Ali has coached me so well through my pregnancy at the Moms who Move class. She motifies each class for where I am at in my pregnancy and how my body is coping. She has taught me breathing techniques and stretches to help with all the new things happening in me. I have learned so much from her! She is extremely mindful about me and baby's safety, which has given me the confidence to continue in my health journey. Even after not coming to the gym hardly at all in my first trimester, she has been able to help me get back on track and feel good. The class is full of other mommas, so as a first-time mom, I am grateful for the supportive community.

The coaches are super skilled and really friendly, and there’s plenty of equipment and space. I was pretty weak when I started, but a year later, I've come a long way! I began with the child bar for weightlifting, but now I’m lifting much heavier weights, doing pistols, climbing ropes, doing pull-ups, and getting into some other gymnastic moves that I never imagined I could do.

I was 42 with 4 kids within 6 years (thanks COVID) and my body wasn’t bouncing back. I joined Georgia Strength because I was tired of throwing out my back picking up toys/kids, being out of shape, and frustrated with my “shrinking” clothes. Mostly clean eating/Keto/intermittent fasting weren’t working as I had hoped. But worst of all? I didn’t have the energy to play with my young kids. Ali and Brent taught me how to lift safely, grow measurably stronger and improve mobility. Best of all, they tailor workouts for me: a postpartum body with diastasis recti. Their level of knowledge is so extensive that I trust them to do things I wouldn’t dare attempt. Not all CrossFit gyms are the same. They genuinely care and remember your body issues. Ali and Brent will meet you where you are at. I’ve been going 3x/week for 62 weeks (and counting) and I’m changing for the better. For me, the increase in energy levels, ability to wear clothes I once avoided, and the bragging rights I badger my husband with are nothing compared to my kids’ admiration. They think their mommy is the strongest. And I am. Made possible by Georgia Strength. To top it all off, this is my community, my home away from home. That happens when you workout as hard as we do. Georgia Strength is a fantastic gym! I have been doing CrossFit for about a year and a half, and I joined Georgia Strength when I moved to Athens six months ago. I’ve been extremely happy here. The owners, Brent and Allie, are the best coaches I have ever worked with, and they have developed a great team. There is a strong focus on health and longevity in fitness, including working on proper technique. They give helpful coaching cues to support these goals. The programming is thoughtful and appropriate for a wide range of ability levels. My progress in CrossFit accelerated enormously when I started at Georgia Strength. I would highly recommend this gym to avid CrossFit athletes, experienced weightlifters, beginners to fitness, those recovering from injuries or time off, and anyone in between.

I have nothing but good things to say about Georgia Strength. I have been doing CrossFit for several years and moved to Athens for college hoping to find a new gym that feels like home, and Georgia Strength has made me feel so welcome in just a few short weeks!! I went to a different CrossFit gym in the area for my first few months of college but it never felt like a gym “home”- I was nervous to make the switch to Georgia Strength after so many recent changes in my life but I couldn’t be happier that I did. My performance has improved so much more at this gym and I have only been a member for less than 2 months. Not only have I improved on my best lifts but also on my weaknesses. I do both the CrossFit classes and Olympic lifting during open gym and Brent has been a huge help. I am recovering from a shoulder surgery & Brent has been more than willing to help me build back up to my goals safely and with confidence. It is comforting to know that the coaches have the athlete’s best interest in mind and want to see you succeed and cater to your individual needs and goals, not just supply you with a general cookie cutter program with no individuality like many other CrossFit gyms. The workouts are fun and I love the variety of movements and strength training. CrossFit really is for all ages, especially when the coaches are knowledgeable enough to adjust workouts based on the person. I cannot recommend this gym enough & I’m so happy that I joined.

This is an awesome gym. Fun CrossFit workouts and a good emphasis on strength training. The coaches are exceptional! They are all very helpful and knowledgeable. I believe Brent knows more about training and fitness than anyone in Georgia. He has helped me tremendously with my workouts, nutrition and improve from chronic injuries. don’t be scared bc it says cross-fit! that was my number one hang up and i’m sooo glad i talked with the owners before deciding whether to go here or not. i started at this gym pregnant and ali has coached me through my pregnancy and postpartum in the moms who move class which is SO supportive and non-competitive. the focus is always helping each individual get stronger and more mobile and i stayed very mobile during my entire pregnancy and beyond thanks to this gym!! they do all their own programming and tailor the exercises to your individual needs. i searched all over athens for a moms class and this is by far the very best one.

