I’ve read several of these reviews and I just had the same experience with the owner as they did. My daughter I went to use the pool and there was a hose running full blast into the pool. A woman swimming said it was really cold and she was disabled ( walking with a cane) so I tried to shut the water hose off and it wouldn’t turn so we took it out so the pool could warm up, she ended up getting out after we had gotten in and I asked her to please tell the owner or someone at the front desk about the cold water and the hose. She said she would. The owner came in and started getting mad and then scolded us, that we had no right to take the hose out of the pool. I was in shock a bit and asked to repeat himself and he started yelling at me. I was so upset, that either she forgot to tell him or what , but you don’t yell at your customers like that, over a water hose. He was so mad and then we were upset at being yelled at by him we decided to cancel our membership on the spot. At the front desk, I told him we wanted to cancel and I told him I had never been yelled at like that, he then started raising his voice again to me, in public, no apology “I’m sorry ma’am for yelling at you”. Nothing. Just started doing it again and then told me and my daughter to “just leave”. I think he has an anger problem and I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone either. As some of the reviews said the equipment is older and cobwebs, etc but I could put up with that but not to be yelled at by the owner. Very poor customer service.

Just signed up thru Silver and Fit program and I truly love this place better than the ymca and cheaper. I wish I knew about this last year! I did my first water aerobics today but have been using the excellent equipment the past 2 weeks. Wonderful all around!

I love that there is a womens' separate workout room to use if desired, a daycare for parents who have to bring kids, a good sprawl of machines, bikes and weights in a spacious facility, a pool and sauna, and a wonderful stretching device with instructions on how to stretch every part of your body.

I really do love everything about this gym and I mean everything I have had my fair share of issues though with the childcare from them losing my kid on a couple of occasions which they have added locks to the inside handle so kids can’t run away anymore and they’ve stopped taking over 14 kids at a time now which is good but I will say that they don’t hesitate to call and message you while you’re working out I’ve started leaving after the first text with one of the workers cause I know it’s not going to stop but I highly recommend for the most part

It's a great gym. There are plenty of machines, several cable stations with multiple options on each one, free weights, cardio equipment (their treadmills and ellipticals are great), a pool, basketball, and racquetball courts. The staff and other members are always nice. This place is way better than Gold's Gym.

Solid facility. Tons of bodybuilding stuff on the Lower floor, upper floor has a great bench area with about a half dozen racks, & a great cardio area with quality treadmills. Heavyweight room was great, but under remodel which I’m very excited for. Sauna and locker rooms are great. Have never used the pool, but my fiancé didn’t have any complaints and she used it semi regularly. Great price for such a comprehensive gym membership and locker rental is super cheap as well. Would love to see slightly longer hours. My only complaint would be they need more 2.5lb plates. I do lots of 5x5 work going up by 5lbs a week and for the life of me I can never find more than one at a time.

I walked into the Rock Fitness Center in Ringgold, Ga.. to ask questions thinking to maybe join. I had read the reviews and had no appointment. The owner, Tyler, was at the front desk just starting to eat his lunch. He was very courteous and got up and showed me around and then let me look into the womens' locker room and pool. When I came back to the desk I had more questions as to fees and best times, classes available. He answered every question, signed me up,made me a name tag, and gave me a printout. I especially was interested in the pool and he explained they were required to check it twice a day by state law. They had a separate womens' workout room and water and senior workout groups. Silver sneakers covered my fee and my friends would have a lower rate for age if their insurance did not cover. My first impression was really good and I will add another review after going for awhile. I am so happy this is closer to where I live and not as crowded as some other gyms! The previous negative reviews did not seem to be accurate at all!

I've had memberships at most Chattanooga area facilities in the last 20 years including Planet Fitness, The Sports Barn, Gold's Gym and Workout Anytime. I joined Rock recently and it has immediately become my favorite of them all. Why? All of the amenities offered at Rock. The indoor pool, indoor basketball court, racquetball courts are great features, the cardio equipment is excellent, and the variety of free weights and machines is impressive. Other plusses are spacious locker rooms, nice big shower stalls and roomy sauna. For my money, none of the local competitors can touch Rock. I spent 20 years looking for my perfect gym locally. I found it with Rock. Well worth my daily drive from East Ridge down to Boynton. The pretty location is yet another plus.

Very disappointed. Just moved to To the area. I am looking for Gym to join and visited on Sat on 12/30 at 10:20am “so you can check your camera if you are interested…” walked up to the front desk. The young man sitting at the desk was on TikTok, stood there, for a few minutes, would not acknowledge me. I asked if I could look around. He looked up only for a brief moment to say sure whatever you want…. Looked around just had a bad taste in my mouth from that when I went to leave She never even looked up to even see if I was leaving. Multiple members walked in while I was there never greeted them or even checked to see if they were actual members so if anyone wants to go for free, just go in you don’t need a membership. May just go there for free when I feel like it to use the sauna or something 🤷‍♂️

$30 a month to workout with crumbling equipment is not too good. They make up for it with the one Luke warm water dispenser by the pool so you can stay refreshed. My favorite part has to be the dust and rust particles falling into my mouth and eyes while I workout. They are like fun little snacks to chew on. ;)

Got a day pass to swim. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and the $8 fee for the pass was very reasonable. The locker room and facilities were exceptional. The pool room was pretty spare and bare bones. Lots of pool noodles and pool exercise equipment available. The pool is small at only 20 yards and only 4 lanes and no lane ropes, only the black lines on the bottom. The smaller pool and people exercising made it very choppy while lap swimming. The pool was very warm and lots of chlorine. The overall facility was excellent, a solid 5 stars, but the pool seemed to be a bit of an after thought.

