Derek has been really helpful since day 1 of joining. He's truly gone above and beyond to make an excellent first impression of this location. The cafe staff are really warm and helpful as well. I've had good experiences from staff here including my personal trainer Sophia who gave me a truly great smoothie recipe and has been very supportive in my workout sessions. Also had a good experience with Lisa who led a Root Yoga class. The cold plunge and sauna are some of my favorite amenities. Best of all is the convenience of the location.

I called Lifetime today because I was very interested in joining — I’ve heard great things about the facility and the classes. However, I was disappointed that the membership price was quite high and there was no flexibility or effort to work with me on a better rate.

I really wanted to become a member, but the cost was just too much compared to other gyms that offer similar amenities.

I hope Lifetime considers offering more flexible pricing or promotions for people who want to join long-term, because the community and programs seem amazing otherwise.

Derek and Baily were such a big help and always friendly at the front desk. I come at night a lot and they are usually on the closing staff. They always check in and ask about my day, what workouts I’m hitting and answer any questions myself or family has. Also the operations team keeps the facility spotless, at nights Devin and Pascal always say hi and see them going around cleaning and helping. Highly recommend for people looking for an athletic style country club.

This used to be my gym before relocating out of state came back recently to find out they are no longer 24hours and the massive price increase

I did love everything about it plus 24hour access without that it's just not worth it to me 😭

This gym is overall excellent — clean facilities, great amenities, and very friendly staff. Most of the employees go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, which is exactly what you’d expect from a high-end gym.

Unfortunately, there is one receptionist who consistently falls short. She works only on certain days, and unlike the rest of the staff, she rarely greets members or makes you feel welcome. I’ve seen her spend several minutes chatting with friends before acknowledging people waiting to check in. If you ask for help, she seems dismissive and unapproachable, often giving off the impression that assisting members is an inconvenience.

On top of that, she tends to laugh and talk so loudly at the front desk that it can be heard from the upstairs cardio area, which feels unprofessional and inconsiderate to those working out.

For the price of this gym, I’d expect the same level of professionalism and courtesy from every staff member. Thankfully, the rest of the team does an outstanding job — it’s just disappointing that one person stands out in such a negative way.

I have been a loyal member for several years, but my recent experience has left me extremely disappointed. My membership lapsed due to a credit card change, which I believed I had already updated. The only reminders were sent via email, which unfortunately went to my spam folder. I never received a phone call or any alternative form of communication to notify me.

As a result, my account was suspended, and I only discovered this when I arrived at the gym and was denied access. I was told the only option to reinstate my membership was to pay the outstanding balance plus a new membership fee totaling over $500. Considering I only attend once a month (at most every other month), this was unreasonable.

I asked if I could simply clear the balance owed, but I was told that was not possible. After years of consistent payments and loyalty, I expected some level of flexibility or customer care. Instead, I was left feeling that my membership and commitment held no value to them.

This entire situation could have been avoided with better communication and a willingness to work with long-term members. Unfortunately, I am deeply upset by how this was handled and cannot recommend this gym based on the lack of customer loyalty and support.

I didn’t know how to work out before. Through Lifetime personal training, I learned how to exercise on my own and gained confidence. For women like me who don’t really know how to work out, I definitely recommend learning from a trainer. The staff are all friendly and professional, and I never felt like the money was wasted. It's 100% worth it for me.

I was at Life Time Fitness Woodstock as a contractor. Having said that, this place is super nice. The gym is massive, indoor and outdoor pool. Sauna's, hot tub, daycare. The staff is very nice and professional. If I lived in the Woodstock area, this would be my gym.

Not sure who the pool operator is for this site . Rust everywhere, missing caps on the floor pool causing open holes, if someone is hurt your a minute away from law suit and shut down. The deck is very dirty and unsanitary with leafs and dirty. The vacuum was left out today on pool deck as member’s where swimming. The spa inside mens is so rusty it should be shut down. Giving this location another try as our family likes this place better around us.

