We believe that the most valuable and powerful lessons we teach your children are not limited to the skills on our posters, but include, what it means to focus and work hard to accomplish goals that sometimes things you can't imagine being able to achieve become easy when you put in the effortthat it is healthy and appropriate to experience fear or discomfort at the thought of doing something that feels risky, and that by responding to those fears by asking for help, taking it slow and in small steps, you can overcome those fears instead of giving up or quitting.

Poor communication and weak support for higher-level skill development. Equipment upgrades and recoverings should be done. Not a very clean or brightly lit atmosphere. Okay for lower levels, but not recommended if you're looking to progress.

So we'll organize, welcoming, and supportive. They put each child in their appropriate levels and are engaging. My daughter has been coming for 3-4 years now, been on their competitive team, performed at UGA's gymnastics meet and absolutely loves it!

My daughter LOVES this place and all of her teachers. She counts down the days until she goes back again. They have a great price for their programs, and we pay monthly, which is super helpful and convenient. They also have an open gym if you need extra time on the equipment, it's a very low cost. I highly recommend this gym!

Southern Gymnastics has truly been a game-changer for my daughter!** This is her second season here, and she absolutely loves it. Before last season, we were at a different gym, but we transferred to Southern Gymnastics to be closer to home. My daughter has been doing gymnastics for three years now (sheβs 5), and while she always enjoyed it, she wasnβt really passionate about itβshe would have fun when she went, but didnβt mind missing a class here or there.
That all changed within just three months of being at Southern Gymnastics. Now, she *loves* gymnastics and is sad if she has to miss a practice for any reason! The coaches here have been fantasticβshe's had three so far because she advanced twice during the season last year. Each coach has brought out the best in her, and I can see her skills and confidence growing with each session.
The staff at Southern Gymnastics is super friendly, and weβve never had any major issues since weβve been here. One of the things I love most about this gym is how they advance kids based on their skills rather than their age. This approach has really motivated my daughter to work hard and improve, and itβs been wonderful to see her progress.
I would definitely recommend Southern Gymnastics to anyone looking for a nurturing and motivating environment for their child. Weβre so happy to be a part of the SG family!

Expect to pay for an extra month AFTER unenrolling your child. I tried to contact a manager to discuss a better solution back in the very beginning of November, and no response was made. You can ONLY talk to someone if you show up personally, and even then, it's only a young assistant who just checks the kids in, not an assistant manager or someone who can provide a solution to the client.
Not a good way to treat the parents that take the children to the classes.

I donβt know how this place stays open for the lack of communication they have. I have been trying to reach someone to schedule a make up session since October. No return phone calls, no response to emails, no one is ever at the front desk when we go on Friday evenings. Beyond frustrating.

Despite the complete lack of communication previously, I received an email a few days ago stating that my daughter was ready to move up to the next level. The email exchange was with the owner. She and I exchanged several emails where she offered times and availability, answered a few of my questions (including whether not my other daughter would move up as well), and ultimately, we decided to move both girls into the Wednesday class available. The owner then confirmed, and my next question was whether not she would move into that class this week or next week.
I never got a response back. I called multiple times and got no answer, and then I emailed, and emailed again this evening to see if they should go tonight or next week. Someone finally responded around 5pm and said I should come tonight.
I scramble to get the kids ready and show up. My girls go into stretch with the coaches, and as they finish up warm-ups the coach rudely comes out and begins calling out names of children who are not on their roster. Two of which are my children. I try to explain that I have email confirmation and the coach snaps back with an attitude to tell me to go to the lobby to discuss with the girl up front and firmly closes the door.
When I get to the lobby I am about 3rd in line. I stand and wait WITH MY CHILDREN (who could have easily participated, as we are CURRENT CLIENTS) for almost an hour while I listen to each parent in front of me with almost the same problem. Other parents stood in the lobby to listen and said they had the same situation Monday with multiple parents who were supposed to be enrolled in classes and weren't.
The difference, however, is I did confirm with someone. Specifically, the owner. We did inquire about registration the last time we were in, and I do have email chains to prove my communication. When it is finally my turn, I speak with the girl at the front desk who first recognizes how I was spoken to by her coworker & apologizes.
She is very kind and VISIBLY overwhelmed. After several minutes of exchange, she finds the email chain and confirms that the owner has communicated with me about the class and says that she will go to the gym to talk with the coach about getting my girls into the class. She is gone quite some time, then comes back and tells me that the class is full with five, and that they, in fact, cannot go into the class.
She offers to send me into the next class since I have now missed the current one (for today only) but tells me that my other child cannot be a part of the class & has to enroll in another class option bc this one is full. Basically offering to accommodate one child, but not the other. Again, despite the confirmation with the owner about BOTH children moving up.
I'd also add, we came to this gym from another gym where my kids were enrolled together since they were each 3 and it was known from the beginning that I wanted them to be together.
Additionally, before this conspired, I was chatting with a lady in the lobby who had a child IN THE SAME CLASS, who had just enrolled for the first time, that day, immediately prior to this conspiring.
Meanwhile, several current customers who were either previously enrolled in THIS CLASS, or confirmed to be moved into this class like myself, were turned away.
As I talked with the girl at the desk SEVERAL parents, possibly 10 or more walked by saying that they'd had the same issues. No one answers the phone & there is no communication.
The girl at the desk apologized multiple times saying that she usually isn't at the desk over the summer and has to sort through hundreds of emails when she gets there. She was very kind.
My assumption is there probably wouldn't be that many emails if someone ever answered the phone.
So I am left with the option of NOT being a part of this gym, because once the email was confirmed I rearranged our ballet, tap, cheerleading, AND gym schedule (where, mind you, I was able to communicate with ALL of the other businesses effectively) FOR this next level class to help hone their skill levels.