I can’t say enough GREAT things about this gym! I go to the Moms that Move class 3 days a week and I ALWAYS look forward to it! My kids love going and are happy while I work out which makes it even more enjoyable. The owners, Ali and Brent are hands on in and out of the gym! They literally care about you and your health as a person! Ali leads the Moms that Move class and she will structure your workout to your personal needs, she will cheer you on, help motivate you, push you to be your best and increase your confidence! You will SEE and FEEL results and you will feel stronger as well as empowered after just one class! The gym and people are inviting and not intimating at all! The support you get is in a league of its own. I’ve worked out my entire adult life and never experienced anything like this! Ali specializes in pregnancy and postpartum but they aren’t limited to anything. They have classes for everyone, kids, adults, seniors, special needs, moms, college students and everyone! Currently I’m working out in the Moms Who Move class and LOVE IT! Ali is certified in pre and post natal fitness and does a fantastic job programming our workouts and modifying for each person as needed. I've been a member of Georgia Strength for almost 3 years and continuously look forward to the gym every day. The workouts are always fun, diverse, and consistently challenging. The coaching staff is supportive and incredibly knowledgeable about strength training, Olympic lifting, and Crossfit movements/workouts for individuals at all levels. For individuals that are trying to improve their performance in a sport or specific area, the coaches are fantastic at creating custom workouts. Furthermore, they are great at providing strength and mobility rehab for those with injury. After dislocating my right shoulder while playing soccer, the GS coaches had me doing focused exercises that strengthened the muscles around my shoulder in order to heal and prevent future injury. They also provided scaled and safe workouts so that I could maintain my strength in other muscle groups and continue to get my heart rate up.
GS promotes a healthy and smart lifestyle that manifests in the physically and mentally strong people that make up the GS community. I highly recommend Georgia Strength if you’re looking for a gym in Athens that provides first-rate training and a supportive and fun community.

I loved my experience at Georgia Strength. I was in town for a couple of days for work and I wish I'd been there longer! My coworker and I both dropped in two days and got so much quality one-on-one coaching with their owner, Brent.
I love their programming--each day started with a warmup that was focused on the smaller stabilization muscles (so we'd take a slingshot for drills and then do some crossover symmetry exercises). Each day we worked in-depth on a lift and then proceeded to do an EMOM and a metcon. I believe I'm still sore, but in the best way possible.
Beyond the programming, I enjoyed Brent as a person. Clearly passionate about what he does and passionate about the safety of his members. I got lots of helpful cues from him on my snatch and clean and jerk that I'll keep moving forward. Plus, he has a great sense of humor.
I highly recommend this box. If I lived in Athens, I'd be a member in a heartbeat. Thanks for everything!

Georgia Strength is hands down the best gym in Athens! When I started here in April of 2014 I could barely snatch 100 pounds and could barely clean 125, now I can snatch 143 pounds and clean and jerk 175 pounds!! The progress I have made at this gym as an athlete is remarkable, just this year I qualified and totaled for my first national level weightlifting meet. I could not have done this without the help of Brent and Ali or the other members of the gym always pushing me to be my best. I have also had the joy of working under Brent and Ali and coaching some classes at Georgia Strength, I can truly say I have grown as a coach too. From the FitKids program, the general CrossFit classes, and the master's class this gym has something for everyone and I know that everything will be done according to your specific fitness level. No other place in Athens offers this level of coaching or this level of fitness. I love my Georgia Strength family, and I cannot wait to see what the new year has in store for us!

My two children, 11 and 8, have attended the FitKids program, which takes place 3 times a week after school. They have always played organized sports but we had some time this winter season without regular practices scheduled. A friend of mine had recommended the program, so I signed both children up. My eleven-year-old has continued way past our original time-frame, and looks forward to his time with Brent, Ali and the other extremely kind and supportive adults in the gym. He has more confidence, body control, and is having fun setting goals and reaching them. I love the discipline and exercise that the program provides. It is also extremely organized--Brent and Ali are available to answer questions at any point. Can't say enough!