Need to re-invest some of gheir earning into repairs and updates. There's a broken mirror for 3 years in the step aerobics room. The iron work over the pool looks rusty and unsafe. Wiring looks shabby in places. Staff at the front door aren't very attentive. But they offer a sauna, workout classes, racket ball, swim yoga classes, silver sneakers, law enforcement is free, showers, basketball court, large assortment of equipment...yada Yada ...

I've been going here about 2 months and I love it! It's a great gym, always clean, always looks like it's going to be crowded from the outside, but is never overcrowded when you walk in, which I love. We haven't been going as much since Tyler at the front desk was hired. He is always rude and judge mental. Now they have increased their price by $20 a month WITHOUT notice. They have out address, phone numbers, and emails but did not think to let us know. We used this gym because of the childcare but will be using the YMCA from now on.

I’ve been going here for about six months. It’s a few minutes from my house.

Pros; Clean and friendly environment, its perfect for people of any and all skill levels. If you’re just getting started, they’re helpful and you can feel free to ask others around you and receive help. OR if you’re in the zone and want to just pick up heavy stuff and put it down and be left alone, it’s good too! Overall one of the better gyms I’ve had the pleasure of going to.

Cons; Honestly, only one main con. I WISH they were 24 hours. I’ve always said that fitness isn’t a hobby, its a lifestyle. I’ve always worked shift work and used the gym as decompression after hard shifts, both previously in law enforcement and the military. It helps more than therapy in most instances. So not being able to have help fighting those demons when they hit late at night kinda sucks. BUT, I can understand and respect the business model there. I just feel with the cost, it could be justified to go to 24/7.

But that’s about it. Outstanding gym, has everything ya need, it isn’t staffed by pushy salesmen, rather I’ve had some awesome conversations with the staff, and the merchandise they do have is reasonably priced. I’ve enjoyed my time there and look forward to a future with them as my new hometown gym.

Unprofessional staff and the ower is a complete jerk. Too many self absorbed people hogging space, taking selfies, and groups of 5-6 people rotating though taking 30+min on a single piece. They have classes and kick you out of the area until it's over completely ruining your workout plans.

I enjoy working out here due to the fellowship but you can tell there is no real detailed daily cleaning regimen for the locker room or the fitness area. Water bottles, rags, food partickes/crumbs left in the same place for a few days at a time. Bathroom stalls could use some attention as well. The guy that opens in the mornings is great. Since this is a local company I hope they can make a turn before the decline is too far.

Tons of cardio and workout machines. Lots of free weights. Large individual showers, plus a sauna, pool, racketball court, basketball court. From 8:00AM to Noon, they offer childcare, as well as 4:00PM to 8:00PM, included with membership. Great deal if you need that.

The staff is friendly, and will show you around or answer any questions if you need. A minor inconvenience that there aren't any water fountains or refill stations, but c'mon people: everyone knows to bring their own water bottle to the gym. Let's be adults here.

There are few pieces of equipment that are kind of to the side that aren't in operating condition. My brother and I have been going every morning, M-F, and we've seen great improvements. Plus, being able to shower privately and go on straight to work is a major deciding factor for me in choosing a gym. We're doing month-to-month instead of an annual contract because he isn't going to be in town for a whole year. But, nevertheless, I have enjoyed Rock Fitness, and will continue to do so for the remainder of my available time to attend.

I do crossfit and Olympic weightlifting :

When I first joined the rock I was allowed to drop weight from overhead. Recently they changed this rule, and this didnt allow me to Olympic lift anymore. I decided to cancel my 1 year contract membership, but Rodney the owner was kind enough to not make me pay for the remainder of the year.

I never would of signed a 1 year contract if I knew the rules would of eventually been changed on me. Despite me having to cancel my membership and find another gym, the upper management worked with me and understood the situation. Just talk with these guys and be honest and they will work with you.

The staff at this gym is very unprofessional. Had a 1 year contract with The Rock Express and the contract ended plus The Rock Express shut down, but instead of not being charged anymore because our contract was up and the gym we had a contract through shut down they decided to transfer us to The Rock and continue to charge us. We caught it after 2 months and there was nothing they could do to help. They said they tried contacting everybody that had a number on file, which we did, and we received no phone call. I don't understand why you would transfer a contract that has ended to a different gym and continue to charge. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Best advice, don't go here!

I went to ask for my membership to be canceled and for a partial refund on the $45 they had taken out of my bank account just 2 days prior. The owner was extremely hateful and refused to sign my letter asking for my account to be terminated. I had told him I would be glad to cross out the wording about the refund and initial it but he refused to even accept my letter. This man was so hateful and screamed at me to "get out." I left immediately but decided to go back and I told him he knew nothing about how to treat customers. If I could give Rock Fitness a 0 I definitely would because of the owner.

It has been a few months now, and I cannot say that there is any problem with Rock Fitness. Equipment is functional and clean, the staff is polite, and I have yet to deal with any class-A jerks. My only complaints are that there is one bike that needs to be replaced (it creaks) and there doesn't seem to be a T-bar machine... in good time, I guess.

The most unprofessional group of people I have ever encountered at a gym. I slipped a disc at the first of the month. My dues of $25 were already paid and they wanted another $25 to put my account on hold and told me I had to do it in person. I was laid up and they still would not work with me. I canceled my contract, as is my right in GA having an injury lasting longer than 45 days. I would NOT reccomend dealing with this place.
