I’ve been attending Orangetheory for about a month now, and it’s been an amazing experience! I’ve taken classes with a few coaches, but I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Coach KB. Her energy is unmatched, and she has a way of making everyone feel seen, supported, and included. She creates such a welcoming and uplifting environment that truly motivates you to keep coming back.
I also appreciate how inclusive the entire studio feels. From the front desk staff to the other coaches like Becca, everyone goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and encouraged. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or pushing toward new goals, Orangetheory is a place where you’ll feel like you belong.

Long Post Alert:
My experience at Orangetheory Fitness was unfortunately disappointing, primarily due to poor customer service from the front desk staff and a few of the trainer. This was a pattern of treatment that made me feel uncomfortable — particularly as a person of color. There were multiple instances where I felt overlooked, dismissed, or treated differently than other members, and it genuinely impacted how welcome I felt in the studio.
That said, I do want to give credit where it’s due: the manager at this location was the one bright spot in my experience. They were professional, respectful, and genuinely seemed to care about addressing my concerns when I finally brought them forward. While I didn’t feel that the broader culture or staff behavior reflected the same level of accountability, the manager listened and made an effort to engage with what I was saying — something I appreciated more than I can express.
Unfortunately, one person can only do so much when the rest of the team doesn’t reflect the same values. I hope Orangetheory takes a closer look at how its staff treat members of all backgrounds and makes inclusivity and equity a real priority — not just a buzzword.
Until then, I won’t be returning — but I sincerely hope things change, especially for the sake of people like the manager who are trying to do the right thing in a tough environment.

Subject: Response to Your Letter
Tammy,
I am responding to your letter to clarify several things:
1. Did you terminate my membership, or did I request a refund? Your letter states that you “fully terminated” my membership, yet I was under the impression that I simply requested a refund. Which one is it? Because your response seems to shift the narrative.
2. On accusations of misrepresentation: You claim that Ms. Harvey and I misrepresented something, yet I have not spoken to April regarding this situation. If there is something specific you believe I said, I would appreciate clarity instead of vague accusations.
3. Let’s talk about privacy: You seem concerned about privacy violations, yet in response to my review, you openly disclosed that I had a virus—COVID. That is a personal medical condition that you had no legal right to disclose publicly. Under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1320d-6), revealing someone’s private health information without their consent is a violation of federal law and can result in penalties. So, who’s actually violating privacy here?
4. Regarding accusations of unfair treatment: You refuse to defend yourself against claims of racial bias, yet you bring up your religious beliefs as a defense. Being a “Christ follower” does not exempt you from accountability, nor does it negate the experiences of those who feel mistreated.
5. On your mention of diversity: You claim to “cherish diversity,” yet there are no Black employees at OTF—not because none applied, but because you ran them all off. Diversity requires more than just words—it requires an environment where people of all backgrounds feel valued, not driven away.
6. Black History Month and core values: If you truly believe in fairness and inclusivity, why is Black History Month “beneath” you? A commitment to equality means acknowledging history, not dismissing it when it makes you uncomfortable.
7. The refund and “false guarantee”: Let’s be honest—you refunded my money only because of the reviews I left. You can frame it however you want, but the reality is that this is just another example of the false guarantees you operate under.
8. Nothing is free—your advertising is misleading. You falsely advertised “free trials” and other promotions that didn’t actually exist. Everything had a catch, and nothing was truly as advertised. Your business practices rely on deceptive marketing, and it’s clear this refund is just damage control, not genuine customer service.
I encourage you to reflect on your leadership approach and how you address concerns of bias within your organization. If you are willing to have a real, open conversation about these issues, I am open to it. Otherwise, I’ll take this as confirmation of your unwillingness to acknowledge or address valid concerns.
Warm regards,
Desiree McClendon

Had my first experience at OT today. Olivia and Coach J were both fantastic. I always appreciate a clean workout environment and Olivia made sure of that! Coach J was not only encouraging but pushed the class to do our best effort and that was definitely appreciated. Great job making working out fun!

I’ve been a member for about 3 months and can say the staff is diverse and kind. The personal trainers care about every part of your workout routine and give precise, accurate advice on your form as to make sure you don’t injure yourself, and that you’re targeting the correct muscles. I even got a sweet deal on my first two months working out here. It’s a full body experience for those looking to turn things around and get that summer body back (I.E. me). 13/10 have and will continue to recommend to my friends and anyone else that’ll listen.
Ps: I’ve never even conceived the thought of a gym celebrating black history month… they’re even hosting a 90 minute celebratory workout session. I mean they tick boxes I didn’t even know were there. Orange Theory of Warner Robins is definitely the place to be.

