Sincerely, the place is very dirty, they really need to change that old rug, smells and it’s been there probably for minimum 10 years+. Showers have flies and even found a worm 🪱 which made me think, is this what a parasite looks like? 🤔 Conclusion, this place need remodeling and newer version machines, running/elliptical and others are very old fashioned… Clients deserve better than this.

Definitely one of the worst gyms I’ve been to, and definitely the WORST La Fitness I’ve been to. I’ve been to gyms in lower income areas better maintained than this one. Front desk staff never really do anything. It’s unfortunate considering how the cleaning equipment is never stocked and they’re are never any wipes or paper towels to clean or wipe your hands. One time I needed help with my locker and it took someone over 30 mins to come and assist me, which is ridiculous.
I would never step foot in Esther pool and jacuzzi because they are disgusting and unmaintained. And don’t let a machine be broken, because it will take 3-6 months months for it to be repaired. And this has been the case since I got my membership 4 years ago… the only reason I still had one is because I get a discount through my insurance and it’s the closest gym to me. But it’s gotten to the point where I will drive an extra 10 minutes and pay regular price for Crunch Fitness. I’ve had a way better experience there. The value for this gym is definitely not worth and it’s a shame considering there are way better gyms for cheaper so I don’t see ANY reason why anyone would go here unless there are no other gyms you’re willing to drive to.

I visited this franchise as a guest with my friend, and I was highly satisfied. The staff at the front desk were so welcoming, and the check in process was very straight forward. The equipment was clean and there were no wait times for the machines. A great musical selection was playing as we worked out. I ran into the operations manager Camron as he was doing his rounds, a very stand up guy. He was professional, nice, and even convinced me to sign up for a membership. Good customer service. I vsited this place a few weeks ago while I was in town on a business trip. I needed to get my steps in and decided I’ll try this place out. I read the reviews before I came and people around me said I could potentially meet celebrities there. So I was like oh yeah I’m going!!! Long story short, when I walked in the facility was clean and you can smell the cleanliness in the air as if someone just finished cleaning. I was greeted by a tall, brown skinned, bearded, sexy man, and he was so professional and spoke very well may I add. He made sure I found everything ok. He walked around the gym checking on his customers. He was very alert and showed good sportsmanship towards his coworkers. I asked him what’s his name I think he said Cameron or Cameron but he said you can call me Cam for short. I started blushing. I wanted to call him daddy but I knew I was doing too much and was going too far lol. But great dude with great manners!

I’ve been working out at LA Fitness in Georgia for 23 years — from the Snellville, Conyers, and Lawrenceville locations — and I have never had the kind of negative experience I had in just two days at the Church Street location.

At this gym, the culture is completely different. The personal trainers are extremely territorial over the equipment. I literally asked to use a ball and was screamed at like I was crazy. There’s no sense of community here at all. It feels like every person for themselves — just come in, work out, and get out — and the staff reinforces that same energy.

As a Black member, I felt like I was being treated poorly simply for being who I am. That’s not something I’ve ever felt at other LA Fitness locations. The only bright spot has been one staff member, a kind and polite woman who wears a black head wrap. She always greets me warmly, but outside of her, the culture here is very unwelcoming.

I switched to this location hoping for the same sense of community and respect I’ve experienced at other gyms, but this place has been nothing short of disappointing. Very disgusting behavior. Very disgusting culture

When I first started at this gym it was fantastic, YEARS ago…it was Awesome helpful staff, great and clean environment. However, unfortunately,this is no longer the case at this location. I got to enjoy this location today, while the toco hills location struggles with multiple pool equipment issues. This is a relatively newer location near the Emory Decatur hospital.
The staff was on site at opening time, which is not a given in my experience. The locker room is newer and cleaner than many others.
The pool area is also clean, although the water fountain was closed due to maintenance. The pool is a three lane pool with wide lanes, so sharing lanes is comfortable. The hot tub is average size and clean. The official swimsuit required sign is great and should be required at all clubs, since many people think it's OK to jump in the pool or hot tub in their underwear or shorts. The temperature of both the hot tub and pool made for a less than perfect visit. The hot tub showed a temperature just over 100 while the pool was set at 85. Definitely, not the most pleasant swim or soak.
Relative to many other locations, this one gets 4 stars.

