I joined the cumming branch of La fitness a few months ago - sometimes I have attend the other branches in the area (as my membership offers), but this location is my main go to for a reason - the staff is professional & friendly & the facility itself is clean and enjoyable to use. I would like to say that my experience on my visit to this location was impacted by Valerie the Director of the health club in the most positive way. Based on my initial interaction over the phone I wasn’t pleased with the outcome and had no intention to follow up with membership. I enjoy my work out here three or more times a week, and have since returning from the west coast (Seattle/Bellevue area) in December of 2019. The equipment is always in good condition and rarely tagged-out for repair. The staff is friendly and helpful, too. It's one of the cleanest clubs I have experienced in over 20 years of work-outs! Plus, it is in the same shopping center as Sprouts grocery store!

This is one of my favorite LA fitness locations in north Georgia. Its smaller than most of them, but makes up for it in good customer service, very well-maintained equipment, and the lack of a basketball court and pool means a smaller crowd. I see some reviews mentioning the smell and I learned it was due to some rain damage. Its not really something I can fault them for since its mostly out of their control, but those smells are gone and the pictures in other reviews doesn't reflect what it looks like now.

I’ve been coming to this gym since March, so about eight months now, and it’s been a great experience. I really like the variety of machines and how it’s never too crowded.

Russ is an amazing personal trainer. He’s got an advanced degree in the field and really knows how the body and muscle groups work. He doesn’t just focus on workouts, but also checks in on nutrition, mindset, and stress to tailor everything to your needs.

Kurt is also a great trainer and has taught me a lot of new techniques. Both Russ and Kurt are super friendly and easy to work with.

Overall, I’ve had an awesome personal training experience here and would recommend this gym to anyone looking to take their fitness to the next level.

My partner and I checked out this place on day on a Saturday. The employees were very nice. The bathrooms were very clean, and I was surprised how spacious it was inside. However, the place had such a poor smell and there weren't many ways to wipe off the machines (no one was cleaning after themselves). The ceiling had many leak stains, and some stains extended to the walls. I decided that for $30 per month (plus the annual fee), it just wasn't worth it.

Nasty everywhere, stinky showers , nobody cleans this place. No soap always empty, no toilet paper , equipment is old and rusty. This gym is truly a sensory experience. Deodorant? Optional. One deep breath and the B.O. hits harder than your last bench PR. Smelling salts are obsolete when the air itself is hostile. Need ambiance? Enjoy the growing mold colonies behind the wallpaper courtesy of the eternally leaking roof. Over 20 ceiling tiles are stained like a crime scene and if you’re hoping for a hot shower afterward, think again. The hot water hasn’t worked in 2 weeks. On a positive note, ICON gym is opening up less than 5 mins away.

My experience at this LA Fitness location was deeply disappointing and, frankly, shocking compared to the standards one would expect from such a well-known fitness chain. This gym is in a state of serious disrepair and neglect.
The overall environment is the first red flag. The space feels less like a modern gym and more like a crowded warehouse. A vast number of machines are crammed together, making it difficult to navigate and find a comfortable workout area. Looking up, the ceiling is a map of neglect, with widespread water stains and several sections of the false ceiling completely open or missing.
The most significant issue is the condition of the equipment itself. Many of the machines look like they have been poorly maintained for years. I observed significant rust on metal frames, layers of ingrained dirt and sweat on surfaces, and upholstery that was cracked and worn. It gives the impression that the equipment is secondhand and not up to any reasonable standard of hygiene or quality.
To make matters worse, on the day of my visit, there was no running water in the facility. A gym without access to water for members is unacceptable for both convenience and basic sanitation.
Unfortunately, nothing about my visit to this location was positive. The combination of a dilapidated facility, poorly maintained equipment, and a lack of basic amenities left me with no desire to ever return. Prospective members should be aware that this particular gym does not reflect the brand's image and falls far short of a clean, motivating, or professional workout environment.

In the last six months this gym has really started to go down hill. When it rains there are many leaks throughout the building, had a ceiling tile fall in the cycle room while I was cycling with a friend, equipment breaks and it takes forever for it to be fixed. Looks like there is mold growing on the back wall where the mural is falling off the wall. It’s pretty disappointing this is the best that the middle of Cumming has to offer.

got membership of LA Fitness in Cumming GA almost 2 years ago. After 4 months I desire to cancel membership. But it wasn't so easy. So I call them and request to cancel. They said, they will do it but after 2 months I realized that they still charging me $10 pr month. And they said that I need to come and cancel it with them. So, I did it. But after 2 years I realized that every month they still charging me $10 each month. Some month was even plus $49 , another month was additional $10 and $5. So, I call them and ask them what's going on. They said that nobody cancel it but they got record about my requesting canceling on that time 2 years ago. So now they canceled by the phone call but I can't take back my money and it is looks like scam for me.

This is the fitness class that has the least teachers. I signed up because there was Zumba, but they removed it for about two or three months. Now they removed it and removed more things. Now they only have Body Works Plus on Mondays and Saturdays. On Saturdays they have yoga. On Mondays they only have Total Body. Other days they don't have any teachers.

