My niece came to visit from Alabama for the summer. She originally came to attend camp at Mercer for two weeks. After volunteering to work with a Kali Dance Studio before I wanted my niece to experience what I have seen as a volunteer. Her parents agreed to let her stay for an additional week. I thought the experience would be fun. The first day of camp she came home and asked how long she would be attending. I explained one week. Her response one week just wasn’t enough! Her first day there, she was marching in the Juneteenth parade. She got the chance to dance to Tina Turner songs, and make friends, and she even get to participate in pajama day. She absolutely loved the experience, the people, and most of all the chance to dance. Next year I hope she can attend the summer camp for all four weeks. She had wonderful stories to tell every day when she got home. Thanks Kali dance studio for the arts for making my niece smile.

I love this place!!!! The energy and the amount of concern and commitment from the staff for these girls is why I put my daughter here. I appreciated the text message that I received afterwards asking me questions about how I felt about everything and provided an update about my baby. Kali’s dance studio is amazing. I signed my niece up for the first time last season and she loves it. Terra is very professional and has an amazing spirit. I love the way she loves her girls. I had been searching for a dance school for my daughter for 2 years before I finally decided to give Kali a call. I had been hearing mixed reviews about it and was just hesitant about calling. One day while in the store I saw this little girl in a ballet outfit and I asked her Mom where she went for ballet lessons and she told me Kali Dance Studio, downtown and she loves it! I said okay, thank you for sharing and I went on to ask her a couple more questions. About a year later, I unknowingly ran into that same little girls dad and we started talking about our daughters. I told him how I had met his daughter in the store one day and that I was searching for a good dance school for my daughter. Needless to say, he also had all great things to say about Kali! It was at that point and that same day actually that I gave Kali Dance Studio for the Arts a call. My daughter has been dancing with Mrs. Terra ever since & she absolutely Loves it! My 5 year old daughter attends Kali Dance Studio's Tuesday class for ballet and hip hop. We put her into Kali Dance Studio after doing research. My wife and I are very happy we made this decision. A week before putting our daughter into the program, her teacher at school noted that she was beginning to act shy in class. Since attending Kali Dance Studio in November 2021 my daughter has been student of the month and has been recognized on several occasions for being a leader and having confidence. As a grandparent I was looking for a high quality activity my 3 year old twin granddaughters could participate in. We tried gymnastics, then karate. Neither really worked successfully but when I enrolled them into Kali Dance Studio they blossomed. They're more confident, disciplined and extremely excited about attending weekly practices with Ms Terra Hitchcock and her awesome staff. We've recommended cousins and family friends who've also enjoyed the activities offered there. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. All the teachers are amazing and the dances they create are beautiful. My daughter has only been here a few months and she absolutely loves it and feels at home. Mrs. Terra will keep you posted on all upcoming performances and recitals as well as walk you through any questions you may have in between. my granddaughter attends this studio and I am very pleased with her progress. The dance instructor is so kind, outgoing and seems very vested in the well being of the students. my granddaughter looks forward to every rehearsal because she enjoys being with the other dancers and learning the different routines. The instructor is always so kind with a big smile and exuberant personality but the kids recognize how serious she is when it’s time for rehearsal.

I can't say enough good things about this dance studio, the director (Terra ), and the faculty. KALI manages doing two things incredibly well; it is both a very warm, welcoming, friendly studio and also an incredible training facility for dance. Terra and the faculty are very supportive and attentive to all the kids, regardless of their level. They keep a careful eye on who needs what kind of work and suggest classes accordingly. It's remarkable how well they know each kid, and everything they are dealing with both in and out of dance. They also enforce a policy of all the kids being nice to each other! This studio provided everything we were seeking for our girls. Both our 3 year old and 12 year old are enrolled in classes here and love it! We have only been going for about 6 months and the results are amazing!! Kali Studio had their "Dorthy Meets the Wiz " show yesterday and seeing my girls on stage was truly a proud moment for me. It was their first recital and the skills and techniques that Kali has taught them really showed up on stage. The entire show was A+ quality and all dances were clean and age appropriate. I first took my daughter to Kali Dance Studios at the age of 2. She cried terribly but Ms, Terra remained calm. I removed her from the classes realizing she was too young to grasp everything. Fast forward exactly one year. My daughter not only began dancing with Kali but she advanced far beyond my expectations. We are now entering our fourth year and the sky is the limit. Not only has Ms. Terra and her staff molded a true dancer in my child but they have given her valuable insight to the world and expressions of the art of Dance. After seeing an ad for Kali Dance Studio I convinced her to give dance a try again. She is now 9 years old and have been dancing with Ms. Terra since she was 5. Not what we imagined it would be, signed up for ballet and end up doing praise dance? You won't feel like you belong there and staff does not try to get to know you. it's more like favoritism or they have history with each other. Needs a better building and dance rooms. Save your money and time and go somewhere else where you will feel welcomed and will get your money's worth.
