It is unfortunate that people are do selfish that they have stolen the weights from the gym for their own selfish use but the gym needs to replace them for those that still pay. I suggested cameras years ago and that would have prevented this. Very frustrating to constantly have to work around missing weights. Do better people or just buy your own.

The sauna in the men's locker room is still down. It's going on two months and no firm timeline on it....may be leaving you guys for another because this doesn't make sense. The most used feature is down....come on man. That's two star behavior. Pay too much for 2 star gym use.

Been going to this LA for over 10 years and its hands down the worst ran LA Fitness that I have ever been to. Sauna burned down in February and wasn't fixed or repaired until end of May. Takes them months to repair other equipment as well. On top of that they continually fail fire inspections and will randomly close for days on end. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

This location in the past few months has been temporarily shut down by the fire marshal multiple times for safety issues. Broken equipment, missing dumbbells, haven’t seen the 40lb EZ curl barbell in a year, lack of cleanliness, no dry paper towels or sanitizer wipes to use on equipment. I been a member for years lately this gym is going down the 40 lb curl bar been missing for months and has not replaced the sauna been down over a month it caught a fire after it closed that's their fault they should check when closed to make sure it's turned off. This gym has potential, but to be honest, it’s the worst LAF I’ve ever been to. It’s the darkest gym I’ve seen—every other LAF is bright and beautiful. It’s also quite dirty. I’m there four times a week, and I never see staff cleaning. Ever. The sauna has been out of order for over a month, and most of the treadmills barely work. The amount of equipment is very minimal—the least I’ve seen at any LAF I’ve visited. Now the fire marshalls made them temporarily shut down. I really hope they get it together because it’s in a great area and could be a huge benefit to Douglasville residents.

There’s no regular maintenance for the pool, hot bath, and sauna. Despite mentioning the pool temperature being too low several times, they haven't taken any action. Never feel more disrespected at any place more than this location where people think they own the Gym and if you are not a specific race and bulk like them you don’t need to be there or have any rights.
One by one they came up at me because of someone using multiple machines even that I wait to see if anyone was there. After not going to this gym for a month (Douglasville location), I went to have one last workout there and quit that gym yesterday but Michael, an amazing employee and human saved the day. He made what can feel like a weird, oppressive vibe seem different and pleasant. It was so nice to interact with him that I’ve decided to give it another chance and just hope it goes well.

I will say the Douglasville location has improvements to make but is the best gym overall that I have found in its price-range without a contract that I have found.

The cons:
I found the fact that they lock up their kettlebells, making them largely unavailable to general population a bit off-putting. They gave me the reason that people have stolen them so it’s precautionary. I was a member of several gyms in LA as well as Las Vegas and generally find a gym whenever I travel. Never have I seen such a sketchy-feeling practice. A simple equipment sign-out process with coveted items being kept up front could make this issue seem a lot less…seedy.

Far more off-putting than not having access to the kb’s was the customer service surrounding the issue. First time I asked for access, the one guy who had the key said he was eating lunch (seated in the sales area) and when I asked if that meant they were unavailable or if someone else might help me, he said matter-of-factly, “unavailable” and offered nothing else. The vibe was so palpably weird that I felt the most reasonable response was not to further engage. Two other employees were sitting with him and seem to co-sign that mentality by saying nothing so I had to assume this is an acceptable level of customer service in this gym.

The 2nd occasion I asked, someone had to be phoned to figure out how to grant access. The front desk person said she’d find me when she had an answer. She never did during the remaining hour I was there. I took the kb out of my workouts.

Restrooms are ok though mirrors always have that dirty looking squeegee smear and unlike other gyms I’ve gone to where there’s enough separation, the stalls are located inside the shower area so there is a level of steam/humidity in the toilet area. Something about that feels kind of yucky if you’re not showering.

Other reasons (besides Michael) for thumbs up:
Equipment areas seem clean and organized. Also there’s another guy who is at front desk sometimes…don’t remember his name but part of mgmt I think…he’s helpful as well, my little one seemed to enjoy kids club the one time he attended, equipment is in good shape, clientele is courteous and non-judgmental, I’ve never been when it was overcrowded and I’ve attended at random hours of the day. Hope this helps.

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. I called to cancel my membership FOUR months ago where I was told it would be cancelled. Then I am charged for 3 months of membership dues in one day after being cancelled for FOUR MONTHS. Then, I call their corporate office where they are extremely rude and condescending towards me for wanting answers. By far favorite gym in this area. I've always been a member of LA, but I've enjoyed this location the most. Always clean and upgrading\improving equipment.

The only thing that sucks about this place (and not even the gym itself) is the CROWDS and not just crowds, the crowds that will literally SIT and hog equipment for 10 minutes. The best times are 11-4pm, the WORST time is literally anything after, lol

Don't bother trying to wait and alternate because any other part of your workout will also be delayed by the crowd. So it's either you go home in defeat or you wait and watch like Batman watching a thug and swoopin in tryna get justice for Gothm City.

I also do like that in the (mirror room? Dance room?) They allow different types of workouts when there is no class. It's a first come, first serve kinda thing, but people are more considerate in there and make space for others. I've seen dancing and just recently saw roller skating (which is what I've been wanting to do, so I was super excited to see that).

I love my gym, every staff is always so courteous and helpful. One night I was in a negative mood and I saw a guy with a sweat suit on the bike dripping a puddle around the floor then he left; I thought to myself cynically 'i bet no one's even going to clean that up and I stretch on these floors'. A few minutes later a nice woman came making rounds, saw it and immediately got the mop bucket and sanitized the area. I felt so embarrassed for my negativity and so impressed by the place.

The only issue I've seen cause actual various difficult situations for people is they can't hear the announcements in the pool area. I think the staff thinks we can. When I first started I forgot the gym closed at 8 on Saturday, and no one waved at me in the spa or gave any sign. They wound up turning off the lights exactly at 8 and I was still in the shower area 😂😂 I was yelling helllooooo and trying to feel for my things and feel my way along the wall to get out 🤣

Scam Artist: LA fitness goes out of their way to not let you cancel your membership. The company lack’s business ethics.

1. If you call to cancel, they will say you have to do it in person.
2. If you come in person, they will say the person who executes cancelations is not available but we will send you confirmation email of your cancellation.

The confirmation email will never come and you will be given the “run around” if you show back up in person.

One can call numerous times but it won’t change anything.

Call your credit card company to cancel.

Waited at the empty front desk for 2 minutes waiting for someone to help me pull up my membership barcode on the app. When I proceeded to walk towards an associate sitting at a desk, a manager (I assume) came around the corner asking “can I help you” in a rude tone. I used to frequent this location a lot but now I’m considering making the drive to Cobb Parkway.

I joined today and the first thing I noticed was the pleasant smell of the place, it wasn't overcrowded or noisy. The staff was friendly and helpful and I'll definitely be going back soon.

I have a membership here, and I was trying to get my wife signed up, but the guy behind the counter would rather whisper on the phone with some girl he was after than pay attention to anyone trying to give this establishment money. In total there were two people at the front of the gym on personal calls.

Good place if you like working out and playing ball the hoop sessions are charted to 10am-3pm and the dead time is 3-5pm but at 6pm till close it’s where the hoopers come in daily so 10/10 some days 7/10 but that’s per usual, good workout area nice sauna and bathroom good place.
