The location is super convened as it's a part of Cumberland Mall. However both times I went to this location, it seems to have a problem with temperature. It's very hot already walking in, so imagine working out. Not to mention it's summertime. Cooling off that building should be no problem just like other locations.

I appreciate Planet Fitness for the hours, but I’ve kept my membership specifically to have access to the stairmaster and they never work. Two of the four machines have been out of service for over a month at this point and it’s frustrating to not be able to do what you drove over to the gym to do. I know this is a low cost gym, but when you’re barely ever able to do what you came in to the gym to do because the machines are always broken it starts to feel like a waste. I shouldn’t have to wait in line and compete with people to get to a machine.

The management and staff are absolutely amazing. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do; they’re always kind, helpful, and go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. The gym is super clean, and I’ve even seen the manager right alongside the team making sure everything stays spotless and sanitary.

I truly love working out here. Funny enough, I used to belong to a more “luxury” gym, but life happened and I had to adjust my budget. At first, I thought I was downgrading... but honestly, the only difference is the pool and sauna (which I barely used anyway). Planet Fitness gives me everything I need, and it’s been a total upgrade in terms of vibe, value, and positive energy.

I love this location of Planet Fitness! The employees are always sweet, nice, and attentive. I absolutely love that it is always clean and smells good (for a gym) here as well.
I have noticed that when equipment is broken or cushions are cracked they fix it in a timely manner and I really appreciate that. Sometimes it takes longer on certain machines but that’s a corporate issue not the location’s fault by any means.

Thinking of cancelling my membership. Was harassed by staff today at the Cumberland Mall location in Cobb County, GA. I finished a workout and sat in the black chair. I pay for a black card membership so that should be no problem for me to do. Sat in the chair at about 10:28 am and even set an alarm for 11:00am directly in front of a trainer that works for the gym. Before 10:45 I was told to get out the chair for sleeping. It makes no sense that I can sit in the same chair for 3/4 hours watching a movie, or doing homework, or whatever without being bothered but the moment I close my eyes and meditate there are people looking to have my membership cancelled. All I needed was 20-30 before leaving for work. And God forbid I express my voice or opinion on it (without cursing or raising my voice may I add) then I'll have security called on me. Just so y'all know, when you have members that get around in life via public transportation but still want to utilize the tool that is Planet Fitness to ensure that we can work on our physical health, and we work jobs for a living, you'll have a member or two that might need a power nap here and there. Not everyone has a car that they can nap in. Speak with that member and get to know them and their situations if possible. In my eyes it comes with the job and being a good fellow human being.

Friendly community and very nice location. Never felt unsafe which is a huge plus. Beware, it’s a small gym that is often crowded.

My main complaint is that, the stairmasters are often under maintenance due to the gym only have 4 of them & they’re constantly in use. Meanwhile there’s a row of ellipticals that no one use. I hope in the future they replace some of the ellipticals with stairmaster. Less wear and tear & more availability.

This is the cleanest and most well managed planet fitness I’ve ever been to. I used to be a truck driver, and I love planet fitness because I was able to stay active while I was on the road and also have access to clean showers. I’ve been to many locations all over the country, and the Cumberland Mall location is by far the nicest. The staff are friendly, approachable and the gym floor is always super clean and organized. I love this gym, the staff is friendly, the location is excellent and it's always clean.

However, recently there have been times when I arrived in the morning and it's randomly closed with no explanation. This has happened at least 3 times, most recently on 3/31/25. SUPER inconvenient/annoying with no explanation or communication from the gym, especially when me and 20 - 30 other people arrive here at 5AM on weekdays. At least let us know via the app or email what's going on.

Edit: This has now happened AGAIN on 4/6/25. I don't even know who the manager is. Please do better.

