Please don’t use this location. There is a guy who will booted your wheel and you have to Pay $500 to remove them. This is big scam, even I had parking pass from PF still I had to paid that amount because they are saying Parking is not belong to us. It’s belong to plaza owner.

BEST GYM IN THE ATL!
Im a truck driver and I constantly get harassed for my truck, so I try to work out in the odd hours. Mr. Anthony at the front desk was sooo kind and even placed a tag on my truck explaining that im only working out and they dont tow my tractor trailer. Facility is meticulously clean, PLENTY of machines and equipment, first PF I've been to in all of USA that's Grey instead of purple and with a strip of turf in the functional training area. Very good gym for truck drivers, especially OTR. PLEASE DO NOT PARK OVERNIGHT! DON'T RUIN IT FOR THE REST OF US!

This is to express my deep disappointment and frustration following my recent experience at the Planet Fitness location in Union City, GA (Shannon Square Plaza) on Monday, July 28, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM.
Upon entering the gym, I scanned my valid Black Card Membership, as I have done consistently since joining in 2021. I was promptly stopped by an employee named Matthew, who informed me that I would not be permitted to work out unless I added a backup credit card to my account. Surprised, I asked if I had an outstanding balance. He clearly responded that I had a $0.00 balance and that my account was in good standing. However, he insisted that access to the gym would be denied until I added a backup form of payment, stating it was a “requirement.”
To clarify, I asked, “So even though I’ve paid consistently since 2021, have no balance due, and have never had an issue at any other Planet Fitness location, I’m being denied entry because I don’t have a backup credit card on file?” Matthew replied, “Yes ma’am, that’s correct.” He even suggested that I cancel my membership if I didn’t want to comply, which I found incredibly dismissive and unprofessional, especially considering I’ve been a long-standing, loyal, and on-time paying member for over four years.
This experience was disheartening and confusing, especially given that my updated contract from June 2025 clearly states the following:
“IF you provide us with more than one method of payment, you authorize us to charge any amounts you may owe us... to any form of payment you have provided us until such time as you revoke your authorization...”
This language makes it clear that a backup method of payment is optional, not mandatory.
I left the gym frustrated and completely disregarded by a brand I have supported for years. Planet Fitness has promoted itself as a “Judgement Free Zone,” but my experience felt far from that. I was not only judged—I was denied the very service I’ve been faithfully paying for. I have never felt so dismissed by a business I have supported with unwavering loyalty. And never have I been encouraged to cancel a gym or planet fitness membership by their own employee all over a backup credit card.

This location has a high incidence of car break-ins due to the surrounding area, making it one I will avoid at all costs. My vehicle, along with at least ten others, was broken into within just 15 minutes of me being inside the gym—despite being parked right next to police surveillance. Clearly, the area is not being effectively monitored. To make matters worse, I now have to cover the cost of my broken window out of pocket.

Planet Fitness Jonesboro has made noticeable strides under the new leadership of the General Manager. You can definitely tell there’s been a shift for the better! The service and professionalism have gone from good to great, with employees always on point—greeting members, assisting with a smile, and keeping everything clean and organized throughout the gym.

The GM, she has been actively involved in every aspect, from cleaning and stocking to organizing and helping members with a friendly, engaging attitude. It’s clear that she leads by example, never too proud to get her hands dirty. This level of dedication creates a welcoming environment where you can feel the professionalism without it being said aloud—it's in the way they operate.

The improvements are noticeable not only in the service but also in the gym’s equipment. The recent renovation brought all-new equipment throughout the entire floor (I was shocked and had to look twice when I entered the gym,) including a new space with two Olympic weightlifting racks. The recent shift to 24/5 operating hours is a fantastic addition, allowing members to maintain a healthier work-life balance.

Thanks to the Jonesboro Planet Fitness team for creating such a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. I’m consistently impressed and will keep coming back!