This gym has gotten worse over the last 6 months. They had a major water leak in roof. Got the walls soaked. Now black mold and mold covers the wall and wallpaper is pealing off. This has been 6 months of breathing and inhaling mold. Mentioned it to manager over 3 months ago and was told should be resolved any day. Well that was 3 months ago and still nothing. I mentioned it again and was told they have no idea. It’s as if they don’t care.

There are 3 of us that have joined One Life and it is do much cleaner and well maintained. It’s a shame because mold can be a health/safety issue but staff just seems to turn a blind eye to it. I bet if someone gets sick and sues it would be fixed.

The weighted row machine has been down for 2+ months, and the only hip abductor machine has been down for 1.5 months. Not only that, but the GM refused to take any responsibility and passed me over to his operations manager because "it's not his department." Poorly run and overpriced. Can we really complain? It’s an LA Fitness. The only reason they’re still in business is that it is easier to sign up than it is to cancel. It’s fine if you can go at an uncrowded hour but my last work out felt impossible to complete a super set without 4 teenagers standing in front of equipment for 30 minutes or moving away for 2 minutes to use a machine 10 yards away and returning to a body in the way preventing me from completing a timed SUPERSET. Id prefer paying $199 for Lifetime Fitness for a little more space, less crowds, and more privacy when the atmosphere gets dense with goof balls.

Did a 3 day pass to try it. Was considering switching from PF. As a long time gym goer, I've been to every brand name gym around, and this one was awful. Paper towels are always gone. Lockers are old and dirty, nobody cleans them. The bathrooms have bumblasted protein splattered all over the toilets quite often and nobody cleans. The equipment is old and shot. Ropes are frayed, rubber missing on handles on cable equipment.. just looks and feels like this gym hasn't been touched since 2007. Definitely nowhere near worth the price for membership. PF is always clean, equipment always works, and though I wish it had a sauna, I feel much better at PF or OneLife for the price. Maybe if this gym has some renovations, and the staff did more than sit on their phones and sell memberships, id give it another shot. Save your money, go anywhere else. Only positive was the other gym members being friendly and in phenomenal shape compared to other places. If you want inspiration or eye candy and that's all you care about, go here.

The sauna here is disgusting. I honestly do not belive its been clean since it was installed. The wood is soaked with old sweat and just smells like a sweaty b×××hole. I go to a gym over 30 minutes away. Excuse a sauna is a must. Too bad this trial didn't work out for me. It's right by home and i could have brought all my friends.

I’ve been to dozens of LA Fitness’ across the country. I’ve seen every type of layout and condition from this franchise. This particular location is an amongst the best I’ve visited. The staff here is outstanding. The entire structure is amongst the cleanest I’ve seen. This place is a joke. Had they out a sign at the front, patrons would have the option to go to another location. Or how about using the app to notify their members.

Update: Now they choose to turn off the air at night. When you walk in at 5am, it's already hot. If I wanted to do hot workouts, I would join Hotworks.

Visited the gym for a tour today. Was met by one obnoxious gym instructor who was extremely pushy and made ridiculous jokes from the get go. He gave me a quick tour and I inquired about pricing. Then I thanked him and said I’ll return when I’ve decided to join and he became really pushy with adding stuff like ‘I think you’re ready to join today, is it about the money?’ I smiled and said I’ll decide on my own thanks. So he crumpled the paper he had written on and got up and left after saying pricing info is on the website.
Never joining this gym just because of how this guy behaved.

I have been coming here for a year and love it. The staff is very friendly. There is a ton of equipment and plenty of space. It’s rarely ever crowded and I get through my workout without waiting around on equipment. I recommend this gym to anyone who likes a clean and friendly atmosphere.

Gym has almost every machine you’d need, staff is friendly but man, bathrooms are always, always gross. Locker room, same thing. Lockers have hair and dirt in almost all of them and they never get wiped down. Everything inside the men’s restroom has been dirty every single time, would be five star if cleaner, way cleaner.

old equipment, maintenance not done on time, I went today to this place and i paid for two months, i regret have done this, I got a stomach emergency and the toilet were dirty even worse than a public bathroom, no paper toilet the dirtiest gym I've visited

Too often it has happened that no one shows up to open the facility on time. Customers wait up to an hour or more and have to leave. If you have no coverage, you should update your hours on line to inform your customers. It is 6am now and the place is closed.

I’ve worked out in many gyms over my 13 years of lifting. This gym is the best I’ve used up to this point. Good variety of equipment and machines. Plenty of dumbbells and free weights. Staff is nice, usually greeting you with a “What’s up” or “Good morning”. That goes a long way with the sense of community. Clean and open as well.
Definitely recommend even though the price is pretty high. I will say I’ve payed $10-$15 less for bigger spaces. But overall a great place.

I visited this LA from out of state. I dealt with Ashley upon walking in and she was MORE than accommodating, making me feel like a true guest. This gym is super clean, very open and spacious, and the members are very motivating and friendly. As an outsider I felt comfortable and was very happy with my experience.
