I strongly advise against joining this facility due to severe security lapses and shockingly poor customer service.
My $200 winter jacket was stolen from the premises this week. When I reported the theft and requested that security footage be reviewed, a manager immediately refused to investigate. Their reason was that they considered my personal property "not valuable" enough to justify the time.
This dismissal is insulting and demonstrates profound negligence. The management clearly prioritizes avoiding administrative work over member safety and accountability. If they don't care about a $200 theft, they clearly don't care about you or your belongings.

I’ve been a member for 15 years straight- Jeff, the manager of this location, makes this the best LA Fitness in the greater Atlanta area. The staff is absolutely awesome! The manager, Skip, really knows how to communicate with the members and is very knowledgeable about the gym. It’s also the cleanest I have seen it in a long time. The only issue, I have noticed is that the gym is quite dim due to many blown light bulbs, and the carpet looks very dirty. I am hopeful one day the carpet will be replaced with a different type of flooring and the bulbs will be replaced soon. I would have given 5 stars, but there are 2 issues providing a better score.

Whole ever wrote the reviews below is maliciously targeting Management. And I feel the need to speak up.
I’ve been coming here a solid 1–2 years, and let me just say — people love to twist things when they can’t handle accountability. The guy they’re talking about, Skip? He’s not rude. He’s just the only one who actually cares enough to call things out and make sure this place runs right. Some folks take that as “bossy,” but the truth is, without people like him, gyms fall apart. He’s direct, yeah — but that’s why things stay organized, equipment stays working, and the energy stays real.

If you want someone to pat you on the back for showing up late or not doing your part, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you like a gym with standards, structure, and someone who genuinely keeps it together — Skip’s the reason it works. Not everyone can handle that, but the ones who get it, stay.
I watched this guy hug a crying member in the middle of the gym.

Decided to try this location out since I was in the area, and I couldn’t have had worse customer service from a man named Skip. Had a TERRIBLE attitude the entire time and talked to me like I was stupid during our whole encounter. I have never encountered anything like this prior. As a long term regular at this gym i have noticed changes lately. Machines are broken at an alarming rate and the cleanliness is abysmal. There are never paper towels anywhere in the gym including the restrooms and the wipes to clean the benches are ALWAYS empty. Ever since the new manager, Skip showed up the overall vibe of this location had been at an all time low. When i asked Skip for help with something he just looked at me like i was stupid and did nothing. I now will travel more than 3x as far from my home to visit the Sugarloaf location rather than this one.

I have been going to La fitness for over 15 years and this is by far the worst location. While the staff is friendly, the bathrooms are disgusting and never fully stocked. The equipment doesn’t always work, and they started this new thing where they will block off a section of the gym and only allow people with paid personal training sessions enter and that’s where a lot of the free weight equipment is located. So I have to paid extra to use the equipment now? I hate that this location is the closest to my house because if I could I would never go back.

So the basketball court at this gym was shut down for 3 months due to an incident (which from my understanding didn't happen ON the court).

But because of that, they closed the court as a way of penalizing EVERYBODY that uses the court; meaning those who had nothing to do with that incident could no longer use the court!

That makes absolutely no sense and quite frankly it's quite discriminatory. Why would you close just the basketball court and not the weight room or the sauna???

That said, they opened the basketball courts recently to a entirely new and ridiculous court schedule.

Basketball is only available M-Thr now. And Friday and Saturday is for Pickleball??? Really??? Pickleball??? Who requested to add pickleball to the schedule???

In fact, I just left from this LA Fitness to see if anybody was using the court and NOBODY was in there. Yet it's reserved for pickleball! What a waste!!

As a result of the ridiculousness and unjust targeting of their decisions. People like myself now have to drive an additional 25 or 30 minutes away just to visit another basketball court.

This has me considering canceling my membership all together and joining another gym because these decisions feel more racially driven almost as if it's a form of gentrifying its patrons.

Closed down the whole basketball court for 3 months, for an incident that happened outside the parking lot. However, for some reason did not close down the rest of the gym and has it up and running. They are constantly trying to get rid of the basketball coward. They have now posted up a new schedule for the basketball court which does not make sense as most of the players that use that gym come after 5. This gym needs to be looked at by corporate. This was my first time visiting this location, which is supposed to be open until 10:00 PM. However, at 9:35 PM, while I was in the women's locker room using the sauna, two male employees entered the area.
I find this highly inappropriate and disrespectful, especially considering that there were women changing and showering at the time. Regardless of closing procedures, there should be clear respect for the privacy and safety of female members.
I hope management takes this seriously and implements better protocols to prevent this from happening again