My teen daughter has Activeandfit (free membership paid by insurance). I called before unreceived the letter. I was told that when I received the letter from activate and fit, to set up an account and then bring the letter in when I bring her. I started
to set up her membership online. It couldn’t be completed and I was prompted to go inside the gym. I then took her to the gym where the front desk agent told me that when I signed my daughter up, that was a “pay” account; so he had to convert it into her Activeandfit free membership. The next time I came in, the front desk guy told me that my daughter had a past due balance. I explained the membership. He told me that they don’t even have a teen membership except summer. He had no clue what was going on so he got the female worker to step up to tell me that I basically have to pay on a fee and late fee on an account that was never complete and supposedly “converted”. The front desk female worker, had a horrible attitude, insisted that I pay it, and walked away while I was trying to explain.

I switched my planet fitness location from Gainesville to union city , I’ve been coming to this location for a week now & I’ve seen people wearing a variety of clothing. Sport bras , tanks , crop tops , crocks , even Timberline boots !!! But today I go inside and they dress coded me saying my shirts were TOO short and I can’t come inside with crocs on! The staff here is very rude and unprofessional! They pick and choose who they want to let in this gym wearing what. I’ve canceled my membership before writing this review. I went to this location yesterday after much hesitation, but was pleasantly surprised. This is one of the more updated Planet Fitness locations, they have decreased the purple and yellow, and made it a lot more modern and less basic. From What I saw there was only one machine down, but everything else was working fine – everything was clean and in great condition. As I walked in and out, I was greeted so staff was friendly.

Don’t be put off by the location, give it a try. I typically go to a Planet Fitness in a “nicer” area and was a little nervous, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Just make sure to lock your doors & keep valuables out of plain sight (like you should anywhere).

Overall this is a good gym. I would give it a 4.5 rating. The staff here is always friendly. My one complaint is that people misuse the equipment and then we have to wait forever to get it fixed. I am excited for the update. I hope they add more stairmaster machines, update the ab machines and add the seated dip machine with the upgrade.

However, just my personal opinion. Maybe add another hip adductor machine and ab machine in the one room. I enjoyed the new Cryo Lounge.

Because this gym has done nothing to allow trucks to park here. In the middle of the night, some security guard comes and locks your wheels with some kind of lock and writes to pay him a fine of $500 and you can't leave and you can't even go to your favorite PF!🤯🤯

We are in the process of researching ownership for this particular location. Dear Planet Fitness Management, I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident that occurred on Sep 19th at approximately 4:24 PM at your Union City location. I visited the gym to resolve a balance on my newly opened account and, while inquiring about the late fee—given that my account is new—I witnessed highly unprofessional behavior from your employee, Jalen. During our conversation, Jalen was allowing his friends to enter the gym without scanning them in, stating that they were his friends and he could let in whoever he wanted for free. I could care less about that however This occurred while I was being told I had to pay a late fee and could not enter unless resolved, which raised concerns for me, considering my account is new When I questioned this, Jalen! escalated the situation by threatening me, saying, “Do you want to take it outside?”—inciting a potential physical altercation. Not only is this behavior extremely unprofessional, but it could have easily led to a violent encounter had I responded differently to his threat. I am deeply disappointed in how this situation was handled and troubled by the idea that such conduct is happening at your gym. Incidents like this create an unsafe environment for members and could disrupt the peace that is expected in an exercise space. I will be following up with management to address this matter, as I believe such behavior is not only unacceptable but detrimental to the community Planet Fitness serves. I parked in the front and my car was broken into my car and the one next to me. Honestly the story the worker provided at the time raised suspicions that he may have had something to do with the break-in’s.My heart and spirit as well as a raised eyebrow. The establishment did nothing. I told the worker to cancel my membership. I Was no longer being billed, therefore I assumed he cancelled my services. A couple months later, I started being billed again.

Staff is very unprofessional ,and inconsistent. There are always kids hanging around the service desk. I’ve personally seen staff pick in choose whom to let in without membership. The management team needs training on how to de-escalate customer issues and adhere to the customer and not staff. People come there to work out and not deal with the attitudes of staff. I can say that the assistant manager is very help and professional and should be running the location. Please consider other branches before making a choice.

Staff is extremely unprofessional. I am a black card member who brought someone with me today. First was told to sign some waiver giving my info because it is not my home gym, then told my guest could not use the hydromassage amenity. Staff rude. Will not go back or recommend anyone to visit this location.
