Went for the starter session and I really enjoyed it! I wish I would have gotten the instructors name ( blonde lady. She said she was from California) she’s was very sweet and very good at explaining the exercises. I really enjoyed it and will be signing up to attend Power up! I’m very excited!

Unbelievable policy. Cold blood and bad attitude. I’ve been to other places with very strict time policy but not with this attitude and lack of staff.. with no one at door door locked if you are 1 minute late

All the negative reviews are about the late policy, which is something I love about this studio. I did Club Pilates for a year and without fail, every class there was someone coming in late and instructors had to stop and fill them in. Life happens though, there’s traffic, an emergency etc., they give you a free pass and don’t charge you a late fee once every month or two. You also get to cancel up to 2 hrs before class, other studios require 12 hours so if something pops up you automatically get charged a late cancel fee.
The instructors are wonderful! They try really hard to remember names and faces and encourage you during class. While a lot of the classes may have all 12 people in it there are definitely times you can come in with just a couple others and get a much more tailored a class which has been so amazing. The flow is much more open than other studios. Each class will truly be unique. The instructors have more creative input that other studios that have an order or formula that has to be followed. It isn’t 100% classic Pilates but you definitely get a better workout! Melissa, Jess, Suzanne, Sharon and Lori really give some killer classes!
As much as I love the smaller classes and want them to stay that way, this place deserves the shout out. It’s a better workout, better price, more scheduling flexibility, great instructors, you just have to be on time.

Oh man I have some things to say. Until this place is turning away hundreds of people they are not in any position to be such a strict and unhelpful studio. Someone is one minute late? Too bad. And we are taking your money. They are trying to be elitist but don’t have the sense to make empowered decisions and rather than being helpful they will instead throw up their horrible policy’s and turn you away. Because they are getting your money anyway. In a time where there are literally hundreds of other choices … choose somewhere else. The owner also doesn’t respond to emails only google reviews because that is what the public sees. This place won’t be around that much longer… we are in a time where people aren’t spending and I promise you we won’t spend here. And neither will the dozens of people who I have shared the his experience with.

If you have a ridiculous “2 minutes late and you’re locked out!” clause in place, then ADJUST THE START TIME FOR SCHEDULED CLASSES. For example, instead of 12 PM start time, adjust it to 11:50 AM. It’s not that hard, especially when people aren’t clear about the location itself. Not many Pilates studios are located inside a random gym in a very consolidated and congested area. Even if the location wasn’t bizarre, life happens, and a 2 minute lock out will undoubtedly cause the studio to fail when literally every other studio in the vicinity has anywhere from a 7 to 10 minute grace period, depending on the instructor and how long foot-work (aka warm up) is. You can purchase unlimited monthly memberships with access to 3 different locations through Club Pilates, Naked Mind offers a one-month unlimited reformer membership for $75 (new members only, if you choose to continue membership then it’s $185 for unlimited classes), and I can go on and on because there’s a plethora of Pilates studios in and around the Atlanta area, all of which vary in pricing, but it’s no secret that Pilates is an expensive practice. I’m incredibly passionate about Pilates, so I invest more than money into it; my time, physical and emotional wellbeing are invested in Pilates and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve been to more studios than I care to recount, but there’s never, EVER been a studio with such a ridiculous stipulation in place (aka “2 minutes and you’re out”). You’re taking people’s money and time for TWO STUPID MINUTES. The worst part is not even having the common courtesy, decency, and/or metaphorical scrotum to answer the door and explain the stupid policy instead of standing behind the glass like you have the right to ignore paying customers without explanation. This place is a joke and I hope anyone who’s been burned by the experience doesn’t give up on trying and/or continuing to practice Pilates entirely; please know that you won’t be treated in such a rude, misguided and lazy manner anywhere else. Please do yourself a favor and forget about this dumpster-fire of a studio and find another one, literally ANY other studio in the Atlanta area and I have no doubt it’ll be a positive experience! ❤️😘

Absolutely love Power Up Pilates!
Instructors, comprehensive app/scheduling system, location (at the Halcyon inside the Forum Athletic Club, to the right when you enter), class times… I have nothing but good things to say!
Parking can be a little tricky at times, so I suggest arriving 15 minutes early just in case!
The plus side is the locker room access, including showers & a sauna!!!
Highly recommend calling & scheduling your free introductory session if you are new to Pilates or taking a class if you are looking for a new studio.
10 out of 10 recommend!