We were so happy when our daughter made team at Southern. Unfortunately that joy and excitement did not last very long. By the time the meet season started, it was clear that all the girls were incredibly behind. Many of them, my daughter included, didnβt have the necessary skills to perform their routines. Scores were low and our team was almost always in last place. The coaches were inexperienced and put minimal effort in to training. They were always frustrated and placed the blame on the girls for not picking up skills immediately. Most of the time their attention was elsewhere while girls struggled to learn and perfect skill on their own and with minimal coaching. One of the coaches, Tabitha, was incredibly rude and unable to handle the pressures involved in managing a group of girls. Our daughter cried for a week after a short tempered incident with her and we have yet to receive an apology for her unacceptable behavior. We had no choice but to leave Southern and seek training at another gym where she could finally succeed. We suggest anyone interested in joining to do their research so they donβt waste valuable learning time and money.

The owner is too strict about the late fee. Invoice was sent out on the day when it's due, which is 9/1, a Sunday, it's also the Labor day weekend while we were out of town. I went to the office to pay in person today 9/5, trying to avoid the late fee, but no grace period even for first time offense. It's my responsibility to pay it on time, but just thought the owner should cut some slack for first time offense.

My review is based off administration & management. My daughter has taken classes here before & we like the teachers & the classes. We are still currently members (my dues are paid until the fall) but I feel I have no choice but to take my business elsewhere due to the difficulty administration has been giving me to get my daughter signed up for classes. I went online to sign my daughter back up for classes only to find that I no longer have access to the portal. So I email SG & I received no reply back. I also call several times (extremely hard to get a hold of which I knew from having taken classes previously) & when I am finally able to speak to the lady over administration she tells me that she will unlock my account so I can sign my daughter up for classes online. Great! I think. Well when I try to sign in I am still unable to. So the calls & frustration continue. I finally am close to the area & decide to talk to administration face to face to make sure my daughter gets signed up. Well the lady over administration is not there (as usual) but I talk to my daughters previous instructor. She tells me that I am still locked out of my account. Then we go over what class my daughter should take & she tells me she will let the lady know that I am looking to sign up my daughter & I watch her as she writes a note for the lady over administration with the class time our names/my phone number etc. on a pad that is on her desk. Great! I think. Well as of today I still have not received a phone call & I still do not have online access to my account. I feel I have no way to contact any sort of management to state my complaint or express my displeasure with the situation. I have been trying to get my daughter signed back up for gymnastics classes since the beginning of May. I have been trying to be patient because I really like the classes & I like that we are already familiar with the gym but I shouldn't have to run around with my head cut off to get my daughter back into gymnastics class. I feel disrespected by the lack of professionalism, responsiveness & communication on SG part & I can't take the disrespect any longer. It is clear that having me as a customer is not important to them.

This facility is falling apart, this was the main reason we left. AC died, huge leak and ceiling tiles falling, rotting floor, filthy floor that was never cleaned and usually had bugs of some variety (usually ants from spills) horrible smell of raw sewage constantly surrounding the building. Also, the way they move the children up levels is a bit chaotic. It's some sort of star system, they award stars once a month on techniques learned. Kids have to have a certain amount of stars to move up but not all techniques are taught every month and not all techniques are tested every month so you have a bunch of kids ready to move up, bored every week just waiting to be tested on a certain technique. This goes on for months. Lastly, coaches come and go. There is a huge turnover. My child had 5 different coaches.
