The owners and coaches at Grit Life are wonderful! I worked with Coach Hope on a semi-private basis this summer and she held me accountable with my diet and exercise and helped me to get back on track with my health and fitness goals. If you're looking for a place where you'll be pushed and stretched to go above and beyond, this is the place! Not only do they genuinely care about each and every one of their members, but they also give back regularly to their community through various fundraising events. Their zeal for fitness and love for people shows up all over the place! Highly recommend membership for anyone who is looking for a strong community of people who will encourage you to live life to the fullest at the gym and beyond!

I have been going to Grit Life Fitness for three months and I can tell you , Aristo has definitely helped me with balance and strength.. i’ve had multiple surgeries through the years, so I’m sure I have been a challenge to him but the patience and kindness has meant so much.. Aristo has been my Trainer and he is able to modify things that I’m not able to traditionally do and yet still get a great workout on specific muscles.. He has been patient , kind and so very knowledgeable with his skills

It has been over 25 years since I have even thought about working out. After visiting many gyms, I chose Grit Fitness because it wasn’t another “gym”, it was and is a change I very much needed. This is an excellent gym. It's not your average gym where you come and go at all hours. It's focused classes led by experienced trainers. They also provide nutrition counseling(which is so important), accountability, and a great environment that fosters growth and community. The owners and trainers are amazing! Being part of the GRITS family has been a great change in my life. I workout 6 days a week, each day is a different activity lasting 45 minutes. I’ve enjoyed fitness classes more than just running on the treadmill alone but stopped going to the gym about 10 years ago bc many of the exercises hurt my knees & I was never shown any modifications to the exercises. I’m so thankful my daughter told me about Grit Life! Every single one of the coaches takes the time to show me different ways to do the exercises that are easier on my knees but still provide results. I love how all the members here are supportive of each other & encourage yet push one another. I’ve never felt embarrassed for not being at the same level as some who have been coming longer, which in the past is something that pushed me away from the gym.
I love their approach to overall health & wellness. By using their nutritional program that was custom designed for me, I’m learning the right foods my body needs to work comfortably & reduce inflammation. My goal was to be able to play with my grandsons without pain & I’m well on my way with so many non-scale victories (& have also lost nearly 10 lbs in a month).

I’ve been working out at Grit Life for over 3 months. I had my bloodwork done last week at my doctor and everything that was high is now down to normal range, and my blood pressure has been consistently at good levels. This place is more than a gym. I have made friends and just like Cheers "you want to go where everybody knows your name." In all seriousness, all coaches care about you, check in and don't just care about your money or looking like a body builder. I have never been one to go to or stay with a gym because of judgement. I’ve been a member at Grit Life for a year now and for a few months before two years ago before an injury took me out for a bit. I struggle with getting the worry of the number on the scale out of my head and focusing on how I feel and the changes I see and Grit Life has helped me with that. I have known Lindsay Mattingly for several years. I used to go to a bootcamp where she coached. After she left and I left, I kind of lost track, but found her on FB. I followed her and her husband's (Justin Mattingly) journey with opening their own gym. I procrastinated for three years about joining their program. I even privately texted Lindsay on more than one occasion requesting information about their gym. At one point, in one of my darkest hours, I texted her asking advice on how to get myself back, my health back, happiness back, etc. She PERSONALLY called me and left a detailed message. This is a person that GENUINELY CARES about people. l finally took the leap, and I am 7 weeks in with my Nutrional plan and personal Coach (Hope Crumley Thompson, WHO IS AMAZING). I feel so good mentally and physically. I'm down 17 pounds and I look forward to every time I walk into the gym for my workouts. I am a girl that went from a wheelchair, ankle replacement, hip replacement, etc. and I haven't felt this strong and happy since my bootcamp days before COVID. So don't be me...don't procrastinate. Don't put off feeling good now.

Grit Life Fitness is the best gym in Canton! I play college lacrosse and these workouts challenge me every workout, the coaches are amazing they encourage and push you in a good way. The workouts can also be moded down if you've never worked out before, it's very beginner-friendly. The coaches do a great job at keeping you accountable and staying on track. Lastly, the community this gym has is unparalleled to every other gym I've ever been to, after being here for the summer I've connected with so many different people and they are all amazing!!