There is this reign inside that says “Ages 12 and Older”. It is not fair at all. They would force me outside in the 90 degree range. I really could not go outside because it was so hot. I decided to go home but i still complained about it. Don’t go here if you are under 12 years old. The other parents complained with their children near them.

This Lifetime gym is almost as nice as the other LT gyms, except they have the Lifetime works inside! A downfall is that the interior pool deck is getting really dirty. I loved that they got us upgraded towels that are longer! They replaced some gym equipment and steppers as well. The best part about this location is that they have the eucalyptus scented towels for use after my GTX workout.

My partner has been a member for a few years now. I generally workout at LA Fitness or Crunch, and don't need all the bells and whistles that come with big club like lifetime. However, she has taken to pickleball and I thought about joining so I can workout with her and participate in a pickle all game here and there. It was a steep increase from what I currently pay, but looking at the website and comparing membership prices for one person and then two, it was an additional $80. However, they wanted an extra $120 when it came time to join. I asked the desk why there was an increase of 50% for family members who already had an established account; I was told it was because the price they paid doesn't change “grandfathered in,” so they make up the difference when a family member joins. They take a loyalty benefit and then screw over the family member to make it up. That’s not cool.

I’m currently here for the 1st time for a Birthday party. Everything has been great, but as I’m sitting here at a table where the indoor swimming pool area is, I can’t help but notice the oversized windows above where others work out. The equipment is facing the windows, lined right up to the front of them (the exercise bikes in particular) allowing those working out to watch everything going on in the pool area. That is a very poor design in my opinion and one that made my decision not to become a member. There are too many predators in this world that could take full advantage of this and stalk and/or prey upon children or young women.

LifeTime is truly more than just a gym—it's a wellness haven! From the variety of fitness classes to the luxurious amenities like saunas, hot tubs, and sports courts, there's something here for everyone. I especially love their GTX class; it's a dynamic, zone-based workout that keeps me motivated and challenged every time.

The Kids Club is a game-changer for me as a parent. My kids absolutely love it! The staff is incredibly friendly and engaging, and they always have fun activities lined up, making it easy to get in a workout while knowing they’re well cared for. The "Parents' Night Out" events are a fantastic bonus! The kids have a blast, and it’s a nice treat to have a few hours for myself.

LifeTime has been amazing for our whole family. Highly recommend it!

If I could, I would give it more than just five stars. The entire club is just exquisite. It’s short of a country club really the networking is the relationship you make as far as friendships and lasting relationships that go beyond material wealth it’s a true sense of belonging and a feeling of, a shared goal of health . Derek at the front desk, so gracious and kind that one day when I was in a bind and couldn’t figure out what kind of class I wanted to take And beyond and help guide me in the right direction because of Lifetime I’ve been able to get my life back on track not my health but my whole entire self. I’ve been able to utilize the kids club, the spa, the pool and cardio classes All in which has made me a more well-rounded person. Thank you, Lifetime Fitness

I can’t say enough good things. Gabriella always makes it a point to say hi by name every time she sees me. Ron, the trainer, has transformed my son’s life by being SO much more than a personal trainer. He has been a confidante and part of our circle and it’s only been 7 weeks since joining. This isn’t a gym, it’s a health club and full service facility that caters to needs we didn’t even know we needed.
I had intentions of only joining for Summer to go to the pool. Now we’re working out 3-4 days a week and only been to the pool 3 times. Lol. We grab smoothies/coffees often and just love the vibe. Can’t say enough good things.

The facilities are good, however it is impossible to enjoy the amenities included with your membership subscription when the manager on duty at the end of the night makes at least 10 announcements lasting at least 1 minute each to announce the clubs closing time. The messages are EXTREMELY passive aggressive, annoying, and irritating. At this club a member cannot simply enjoy the last HOUR of their time without being constantly reminded of the closing time. A 10-20 minute warning would be understandable in efforts to herd people out of the building, but the announcements marked at 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, and 1 minute before closing are unbelievably annoying and rude.

