The overall environment at this Planet Fitness is clean, but several treadmills (about 3–4) are out of order. The real disappointment, however, is the Personal Trainer. I strongly advise not scheduling a class through the app. He was preoccupied with another client during my scheduled time, told me he’d get back to me, and then completely forgot. After waiting nearly an hour and a half, he finally approached me only to say that I could “find him if I need anything” while I’m at the gym.

It’s frustrating and disheartening—especially when you see the trainer eating American Deli wings and fries instead of focusing on scheduled clients. Overall, Planet Fitness is good for the value, but at this MLK location don’t expect the personal training or scheduled classes to be reliable. I wish I had stayed with my original location.

UPDATE: I'm so disappointed. I've called this location multiple times to cancel my membership. Ive advanced into a better equipped gym for my needs. I'm no longer living in Atlanta, it's been almost a year! I was told I would have to physical go into my home gym to cancel. Im not flying to Atlanta to cancel a membership. Thats the stupidest shit I ever heard. I actually spoke with someone OCT 2024 and was assured Brandon would handle the cancelation of my membership. It's August 2025 and I'm still receiving calls and messages about my late fees stacking. I don't understand why it's so difficult to cancel, especially giving the fact I've relocated.

MONTHS ago, this Planet Fitness cancelled my membership. I found out when trying to exercise one day.

No one could explain why and I got the runaround for months.

Finally, manager Brandon suggested that he could start me a new membership AT A HIGHER RATE than I was paying. This is unacceptable.

Ultimately, he found a way to honor my previous rate for a few months. When asked what would happen after those months, he told me I'd have to pay more.

This is unethical and should frankly be illegal. I requested his leadership and he refused to refer me to anyone. I asked why no one could simply fix this because I did not cause these issues. No apologies and no solutions. He ultimately said he'd contact his regional leadership and contact me back. That was months ago........

And yes, I STILL HAVEN'T BEEN HELPED and no one has contacted me.

**Review:**

I had a horrible experience at this location. My membership payment was due **yesterday** (03/18/2025), not overdue, and my app still let me scan in. However, as soon as I walked in, an employee **stopped me mid-step** and refused to let me work out until I paid **on the spot**. Instead of a simple courtesy reminder, he made it feel like I was trying to sneak in or do something wrong.

At my **original** Planet Fitness on Oak Street, they would never handle it this way. They actually understand customer service and treat members with respect. I was considering making this location my new gym because it's closer, but after this experience? **Absolutely not.**

The employee who stopped me was a **dark-skinned male with dreads in a ponytail/bun**, not even wearing a proper Planet Fitness uniform—he looked more like he was there to work out. If he wants to act like security, he should find a job doing that instead of discouraging paying members from coming in.

I ended up leaving and going back to my regular gym. **Train your staff on how to treat people, or you’ll keep losing members.**

I come here regularly and the staff is very nice. They always greet you as you walk in. I also appreciate knowing that the equipment is being cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. This was the smallest and most outdated PF I’ve ever stepped foot in. It is clean and one of the front desk employees is nice and professional out of the 4 standing there not acknowledging guest as they walk in. Our planet fitness on Martin Luther King drive is amazing. The facility os always clean. The staff is welcoming. As someone who has never been into fitness or the gym I can say that when I come in I dont feel intimidated. Other members are in their zones working on themselves and dont make me feel awkward as I am fairly new into my fitness journey. They have an ample amount of bikes, treadmills, stair climbers, and 3 or 4 dedicated areas for specialized training i.e arms and abs, 30 minute workout, trainer workouts etc. I have not used the spa, showers or lockers but the restroom and locker area has been clean if needed. For convenience there is a $1 store next door if you forget water. They also sell water and snacks on site. The machines can get tied up from tome to time depending on what tome you go but foe thw most part there are 10-30 members in the building when I go to work out. This is MLK so lock your doors I believe they have surveillance cameras outside of the building. I have never had any issues with anyone outside of the facility. I have and will continue recommend this facility for people looking for a good workout facility.