What I love about Planet Fitness - Cumberland Mall location: Sarah at the front desk - she is upbeat, genuine, and super helpful (when any problem is reported, she makes sure it’s resolved thoroughly)! The equipment, restrooms, and workout areas are cleaned regularly. The machines function - if any one is down, a sign is posted, and repair is executed in timely manner. I love that anyone really can exercise here in a judgment-free zone! My one super-minor feedback note - add another set of dumbbells to workout area where members go to stretch/do abs.

The layout of this gym sucks. The treadmills are right up against the glass near the parking lot, But facing the other direction. On multiple occasions, there have been men taking pictures of women from behind on the treadmill through the glass. The employees seemed a bit nonchalant about the situation overall- “we alerted mall security so we did our part.” When I called to follow up with security, apparently more than one creep has done this. I will only be satisfied and update my review if they changed the layout so peoples ass aren’t right up against the glass when they’re on the treadmill/stairmaster.

Very poor customer service. Recently when in the area for a work trip, decided to stop by the club due to proximity. While the website claims you receive one free day pass with valid ID i was refused this service due to not wanting to download the app. ( i have app downloads disabled on my phone for productivity purposes) I went on to buy the day pass for $10 as i was in a rush and just wanted to get my workout in. Not even three minutes later i was stopped and told to remove my standard sized backup carrying my water bottle and lifting equipment for it being “too large” Will not be retuning.

The staff are really nice, but the gym is very small, so most of the time it's not possible for me to do my full workout.

More importantly though, the machines seem older, and as a consequence are a weird size. The PF I'm used to going to out of state have machines that fit the average-sized person, but all the machines here seem like they're only designed for large tall men. I'm not a tiny person (I'm average sized), but I physically cannot use the machines safely, especially the leg ones, because I cannot safely reach the the pads where your ankles go while maintaining safe and correct form for my knees and back. Again, I'm not a tiny short person, I'm just a regular sized person who can't seem to workout here. It's a shame, and this gym really could use an update because all the newer PF that are built have machines that do fit the typical person.

I called this am to speak with someone. I spoke with Stone at smyrna GA location who placed the phone down to talk to his manager and I hear the entire conversation. He was telling them I pissed him off and I was being aggressive etc. I hung up and called back and I was told that he couldnt waste his managers time on this. I asked who the manager was and he refused to tell me. I also told him I heard everything he said and I apologized if he felt that I was aggressive but that I have autism and I can come off as high energy and he kept being rude and refusing to let me speak to anyone else. Told me he didn’t need my fake apology. I only wanted to know who not to speak to when calling back later. This experience was wild. Someone needs to look into this behavior and this situation. The ADA does not take kindly to these kinds of situations and they can quickly turn into a legal matter. After I explained I have a disability he kept being rude and telling me he didnt care and this was a waste of his time etc. I have notified corporate of this and will continue to reach out about this issue. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and I will not allow this to go un addressed. None of the managers he was speaking with agreed to get on the phone or step in. This call was made on 9/12/24 at 11 am. I do not know the manger on duty but I’m sure Corp can find out. This will NOT be the last you hear from me about this. Also, SIDE NOTE TO CANCEL: Switch your club to a club that lets you cancel in the app or online. I used Whittaker CA. Easy cancellation online after switching clubs. Which is also WILD that the home club was aware there are other ways to cancel but refused to help me. I am out of state (no club within 3-4 hours drive) and heading out of the country so I was in no way trying to be difficult.

Regardless of what you dont realize you sign up for, this rule about being treated as if you're not a member just because you don't have a secondary payment on file is ridiculous.

But they basically said I can't come in unless I had the secondary payment, even though I didn't have my wallet with me.

Mind you, I have never missed a payment. So there's no reason you should be barring loyal members this way.

I had to cancel because it was kind of messed up to be told in front of people you can't be let in. Like I didn't have the right to be there. They were happy to let me go as well which means the people there have bad attitudes or planet fitness doesn't pay them enough to care so at least they get a little power trip over it.