My class is a functional training class. It is not cross for but it is i teval training with changing workouts that are functional for every day living. CrossFit has gotten such a bad reputation but trust me when I say that GA Strength is not your average CrossFit gym. The owners of GA Strength, Ali and Brent, genuinely know what they're doing and go above and beyond to ensure that they're teaching people the correct form for everything from Olympic lifts to squats to push-ups, etc.
Based on your level of fitness, they modify workouts so you don't over do it or hurt yourself. They don't just throw you straight into a regular CrossFit workout which is awesome because it shows how much they care about ensuring the safety of their clients.
Additionally, their emphasis on mastering technique and slowly building up endurance shows how sincerely they want to help you work toward your goals.
In my opinion, that is what sets GA Strength apart from other gyms. Ali and Brent really care about helping you achieve your goals as opposed to going to a gym that just tells you what the workout is and expects you to do it without modification or concern for your safety.
It's so amazing to be able to go to a gym where you know that the owners actually care about helping you as opposed to just making money off your membership there.
So, if you're looking for a gym where the owners/trainers are truly passionate about helping you achieve your goals, GA Strength is the place for you!

I'm very happy with my experience so far at Georgia Strength. I first started here in September in order to get away from the nonsense at some of the other big globo-gyms in town. The equipment and facilities are awesome and the best part is that you never have to wait for the annoying arms-day uber-macho weaklings to finish doing curls on the squat rack. There is a pretty good group of competitive guys and girls at Georgia Strength and I find that this helps motivate me when I'm feeling tired or lazy. However, there are people ranging from elite level fitness to beginners so almost anyone can feel comfortable in the gym.
Furthermore, there are a lot of knowledgeable athletes in the gym that can help you with form if you need but are not going to force it down your throat if you just want to do your thing. Brent, the gym owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and is always willing to work with you and your schedule.
Finally, I have been impressed with the programming so far. I love that the gym is strength focused, periodized, and performance oriented. Many other crossfit gyms sacrifice strength for the sake of met-con and longer hero WOD performance but I think Georgia Strength maintains a pretty good balance between the two. All in all, I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to build real strength and maintain conditioning in the process.

This place is awesome. I saw the Crossfit games on ESPN two summers ago and thought to myself, "that looks like a good workout." I decided to take the plunge. This is one of the best crossfit gyms I've ever been to and is by far the best anywhere nearby. The facilities are the best you will find for a crossfit gym. Fantastic people, superb equipment, and a professional space to work it out. From CrossFit to the Olympic lifters Brent has you covered with his experience and expertise. The trainers excel in looking at the whole body making sure you have the proper technique to, not only stay safe, but also to keep making gains and those PR's you’re after. Canine co-trainer Kilo is also a welcome addition to the team as she smothers you with kisses.
Personally I've made huge progress toward my goals and have never been stronger. My body works better and performs better because of training at Georgia Strength. Plus, I have been at other places where there wasn't adequate equipment or space and you won't find that problem at Classic City CrossFit.

Have been going to this gym for 6 weeks now and the results have been significant. Leg strength has increased, arm strength has increased, still working on better core strength via the intense glute ham sit ups. Brent the gym owner and proprietor is always there and attentive. As a added bonus, he is into local, organic, and wholesome food, which means he understands that health is a holistic concept. Often other trainers are on hand - like Graham, who is also helpful and consults on proper form. The support from other gym members is awesome too. Feels more like a community than any other gym where everyone just works out in their own little bubble. Would recommend to anyone looking to change their bodies and minds for the better.

Classic City Crossfit (C3), is one of the best gyms I have ever been
to. Brent (owner) and the other trainers (Niko,Ali, Andrew) are
excellent to train with and be around. All of the programming comes
from years of experience as well as a solid foundational knowledge in
anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, and a collaboration of the
literature produced by some of the greatest minds in sports fitness.
Their programming incorporates the fundamentals of strength training,
cardiovascular endurance, and plyometrics. I have witnessed many
athletes, male and female, transform from whatever fitness level they
come in with, to a well rounded athlete who has strength, good
technique, and endurance. The coaches are supportive and help you
learn in a way that suits your needs. In the first year of this gyms
existence, they were able to send multiple athletes to compete in the
Reebok CrossFit Regionals. It is almost unheard of for a brand new
gym to produce such high quality athletes in such a short time. Their
success, without question, lies in the coaching, programming, and
camaraderie demonstrated on a daily basis at C3. I recently moved
from Athens and frequently wish I was back there to train with my
friends and receive the excellent coaching. Though I am away, I
continue to utilize their programming at my new gym and I constantly
see gains in my Olympic lifts, strength, and cardio. I would
recommend this gym to anyone at any level of fitness.

