The gym floor is clean and machine look somewhat clean, probably cause gym goers clean it themselves. HOWEVER, the restrooms are so nasty. I don’t think there’s been a day it’s been cleaned fully in the last 6 months. The sinks have junk stink the cracks and nooks of the bathroom sink. The wall paper is falling off and the floors, stalls, walls all have dirty stains all over.

The staff also seems like they don’t even wanna be there.

See my previous 5 star review below, posted a year or so ago. Now… 2 stars at best. It’s just dirty! Hair and dust on the floors. Serious dust and grime on equipment. What happened? Guys, I’ll bring the swiffer and a mop if you need it! Broken and torn pleather on machines. It just looks so run down and apparently current staff doesn’t seem to care. I left after 15 minutes. Will drive a little further to the other facility.

Awful customer service. God forbid you need actual help from the staff here. I called in to the gym because I needed help with billing and was told to call the home club listed on my account by online technical support. Melissa, the unkind lady who answered the phone, could not help me at all, and didn’t even seem to understand how billing worked. She said I needed to call back during a weekday from 9-5, so I could get real help, but unfortunately, I have a job and cannot call during “regular business hours” (24 hour gym btw). As much as PF says it has “no commitments” and you can “cancel anytime,” it is all a lie because the second I try to cancel my membership (I bought a house in another city and can no longer attend the gym), they try to charge me an annual fee for the upcoming year. Definitely shady business tactics, and no helpful customer service whatsoever.

I liked that there were a variety of facilities available at an affordable price.
I especially enjoyed the hydro massage—it was my first time trying it, and it had a different kind of relaxing effect compared to regular massage chairs. It was perfect to use after a workout.

I wanted to shout out a worker at the Duluth location- Don! I go a few times a week to workout here and he’s almost always there to greet me and others with a smile. Incredible staff here! This location never seems to be too busy, I have really high social anxiety so this location is perfect for someone like me. All the staff members have been nothing but extremely welcoming and warm.
My only real complaint is that I wish the equipment was more updated. I also go to the lawrenceville location and their equipment is just a little bit newer but way busier (I assume why their equipment is newer)

However the equipment here is still great and I am able to still get in a really good workout! Again the entire staff have been outstanding and as someone who manages multiple businesses customer service is something I always take high interest in which this location delivers.
It’s always clean, friendly, and a good time here.

Now, the equipment is good. The new leg press equipment is dope. Decent environment. Most of the members are good. However, my complaint goes with the staff. Dom the general manager, Dom, who, number one, canceled my membership only because I left an honest five-star review. And in the midst of the conversation of why I left a review (a conversation he wanted to have by the way while I am clearly on the treadmill getting a workout) well, I thought we were having a conversation, he got defensive and tells me, while I'm on a treadmill, that he canceled my membership. Then I asked him why he canceled my membership? He could not give me a decent answer. Of course, that led to an argument in front of everybody. And then the police was called. Why? Because he did not know how to handle conflict with a Planet Fitness member who respectfully will not be treated with abuse of power (management privilege) and cancel a membership I paid for, for no honest reason nor integrity. I never disrespected him in the middle of our conversation, I did not disrespect him, the staff, nor any member that led to the canceled membership. Dom, simply couldn't take constructive feedback on how that specific Planet Fitness is doing well and where they could be doing better. That's not a way to run a Multi-million if not billion dollar business last I checked.
Number two, let's talk about Chris from the front desk. It seems Dom hires people he gets along with other than work ethic. He helped me get my membership transferred to this location (deeply regret but Chris was helpful in doing that so good job for that) with that being said, In my professional opinion, the staff are the first people you see or interact with when walking inside the gym so it matters who you hire. When it comes down to him, it seems like he doesn't care about his job (which is fine, who always does but not when you cleaning the bathroom is big deal to you keeping members from using a clean and healthy bathroom/shower) Not only that, he seems to always be half asleep. Not only that, it seems like you have to pinch the guy to do any kind of work. How do I know? Wet floor signs that linger for days after having moped, I use the showers every day, I'm in the bathroom every day and probably see it clean maybe twice a week. And when he does a good job, I'll tell him and the staff to keep it up and good job. But whenever you tell them to do better, they don't even make it a welcoming environment/space for you to give them constructive feedback. So what is my point? I believe all these reviews are only because the staff do this thing where they like to be cool with you just so you can leave a good review and he on their good side. But if anybody gives them any kind of constructive feedback, they'll turn on you and make it an unwelcoming environment for you, like turning on the lunk alarm. After this and this experience, not only am I never returning to a Planet Fitness. Because that is not how you treat a paying member by canceling his membership because his not your 'buddy' but a man answering your question on how I feel about the gym you manage (I never asked for that survey email to be sent to me lol so I gave an honest answer) The staff was treated with nothing but respect. As a daily 7 day a week member, the whole staff Night and day shift is known by name. There's also Ali, front desk, There's also Sean at the front desk, There's also Julius at the front desk on Saturdays, etc.
As a business, you should take constructive feedback or criticism and do better. That's how businesses improve. But this is not a manager that knows management or how to manage based on objective cues picked up and his way of dealing with conflict or disagreemens. And my background in management shouldn't even matter. to have power over me because I leave you constructive feedback. Other than that, it's a decent gym. They have good equipment. They actually have new equipment that I thought was pretty good. However, Dom doesnt make it a welcoming environment for anybody who is not his 'buddy'.