I travel for work. I decided to get the black card because it's convenient. I visited quite a few plantnet fitness and this one by far the worst gym I've been to. When I walked in 1a.m the temperature was hot. The smell was horrible. It smelt like dirty mop water. Women locker room showers (only 1 shower work no hot water)toilets,sinks floors dirty. I've been coming to this specific location for about two years, and have never had an issue... until today. I arrived like I usually do and sign in through the app by scanning my QR code like everyday, the girl behind the counter politely said: "you're good". I thank her and start my workout.

I'm working out for about thirty minutes when suddenly a very abrupt hand starts waving in my face. Yes, I had headphones in, but I was busy working out... what is so urgent for you to interrupt me in the middle of a workout to possibly cause injury? I look up and it's whom I'm assuming is the manager(?). I take my headphones off and he says loud enough for people to turn their heads and look at us and says: "you know you have an outstanding balance right? Come here."

He then walks me back to the front desk where the girl who initially let me through with no hassle says: "you have an outstanding balance with us and we can't let you workout until it's paid... I was going to tell you after your workout, but now that you're here." Then, she gestures to the computer.

Excuse me, what? First of all, if someone has an outstanding balance with your company, wouldn't you tell them prior to letting them use your facilities? Not to mention, I was given no heads up. My bank account has proof that payment has gone through every month since January 2024 and beyond. When I log in to the app, I do not get a notification of a balance?

So, I ask.. "what is the outstanding balance?" she says "$154. You have to pay that now." I ask "I've never been notified of this before now, can you tell me what the balance is for?" Her: "No, I can't." What do you mean no? Is it for unpaid months I'm not aware of, late fees, what? The exchange is making me uncomfortable, so I say: "Well, then, can I just close out my account, because I'm not paying for something I have no idea for what I'm paying for..." Her: "No, it can't be closed until you pay the $154 balance."

What. Balance. Are. You. Talking. About.

Anyway, it was a very weird, awkward, poorly trained, interaction and all I'm asking is for a bit better customer service than that. I love Planet Fitness; it's cheap, beginner friendly, and a safe environment over all.

I just found this exchange very odd. I didn't argue with her or cause a scene because no one deserves that, but I did just turn around and walk out without paying said balance.

I'm not going to declare I'll never show go there again because I do like PF, but I do think this needs addressing and better training.

The manager will follow you around to ensure that you are following the “rules”. He is very rude and takes his role very seriously but forgets a couple key elements of customer service. While he is ensuring that you don’t have a backpack on the gym floor, the men’s locker room is always disgusting, paper towel machines are broke, hand dryer is broke, black card spa is always down and the workout machines are disgusting. I travel with work and this is the worst Planet Fitness in Georgia. He might want to get off his pedestal behind the service desk and clean up this establishment.

I’ve been a member of gyms for forty years
( I’m in my seventies ) but this gym is by far the best I’ve ever been a member of !! Kudos to the manager and entire staff !!

I enjoy the fact that it's the closest location to my residence. The staff is friendly. It's next to the mall so some days I can multi-task with exercising and relaxing. The location is clean and I haven't noticed many machines out of order.

Tried this location today due to my home planet fitness being under renovation and loved it! Due to the insane amount of equipment they put into a pretty small building it can feel a little cramped in there but it's clean and had everything I wanted. Friendly staff as well :)

This is easily the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to. The staff are amazing, friendly and engaged. The gym is spacious, has all the equipment I could need and I love the perks of the black card membership- I use the hydromassage & tanning beds regularly. 10/10!!

Front desk staff are RUDE & the manager watches then will harass you. This isn’t my first incident too, my friend cancelled his membership because of the staff also. It seems they have people post fake reviews to deter you from seeing any review on how that manager acts. He also doesn’t address the issue instead, he makes it worse. Avoid this location unless they hire new people. I’ll be waiting to see what action PF corporate takes.

Went to this gym for 3-4 weeks and left. Not enough machines for the amount of people that go. Locker room and restroom need a renovation. The gym is to small and cramped especially during 5-8 PM but for 10 dollars a month it gets the job done.
