My husband and I are currently homeless, and we relied on Planet Fitness solely as a place to shower and maintain basic hygiene. The manager at this location was fully aware of our situation. Unfortunately, I experienced repeated subtle but clear racial bias from her, and when I respectfully called it out, she retaliated by making false claims against me—ultimately flipping the narrative and accusing me of inappropriate behavior.

As a result, my membership was terminated and I was banned from all Planet Fitness locations. This decision took away the only place we have access to showers, severely impacting our well-being and dignity.

What’s most upsetting is that this happened at a gym that claims to be a “judgment-free zone.” There was no fair investigation, and the manager’s misuse of authority—especially against someone in a vulnerable situation—was both discriminatory and cruel.

I hope Planet Fitness takes this seriously and reviews how such situations are handled, especially when it affects basic human needs.

If you’re looking for a large, clean area to work out… This is the place. An abundance of equipment makes your goal easily achievable. The only thing that can make my trip here easier for me would be if it were actually located on Whitemarsh or Wilmington Island but this location is still reasonably doable.

I recently visited the Planet Fitness on E. Victory Dr., and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Despite the small parking lot, the gym itself is spacious with plenty of equipment and room to work out in peace. The size of the gym really works in its favor — I never had to wait or share equipment, which is a huge plus. Another unexpected bonus was how cool the gym was inside, which made working out a lot more comfortable, especially considering how hot it can get in Florida. The staff were friendly, and the restrooms and locker rooms were clean. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time here, and that’s why I’m leaving this review!

Anyone know what time this Victory Drive location ACTUALLY opens??? It claims to open at 5am, yet here it is past 5:40am on Monday morn, and theres a bicycle chain on front door w no one here. Well, NO EMPLOYEES here to open the place, i should say. There ARE, in fact, SEVERAL PAYING CUSTOMERS looking at the gym equipment from the parking lot, unable to actually use it. And SEVERAL people have walked up, waited 5min, and left, all just over the last 45min + (when i arrived), which makes me wonder if this is a common occurence. Guess its time to find another gym.

I joined in May of 2024 & was told that the $59 charge was my annual fee.. because I explained my situation of only being here in the summer (may-August 1st).. staff member said okay that will be your annual fee. Was charged $10 in June and then another $59 in July.. talked to staff and they did absolutely nothing about it. Cancelled my membership because I already paid & was leaving + they said I had access until August 16th.. next day was charged ANOTHER $20??? Talked to staff again and they said “we don’t know why it charged you, probably a late fee”

A late fee of WHAT?? Told me they couldn’t refund me because they don’t do refunds and instead I have to reach out to corporation on there mess ups?

LITERALLY NEVER GOING TO ANOTHER PLANET FITNESS OR RECOMMENDING IT EVER. Worst experience with a gym I have ever had.

What a great place. For me as I work directly across the street from this location. After a long 12-14 hour shift I can go on Tues. Wednesday and Thursday nights (early Morning) and unwind and relax with the use of The hydro massage and a nice hot shower before going home. What a great price for 21 dollars a month it’s a no brainer for me. Great Job PF. The staff is always VERY HELPFUL THE FACILITY ID VERY CLEAN.

Very spacious gym.. I've used several different PFs as I travel for work. I was at this PF today because we visited Tybee Island for the weekend. If you are close to this PF definitely get in there.. it's one of the best I've seen.. new equipment.. big clean bathrooms .. plenty of cardio equipment.. I felt like a kid in a candy store

Don't get a membership at Planet Fitness anywhere! If you try and cancel your membership and go somewhere else, they still make you pay for another month of fees!! Roof leaks at this location. They have buckets on the floor for days after it rains, to catch the water coming through the roof. It always smells moldy, machines are always broken for weeks at a time.

(1) People don’t always wipe down their machines. I wish staff were a little more attentive to that and helped either correct people or keep things clean — either would make the experience that much more consistent.

(2) The “crowd meter” in the app isn’t very helpful. It’s always 1-3 out of 10, but sometimes feels like it’s much busier than a 3/10 would call for.

I've been to 4-5 planet fitness throughout life. This one is decent. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming . The bathrooms could use some love. There's always some kind of mess (tp on the floor, toilets unflushed with a mess inside). The tanning rooms have a smell that others I visited don't. I assume it's from people's tanning lotions/sweat and them not properly cleaning their bed after. The treadmills are not my favorite. They seem like the outdated ones my PF used almost 10 years ago in another city. I've been spoiled with OrangeTheory treadmills, though. Other than the treads, everything else is great. Love the broad selection of dumbells. I do wish there was one or 2 extra benches in that area. But the other gym goers are pretty respectful of letting you know when they're finished.The staff is pretty diligent at helping those who approach the desk. I've been to others where I'm lucky to even see one person at the desk.

The staff is very friendly but it doesn’t seem like they have set routines to keep the gym running like it should be ran for customers paying their money for a clean gym. Bags of trash everywhere for my full workout, 2 hours. 3 associates up front having a good time talking. Multiple pieces of equipment dirty, clinking, and or torn seats.