I’ve sustained an injury in Sep. (non-related) and asked them to put my account on freeze in Oct.
They sent me their email to their specific store, saying I had to email them with proof, and so I did. They CONFIRMED with me that my account was on frozen for 3 months. On the 10/17 I get a notification from my credit card that Planet Fitness charged me. I figured it was a mistake, but AGAIN next month (11/17), they charge me again. I call up there trying to get the issue resolved, impossible to get ahold of the manager. Finally TODAY (11/26), I’m able to get ahold of him. He wouldn’t give me his regional managers number even though I begged him to, and he basically told me there’s nothing he can do because the employee gave me the wrong information about emailing, and told me I had to come to the office. I told him I couldn’t, due to my broken foot, and it’s not my fault that the employees don’t know the policies. He began asking me personal questions about how do I get around and if I can somehow find someone to take me. After I continuously explained to him that I haven’t been out due to my injury, for the umpteenth time- he hung up in my face.

Also, I’ve done this before where my account was frozen earlier in the year, due to a severe eye injury. I had no issues with it the first time, I don’t know why they’re giving me so much hassle now.

I have been a member here for approximately eight years and had my membership revoked because of a joke that I made about sun tanning lotion, and one of the presidential candidates. The staff was using the massage chairs during business hours, and also lied about what I said and refused to Review my membership. I Feel like this particular location does not want me to go to this gym because of who I am. I was a member at this location for 2 years. Had to have surgery,stayed out of the gym for 3 months, but in good Faith I continue to pay my 20 dollar membership while I was down. My Planet Fitness Location was out because of some issues with their AC so I’ve been coming to this one on MLK. Jimmy and CeCe in front are excellent. I enjoyed coming here when I did. Unfortunately I had to cancel because I moved and the location I’m looking at has a fitness center included.

The person at the counter that helped with my cancellation was exceptional. He was quick and attentive and explained the process and even suggested I wait to get the confirmation email and then asked if I would like it printed out since the email was taking a while.

This is My Spot: More Than Just a Great Gym

This isn't just any gym, it's my haven, my happy place, and I want to shout it from the rooftops (or at least, from this review)!

Seriously amazing staff: The first thing that hits you at Planet fitness (Adamsville) is the incredible staff. They're not just there to point you towards the dumbbells, they're genuinely friendly, helpful, and always make you feel welcome.

Sparkling clean: Speaking of feeling good, the facilities are impeccably clean. It's clear they take pride in maintaining a hygienic and inviting space for everyone. ✨

But here's a suggestion...

While I wouldn't change a thing about the overall experience, there's one small tweak I think could make it even better. In the 30-minute room workout equipment, some members tend to do isolation routines, which can take up valuable space/time for others looking to move around.

What if we discouraged isolation exercises in that room and instead, displayed a video loop on a flat screen showcasing different exercises you can do on the plyometric boxes and the desired flow of the space? This way, everyone could get the most out of the limited space and equipment available.

Overall, I can't recommend this place enough! It's got the perfect combination of friendly faces, sparkling facilities, and a positive atmosphere that makes you want to keep coming back for more. Plus, with this small suggestion about the 30-minute room, I think it could be even better!

**UPDATE: 3 of 4 stair climbers are broken with no indication of repair. This is the equivalent to having 3 broken smith machines out of 4. What really gives here? Owners need to do better because managers and staff don’t control equipment repair schedules or replacements.

Equipment needs serious attention. 2-3 of the 4 stair climber are constantly broken the last 2-3 months. Only 4 smith machines usually being used. Too much wasted space with too many outdated ellipticals (gray and purple) that don’t have resistance AND elevation features like the newer ellipticals (purple grey and yellow). Suggest removing the outdated ellipticals as they are hardly used and take up too much floor space. This would allow more stairs and smith machines, like Mableton PF which has 8 stair masters and 8 smith machines! And get the maintenance plan warranty so that the stairs can be repaired more efficiently rather than being out of order for months. It’s a worthwhile investment in your equipment and would keep membership levels up. Currently I hardly come to this gym anymore especially during peak hours because of the limited smiths and broken stairs. Oh and maybe get a cardio rower machine.

Nautica, the manager is fantastic. She gave me a tour of the gym and a couple of days later, I joined the club. For the most part, the members are good about cleaning the equipment after use. As a manager, Nautica doesn't sit around,
she actively walks and cleans equipment to make sure everything sparkles. There are tons of machines for every possible exercise. I also recently had the pleasure of meeting James who was also very helpful. I look forward to a long and healthy relationship at this facility.
