It's a pass from me. Was in the area babysitting my niece for a few days and happy to see a gym I belong to nearby. Old equipment, dirty, and BADLY in need of a remodel. The thing that annoyed me most is all of the cleaning wipes were out at each station both days I went. I saw 5 employees just sitting around at the front desks doing absolutely nothing. The new renovations are good and were much needed. I’m not entire sure what the new turf-like area is for exactly, but I’m happy we have three new squat/deadlift racks which are much more versatile than the previous squat/milpress racks.

Place is clean and doesn’t reek, sauna is good and smells like old wood which is nice, and the weights aren’t withered and old like they are at some places.

I started going to this LA Fitness after my job moved and the Sandy Springs Crossing location wasn’t convenient anymore. I frequent the gym a lot and I would go to this gym 3 times a week and my local gym in Camp Creek on the weekends. So I’ve been to my fair share of LA Fitnesses in the Atlanta area and this one was night and day. The gym looks super nice at first, but after a week of early morning workouts, I have to say this LAF might be up there with the worst.

The women’s showers are disgusting. Every morning between 5:30–7:30am, there were clumps of hair EVERYWHERE like someone was giving out free haircuts??? And it wasn’t just once it was every single day. At that hour, it’s clear no one’s cleaned. A few strands are expected, but this literally made me want to throw up.

The locker room vibe is also a bit much. Let’s say “openness” seems to be the norm. 😂 Not the end of the world, but definitely something to know going in.

It also gets very crowded in the mornings, and the member vibe (not staff) felt kind of entitled. Between the filth, the crowd, and the early morning cheek parade, I ended up joining the Y down the street in the interim. It’s not as big as I’d like, but at least it’s clean! and that makes a big difference.

If you’re someone who just works out and then goes home then this might be a good place for you, unfortunately morning workouts work best for me and with my commute time… I just don’t have that luxury.

That said, I’m still looking for a more permanent gym to go to bc even though I’m on a discounted rate, paying extra $ just to go to the Y in addition to paying my current LAF membership is sure to catch up to me. So I’m torn between ending my LA Fitness membership altogether bc of this or just thugging it out and making that trek from Sandy Springs every day 🤦🏾‍♀️

Horrible experience here. I went here looking for a couple months of personal training. They tricked me into a package that was nine months long and costs 4000 dollars without telling me what was in the contract. When I went in to cancel it, the manager Trin ends up telling me I would have to pay over a thousand dollars just to get out of it. He then behaves very rudely and doesn’t do anything to help out. I would expect better from a manager at a gym that has so many locations across the country.

I have been to a number of LA Fitness locations across the metro Atlanta area. The Windward location is my current 'home' location. The Windward location is the cleanest one. Armando works his tail off every morning keeping the Windward location clean, the soap dispensers filled, the paper towel dispensers filled, and multiple other things he does each and every morning. I wish I could say the same for other locations. I visited the Lavista (Northlake area) location this past Monday morning. The sinks in the men's locker room were not clean and there was no paper in the paper towel dispensers. This is both an atta boy for Armando at Windward and a call to action to the other locations to pickup their game.

I do enjoy this LA Fitness, it’s in an amazing location, has all the amenities one could need and a nice training center. I’d like to see more mat Pilates classes especially on nights and weekends. The reason for the score of 3 is this facility needs a major facelift especially in the ladies restrooms and pool area. It looks like the jacuzzi is never drained and scrubbed as there is a grayish/tan film that is caked on around the waterline. Ceiling tiles need changing, walls need to be painted, etc.; it looks like general maintenance hasn’t been happening for quite some time. The employees are super nice and helpful.

Toxic environment. Old men constantly hit on women in the middle of workouts. They also will come up to your machine and adjust the weights without your permission or even take the machine from you. When staff gets involved, they will gaslight you and advise the victim just to accept the behavior instead of correcting it or giving warnings to the offending party. Beware!

I have been a member of many different gyms and fitness organizations throughout my life and I really love this location of LA fitness. The staff were all so knowledgeable and friendly they don’t make you feel silly for asking help with the machines or recommending the best cardio machines, etc. Ken, or Kenny- not sure which-was really sweet, and most importantly, I was NOT PRESSURED!! I hate that sales tactic!! He was patient and kind, had some good advice. I would ask for him.
The gym is definitely cleaner than most gyms I’ve gone to, which is a huge plus. I haven’t done the classes yet but I hope to do so soon. My only recommendation would be to add on one or more classes for seniors there; I’d love to bring my mom to a seniors swimming class or light aerobics or something like that.

The staff are polite, and for as crowded as the gym gets, seem to do a good job of cleaning and maintaining equipment… equipment used that much will fail eventually, but it’s usually fixed pretty quickly. During off hours it’s not bad, but during the after work peak can which can run 4-8 here many days, it can be tough to get the weight equipment you need because the gym is so busy.

There’s also an issue with people being on their phones in the locker rooms. I get being on mine in the gym for music and workout tracking, but put it away where people are showering and changing please… I haven’t seen anything suspicious but still, bad form.

If LAFitness opened up another location to take some load off this one during peak times and had a no electronics in the locker room (and no filming in the gym which has been happening a bit lately) it’d be a 5 star gym for the price.

Just spoken with a representative over there and she kept cutting me off once I asked about the annual fee.. she started telling me what PF annual fee rule was and all and as I stated changes are made daily.. then she question did I read my contract I stated how many people do but I would of targeted paid all at once than to have separate pay coming out.. Appalling Experience - Avoid LA Fitness Membership!

I had an absolutely appalling experience at LA Fitness recently that forced me to cancel my membership immediately. My brother, cousin, and I visited the gym around 9:00 PM, intending to have a quick workout session. However, what transpired was beyond belief.

Around 9:55 PM, just before closing time, we headed to the restroom to freshen up before leaving. To our horror, we were met with hostility from one of the janitors. Instead of a welcoming atmosphere, we were subjected to a barrage of racial slurs and threats.

The janitor who was an African American male not only directed derogatory terms like “Chicos” at me, my brother, and my cousin (we aren’t even Hispanic) but also targeted a group of Hispanic individuals directly who happened to be freshening up separately. He then proceeded to verbally assault and threaten physical violence against all of us, using explicit language and profanities throughout.

Feeling deeply shaken and humiliated, we attempted to leave peacefully, but the janitor continued his tirade, leaving us feeling even more vulnerable. This level of aggression and bigotry is utterly unacceptable, especially from someone representing a business.

In response to this horrifying incident, I canceled my membership that same night. No one should have to endure such treatment, let alone at a place where they are paying to be a member.

If you’re considering joining LA Fitness, I strongly urge you to reconsider. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone. Your safety and dignity should never be compromised, regardless of where you are.

In conclusion, steer clear of LA Fitness if you value your well-being and respect. Seek out a gym where you’ll be treated with the professionalism and decency you deserve.

Jasmine the manager, was no help and totally stubborn to the case without any suggestion on how to help my case. Her only reply was call your credit card. I've been working out at LA Fitness Alpharetta for 8 months. The remodel over the summer was a huge improvement for the overall experience. Some new weights and new equipment, great new training area with turf and plenty of space. Reorganized to be more intuitive.

I've been working out with Olga for personal training since August, and she is amazing! If you're looking for a personal trainer, I highly recommend her! She created a program that was comprehensive but also something I can do on my own. And just when I was getting used to it - she switches it up to keep me on my toes! She demonstrates every exercise, pays attention to my form and corrects as needed. She is encouraging, pushing as needed, but also paying attention to make sure I stay hydrated during my workout and don't overestimate how much weight I can handle. Olga really makes working out "have to" and more "want to!"

The gym had a complete overhaul and is not the same gym I joined a couple of years ago, in all the best ways! The machines and free weights are all new and spectacular. The cardio equipment is all new! The locker rooms are clean and spacious, with updated saunas. The flooring has been replaced and the main gym is reconfigured to make workouts more efficient. The air conditioning system is also new, and it was so nice and cool in the building!

What hasn’t changed are the people who work hard to make sure members have the best options to reach their goals. I’m very grateful to Jay Braun for his help in ensuring I’m getting the best value, and the flexibility when I needed to make changes. A great facility is only as good as it’s people, and this one has the best!

The personal trainers are 2nd to none! I’ve been working with Olga for the past 4-5 months, and am in the best shape of my life! Recommend this location and Olga to anyone to enjoy staying fit!

I think this gym has only been opened a few months after renovations. This was my first visit to this location. It’s incredibly spacious, bright and well equipped. AC was set at perfect temp. Love the personal training area which can be utilized during off peak hours. It’s kind of hidden off to the side. The indoor performance turf area is absolutely great if you crave some space and don’t want to be crammed in the back to do weights. Equipment is all new and upgraded. Observed a personal trainer with a client and she was very effective and attentive. (I’ve witnessed other trainers at other gyms scrolling through their phones while client was doing reps.) I went right before the rush hour and members were roughly between the ages of 25-50. Nice respectful crowd at this hour. You could see they were at a gym for one thing - to work out. Pool was clean which might be attributed to the fact that the British swim school is not offered at this location. They also have a juice/snack bar. The drawbacks were the showers, sink and toilet area. They were very dirty and very much in need of a good scrubbing. Not sure if any renovations were done here, but might need it. Also a minor point was the front receptionist seemed quite flustered and didn’t a knowledge clients walking in. Again, maybe because it just reopened and she was a new hire. She raised the check-in scanner from the behind desk and seemed quite bothered. Not a big deal but on my other visits to different locations, I’ve enjoyed the occasional and friendly shout out - “have a good work out!”

Such SUBSTANTIAL improvements and updates were made since I last reviewed this location. Not just with equipment but also the flooring ~ No more nappy carpets..! There's a new turf area for HIIT and free weight workouts. All the other machines were methodically rearranged: you can find an ab isolated area by the bathrooms and even a mat area on the second floor with the cardio.
Things you should know:
I. PARKING
There is a massive, free parking lot out front of the main entrance.
II. SERVICE
No complaints, but nothing outstanding to say either.
III. QUALITY
They have a wider variety than other locations we've been to. This particular location is best diversified for weighted back and leg exercises. Other LA fitnesses nearby just don't have what they have..!
In the cardio areas there are televisions, which is nice because not all LA Fitnesses have that luxury of a distraction.
IV. CAPACITY
Busy during your standard rush hour times. Lunch time seems to be the time to go or weekends.

The GM, Jay, the WGM Jeff and the membership advisors all the way up to the staff at the desk are the most friendly, personable people. They make my workout experience exceptional.Since they’ve updated the club it’s amazing the way that it’s laid out is ergonomically, correct. I am a former lifetime fitness member, and this club has lifetime beat as far as bang for the buck goes high highly recommend I am a former IFBB pro and I approve this message. I have been coming to LA since last 2 years and I have been to other LA locations around Alpharetta but found this one to be the best. The staff takes a lot of measures to keep the place clean and organised especially a big shout out to Jeff who I see arranging the place even until late to make sure we get the things the way it was left the day earlier. The front staff is always warm and welcoming and I love coming to this facility for my fitness goals. I would highly recommend other people to consider this location for their workouts and they do have classes as well.

This location freaking rocks! So many gyms are missing equipment and you can never find what you want, but they just redid everything and it’s fully stocked. And everything is so clean and nice. Seriously love this gym.

Took 3 ellipticals for one to work 😕 Ended up using the only one of several that was updated. Looks like it could be an older branch, possibly more outdated. Could use an update on ellipticals at least, I did not use other equipment. The sauna had black stuff on the handle to the door, a funny smell, and some broken things on the wall inside. On a positive note the staff was friendly.

Yes dated machines BUT customer Service is the best in Atlanta Metro hands down. Front desk experience was uplifting. They just helped me sign in and it was impressionable. Thank you Ladies, loved the valentine's inspired nails 💅

The pool is really clean in this LA Fitness in comparison to others I've visited. I only swim in this location's pool... kind of makes me a stickler, but hey! I like clean water!