Pretty sure I’ve caught fungal infections in my HANDS from here. The first time I wasn’t sure but when I caught it again after just recovering from the first one it was pretty obvious. I’m an extremely clean person so there’s no other place I’d caught such thing. The equipment is usually clean but pretty sure the fabric loops that clients use in both feet and hands are not getting cleaned up at all or at least not enough. I’ve seen ladies using the toilet stalls while walking on their grip socks… It makes total sense they’re bringing all that public restroom nastyness to those fabric loops. I hope management comes up with a way of keeping those fabric loops clean, add some disinfecting sprays to the studio or something because the wipes clearly don’t work for those loops.

It has been long overdue to write a review for PowerUp Pilates! Thanks to the fantastic instructors and variety of challenging classes, I am addicted to pilates!
I started here because of a Halcyon's Ladies Night offer for an unlimited classes promo for 2 weeks. Then I won a free month, and then I was hooked for good! Now they have Johns Creek and Duluth open along with the Lift Yoga sister studios, and I cannot stress enough how clean, organized, and thorough everything and everyone has been.
Let me go through each instructor, for they are each so different and amazing.
Maribel: The sweetest human, and has me smiling the entire class through her humor, motivating words, and overall strength. My first ever class was with her, and I'm so grateful for that!!
Melissa: There is no wonder her classes are most often booked to full capacity. She really gives you a workout! During my first year, I stacked a sculpt and regular reformer class with her, and that was a mistake. She emphasizes on slowing everything down. She truly makes me feel important and seen, and I always love when I get to see her.
Sharon: You do not want to come unprepared to one of Sharon's classes. She is a tough cookie, and is the best instructor for cardio. You will be wide awake in the best way during her fast-paced class and most definitely afterwards. I am always sore after a class with Sharon!
Jess: I remember Jess was a new instructor at Halcyon, and she holds a special place in my heart for how funny and thorough she is. I love her food and other descriptions she gives to better help you adjust your form and get the most out of her workouts. There is a reason I choose to stack my classes with her. She is always open for suggestions, mixing it up, and joining in with the rest of the class!
Suzanne: I started with Suzanne when Halcyon had yoga classes on Sunday, and I love love Suzanne's joyful character and enthusiasm! She is a very focused instructor, and does not let you falter or feel left behind.
Megan M: she needs her own podcast because she has the most soothing voice. I also vote for her to be put back on the stretch & restore classes at Halcyon. She emphasizes how important stretching is and really puts some yoga blends throughout a pilates workout. I love it!
Alex C: a much younger instructor, and the few times I've gotten to be in her class, she offers a wonderful workout. Certain spots in my shoulders, triceps, and upper/inner thighs have been sore after like no other, and that told me she offered something different!
Michelle J: I wish I got to be in more classes with Michelle!! She offers so much wisdom, and you can tell she has been an instructor for a very long time. When they started offering monthly themed Friday night classes, she made the whole session so fun!

Just had the same experience as what is written below. Showed up at 7:02. Door locked. Teacher didn’t even bother to come talk to me. She just pointed at her watch and shook her head. I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully by a studio. I am in town trying them out and mistakingly bought a trial pack. I read on my online booking just now that they have this policy of locking the door. Shouldn’t you put that all over your website? It’s no where to be found. Only after you take my money, you tell me this. I teach Pilates reformer and would never treat my students like this. Things happen. I called an Uber at 6:32. It didn’t get to my house until 6:47. I showed up at 7:02. I now am seeing a late cancel (which is an additional charge to my account). What a joke and a scam! I’d like a refund.

Do not let all of the negative reviews fool you. If you are looking to try Pilates for the first time, this one is for you!!! This place has been awesome as a new ClassPass pilates customer! I am disappointed to see all of the negative reviews about this wonderful place. Late Policy Rules are in place to not only be a burden, but to not impede on other's experiences and instruction. You have to get there early to get set up and not be loud while others are trying to enjoy their 50 mins. This early time is to also instruct on the proper techniques of pilates prior to class and get to know the customers on a personal level. This is my first ever Pilates experience that made a long lasting impression on me. I am now a 3-4 day a week Pilates girl only at PowerUp. The instructors are awesome and the environment is so welcoming to a new girl that has never stepped foot on a reformer! I recommend this place to anyone! Melissa is my fave!!!