I’ve been coming here for the last 3 years or so and it’s a good gym. Has everything I use. I just wish they would include a stair master. The issue I have is this stupid teens between the ages of 14-19 get to workout for free for the summer…. Very inconvenient for the members paying. The gym is full, and it’s a small gym. Overly crowded now.

Update:
The teens are still there 🙃🙃🙃.
NOW, are we not going to get these equipments repaired in a timely fashion?
There’s barely any room for the amount of people that come in and take up space, but now there’s equipment that are broken and I don’t see any urgency in getting it repaired. It’s going down hill.

It’s a very good PF facility overall. Perfect for people without a home gym. A few members do not clean the equipment after use. Edit: 8/20/24. Hopefully this is the last edit. Cleaning has gotten much better and more involved by everyone including management. I can now fully recommend 5 stars at this location.

Edit: The staff is still cleaning but definitely not effectively. The base of workout machines are still surrounded by large dust balls. It’s so obvious that it’s surprising they are never vacuumed.

Edit: In the past two weeks I’ve noticed the staff cleaning much more and the fan that was broken for 3 months is now repaired. Therefore, it is only fair that I change my previous review from 2 stars to 4 stars. I still can’t give 5 stars because I’m waiting to see the new trend last for much longer than 2 weeks.

Previous: I would definitely consider making a different Planet Fitness your home gym if you can. This has been my home gym for 2 years. However, since the previous general manager left about 2 months ago, this gym has gotten much dirtier. Other than maybe the bathrooms, it no longer gets cleans. I remember when the previous general manager use to vacuum every morning during his shift. Now, the equipment stays covered in dust, the floors surrounding the equipment remains dirty, items left by clients (such as water bottles or used paper towels) stays in the same areas for days, and even the main floor area has the same dirt and pieces of torn used paper towel on it for days. I’ve reported these findings to the new general manager a couple weeks ago and there has been no change to the cleanliness standards. This place needs a good vacuum and needs to implement cleanliness checks for the employees. Additionally, the overhead fan in the stair climber area has been out for 3 months and there has been no communication to the club regarding when or if it’ll ever get fixed. If you’re ok with a dirty gym by all means choose this one. Unfortunately, because I’m a Black card member and this is the most convenient gym for me it’s what I choose to continue putting up with for the time being.

To Management/CEO still No changes.Never see anyone cleaning but see staff talking at the front and don’t greet customers. And to be fair Dear customers alot of yal women are nasty and beyond inconsiderate its not only the responsibility of staff to keep the locker room clean (which they DO NOT)but customers as well. I have two different memberships due to scheduling however I always see the ladies at LA Fitness cleaning and the locker rooms don’t look like these even when staff is not available. I’ve always loved coming to this location but recently it has gone downhill. Since the gentleman that worked the morning shift left the place is gross. He used to wipe down the equipment and vacuum the floor and make sure the place was clean. Now they have dirty floors, the equipment is dusty and dirty, and the bathrooms are filthy. Attendants are always wandering around instead of assisting at the front desk. The shower stalls are large but the locker room is so disgusting I didn’t want to use it.

The lockers are mini and there aren’t any that are full sized. The whole facility stinks.

There are few cleaning stations and the facility doesn’t have the exercise interval section with the equipment and timer.

Time for this location to level up.

My wife and I have been coming here for over 3 years. We have both only had positive experiences. There are enough weights/strength machines to get a good workout. Tons of cardio equipment. Is it a Gold's gym? Absolutely not! Is it a crossfit box? No. If that is what you are looking for they are around. If however you are looking for a place to increase your strength, cardio, and general health and wellness everything you need is here.
On top of that the staff is very friendly. Cyrus, the manager, is always available with help, advice or just to hold a friendly chat. I constantly see them cleaning/disinfecting equipment. They have also been very responsive to suggestions for improvement.

I get a good workout, talk with a few friends I have made there and overall have a great time.

It's embarrassing that whoever runs this account will respond to hippy-dippy marketing 5-star reviews, but won't dare address the reviews pointing out ZERO CLEANING IS DONE BY THE EMPLOYEES.

Half the paper towel dispinsers are empty. The men's bathroom has not been cleaned in months. Whoever is running this gym: I am coming for your job.

The experience this morning at this gym was the worst! I’ve a Planet fitness membership and my friend has a Black Card membership. This morning like ever other morning for the last two months I’ve been goin with my friend with the black card membership. We enter the gym, she swipes her card at the front desk and I give them my phone number which was entered into there system by a planet fitness employee. This morning, there was a unfamiliar person working an a familiar employee there. The unfamiliar guy said he couldn’t find my number in the system, and I said this has never happened before. He began telling me the number wasn’t showing up and proceeded to tell me he was the owner/manager. He called the police on me, which was unnecessary and made a scene once they came in, the other employee stated he found my info, but the employee who put the info in the system put one number in wrong. I was followed by the police to my locker an escorted out. I wouldn’t recommend no one to this facility that’s racially motivated by the manager. There slogan is fake, and it is a JUDGEMENT based zone!🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾
