I have a few questions for LA Fitness Mcdonough and Morrow:

WHAT is GOING ON with the CLASSES!
WHAT is going on with the BASICS!

Where are the early morning cycling classes?
Where are the different instructors?
Where are the batteries for the hand sanitizer dispensers?
Where are the basic dispenser so they ALWAYS work?
Where are the paper towels and toilet paper in each stall?

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. While I was using the sauna, a staff member came in and sprayed Fabuloso cleaner all over the benches and walls without wiping it down. I appreciate that the staff member warned me before spraying Fabuloso cleaner in the sauna, but I still feel this could be handled better for member safety. Spraying strong cleaners in an enclosed, heated space (even with a warning) makes it uncomfortable and unsafe to stay in.

Cleaning should absolutely be done, but it would be much safer and more respectful to wait until the sauna is empty before spraying chemical cleaners in an enclosed, high-heat space. I recommend scheduling sauna cleaning when it’s empty, using sauna-safe cleaning products, and wiping down surfaces to truly sanitize. Members deserve a safe, clean experience without breathing in chemicals.
Please make sure staff are trained to clean at appropriate times so members can use the sauna without breathing in harsh fumes.

The pool and the hot tub is out of service more days than it's of service. I was referred by my PCP (primary care physician) from Emory and Piedmont Henry, to join this gym for therapy purposes. The first month, for the entire month of my membership the the pool sensor was broken and the hot tub was out of service. Nothing works for a full two weeks straight, ever. Which has caused my whole purpose for joining this gym for aquatic therapy, ineffective. Yet and still $40.00 is drafted from bank account without compensation each month. I have been a member at this McDonough location for a year now. I'm going to cancel my membership and join the current ongoing lawsuit against them because they are indeed taking members money for services that are not rendered. I want all of my money back.
The services at this gym sucks and the customer service as well.

I enjoyed my workout, however, I HAVE TO GO TO THE GYM BEFORE WORK. Which means I MUST take a shower afterwards. The locker room is gross and the showers are incredibly disgusting, and slathered in mold and mildew. I have tried my best to grin and bear it, but I finally gave up when I caught a SKIN FUNGUS all over my entire body. My doctor told me to STOP going there. They need to shut that place DOWN!!!!

I am posting this after coming here for several years. I probably come for convenience and security. 2 stars because I can get a workout in. Staff is polite. Machines are dirty. Don’t go to this gym! I signed up for a three day pass and was hounded Everytime I came in. My pass expired and I get that every since months you get a new one which is fine but I just needed a day to take a shower due to being homeless sleeping in my car and when you look they tell a gym is a resource for that! This LA fitness is right on route 75 going north. The sign is bigger than the White House. I enjoyed the really nice hot tub and on a hot day it's really great to stop and take a shower. That makes travelling so much easier.

This gym is ALWAYS dirty. Even coming in at 5 am when it opens it’s dirty. There is always something on the floor, toilet paper, wipes, dirt, dust, stains, etc. the showers are moldy and nasty. The sauna floor is dirty and hasn’t been mopped in years. The bathrooms need to be updated, the toilet seats are not screwed on properly. And everything is so old looking which makes no sense considering how much we pay monthly.

The only thing I enjoy is sauna. They are always crowded, almost never have santitation wipes, women bathroom, nasty, and equipment sticky because there is nothing to wipe it down.

Disappointing Experience at LA Fitness

I’ve had a frustrating experience at LA Fitness and feel compelled to share it. The management here is incredibly poor; they close whenever they feel like it, and you only find out when you arrive. The schedule seems to change on a whim, which is really inconvenient for anyone trying to plan a workout.

The facility itself is in disarray. It’s dirty, and half of the lockers are out of order, which is really unprofessional. To make matters worse, the sauna has been out of service for a month and a half, and there’s clearly no maintenance being done on anything. Everything feels neglected and is literally falling apart.

I understand that running a business is tough, but if you want to stay in business, you need to show that you care. Unfortunately, it seems that LA Fitness doesn’t care at all, especially since people continue to come in despite the obvious issues. Unless they make some serious changes, I can’t recommend this gym to anyone.

