Why is it always so HOT in this place?? Like the air is broken or something. This location definitely needs some more love from the owners. I go to this one because I like the womens area in the back but if they didn't have that I'd be going to a different location.

I love that they have a women's area, that's tucked away. However, the inside just looks old and cramped. There's no tanning or sauna and they close early on weekends. I like going at midnight or 1AM mostly, so I usually go to the Evans location, but use this one for the women's area when I can.

Not a fan of the gold's gym in Walton way. A lot of the machines are kind of falling apart. Everything is so close together and it's just uncomfortable when you can pretty much feel the person next you. A lot of the cardio machines don't work and their are no signs on them so it's just trial and error. No Sauna in this location if that's something you're in to. It's definitely time they remodel and upgrade their equipment.

Very well equipped gym. Staff is friendly and helpful, however the AC does not work properly and the roof leaks on equipment and patrons when it rains.

Loyal member for 3 years. Once I moved I went into the facility, filled out the paperwork and told the process was complete. Was charged for 3 more months including the annual "gym fee" totaling $100. When I called to be refunded I was met with rude questioning, blame for not keeping the receipt for 3 months, no ownership of mistake and no resolution. Will not be a member again.

I like that this gym has a womenβs-only room, but this is the worst Goldβs location in the CSRA. I come here during the work week because itβs the closest Goldβs to where I live but itβs super grimy.

This is not the one of the best Gold's Gym out there. There are spaces in the front of the store that are unused, the men's locker room has an unused space where only a TV sits. 4 out of the 5 showers in the men's locker room are not big enough for most grown men. The cycle instructor on Mondays plays the music for spin class so loud that people cannot hear their music from their headphones, 20 feet away. The cleaning material is not always kept up with, and half the time a person has to walk across the gym in order to wipe down the equipment. The only saving grace is that there is a decent amount of free weights and lifting machines.
Gold's has fallen since its hayday.

It's an alrighty gym, especially for the price $20/month but there is a $40 annual fee. They could enforce proper weight equipment treatment, a good portion of the equipment needs repaired, I feel it's from user mistreatment though. I would like to see more functional strength equipment but there are 5 squat racks and they allow deadlifts so I can't complain too much.

Drove all the way to this location only to find out: If your membership allows you to bring a guest, then this location will not allow you to sign them in. They would have to purchase a pass if they want to workout at this particular Gold's facility.
But the one in Aiken, SC and Evans do? π€π€·πΎββοΈ

I always attend Funk Aerobics and Zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays. These classes are great! Overall the gym is clean and well maintained. There are separate weight rooms for females and males, in addition to the open space lifting area. Only one water fountain from what I can see, which should not be the case.

This gym is a huge gym with tons of new and functioning equipment. There is a Women's Room in the back with many machines, a group fitness room, and a cycling room. The women's locker room is spacious with showers, lockers, and a tv area. Golds is one of the only gyms in Augusta that offers Les Mills programs (Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Step, RPM, Body Flow, Body Jam, etc.) and I can't rave enough about the excellent instructors. They're motivating and exciting and make your workouts something to look forward to.

I enjoyed the facilities while here in Augusta, and took some personal training sessions as well. I had military orders to transfer and during all the things going on forgot to give a copy to Golds before I left town. I was able to send my orders to Lauren who very kindly helped me cancel my contract so I could transfer to the Gold's here in Tallahassee with the help of Joe. I am very satisfied and will continue to patronize Golds during my travels!

I stayed in Augusta for about a month. Nathan, the manager at this location was able to help me out.
The gym is nice and the members there are very friendly to each other.
It does get busy during rush hour, but it's like that at any gym. What makes this gym different from the others is that everybody is willing to work in with each other.
The equipment is well maintained and wiped down after each use.

