I am very grateful for Amy! She creates a great environment with challenging workouts that are creative and never repetitive. I highly recommend her gym.

I was in Atlanta for a week and had 5 individual kettlebell sessions with Amy, and 2 classes. My wife also had a session with her. This was my introduction to kettlebells. Amy is incredibly knowledgeable, observant, and her feedback is unbelievably helpful. A gem of a studio. I’ll go back every time I’m in Atlanta.

Amy rocks! I have been going to Iron Root for a year and that's the longest I have ever stayed dedicated to any fitness routine! She is such an amazing instructor along with Chris and Jess. It's a great crowd and you end up getting to know everyone pretty well after awhile- which just adds to the supportive ambience! :)

I have been going to Iron Root for about a year now and my results have been awesome! I have lost weight, gained strength (in just about every lift), and at the same time have increased my flexibility to just about the best it has ever been. This gym will give you results if you just stick with it. Having the different types of classes (yoga, Kettlebell, and group fitness) definitely keeps you from burning out on any 1 specific class. Not that throwing around kettlebells ever gets old.

Great individual coaching is so valuable compared to just showing up to a gym with no trainer.

Drop-ins beware you must take Saturday intro class first. Their website says "Visiting from out of town or want to try a couple of classes to see what we're all about? Drop ins are welcome for group fitness and kettlebell classes (with previous experience)." But the only thing that counts as "previous experience" is to have taken their once a week introductory class on Saturday. Experience at other studios will not count. I sat in Atlanta traffic forever to get to this place, searched for a parking place, waited for the instructor to appear and then couldn't take the class. It's fine to have the requirement, but make it clear on the website.

The BEST exercise studio! I feel so lucky to have found and joined Iron Root. Amy is an amazing coach, always making me do more than I believe I can. Amy cheers everybody on, the environment of the studio is great, the people are terrific, and Iron Root has made me a happier and healthier person. I love it!

I joined Iron Root because Amy has the most fantastic yoga workout class in the city. I've started working with Kettle Bells and can't wait to try Group Fitness. This is a really nice small gym, focusing on total fitness. I love the unlimited class membership and the flexible schedule offerings.
Working out here gives you the added benefit of Oakland Cemetery and Atlanta skyline views. :)

I've been going to Amy's classes for a couple years now and I am so happy she opened her own studio, right here in Grant Park. The yoga classes are great and the kettlebell classes are challenging, but also great. Amy really knows how to motivate you in each of her classes.

If you think all fitness studios are alike, I URGE you to give Amy Rakestraw at Iron Root Studio a try.

The studio offers a wonderful mix of kettlebell, group fitness and yoga classes. The facility is open and airy; it also has a shower (which is great for us who like to work out before we go to work!) The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly, not competitive at all; the only challenge you will receive is the challenge to do YOUR personal best.

Amy is your person to get you in shape! In addition to challenging me, she encourages me, and at times, has more faith in my ability than I do.

I am so stoked for Iron Root Studio!

Need some yoga to help out at tweaked back? There's that! The yoga is great for when you need a plank-apalooza or just need to chill and stretch.

The group fitness class offers comradery, a gosh-darn good workout and a time to reflect on how amazing hip hop was in the 90s. It's my new happy hour!

Kettlebell will make you feel like Abbi from Broad City, minus the mirror mishap.

The owner and trainer Amy is great! She knows how to motivate without being crazed or overzealous. The classes are small and supportive, and I know that my work there will finally get me to that elusive handstand!