Had been at a previous HIIT gym for over 2 years that abruptly went out of business. I had to find a new gym home and after many unsuccessful free workout/trials I was certain I wouldn’t find a gym I was use too. I decided to give Grit a chance and it has not only surpassed my expectations but the community and high level of experience the coaches have has amazed me. I am on week 6 and with their nutritional and pre-planned workouts I have lost over 16lbs and reduced my body fat % significantly. I cannot recommend Grit Life Fitness enough for any level of fitness you might be looking for!!!

Grit Life Fitness has been such a saving grace! After moving last summer I spent some time setting up my home gym. The apps are convenient and user friendly. My coach was always available and quickly responded to questions. The workouts are fun and the community support is like family. I really enjoyed working out at Grit Life Fitness. The classes were really organized and I liked how seamless the process was when it came to booking a class, speaking with your coach, and even being a part of a larger community of people who have the same goal in being fit. Unfortunately, I had gotten sick one week since my child was sick, so I missed an entire week, and then I had other family things going on in the mornings, so I'd end up doing the workouts on my own when I wasn't able to go. Lindsay and Justin are amazing owners. Coach Carrie was awesome. Coach Denny made sure that I was getting the most out of my workouts and I would be asked about how my nutrition is going. I have gained the accountability aspect that I was looking for. The distance also made it a bit tough, especially since I live 30 minutes away from the gym and my schedule sometimes wouldn't work out, but for those in the area, I highly recommend checking out Grit Life Fitness. You won't regret it!

I joined Grit back in June 2023 after coming off two years of limited mobility after a car wreck with broken leg and collar bone. Grit has helped me regain my strength back . The workouts are 45 minutes , not too long and they go by quick. The coaches are very knowledgeable and supportive on wherever you are in your fitness journey!!! The community is excellent as well. Pros: The owners are nice and do establish constant communication and are easy to get ahold of. The physical location is equipped well, and the idea of having a “personal coach” is intriguing. I am giving this review two stars for the aforementioned.
Cons:
The 6 week free transformation challenge is a SCAM!!!!!!! They will take your card information and charge you at least $750 for this challenge with the idea being you’ll “see the return of this investment with this much of a discount on a future membership.” So it is not free at all. (Fair disclosure I signed a contract with that in the print so I wasn’t able to get anything back, but I felt forced into signing and was intimidated into committing to this amount.) I understand a program like this being free is probably too good to be true (it is), but it’s malicious and false marketing/advertising. Due to this and the additional cons below I did NOT proceed forward with a membership.
The nutrition coaching is supposed to be custom to you, but you’ll quickly learn (through the gyms required accountability app) everyone is getting the same meals. Each person is not a one size fits all, and thus should not be treated as such.
The coaches are kind and I’m sure wonderful people, but lack any type of enthusiasm. I was not motivated at all during the workouts which is most of the point of going in person to a gym. The playlists leave something to be desired, and I was there on at least one occasion when a coach didn’t even know what a certain exercise was that they were supposed to be teaching (and correcting form on) that day. In a fitness position, you really should be thoroughly trained on all exercises you plan to coach and the best form as well as modifications for clients. I did not feel confident at all in any of the coaches education.
Like mentioned above, when you sign on you are assigned a personal coach. This coach is one of the instructors that you’re supposed to check in with from time to time for accountability purposes. While I think this is probably a good idea, it felt forced to me and I never was able to be open and honest with someone I didn’t know at all. A better way to do this would be to have every new client meet all the coaches and have them select who they would like as their personal coach after a little “meet and greet.” You could even have an event where a bunch of new clients and all the coaches meet and mingle. It would increase trust and thus also boost accountability.
Finally, the incessant sales of protein powders, supplements, pre workout, etc. It felt like every single day I was getting a text, app notification, and email that they were trying to sell me something else. They also tried to use the “it’s so discounted I’m probably losing money” tactic that just really puts a bad car salesman taste in my mouth.
Overall, I would not recommend Grit Life Fitness to my friends or family. If you are someone who just wants to be told what exercises to do, how many reps, and basically do any other work (nutrition, form, etc) on your own- this might be a good fit for you, but you can get the same thing (or better) from other free, or significantly more cost effective, sources. If you choose to join, be very careful of what you sign.