I had been crossfitting for 3 years prior to arriving in Athens, GA. I was used to working around my injury (bad ACL surgery) and dealing with the pain. When I got to Classic City Crossfit / Georgia Strength and told Brent about my knee issues, he showed me the wonderful world of mobility. I used to do mobility exercises before, the basic ones, but Brent showed me that I didn't have to go through the pain and ice later. There was so much more I could do! The pain was preventable and I had no idea!

I came to Classic City CrossFIt after asking one of my friends how she stayed in shape following competitive gymnastics. She told me about CrossFit. After my first workout, I was hooked. It was one of the hardest workouts I had ever done and it only lasted 10min! After almost a year later, I am a complete CrossFit convert! I continue to love it. Brent and C3 truly changed my life, as well as my understanding of workout efficiency, strength and total body health.

“Before I started Crossfit, I was doing boot camp 3 days a week and running 15-25 miles a week and I thought I was in pretty good shape. After my first day at C3 I realized how wrong I was. I was unable to do almost everything Crossfit entails. I couldn’t do a pullup, ring dip, or handstand pushup. For squats, lunges, and presses, I was using a 14 pound bar during boot camp. I hadn’t even considered using a bar bell let alone adding weights to it. After 9 months at Classic City CrossFit I have lost 25 pounds and dropped 3 clothes sizes. I am now able to do 30 pullups in a row, 15 ring dips unbroken, and I just was able to string together my first handstand pushups. Although I have lost weight, I have gotten much stronger: my squat max has increased by over 30 pounds and my deadlift by 35 pounds. My mile time is also almost a minute faster since I began doing Crossfit. Even though I have become stronger, faster, and healthier since starting at C3, I still have a long way to go which continues to motivate me. The minute I accomplish one goal there is something else to improve on or something new to try. That is what I love most about CrossFit!

Best workout experience of my life.
I have been working out since I was in high school and never seen results like I have with Classic City CrossFit. The owner of the gym is the main coach. He is there all the time and has a genuine interest in the success of each individual client. On top of that, he has a wealth of knowledge that presents like a sixth sense. Without fail, he will accurately estimate the score an individual will have on a workout, or the amount of weight they will be able to lift. He will say "You're going to clean 135 today, right?". And sure enough, that's exactly what will happen.
I've been to several CrossFit gyms around the country, and what sets this one apart is that the flexibility in the schedule and programming allows for each person to reach their individual goals. The classes are not as structured as many gyms; so if I need extra time to warm-up, stretch, or work on a skill, I can do that without being behind everyone else. You do your workout when you are ready. Also, if I want to workout three times a week or two times a day, it's the same price and I get the same amount of attention.
Before Classic City Crossfit:
I was a personal trainer.
My goal was to do 10 pullups, and I was at about 7.
I tried for 6 months to do a handstand pushup and never got close.
I had never bench pressed more than 90 pounds.
I counted calories.
Working out was about vanity and I had to think of what to do everyday, without knowing what kind of difference it was making.
Since I've been at C3:
I don't recommend people waste money on personal trainers.
I can do 30 pullups. Unbroken.
I can do 15 handstand pushups. Got my first one after 1 month.
My max bench press is 150lbs.
I eat well and don't think about calories or the scale.
Working out has become a sport for me. I look forward to the gym everyday. I love finding out what the workout is for the day and preparing myself for it mentally. And at the end of the day, I have a quantitative indicator of the progress I have made. That is enough to make me never want to miss a workout.
To make it all better, the camaraderie and competitiveness between the members of the gym is a huge motivator. When a lift or workout is getting hard and someone yells from across the gym "Come On Get It! Keep it up! That's it!"...that's all it takes to push you to the edge. It's invigorating.

Classic City Crossfit is the elite of elite crossfits. From the trainers down to the clients, C3 breeds athletes and friendly competition. As a former D-1 athlete, Classic City Crossfit has improved my strength, agility and flexibility beyond the strength and conditioning program during college. I highly recommend any serious or interested parties to give C3 a try, you will be grateful that you did.
Hands down, the top crossfit in the Athens/Oconee area.