Concerns Regarding Transparency, Membership Policies, and Inclusivity
1. Love It or Leave It Guarantee – At no point was I informed that I needed to complete 12 workouts to qualify for a refund. If this was a requirement, it should have been made explicitly clear at the time of signing up. A refund policy that is not transparently communicated can be considered misleading, if not false advertising.
2. Promotional Offer – The “buy one, get one free” promotion is not truly free if a mandatory purchase of a heart rate monitor is required. That should have been fully disclosed upfront.
3. Membership Freeze – The only reason my membership was paused was because I requested a refund. You initially placed the freeze on January 18th, but once I pursued a refund, you altered the freeze date to January 12th, claiming you had to “trick the system.” This suggests that you had full control over when the freeze could take effect but chose to act only when it suited your interests.
4. Black History Month – Your claim of valuing diversity is inconsistent with previous statements and actions. You initially dismissed Black History Month as “irrelevant” and stated you didn’t have time for it because your daughter is getting married. The event you planned only came about after concerns were raised. Furthermore, I have been made aware of past instances where Black employees were misled about raises, leading to their departure. Additionally, a staff member shared that you have expressed views suggesting you see Black people as beneath you.
5. Management Issues – It is evident that many people who joined did not stay due to poor management. The retention rate speaks for itself.
Your response does not address these concerns in good faith, and it is clear that there are ongoing issues regarding transparency, fair treatment, and inclusivity at your studio. I hope this feedback encourages you to reflect and make meaningful improvements

False Advertising & No Refunds – Beware!
I had a frustrating experience at Orangetheory Fitness on Watson Blvd due to false advertising and misleading promotions. They claim to offer “free months” as part of their deals, but in reality, you pay full price for everything—there are no actual free months. When I addressed this issue and requested a refund, they refused to honor it.
To make matters worse, the owner, Tammy, has shown a clear disregard for Black History Month, which is unacceptable for any business that claims to support its community. A company that misleads customers and disrespects cultural observances is not one I can support.
If you’re considering signing up, read the fine print carefully and be aware that their marketing does not match reality. I recommend taking your business elsewhere to a gym that values honesty, integrity, and inclusivity.

In a 60 minute session, I can get a complete cardio and core workout, supervised by a professional coach. I also like the fact that I can use the OTF app to schedule my class. This gives me the accountability that I need. I highly recommend OrangeTheory Fitness for anyone at any age that wants to be at their very best of physical and mental health.

Update. 3/1/2024..its been over 1 yr & I still received daily or every other day calls regarding getting a membership. I have informed the proper ppl and taken the appropriate avenues to stop the calls but they continue. This is harassment at this point & will look into wat can be done legally about this. This is beyond ridiculous & disturbing.
This company marketing/potential new customer team is beyond annoying and aggressive. 3-4 months ago, I was interested in trying a free class to see if I liked it & signed up on the website. But, after further looking at the website, I decided a potential membership was not in my budget. So, a few days later, they called (as the website said they would) to follow up on my request. I was unable to get to my phone the 1st few times they called, but they left voicemails and stated to give them a call if I was still interested. I was no longer interested, hence I didn't call them back. I figured, oh well, I'm sure they will figure that out. Well.... Apparently, that's not how it goes. They call me almost every single freaking day for the past 3-4 months. It got to the point that I blocked the number. So whenever they call, it goes straight to voicemail. That stopped nothing. They continue to incessantly leave voice message after voice message with the same message to call them if I am interested in a free class. If I haven't called back, im not interested, obviously. If my phone doesn't ring for the whole day, I can be sure that good ole faithful Orange Theory Fitness will call & leave a voicemail. I wake up every morning & cry every night praying to dear god that Orange Theory don't call me...Please..for the love of God... stop calling & harassing me!!! I don't want a free class. I don't want a membership. I don't want anything to do with Orange Theory. I'll remove this review when you remove my number off your spawn of Satan call list!

Whether you're a runner, jogger, or walker, you can cater the workout to your abilities. You're guided from one thing to the next in a fun, exciting way. I like how motivational the coaches are -- it seems like they always chime in when I need that little bit of a push to keep going. I walk away from every workout feeling great and accomplished. Literally just recommended OTF to a friend of mine in another state!

I've been going to OT for 2 years now and have never been a "workout class" type person. What I love about OT is you are in a class but going at your own pace. I got to the point where I wasn't pushing myself working out on my own, so I thought I'd try this out. Here, you have the coaches pushing/encouraging you while ensuring your form is correct.
Also, not only has this been a great gym, but I have met so many great people locally. I wouldn't have the friends I have today if it weren't for OT. The sales staff, coaches, and "workout classmates" are all just wonderful people to be around. You will not regret trying a free class!

They suck. First time going I was informed that they were packed and I was supposed to be there at least 30 minutes in advance. My appointment was at 1:30pm today. If they wanted me there 30 minutes prior why not build that in the appointment time? Horrible first impression Watson Blvd location. I definitely won’t be back. Too many other gyms that are more than happy to take my money without the rigid guidelines. This is not a boot camp, but a place that is supposed to show a willingness to help. No thanks 😡

I joined back in May before they opened. I was told that they would notify me when they opened in the Warner Robins location. They did email me but I didn’t check I do realize that was my fault. In July I noticed that they took money out of my account that’s when I realized that they were opened. I was upset that they did not call me and let me know that they were opened. I then decided that I did not want to stay with this gym I went in and explained that I was not contacted They preceded to tell me there were emails sent. So I canceled my membership I realize I did sign the contract of 30 day notice and I purchased the heart monitor and never received it due to I have never worked out. They went to take my last payment and it did not go through so they did call me about that so they can get there money. I do realize that they are here to make money but they acted like they were much better then any gym and were a more personal gym but I feel they are not and they are very expensive they will get there last payment but I feel that they did not hold up there end of the contract either.
Thank you