Bed bugs? They have bugs and the training room has been unkempt for over a year. The manager is incompetent and delegates everything and impulsively responds without knowing what’s going on. Most of the team attitude reflects his horrible customer service skills with an attitude. All they’re focused on is new revenue, instead of keeping all people feeling welcomed. The classes like swimming, yoga, and Zumba are the only reason they got a two star.

I signed up for your complimentary three-day pass to determine if your gym would be a good fit for my son and me, primarily due to its proximity to our home.

We recently lost our 16-year-old son, and his younger brother is struggling. His therapist suggested that working out would be beneficial for his physical and mental health.

Upon our initial visit to the gym, the Asian gentleman seated at the front desk, unfortunately, displayed rude and disrespectful behavior. He engaged in unprofessional conduct by discussing us with his coworker while accessing my personal information. Furthermore, as I was exiting the gym, he made a scene by yelling at me from his desk all the way to the doors, stating, "Enjoy your three-day free pass." This behavior was completely uncalled for and did not reflect the professionalism and assistance we expected. Regrettably, there was no introduction or guidance provided on how to use the gym equipment.

I would appreciate your attention to this matter and hope that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure a more welcoming and supportive environment for all gym members.

This gym is the one located in McDonough GA on Foster Dr.

This has to be the worst smelling gym I have ever entered in my life. Upon entering the gym this morning at 930am the stench was nauseating. It smelled of old sweat, new sweat, flatulence, dead fish and body odors all at once. There needs to be a ventilation system upgrade or extreme deep cleaning. I concluded my business at the front desk and immediately exited the building. I only stayed in the building for 5-8 minutes and my clothes were reeking as if I hugged a 350lbs GA Black Bear. To be fair and to ensure I just didn’t have a sensitive nose, I drove to another massive gym across town that was just as packed and asked to just enter and have a look/smell. There was a smell of sweat but nothing as massive and offensive as LA Fitness in McDonough. When I got to the car I called Active & Fit and cancelled my membership. I know yall smell this gym. Please do better for someone else.

Everything was cool until the bald old man with no teeth felt like it was his place to tell me what to do after I get off a machine. I wanted to say that the young man Adrian, who has been cleaning the workout facility I noticed he was going above and beyond with cleaning out each individual locker in the men's locker room which has tremendously improved the air and smell in there. I have been going to this LA facility since 2007, and yes, they do a good job keeping the gym clean throughout the years. The locker room has always had a smell. I've been going to the LA fitness in Mcdonough for about 4 Yeats or so now. The staff is great with one major exception. They cannot keep them. Especially the ones responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities specifically the male locker room and sauna. The sauna has been filthy for about a year. I've asked management to clean it several times to no avail. After a week of this they finally took the hazardous decrepit wooden prote tive railing from around the sauna heater. It was literally falling apart for about 8 months with exposed nails and screws that couldve easily punctured a patron. The tile floors are covered with trash, grime, and human bodily fluids. The light also has not been working in the sauna for a couple of years. IIm beginning to wonder if they care.

The McDonough, GA location seems to be understaffed in the area of housekeeping/Maintenance. Starting with the Parking lot 99 % of the time it is full of trash and debris.
Most of the time there's dust build-up between and underneath the equipment.
Suggestions: Buy tools to fit between and underneath equipment. Schedule cleaning crew to start before opening, throughout the day, and Closing.
Management should pay attention to the most used equipment that has a bottleneck during peak hours. (EXAMPLE: THIS GYM needs more than 1 Smith Machine. Also, bring in an updated T-Bar Row Platform.