On an EXTREMELY important note, it is good to know that this gym has undergone a change in management recently and has made a major turn-around. Nathan has done an amazing job re-branding the image this gym has previously dealt with - There is zero doubt that it will continue to surpass expectations.
After reading other reviews I must dispute their accuracy seeing as the gym has changed dramatically. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean, smell great, Literally mopped and fresh every day that I arrive (7 days a week) and the lockers have all been refurbished with a beautiful wood grain.
The staff is always extremely friendly and available for any contact or support. They have helped to spot me during excessively heavy lifts without a single question. And there is ZERO peer pressure to anyone. ONLY POSITIVE VIBES!
Having met with a few of the trainers, they are very positive minded individuals who cooperate with you to reach your fitness and health goals while also being able to promote you reaching your potential. One trainer in particular Mr. Shank has been very inspirational and is highly recommended!
The gym has continued to acquire more weights for those of you who need them so the membership capacity should not even be a concern, you will have all the access to any weights or equipment you need at virtually any time.
There are great classes including a stationary bike set up for spin classes and even a room ready for large classes lead by trainers or for those of you performing in the bodybuilding/physique/bikini/figure classes who need to practice posing.
Child care is a huge plus though I have no children and it is of little concern to me now, but perhaps in the future it is a reassuring thought that you CAN utilize this service if need be.
On a lesser note I do feel that the gym could use a few rolling pads in their stretching area to better accommodate clients dealing with muscle tension and soreness. Then again, thats pretty much why your here in the first place.
I Highly recommend this GOLDS location and believe it will serve all of your fitness and health needs personally and professionally.

As far as equipment it has what you need the only issue is that nobody re racks weights and Dumbbells are scattered all throughout the gym. Not that this falls on the gym but they should enforce it. Your there to workout so carrying your stuff back to where it goes shouldn't be an issue

After management admitted to making a mistake in charging an extra 180 dollars for personal training, trying to get the money back has gone as far as it can without a lawyer and threats of being sent to collections when the charge was disputed. The manager here, Keith, is utterly incompetent, unprofessional, and dishonest. The experience at this Gold's gym has led to me and my family to never step foot on a Gold's gym here or anywhere else in the country for the rest of our lives. Avoid this gym at all costs, they will just blatantly find reasons to steal your money and will refuse to do anything to rectify the situation. 0/10. Avoid.

The only good thing was that it was across the street from the hotel I was staying at. They gym is unkept, dirty no one re rack weights, they are laying all over. The women's bathroom has the worse smell and the locker room was dirty and smelled awful. The staff sit at the front desk on their cell phones and don't even speak.

They have all the equipment I need, but they need way more weights. Everytime I walked away to find weight (there was none nearby), when I came back I'd find that someone took the weight I just went to get. This was super annoying! Also the fact that I couldn't have my little gym bag on the floor was weird to me, since my gym (24 hour fitness- Houston) never had this policy.
I also didn't like that I am only in town 2 weeks and had to purchase a $40 membership, when their monthly is only $45. They don't even have a 1 week rate, it is still $40. Live fit has one for $20/week but they have less machinery as it is more of a family gym.

Overall Great Gym, moved to Grovetown and left the gym to join another, big mistake. Gold's does not do contracts and the price is the best around! The equipment has some wear and tear, but it does the job, and if you learn the times the gym gets crowded, you can avoid that pretty easily.

BLUF: Good if you're passing through. Don't think I'll get a new membership in this particular franchise.
Good: Friendly staff, great hours, and number of squat racks
Bad: Weights laying everywhere; men's locker room is dirty with tons of broken lockers; gym is generally unkept

I've been coming to the Walton Way location for several years now and it's one of the best gyms I've been a member of. The hours are great, I've found myself coming in at 2am on certain occasions. The crowds aren't that bad if you avoid that early evening rush. I don't really see rude people either. Most just come in do their stuff, socialize a bit, and go home. My favorite part is the free weights area. There are 5 squat racks, FIVE! Plus a deadlift area. So you don't really have to wait around to do the big compound lifts. You can't really beat that for $20 a month, especially when you can bring a guest do the Bobby Jones location pretty much year round.

I recently moved back to Augusta from California was worried since I didn't recall a decent gym in the area when I was stationed here a few years ago. I also recently got into power lifting while deployed to Afghanistan. I was very pleased to find Gold's Gym offered quality equipment, a professional staff, good atmosphere and affordable rates. My wife and I became members and are very happy with our experience so far. What's more is child care is provided most of the week. Just an all around awesome gym.

First impression, Victoria (Vicki) is a fantastic hostess/greeter. She will help you if she can. The gym proper is clean and well kept. I haven't frequented the 'facilities' so I am unable to comment on their status, but I have no reason to expect their status is any different than the gym proper. The only negative (for me) is the missing free weights (on the lighter end). The trainers are professional and friendly.
