on the payment. I contacted their financial management company (ABC Financial) and was told that in December 2018, 6 months of charges were manually added to my account by someone at the gym. This has now moved into the territory of fraudulent charges.

UPDATE 2-27-19
I was able to get in contact with the owner and he apologized for the issues and I did finally receive a cancellation email from them, and a written promise for a refund. I added a star for the apology and for fixing the issues. Based on all these issues, I cannot recommend this gym to anyone.