I re-joined after a year, not the same. No one cares about you after you join. Went to the pool to swim and have dinner the other evening. Website says the outdoor food is open till 7. We got there at 5, swan till 6 and went to get food for the family. They advised us they were closing early because they were not busy enough. Let alone they had a line of people wanting food in which they were turning away due to closing early. So no more family evening swim and dinner.
Then I called the front desk and asked for a manager to see why this was ok, they said there was no manager on duty?? Really??🙄🙄

Their personal trainers walk around with “DPT” in big bold letters on their shirts and in small print it says “dynamic personal trainers.” This is incredibly misleading and dangerous, as personal trainers are not doctors of physical therapy and cannot treat injuries. Lifetime is currently facing legal action from the APTA because of this. Do better Lifetime.

I have been going to this gym for over a year and it has been the best decision i have made in my journey to healthier lifestyle as a mom with kids. I used to go to different gyms but i wasnt able to find a gym that provides adequate activities for my kids. It could get hectic with the amount of kids at the center but as long as each kids become friends and are able to adapt to the kids center, its mostly a successful 2.5 hr stop at the gym. there are a lot of activities the kids can do during the time you exercise and sometimes they have different activities going on per hour for the kids.

as for the exercising areas for adults, its tough during peak hours so i try to adapt to the availability of the equipment. (also you can ask people how many sets they have left and will be surprised how accommodating they will be). I personally feel like gym is my extended home due to the members that attends the gym & the employees that work at the woodstock location.

lastly, Chelsey & James are the lead rep at the kid center & aquatics. they are very attentive to parents needs and are able to provide assistance on needed basis.
Brooke is the lead concierge rep and she is able to navigate you to right direction if you have any questions about the membership/other information. everyone is very personable at the gym.

I was a member when this gym opened 14 plus years ago. I took a 2 years brake.Im back now but I find the gym in not a good shape:). Lot of dirt and hair on the bottom of the exercise machines . Some personal trainers are so loud like nobody else is in the room . Hot tube not WORKING . it is still my favorite gym , but the new manager has to work a little on customer service and to dust the place much better . Also the suggestion box from the main entrance disappeared ....Maybe place need a better manager...For $130 per month you need to do better

If I could select zero stars I would!! We have been with lifetime for over five years, at first the service was amazing and as the years went on service dropped significantly. My parents moved to Woodstock changing their fantastic location in Alpharetta to Woodstock lifetime. My parents are elderly and my mother has knee pain limiting her walking, so she uses the pool to get her daily exercise in. Well she cannot walk all the way to the women's locker room so she has been using the family room since they started going to lifetime. Now they're telling her that she needs to use the women's locker room and not the family room which is significantly closer to the pool. The general manager Todd tells my mom that she can't use the family room anymore, when my mom expressed that she cannot walk to the locker room. He was very rude to her and told her she has to use the locker room or she has to go to another fitness center. I have never heard of such a thing before. Usually businesses accommodate the needs of the customers specially the elderly and this place very rudely tells my mom to go somewhere else..like she didn't matter. If it was your own mom would you do the same thing? I don't think so! Very insensitive, rude, no empathy at all. People like you should not be managers..very sad that this location has hired a manager like you!

Terrible Experience! Please Read

The location itself is great, and the front desk associates are very personable. But lifetimes accounting office has refused to reimburse me for the last years premiums I was unaware I was being charged since I cancelled my membership last September. It’s unfortunate that the Gym Industry and lifetime included beats up there customers with their unwillingness to resolve simple billing disputes. I cancelled my gym membership last September but lifetime simply stated they have no record of such thing, even with them knowing my last check in was a year ago they still refuse to reimburse me. This issue has costed me over $1,100 that I was unaware I was being charged. I feel scammed.

Gym- 10/10. Very clean, staff is always friendly, wide variety of machines & classes to choose from.

The best part?

Mary B’s EDG cycle class. Freakin’ 12/10. Mary is a total G. She plays THE best music. A little bit of nostalgic oldies mixed with todays hits. She’s got it down to a synchronized art that perfectly fits the way she leads this class. She’s so upbeat and friendly the entire time while keeping you motivated. She talks to us like we’ve been friends for years. And honestly? I can’t tell if I’m working out or causally sipping a glass of pinot noir on my back deck chatting it up with an old friend. That’s how effortless she makes this workout. (And you will feel it the next day. Point, blank, period.)

