I can’t say enough good things about working with David Spitz! My husband and I started training with him after we were losing motivation to work out especially after I had recently given birth. From day one, David created customized routines to help me rebuild my strength post-pregnancy while making workouts fun and engaging for my husband as well.
One of the biggest game changers for us was being able to bring our baby along. Not only did it help us stay consistent, but David was so wonderful with our little one that he quickly became part coach, part trusted babysitter, and part friend.

I started training with David a few months prior to my wedding. My goal was to build muscle and lose 10 lbs. I worked out with David in his gym twice a week and at my apartment gym 2-3 times a week. He provided a meal plan and all the workouts to do on my own at home.
I've always been someone who put off working out. I definitely didn't have the knowledge of just walking into the gym and knowing what to do. David was the best trainer I could've asked for. He's personable, not pushy by any means, and is willing to help anyway he can whether you're in his gym or at home.
I committed to David's plan for me from the time I started with him all the way until my wedding. While I did hit a plateau with my weight, I just trusted the process and was happy to say I was down 10 lbs with noticeable differences in my body composition by the time my wedding came around. My wedding was 6 months ago and I've continued working out with him seeing big changes in the amount I'm lifting.

I started training and meal planning with David while I was 6 months pregnant. His approach catered to workouts while I was pregnant focusing on the exercises and movements that were safe and recommended all the way thru the end of my 3rd trimester and starting postpartum. He was also very attentive to what I needed from a food perspective ensuring that I was getting adequate nutrition throughout my pregnancy and throughout my 6 months of breastfeeding. October 2023 I decided I wanted to make a lifestyle change. At 6’0 320lbs, things like tying your shoes was a chore. I’ve done the yo-yo weight loss over the years and know how to put in the cardio effort and drop weight, but I knew to make a real change, I needed accountability, nutrition and weight lifting.
I started with Spitz fitness Nov 2023, and day one was not easy, and I’m not going to say it ever gets easy. What I will say is if you want results, I highly recommend working with David at Spitz Fitness. In just 10 months, I had lost 93Lbs and put on significant muscle during that time. I’m now able to do reps of 429 lb deadlift and a near 400 lb squats, proving that you can lose weight and get stronger at the same time!
David is a realist, while I had very lofty personal goals, he mentored and pushed me to keep working hard. He’s taught me safe practices that have kept me injury free for the past year! Most importantly when I need a week or a month to live life, have a cheat or traveling for business, he’s helped me make better decisions but not disappointed if i went overboard. If I'm on the road, he creates custom workouts in the app so i can work out at the hotel which is great!
Being honest with yourself and him, putting in the effort, tracking your foods and realizing cause and effect in personal choices, you will see excellent results.
Achieving your goals is possible, no matter how big they may seem. You can crush your goals and still enjoy the moments that matter most. If I did it, so can you! If you want the best chance at crushing those goals, David is your guy!

I reached out for David for personal fitness/hypertrophy goals. After 3 months, the progress is very visible. David is an amazing trainer, in the sense that he knows how to adjust the program according to my schedule and lifestyle, instead of forcing me to follow a program that would be difficult to fit into my lifestyle. Additionally, it seems that David genuinely cares about his clients and the progress his clients are making. David is an amazing trainer. This is the first time I’ve ever tried personal training and David has really helped me to get moving more, learn new things, and have a more regular fitness routine. I have been extremely satisfied with my experience at Spitz Fitness. David created a training and nutrition plan for me, helped me get on track with calories/macros, and provided encouragement when needed, both in and out of the gym. He was realistic about my training potential when I suffered an unrelated and unexpected injury, but he encouraged me to stay on track with nutrition (which paid off) and kept in frequent contact to gauge my readiness to return to the gym.
Before my time with Spitz Fitness, I’d never weight trained or focused on nutrition this intentionally. To say I hated lifting and the workouts when I started would be an understatement. But in my first 3 months, I lost more weight than I’ve ever lost before, and the progress photos were even more motivating. I’ve now been with Spitz Fitness a month and a half longer than I originally intended, just renewed for a second time, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

I'm a hybrid client at Spitz Fitness. I'm coached through the app (workouts, nutrition and cardio) with onsite 1-on-1 workouts with Spitz maybe once a month. Other than that fully remote.
The attention to detail is on another level. When he says he's going to get you to your goal and do it through a customized program for you, it's no lie.
When I came to Spitz I was no stranger to the gym... however I had hit a plateau... a plateau that I have hit multiple times before and just couldn't overcome (with other trainers and on my own...). I was yoyoing back and forth... when I failed I'd fall off and the start again... beyond frustrated... this was going to be my last attempt given the previous failures.
He was able to identify my previous mistakes, build a plan, and coach me to the goal we set. This wasn't some generic plan that was given to everyone....he listened to my limitations, what I liked doing, what I wanted to avoid, the equipment I had, previous injuries thst could flair up,etc. And built a program that has achieved the goals I wanted with no pain.. At no point have I felt like I was falling apart physically like I have with other trainers pushing to 110% 100% of the time. Now, it was hard there's no doubt about it. However, if you're willing to follow the plan, he's got you.