I joined LA Fitness September of 2022. I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, it is not managed properly. The bathrooms are always filthy. The locks on the bathroom doors are unable to lock securely. The Zumba room had a small leak that turned into a tsunami and has been closed for the last 3 months. Zumba is now being offered in the basketball gym, which is very inconvenient because there are no mirrors and sounds system. Just a total mess, I am highly disappointed

I have been a member of L.A Fitness (in McDonough) for some time now. And I love to see that people are on their health journey. My likes and dislikes: (Likes) The remodeling created more space, and there’s always somewhere to work out! (Dislikes)I think that the cleaning process should be done at an appropriate time and not while someone is working out. The cleaning chemicals affect me a lot when they come clean right in front of me while I am working out. The hospitality is a toss-up for the most part. Sometimes, you feel good because the atmosphere is good and the staff is friendly, and sometimes you feel like they are talking about you. Overall, I want to be treated with respect, as that is what I pay for! We as humans need to express more love for each other and not project our opinion if it’s on a low vibration. When paying for something, you want to feel good about the experience, not question yourself about the experience. I pay to come to work out, all the other stuff, please leave home.

After being scammed and deceived by the Morrow location for a training contract and membership fee, I went to the Mcdonough location to get everything cancelled and sorted out because I knew the staff at the Morrow location were not honestly trying to help me. I was informed at the Morrow location that I may or may not get my money back and that they had to contact all these other people in order to do so and that it would take several days to fix (lies, they were trying to make me go past the 7 day cancellation mark because I just signed up). I explained my situation to the managers at the Mcdonough location and not only did they welcome me and immediately reimburse me everything I was charged, but they also took the time to apologize on the behalf of all LA Fitnesses because of how I had been treated even though they personally were not at fault. The managers Nekita and Sid were beyond helpful and so sweet to me. I never had a gym membership before and they gave me a completely different experience compared to the other location. They broke down everything to me so that I would understand and know how to move forward. They made me feel like family as we tried to sort out the issues. This location will now be my home gym and I will keep coming back because this location prides itself on honesty and genuinely tries to help the customer. They don’t do all that fast talking to trick you into sales and trap you in contracts that you can’t afford. I love them for that❤️❤️❤️.

This gym has a great staff and friendly atmosphere. I love the sauna as well. It’s the perfect finish to a hard workout.

I will never be returning to this establishment AGAIN. I was berated by two employees while I was trying to fill up my water bottle. The one with the pink dreads had the audacity to tell me I was taking to long. They also rolled their eyes at me, and made fun of my beat up sports shoes. I did not feel welcome at ALL. This is not the LA fitness standard, I will not be returning and will take my business to planet fitness!

Just spoke with the manager, Nikita, concerning my review from earlier. Well, I must say she is AWESOME. She cares about her job and the clients that walk through that door. She listened to my concerns and was very apologetic. She is a great asset to the company.

The location is excellent, all the equipments are available. I would have given 5 stars if wifi was there. It is one of the few locations that does not offer wifi and the service in that area is not the best. Please work on that for the customers.

Please BEWARE! The Director of Personal Training is giving this location a bad name. He is a fast talker and will sign you up on false pretenses. He will tell you lie after lie about your contract. Once you sign it he changes every great thing he says. The contract is never printed out you are looking on a computer. He told me I would have 6 sessions per month for 1hr, turns out I only get 4 sessions per month for 30 minutes for 165.00 per month. He said I would be training with him every month on my 6th session; he has never trained with me as of yet. He promises to call you in 5 days if he does not she you active. Yes you guessed it right. Never heard from him and I was out over 30 days ill. I would like to cancel my false contract. I spoke with him recently after calling a thousand times. He insulted by saying, "Why do you really want to get out of the contract, is it because you don't have the money?" And 2nd insult, "When you signed up I worked with you for 25 minutes and you were huffing and puffing, can you even work out for an hour?" I have never missed a payment. Still paying even though I was out sick. I cannot believe they have him representing this department. Be careful...fair warning.

I was blown away by the kindness of Operations Manager Nikita on 9/28. She treated me with dignity and compassion while being displaced from Tampa during Hurricane Ian. I am very grateful to her and highly recommend this club to anyone looking for a family atmosphere. Thank you Nikita!

Parking is tight if you drive an 18 wheeler. Everything was great. Clean. Has sauna and hot tub.