Amazing yoga place, like 5 stars but i cannot rate it better due to a very disappointing experience with their child center. You leave your kid and they might simply watch sonthey don't get hurt but that's all — taking care while you exercise or even consoling a crying toddler requires a commitment and another level of care that their staff do not have and is not required to have. And if you complain as I did you will hear that they are addressing indeed the current complaints which they haven't really but that you have to deal with your child's separation anxiety issue. Great help child center people.

I was about to give a 5 star review almost just because they had a cold plunge option out back. I was also going to return to my membership next time I was in town, but alas, this company’s cancellation process is corrupt, designed to steal your time and make it difficult, and they will charge you for an additional month even though you’re not able to be in town for it. Yes, it’s in the fine print, but I specifically asked front desk about cancellation and they did not mention it. I hope the extra money you’re stealing is worth the loss of business, bad word of mouth, and multiple bad reviews.

I will not change this review until I am refunded the full amount I paid for the month I won’t be able to use the facility.

I have been a member of Lifetime since 2017, but in Minnesota. The facilities are very similar regardless of location. Woodstock facility was every bit as high quality. It is a positive, upbeat place. I feel that an investment in my health is well worth it. They have many classes included with membership. I love it!!

Edit: they let go of my favorite trainer😞 canceling my membership he was the only reason I felt confident going to the gym! They honestly just want your money they don’t truly care for the members or a membership wouldn’t be 108 minimum ontop of paying for the trainer to train u🙃

I came in yesterday for a tour, I was greeted by the front desk in a timely manor. I was then given a tour of the facility by a trainer named Ijon, who did a wonderful job of showing me everything and answering all my questions. He brought me through every part of the gym from the yoga rooms to the pool and weights! The gym itself is huge! I LOVE that there is childcare there huge plus! I will be back!!

High priced gym that really only wants people's money. Trainers are given a nominal fraction of what we pay for classes, cost for trainers is controlled by the gym, not the trainers. Zero flex. Tried to cancel when I moved out of range, forgot to sign the dotted line. Received a bill for $300 this month that I cannot legally contest. Wouldn't suck so bad if the smaller gym I went to for my first sign up hadn't actually cared about its members: Iron Clutch Fitness, smaller chain with lower tech setup arranged things so their members would automatically suspend accounts and stop billing no questions asked if a member went 30 days without checking in, which has earned my undying loyalty. I guess IFC just set my standards too high, and Lifetime Fitness doesn't measure up. Don't go here. The pool's not worth it; get a membership to a local aquatics club instead. The rest of their equipment is available for much cheaper membership fees elsewhere. Not worth the costs, especially when the people doing the real work aren't seeing much of it.

This company has no regard for members.

I joined before there was a club completed and was told that I could attend any club in the country with my membership. However now, I cannot go to the next nearest club even though the hot-tub at my local gym has not been operational for 2 weeks and I am being told it will be unavailable for another 2 weeks. The next nearest club is an "Elite club" which requires a membership "upgrade," (an option not offered when I joined.) I guess they don't know that they have quality competition near by now. But I sure do. And so will every one I have ever refered to this club.

Drive at your own risk in this parking lot. No stop signs or pavement markers. The county has reported 26 entering autos and 19 accidents in the past 5yrs. Members are at risk of having your cars broken into or getting into a car accident. Their video cameras are often blocked by trees. Do better LifeTime. Still no improved safety measures taken by LifeTime 3mo + later.

I was hesitant about joining a large gym. I was afraid that the cost would eventually not be worth it. But honestly, it’s been so much better than any of the small gyms I’ve tried! It’s easier to connect with people because there’s just more people to choose from. But at the same time, since the gym is so large, it’s hardly ever to where you’re waiting on a piece of equipment. After a while I decided to try a personal trainer. I was paired up with Matt Bentkowski, who is a highly certified and senior level trainer at lifetime. Matt has been reeeeeally good! I’ve been working with him for two years now. I’m getting older and so I have bouts with tendinitis, old knee surgeries they give me some aches and pains, and just the general risk of hurting myself by overdoing it in general. Also, for no discovered reason yet, I get dizzy during sets of workouts. Matt has been excellent with coming up with creative exercises to work all of my muscle groups, while avoiding my varied issues that arise physically. And beyond all of that, he’s just a really nice dude. He’s the kind of guy that you automatically know that if he’s saying something, it’s the truth and the whole truth. I can work with people like that. I highly recommend lifetime and specifically I highly recommend Matt!