Truly one of my favorite locations in Gwinnett! The staff here is genuinely so inviting and kind from management to custodial staff. Although they all try their best, I’ve witnessed a lot of problems certainly fall on a select few members that tend to ruin things for the rest of us like lack of gym etiquette, cleanliness, returning equipment, etc. Adults should be able to hold themselves accountable with out playing the blame game towards other members or pointing fingers at those that work there. I am writing to formally report a deeply upsetting incident that occurred during my recent visit to your facility in 1625 Pleasant Hill Rd, #245 today August 4 2025 at 6:15am
A employee confronted me in an aggressive and disrespectful manner, accusing me of having a pending balance on my account.
Despite the fact that my LA Fitness app clearly shows that I am allowed access to the gym, this individual publicly humiliated me, refused to let me enter and telling me will call ICE enforcement because I am hispanic I ask him his name and he refuse to give me his name he didn't have his TAG NAME so I take a picture of him and he caused a scene in front of other members this individual appeared to be under the influence of somenthing , as there was a strong smell of weed coming from him.
In addition to this, the employee was extremely rude and made comments and displayed behavior that I found to be racially insensitive and discriminatory

This is deeply concerning to me as a paying member who comes to the gym to focus on my health and well-being.
LA Fitness is supposed to be a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment, and experiences like this make it feel quite the opposite.
It is very unacceptable for anyone especially an employe to behave in this manner and lack customer services skill
I believe a thorough review of your employee conduct policies, including random drug testing, may be necessary.
It raises serious questions about the hiring and oversight practices currently in place at your facilities.
I hope LA Fitness takes this complaint seriously and takes swift action to ensure that all members feel safe, respected, and valued.
When I attempted to document the situation by taking a photo, the employee began yelling even louder and told me I would “never come back” to the gym.
His behavior was not only unprofessional but also appeared racially motivated, which is extremely disturbing. I have never experienced this kind of treatment in any gym before, and I am shocked and disappointed that someone representing LA Fitness would act in such a way.
This experience was embarrassing, degrading, and unacceptable.
I feel completely disrespected and unsafe returning to this location. Given the employee’s rude, racist, and unprofessional behavior,
I no longer wish to be affiliated with your organization.
Additionally, I plan to file a complaint with your corporate office and leave a public review about this incident, as it is important that other potential members are aware of the kind of treatment in this specific location that can occur at your facilities.

The management and staff are very ill informed at this location. I attempted to freeze my kids klub membership in person today and was told even if I freeze it I still have to pay $10 (which is the cost of kids klub membership). I called a different location and they did it over the phone for me at no “pro rate “ cost. The pleasant hill location has made me upset in many occasions- I am trying my best to come here with the most positive attitude to workout and get myself in better shape- hard to do when you come into a place you feel like you’re not valued.

Very disappointed and embarrassed ! I had my headphones on listening to music . I got under dressed . Since I heard music I did not hear the announcement of men coming in to clean the locker room . I’ve never been to the gym where this is ok . I sat bare bottom on the bench ( disgusting) and had to grab my towel the cover myself and then my dirty shirt to cover . I waited for a few minutes thinking they would leave but they were going to clean the whole locker room I had to put back on my dirty gym clothes . I went to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager and he said it hard to find female staff which is understandable but I said why don’t they put a sign or shut down for ten minutes while they clean they said they can not and I said that is unacceptable . I asked to cancel my membership but he said I have to come at 9-5 in person. This is highly disappointing and disgraceful. I was shocked and very upset that a man saw my in the locker room . I don’t know if he saw my vagina or butt but he saw me for sure with no shirt on . I tried my best to cover as fast as possible . If this is how LA fitness runs there facilities I will not be a member . Truly disgusting experience

The personal training has inconsistent
scheduling and no guided plan or metrics to track progress; the personal training service is mediocre and not following best practices to give exercises in advance of training to avoid wasting time learning them. When a trainer is no show there is nothing done to overcome that with a back up trainer; I have been 3weeks without training due to these issues. To get the value for money spent in training I need a baseline, training program exercises and metrics to track progress all lacking in my personal training program at LA. Fitness.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this gym. Cleanliness appears to be a low priority. It’s not just about the number of people—it’s the behavior and hygiene of some members that make the environment uncomfortable and uninviting. Basic respect for shared equipment and personal space is often lacking, and management doesn’t seem to enforce standards that would improve the experience. The locker rooms are another major issue—floors are constantly wet and slippery, making them feel unhygienic and even unsafe at times. At least in the women's area, women come in and out of the shower and/or pool area and do not properly dry themselves. Then they sit all over the benches with their wet, naked bodies. It’s just not the kind of atmosphere I want to work out in. It's disgusting, tbh.

LA Fitness at this location is decent but not the best. The gym can get very busy in the evening, and the equipment isn’t as new as in other locations. This gym is ridiculously hot, I asked them if they were aware how warm it was and even told me other people had complained for the same reason. They said “they don’t have control over the heat”
I brought a mini home thermometer just out of curiosity, the heat was pumping through that place at 76 F. Impossible to exercise without feeling like you’re going to pass out.
They seem to run out of cleaning supplies every week and it doesn’t get restocked for days.
It’s really unsanitary not being able to wipe down the equipment before and after uses.
Not to mention the women’s bathroom soap runs out and takes days for it to finally get refilled. I am there nearly every day and it seems like this is normal there.