Though I warned about this place, I’ve been excited to join a Pilates studio so I scheduled a class for 12:00 on Saturday. I tried opening the door at 12:02 because I thought I had to check in at the front desk of the gym. The two women in the studio looked at the door while I knocked and refused to acknowledge me standing there… possibly because I was 2 minutes late? The one closest to me looked up and continued scrolling on her phone. There wasn’t a class in session either. Any business with such rude conduct does not deserve your money. Clearly not a welcoming environment who truly care about clients.

I have done 4 classes at PowerUp Pilates Halcyon so far and I love it! I have had 4 different instructors and they all are unique in their style so I get something new and beneficial from each one! It is non stop from the minute class begins until the end. I appreciate the promptness of the class starting on time as the warm up is always stressed as the most important for safety and instruction for new clients attending. Studio is clean, environment is inviting and the instructors are so nice and informative no matter what level of experience you have. Looking forward to many more classes here.

I started my pilates journey in July with the 2 week unlimited special at Power Up. I ended up falling in love with pilates and immediately signed up for the unlimited membership. Not only have I noticed amazing results within my body, but I gained a new circle of friends. The classes are tough, the instructors are amazing and very knowledgeable, and I never have a problem scheduling classes. Highly recommend choosing Power Up Pilates for your fitness journey!

I signed up for the PowerUp Pilates two-week promotional class package, and my first class at the Johns Creek location was great. The studio was easy to find, and the session itself was excellent.
Today, I decided to try the Halcyon location but was turned away because I arrived 2 minutes late. Unfortunately, their booking app and Google directions failed to mention that this studio is located within The Forum Athletic Club. After driving around for several minutes trying to locate it, I called, only to receive a message saying the Google subscriber was unavailable. When I finally found the spot and walked in at 11:02 for an 11:00 class, I was denied entry.
To make matters worse, I was charged a $10 no-show fee for a class that I drove 40 minutes to attend. Needless to say, I’m extremely disappointed with the experience.

The map directions were not clear which attributed to why I was 2 mins late. They don’t let you in even 2 mins late. Not my fault the address didn’t take me the right way to the studio where I lost my ClassPass credits and waste gas. They need to update that map directions so it’s clear where the studio is located.

I’m really disappointed with my experience at this studio. I was EXACTLY one minute late to class, and not only was I refused entry, but they also wouldn’t even mark my attendance so that I wouldn’t be charged for a no-show via ClassPass. I completely understand the importance of punctuality, but a bit of flexibility or a short grace period would go a long way. It’s frustrating to feel penalized for such a minor delay especially considering I had a 40 minute drive . To the studio owner, if you’re going to say you can’t allow people in due to safety hazard (which I find hard to believe) the least you could do is show some sort of customer service. Theres a lot of competing studios that are way more accommodating and friendly, take notes!

I’ve been coming to Power Up for about 9 months. I mainly attend Melissa’s classes and I can’t speak highly enough about Melissa’s teaching style. Here are some things I love about Melissa.
1) She gets to know all of her students. She is all about making connections.
2) She is so knowledge about Pilates and the body. Ask her a question and she’ll have the answer.
3)She engages with her students the entire class and always teaches us proper form. You’ll feel seen and you’ll learn how to do Pilates correctly-avoiding injury.
4)Her classes will kick your booty. She knows how to work each muscle to failure. We work out in a slow methodical way that’s challenging but easy to follow when you focus.
5) She hilarious, warm and caring.
I can go on and on. Power Up is my happy place and I feel so fortunate to have Melissa as my instructor.

I have been a PowerUp Pilates member for about a year and I attend Melissa’s classes 3-5 times a week! She is absolutely incredible and you will see results from her classes. She truly cares about all of her students and wants to see them improve and grow. You learn so much about your body and movement in her classes that you carry on throughout your day. I have also started attending Melissa’s yoga classes once a week which are also amazing! I definitely recommend taking her class and I’ll probably see you there!

I booked a class with this company on Wednesday. I was late by less than 10 minutes due to an accident. Upon arrival doors were locked and Melissa would not answer the phone when I called or come to the door to explain in person what was going on. Extremely unprofessional in my opinion and highly disappointed as my friend was in the class and explained to Melissa the situation ahead of time. My friend has taken this class before and was late by over 10 minutes and still able to attend. The lack of grace this company has for “certain individuals” while bending the rules for others is inappropriate.

If you’ve never done Pilates before, don’t worry, Marianne will make sure you are comfortable and will talk you through all the moves. & if you’re a Pilates pro, this class will be different from any Pilates class you’ve taken.