Life Time is more than a gym, it's a full body experience. The whole place has a luxurious spa-like feel. It features an actual spa, an expansive indoor pool with multiple saunas and large hot tubs, a generous and roomy outdoor pool with dedicated walk-in children's area, slides, and lap lanes, several sports courts for pickleball, basketball, and squash/racquetball, a climbing wall, a huge weightlifting floor with multiple options for the same muscle groups/movements, a friendly and judgement-free environment, luxurious locker rooms, tons of group fitness areas (fitness classes, spin, pilates, yoga), and probably more things that I'm missing. The staff is friendly and will make you feel like family. Somehow the manager, Pat, seems to remember the names of every single member. It's actually astonishing. I was paired with a great trainer who is sensitive to my special needs, and the other trainers also seem good--they're always focused on their clients. It's always easy to find a trainer or staff member for help or to ask questions. Group fitness instructors are extremely energetic...too much for me, personally, but they're inspirational and helpful, clearly experts in their fields. There's tons of options for classes and group fitness and I love that I can reserve assigned spots in the app. This place is well worth the price if you want a one stop shop for all things active.

Been a member for over 15 years and this site has been in a steep decline the last few months. Any facility is going to have ups and down and Mountain Brook has had its ebbs and flows but it is in its worst condition in 17 years and getting worse.

Water fountains are finally turned back on, but water is warm in most of them. Spas have been closed frequently and after being closed for a full 2 days the site finally sent an email out saying they would now be closed for maintenance. In other words it was broken and they tried to hide it for a few days before pretending it was intentional. Half the lockers have had their keys lost or stolen and can't be used. Bathroom sinks have such poor water pressure it takes around 90 seconds to fill a 16oz bottle (yep... I counted) and the low-flow showers make it very hard to get clean. In spite of regular long lines on the basketball court, they decided to tear one up. Literally covered the nice hardwood polished court with... drum-roll... asphalt. Can't make this up. The 4 squash courts have very little use (at least compared to the basketball courts) and they have begun cracking down on anyone who uses them to play racquetball. Food quality has dropped a bit since covid (which to a degree is understandable) but for $15 dollars you barely get 300 calories in your burrito which tastes like a gas station wrap. The list goes on, but the point is this facility used to be known for its high quality, comfortable exercise environment yet has begun neglecting members in attempts to squeeze extra funds. They promised to be a 24/7 facility when they opened yet dropped their hours (closing especially early on Sundays). The last few weeks I have noticed the later it gets, the less cleaning supplies there are. Most the cleaning wipes in popular areas are almost always gone by the evening (the do still have regular spray bottles and paper towels).

The redeeming quality is the staff and the reason this is a 2 star instead of a 1 star. The team members there are top-notch. They couldn't be more kind, encouraged to communicate with members and helpful. They are keeping that place in business in spite of the execs. Even at 11:00PM when the site is starting to wind down for the night they are working hard right till closing.

Sadly, As of the middle 2022, Lifetime Mountainbrook is not worth the cost at all.

I went here as a guest before I committed to a membership. This is a really nice facility with clean locker rooms, and a good variety of workout machines. However, the clerk that checked us in was a tad rude and kept pronouncing my name wrong, despite me correcting her multiple times. I also noticed nobody wipes down their machines after use which is disgusting. There didn't seem to be staff members doing cleaning during the time I was there. Otherwise I did enjoy my workout so I may revisit in the future.

Lifetime fitness is more of a resort than a fitness club. It's massive and immaculately detailed in every way. No matter what it is you love to do in order to workout and reach your fitness goals, they will 100% have it, and a lot of it. No other fitness club can really compare to it unless you're inside of a luxury resort.

