joined this gym 5 days ago and been nothing but a night mare . they messed our accounts up and said they would fix them then didnt. also today went in to get a refund and the assistant manager said i threaten him and called the law and had me trust passed. when i asked the cops how do i get my refund then he said take them to court . Im gonna give them a few days to reach out to me and make this right or i will post the videos i recorded of there assistant manager lying to cops and on me he got mad when i called him out and showed him the video of what he called me a liar about . i would not recommend this place to any one at all ever . this is the Dalton ga location where i been told the managers name is Jessica or Diana or logan who knows at this point. And by the way to other employees were there and would be my witness .

As mentioned in other review, they don't care about their customers. I've already reached out to the staff and managment and about a very serious issue in their gym. The ownership knows about the issue as well. I also took the ownership's advice and wrote to the social media website. When this Planet Fitness replies to a one-star review, like this one, it is just a run around gimmick that they use to try to persuade perspective members that they "really do care" about their members. Trust me they don't care. They just want your recurring monthly membership dues, and they would be very happy if you didn't show up. Heck, if everyone who signed up actually showed up......the place would be way overcrowded, lol!!! Hence, there is a reason they intentionally make it uncomfortable for their members. I'm not the only one who has mentioned this about planet fitness. The reviews are peppered with concerns just like mine. Please don't waste your money on this place. Personally I would rather pay double and support a local gym- one that actually wants me to work out and cares about the legitimate concerns of their patrons.

4 stars only because it's not open 24/7 Fri, Sat, & Sun. Otherwise, the gym has all the equipment you need to workout. It's clean and organized. Customer service has extra attachments, bar pads, etc behind the counter, just ask. My only advice is if you don't want to wait on machines, don't go between 5:00-7:30pm M-F!

I can't go anymore because they aren't open 24 hrs . I work crazy shifts and the only times I can go, they are closed. Otherwise I would get another membership. I know others that had to move because they are closing earlier on some days. Really wish it was 24/7. But if they need to close early on 3 days a week, WHY on the weekends? That's absurd.

IF I COULD PUT ZERO STARS I WOULD. Worst customer service ever. Talked with all the managers and didn't want to help with anything, they really could care less about their members. I WOULD REALLY RECOMMEND ANOTHER GYM. Also be sure you cancel your membership. Even if the employee said it was canceled, ask for proof of cancelation. THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!

They do not care about there customers! Will never go back or recommend it to any one. I’d rather pay double and support a local gym than go here. Spent a lot of time and money on this gym and when an issue happened management couldn’t care less. Took me a week to get in contact with the manager after going in person once a day and calling them twice a day. However, when I wrote a negative review I was called multiple times a day by a manager for a whole week to take down my review and redo a survey rating them higher. You’re out of your mind.

Been a member for almost 1 year. Yesterday 2/20/25 as I entered the gym I was carrying my backpack that had all my gym equipment but most importantly my epiPen. The shift manager told me I had to put my bag in the locker. I explained to him why I wasn’t going to do that and he told me to basically leave at that point. So that’s what I did. Today I will be going to cancel my membership and joining a gym that allows you to carry a backpack with you as you workout. I would understand this new policy if people were leaving there bags in walkways but I have personally never seen that being the case. Seems like they keep making rules for the people who are there to actually workout while catering to the people that sing and dance in the walkways creating uncomfortableness for everyone around.

Best Tanning rates in the area. Fully equipped gym. Only at peak times will it be difficult to get the machine you want. Never a shortage of cardio equipment.

Jessica is almost always there; she's great. Robin will greet you with a smile, too. I have yet to learn all their names, but they've cut down on the employees with RBF (Resting *Bummed-out* Face). Friendly Staff.