Every single coach and the owners are positive and high energy! I've never felt so accepted and cheered on until I found Grit Life Fitness!!! Now I'm excited every day to go workout! I was never a fan of conventional gyms because I wanted guidance, form corrections, and ability to work out with others. I wanted to find a place that had coaches, group classes, and community. soooo… this is long, but bear with me.
3 years ago i started working out with my first coach michelle at one life. i loved it, love her & still able to be friends. ❤️ i’ve been in the gym off & on since like 2017 but always failed because got tired of googling exercises so when i started working out with michelle to get in shape for my wedding i loved it… was going great, meal prepping, showing up to workout with her 3x a week. she even taught me how to box (man do i miss that).
september 2021 came, my husband & i caught the covid so it put a halt on my working out & didn’t have an appetite. well, got over it & tried going back to my workouts with michelle but i had the never ending side effect of covid with getting out of breathe… so between that & i got a new job our schedules didn’t workout together & then my husbands seizures started getting worse so i put myself on the back burner & of course was trying to figure everything out about that… we finally got answers & he got the correct treatment he needed last year october 19, 2022 & he’s been doing tremendously better so i decided that this year beginning of 2023 i was focusing on my health again & becoming better as i turn 30 in january of 2024… a couple girls i worked with went to grit life & always said how much they love it… i followed grit for a while then decided to have my consultation with lindsay. came home & talked to my husband about how it all went & told him i was doing it & he supported/supports it/me…
going was so out of my comfort zone because that’s not something i would normally do, but i absolutely love it & am so glad that i joined. i have been doing so much better with my workouts & they have helped me with my nutrition that i am actually eating stuff i had never eaten before… i meal prep & majority of the time i stick to it, there is still like maybe 15-20% of the time every once in a while i will give him and eat some kind of junk but before if i did that i would just fall off track & never get back on. so far i’ve lost 20 pounds since the beginning of the year & even though the scale doesn’t want to move i can tell i’m still losing because i’m having to buy smaller clothes.
for example we just had a long weekend of camping & before i’d come home & say i’ll just wing my meals for the week, but i’m almost done with my meal prep for the week ❤️ this place & the people from coaches & other clients has changed my life 😊

I have waited to post for 3 months to give this some time. While Grit life has great trainers, the owner is more concerned about the financial rewards herself. I was presented with a 6 week introductory offer of $700 that was to be continued at no charge for 6 more weeks. However, after the first 6 weeks expired she turned off my app immediately and never contacted me for further membership options. She was unresponsive to my efforts to contact her. Very disappointed!!

GritLife Fitness is beyond awesome. Not only are the staff fantastic but the workouts a specifically designed for each individual.
My favorite part about this gym is that there are NO machines. You use your body weight (and bands, ropes, etc) to workout. YOU have to do it, NOT the machine!!!

I am so thankful for Lindsay and the team at Grit! I have tried other gyms and programs and never felt like I was a part of something or felt like a number. The personal training in a group setting is what I need. Someone that is going to push me to my limits to make me stronger and believe in myself. Not to mention when I have a bad week, or get in my feels (we’re girls we all do that at times) the coaches are there to remind you that you’re human! Followed by more encouragement and checking in. Nine months ago, I was overweight, pre-diabetic and had very high cholesterol. After trying to eat healthy and get fit on my own, I knew I needed accountability. My wife and I reached out to Lindsay and she customized a plan for both of us. This included not only weekly workouts, but a nutrition plan and weekly to bi-weekly check-ins.
Now nine months later my life is back on the right track. I've lost over 40 pounds, my A1C and cholesterol levels have dropped back into the normal levels, I ran a marathon and now two weeks out from running my first ultra-marathon (a 50K).
I highly recommend Lindsay and her team to anyone, whether local or our of town, like we were!

Me and my husband both are memebers. There are convient times to workout in the morning or in the evening. Everyone there is super friendly and always cheering each other along.

I was so excited when Grit Life opened. I have had a long fitness journey and this place has already taught me so much. The workouts are very challenging and you always get a great calorie burn with a good sweat. The trainers will work with you no matter what fitness level you are on. They are not all about jumping and doing everything at a fast pace. They teach you to be slow and controlled when you need to be and how to really burn out that muscle. These workouts have been easier on my joints and knees and I’m still achieving great results. Grit was the push that I needed to get to my fitness goals. I just had my second baby who’s exclusively breastfeeding and was afraid to try “fad” diets that would affect my supply.