PROS -

There are more pros when it comes to this facility then I could probably list in one review. It is a huge place. Want to swim? They've got a total of three huge pools, one being an outside pool that includes a huge water slide.

The actual equipment and training facility is also massive. Any piece of equipment that is your preference will have at least three variations of it. I like this because I don't like working out directly close to another person, as it can be awkward for me. So the fact that they have so much equipment and so many options is a great thing.

They also have so many different classes and other benefits that are completely free. They give you a free fitness assessment once you sign up, so that they can help you reach those goals that you may have.
One of my favorite things is that they have a fully stocked locker room that includes showers, your own locker to leave bags or whatever you come in with, and also rags, towels, deodorant, lotions and whatever else you could need. It's truly amazing once you get there and realize all the options they provide you with.
I also love the fact that they have two huge full basketball courts. Other fitness clubs have basketball courts that stay full, because it's generally only one Court. Here you always have the room to shoot around and play a little basketball as both courts are never completely full. It's a great place to go and practice. Also there is a huge rock climbing wall that is right there next to the courts.

The service is also top notch and very consistent. They're always right there to help you, very courteous. Also I love the hours, as they are open until midnight daily, and only closed for 4 hours as they open back up at 4:00 a.m. (pre-pandemic they were open for 24 hours)

CONS - as you would probably expect being a member at a place with so many options and accommodations, IT'S NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP 😂

And it certainly is not cheap. For a person with a family like myself, I wish they had more options and better plans that are more diverse. For a family of four you're going to be spending $250 a month for membership. That could be considered a value based on the fact that one person has to pay $100 per month, and every other person that joins your membership will be able to do so for only $50 per month additionally.

Needless to say, you have to really be committed to your fitness goals and staying healthy in order to justify that type of money monthly, especially as costs are rising across the board on everything.

Another thing to consider is that they don't have a lot of locations. So unless you're within a reasonable distance of the three locations they have in the Metro Atlanta area, it might not make sense for you. When I initially signed up I thought that the 20 minute commute would be worth it based on how nice and immaculate the club is. But with rising fuel costs and other things to consider, I found myself not going as much. Then at that point I'm having to decide "is this really worth the money I'm spending to come here?" The answer to that question will be different for every person I'm sure. But, the locations will still be something to consider unless you're close by.

Lifetime fitness does not offer a trial period like some other fitness clubs do, and I understand why. But if you're looking to try them out in order to see how well you like them, try going there about 10 days ahead of the next month.

My experience with this Life Time location has been refreshing. Specifically today. The customer/employee interaction was pretty remarkable. My daughter and I were practicing volleyball in the gym. A staff member Deasian ( that may be misspelled) introduced herself and engaged us through sharing her college athletic experience in volleyball. She pointed out a few fundamentals and areas of improvement. And briefly interacted with my daughter. Very genuine and very passionate about teaching others.

I can appreciate Life Time more getting a little peak into the culture.

The lockers at this location are really annoying, I don’t understand why they don’t use combination locks like at the other lifetime locations. Also, the steam rooms are gross with hair everywhere from never being hosed down. The floors and surface areas in general could be a lot cleaner. One good improvement is that they finally give you conditioner in the women’s showers. Also it’s good that they’re monitoring guests in the outdoor pool area, and being respectful to year round loyal members. As for the classes, they’re all good except for kickboxing. The class is a joke. It is actually a dance class and makes a mockery of real kickboxing. The instructor is has horrible form and looks like she’s doing a chicken dance when doing punches. Please call this class something else but do not call it kickboxing.

Nice gym and seems like it would be great if you can afford it. It is a family style gym which is really cool. Very clean and well kept with a quite a bit of amenities.... at least what I saw on the tour. But I did not purchase a membership. My household has 4 people and a membership for all of us would be a little over $200 a month. Maybe not bad in comparison to some places but still I think a bit pricey since I have a 2 people in my household under 15 and yoy only get one free personal training session. If they were a bit less I would definitely consider.