There is a place in the app that helps you learn the different ways their machines work but the staff is also

Please read your contract before you pay for this gym. They do not want you to cancel so they make it super inconvenient for you be able to. You have to take the time to come in person or mail a request. I signed up online which was easy but nope can't cancel through the app. They claim they can't verify its you but every other company can. They need to up there customer service with being able to cancel. Care about there customers time. I finally canceled but with headache I had doing it I will never go back.

They charge u more than they say. Even the guy working said that’s how they get u because most people won’t read every single word in the contract. I was late on my payment so I was gonna pay the 15.00 late fee (which is high for a late fee) but then I open my app and apparently they wanted me to pay the yearly fee as well. I’ve not even had my membership for 2 months. I went to the location to cancel but they couldn’t cancel without a manger unless I pay over 80.00. Not happening

Update 04-16-2024 5 stars
PF has, relatively recently, replaced many of their machines with newer/nicer models. A lot more of their cardio equipment has individual TVs now.

Everything is well maintained and clean. I seldom see anything taken out of service for more than a day. Locker room and restroom are both clean and consistently stocked.

It's worth mentioning that within days of my last update nearly all of my complaints about facility maintenance were addressed. I haven't noticed any of those problems recurring since.

Overall, PF Dalton has improved and they are successfully keeping the improvements.

Update 02-08-2022: 3 stars
It seems that my local Planet Fitness may be struggling with the constraints imposed by our pandemicalypse. Keeping that in mind, I feel I'm being generous in only lowering my review by one star. Most of the review is merely FYI, the cleanliness and maintenance is what cost them a star.

Consumables restocking is a bit unreliable, especially soaps. The men's showers have been out for about a week and some of the disinfectant/towel stations around the gym have no disinfectant for cleaning the equipment.

Staff interaction is still great; they're helpful, friendly, and accessible.

Equipment has been staying "out of order" for long periods. This could easily be outside of their control, though. Supply chain shortages etc etc.

Facility maintenance, on the other hand, is not so easily forgivable. Shower heads clogged, especially the overhead heads. One of the heads in the handicap shower is missing entirely. Water temperature can be a bit unpredictable. The water pressure in two of the men's shower stalls is low enough that when someone is in the one unaffected stall, the other two take considerably more time to rinse off soap. I don't think I can overstate how bad this problem is for members. The plumbing desperately needs repairs at the very least.

Then there's the cleaning. The air dryer in the men's locker room can get pretty dirty for several consecutive days. The men's showers stay dirty for days. The floors can get pretty soiled before someone gets to clean them. The toilets and sinks have been pretty clean every time I've used them. Overall, this is more of a nuisance than anything, but it should be an easy one to resolve.

Hopefully they'll get things sorted out before anything severe enough to cost them members comes up.

I was quite pleased with this stop, picking up a half hour on their "30 minute workout" and then a great shower. The equipment all worked well (though one dude needs to be reminded to wipe down) and then a shower after was great.

Wish they had a little stronger, 12 minute tanning beds, but definitely not a deal breaker, or the main reason I go.

I love this Gym. However, I wish people would get off their phones or the equipment while on their phones. People come to workout and try and get that workout in on their lunch break and it's hard when people are just sitting and Texting. There has been a few times where bathroom's aren't stocked and paper towels aren't stocked but, that's understandable with so many using the gym. It happens. I really Wish ya'll would fix the equipment that needs to be fixed and possibly remove some of the treadmill's and replace them with more stairs that would be very beneficial . But everyone has always been nice and respectful, never any issues . I am only giving the four stars because we could really use more stairs and less of the treadmills that just sit and people are always waiting on the stairs. Just my opinion but other wise great place.

My wife went to cancel membership and two young men told her they were both cancelled had her sign two different documents and didnt actually cancel both states since my husbands was out of calhoun had to go there. Mind you was told multiple times these were cxld . Called and customer services states cant refund because its calhoun but after I waited on hold my whole lunch hour to have them call dwn there and explain the situation I was hung up on. Customer service doesnt have to be this bad . and a refund for your employees mistake isnt to much to ask. I am in customer service!