UPDATE: I cancelled my membership. It was not worth the price for how poorly managed this place is.
You’re better off joining a different gym.

It is 820 a.m and the gymbstill isn't open. Why can't this location ever open on time consistently on the weekends. Someone needs to be let go.

This is the 4th time I've seen the gym not open on time on the weekend in the past 6 months. How is this acceptable?  Is the how you treat your patrons after they have paid their hard earned money? Is anyone going to do something about these on going problems?

She had the other gentleman working lock the doors. This woman was absolutely rude after her own failure. Sitting at the front counter with a hoodie over head with headphones on. Completely unprofessional.

Good machines but L.A. fitness customers have zero gym etiquette. Hardly anyone wipes down the machines and 6 out of 10 times there aren't any wipes anyway. People will take 3 or 4 sets of dumbells even during busy hours. I get doing that when it's not busy, but it's constant. Furthermore, people don't put weights back, which is annoying. They will leave 10 plates on the leg press and walk away. I see dumbells all over the gym. Why the staff never bothers to make rounds even once an hour to put stuff back is beyond me. I see energy drinks cans left by the machines or dumbells and the disgusting part is the exact same cans will be there the very next day, which makes me wonder how often they clean the gym!

YMCA has less machines and less weights, yet even with the same amount of people, there is more availability of weights. Not to mention the Y has a good deal of fitness classes and LA Fitness hardly has any. I only joined LA Fitness bc there are 2 close to my house, they have more machines, and it's cheaper but it's certainly not better. The cleanliness of every LA Fitness I go to is subpar compared to the Y. May have to just pay the extra money and go back to the Y. Front desk is sometimes friendly and will greet you and other times they don't acknowledge you and just play on their phones IF there is even someone there. Seriously, how can a gym be so gross as to not have wipes to wipe down machines, especially after COVID?!

Im a customer for more than 5 years at a deferent location but no problem till today there is a a guy that was working there , he did not let me shower because he said it’s time to go home ,I’m not a kid to talk to me like that I’m a client and you should learn how to talk nice to people . Been coming here for years, first time someone has ever broken into my locker. Stole my credit card and tried to use it to buy 185$ worth of stuff at the Walgreens across the street LMAO broke people will do anything these days, going through people’s sweaty disgusting gym bags is just so abysmally pathetic. Of course I told the workers at the front offices to be aware someone is breaking into lockers in the men’s room, not like they can go through the cameras because it’s illegal to have them in the actual locker room but beware!

Went in to take a look at the club, but I was not impressed at all with the lack of cleanliness. It wasn't like it was late in the day after a long day of people working out. It was about 8:30am on a Saturday. I'll probably join because it's close and meets my training needs, but management needs to raise their standards a whole lot when it comes to upkeep and cleanliness. This is an easy fix, but we'll have to see if they rise to the occasion.

Sauna is haven't been working for a while. You make a complain and always something i don't know, the tech is coming etc. Besides the weight never on the spot. This is a very busy location and should do better

This gym needs work! Sauna is ALWAYS BROKEN. Not enough bars for all the benches. Doesn’t always open on time. Thank God for the sweet lady who is there to pick up the slack when workers don’t show up on time. Snellville location is much better! I hate that this is the closest location to me‼️

Potentially the worst LA Fitness I’ve ever been to. There’s a sales manager I believe husky fellow that wears glasses who tried to take my money under the table. I had heard of these kinds of practices by sales managers in the past to old folk like myself. Also English is my second language. Seems very inappropriate that and the overall cleanliness is dastardly bad. The people at the front desk were great however.

This gym is 10 from my home but I travel to a different location 20 mins away. The sauna in the lady locker room has been down off and on for over 3 months. The sauna feature was my main reason for not joining Planet Fitness. There’s always a wait for equipment as people are spending 30+ mins on equipment, scrolling through their phones and talking with friends. Staff does nothing about it when reported. Bathrooms are smelly and dirty. The Tucker location is much better, but I’m thinking of canceling membership for a different gym

My first and last experience with LA Fitness. Came in to request a day pass. My primary gym was closed for renovations. They said they don’t do free day passes. It’s $20 for a day pass. Once I paid and was granted access, there was a table FULL of free day passes just past the front desk. Oh the betrayal! These people lied to me and took advantage of me. When I tried to inquire about this dishonesty, I was ignored!
Additionally, this gym was very nasty. Equipment is dirty and outdated. Nothing in its place. Locker room and restroom was absolutely filthy and the entire place smells very bad like mold and poop.

I have been member in this location since two year due to my mom health condition, doctor recommend to do spa in hot water. I have been paying $65 for two person every month. As my experience, most of the time they close the hot water and they don't clean pool always. There was a lots of sand in the pool and lots of people complain after 3 month they clean but shower place always looks dirty. In winter they close hot water and said that under maintenance, I have complain everyone but they don't care about anything