This is of the most purely unprofessional facility I ever experienced. They charged me a monthly fee that I paid for in advance and refused my entry after payment was made. They even had the audacity to call the police on me to have me escorted out of the facility. What kind of sense does that make?? The operations manager is totally incompetent! I have been a member of LA Fitness for over a decade. I have always enjoyed taking Zumba classes. For the last 7 years, I have had the great fortune to take classes from Ramirez (Kel D.) on the class schedule. He is such a talented Zumba instructor & always shows up with a smile, good word, lots of energy, & FUN music. He changes up the songs so you never get tired of a routine. I greatly appreciate his attitude. He is a true asset to the overall feel & experience at LA Fitness. I'm so glad they have him on staff. I have more recently lost over 35 pounds. I KNOW that working out in Zumba, with Kel D. has helped me achieve this. I'm beyond grateful.

And I'm always greeted by kind people at the front desk & other staff I come in contact with. Most recently, I came in contact with a woman who was cleaning the workout room. She was extremely kind & warm. Her kindness & joy were infectious. I'm smiling even now thinking about our interaction. It's so nice to have many LA Fitness locations to choose from, & I LOVE having a constant, in Ramirez's classes.

It’s a good place to workout when it’s clean and well-stocked on essentials. Friendly staff and spacious. Only con is oftentimes it doesn’t open on time. For people on the go, timeliness is a must. No one should have to wait outside 30+ minutes after opening time in order to workout. I’m literally watching a full parking lot of eagerly awaiting fitness enthusiasts drive away because someone failed to show up today. I signed up for a 3-day guest pass online and was called by someone to setup an appointment. I was told that the appointment would make the process smoother and set one up for 11:30am on Saturday. When I arrived at the appointment, I told the front desk person that I had an appointment for 11:30am. She looked at me confused as if no one has ever come to the front desk for an appointment. She then looked around, asked about my appointment time again and directed me to Ana (spelling?) after clicking on the computer for a few seconds.

When I got to Ana she was on her phone helping another customer with something and was not ready to greet us. She was not aware of an appointment, and even though she did give us a tour, was not prepared to do so because she was busy.

This was my second time coming to this location I had a guest pass from my cousin and it seemed like a great location the front desk person Dee was so warm and welcoming she sent me to Kayla and she gave me a detailed tour of the gym and it was a great experience with her, until I went in today and I had a conversation with the under qualified GM that was passive aggressive trying make a sale I asked for Kayla and he continued to try to dismiss me. Personally, I dislike spending time writing reviews, and it’s not something I usually do. However, I had a bad experience asking for help at this LA Fitness location. The lady at the front desk appeared unprofessional. Long story short, I asked her how to register with LA Fitness. She was kind enough to take me to the computer desk, but her behavior was unprofessional and unfriendly. When I asked her to guide me through the registration process since I was new to this location, she told me she couldn’t help me all the way through. I repeatedly asked, “Are you a staff member working here?” She replied, “Yes, I am.” I thought she was hired to greet customers and assist them when needed, but I didn’t receive any real help. I was unable to register or even use the gym that day, and I was extremely disappointed with the service. I hope my next visit will be met with better customer service.

It’s an aggressively fine gym that feels like it’s on the brink of being sold.
The decor is peak 2006, the machines are generally in ok shape, but finding sanitizing wipes is often a struggle. Management removed the childcare options last year and hasn’t communicated reinstatement or changed pricing to reflect changes to standard offerings.
I haven’t participated in classes or personal training as those aren’t my preferred medium but the instructors seem to be fantastic if the class occupancy is any indication.

LA fitness is already not a great gym and this one now opens at 8am closes at 6pm on the weekends. So try not to be poor and have to work those days ig. It's already really hard to find an ok gym in Atlanta for under $100 a month so this change isn't great.