I've tried a ton of trainers in the past and this guy is the only one who has hit the goal we set in the timeline discussed (not my timeline but the timeline he set). He knows what he's doing! Trust his process and you'll be smiling ear to ear.
Great attitude, great personality, and the expert I had been looking for.
If you're looking for a trainer who can give you the roadmap and tools to achieve your goals I'd stop looking and give David Spitz / Spitz Fitness a shot. You won't regret it. With that being said, you have to do the work.

I’ve been work with David for 9 months on his powerlifting team. Throughout my time with him I have put a meaningful amount of weight on my training and competition total + gained a noticeable amount of lean mass.
David tailors his programming to each individual and works with his athletes to make appropriate adjustments based on feedback. He checks in with his athletes on a weekly basis to review form and gather feedback through Trainerize, an app in which you’ll get access to your program.
David is also personable, knowledgeable, humble and easy to get along with. He puts a lot of effort into continuing education and personal development which becomes apparent to most people who interact with him. For example, he shared his resource bank on nutrition (including recipes) with me free of charge and he has gone above and beyond for his other clients too.
He is also well regarded within the local PL community by other lifters, coaches, meet directors and gym owners. He has himself competed on a high level in gymnastics, bodybuilding and powerlifting. His knowledge of the sport, the science and the equipment is on par with that of some of the more well-known coaches. Therefore, David’s experience, knowledge and personality is what makes the the athlete-coach relationship one develops with him more real than what you get with most other online coaches in my opinion.
Also, if you happen to be native to Atlanta, GA, then you’ll have plenty of opportunities to interact with David in person, whether that is through PL team practice, meets or private 1-1 sessions all out of his private gym in Midtown.
Lastly, his rates are competitive to that of other coaches as you get, in my opinion, a premium service. You cannot go wrong with David.

Dave is an amazing Coach, he takes a very focused 1 on 1 approach, event in group or team settings. He has a strong knowledge base to personalize each clients needs, whether they are looking to get fit and healthy, or maximize their strength and conditioning for a particular sport. You could probably take all of his clients and pull a random name out of a hat, and he knows more or less down to the sentence their current training block, nutrition and any health or mobility issues to be aware of that he has already planned around. I cannot say enough good things about this place! I am a single mom of a special needs child that cannot go to the gym. I was able to have my own fitness program tailored to my needs and have had amazing results. I started at the end of August 2022 and by November had went from a size 13 to a size 6. I've gained muscle and am on the best shape of my life. As a 38 year old with diabetes and lupus, it made me feel so good that my trainer Landri had worked with others who needed specific treatment. Strength training has made my inflammation flareups further apart and lessened the duration and severity. My favorite aspect of this program was the on demand workouts that I can do anytime and any place. I've even done my workouts on my child's hospital room! You can see demonstrations of the moves and there are variations to help challenge you as you progress. I had weekly check ins and a positive upbeat encouraging atmosphere. I'm not even in the same state and have had the best experience. This is the best gift you can give yourself. I started at 256 lbs. I've worked with Dave for about 20 months. I have had 9 personal trainers over the last 12 years, He is not your standard personal trainer by any means. After doing initial assessment of lifestyle, physical and health goals, he tailors both nutrition and fitness chapters for each individual client. I use "chapters" because he's willing to adapt to changing goals. For instance we routinely have periods of time where I'm more interested in strength (and not so much on diet) as opposed to muscle mass, physique and nutrition. His technical attention to form is superb as is his attention to detail. Dave also comes to know all of his clients really well and so it's never going through the motions with him. His garage gym is essentially a full gym and he is constantly improving it and adding new equipment. Finally, Dave is one of the nicest people on the planet with an immense heart. If you're looking for fitness program that can be tailored for your specific situation and goals, you must check him out.

He’s always reading up on the latest exercises that will be beneficial to my goals to make my workouts both fresh and effective. He also has expert knowledge on how various muscles and tendons interact—if a specific movement is painful for me, he can explain why it’s likely painful and offer numerous alternate exercises to work the muscle pain-free (although his first alternate suggestion generally does the trick!). I also find his explanations of each exercise and how to know if I’m doing them properly so helpful—it can be intimidating doing some exercises you’ve never done before, but he makes it both educational and fun! David has been a coach and mentor of mine for going on 2 years now. Lots of coaches have knowledge, and lots of coaches have experience, but not many people can put together a training program as professionally as David does. Simply recommending him would be an understatement

I've had the opportunity to work with a lot of strength coaches, and learned what distinguishes the good ones, the bad ones, and the great ones. I'm happy to have found David because he's one of the great ones. I've sent more than a few of my patients to him, and I've had nothing but great feedback no matter what their goals were. Spitz fitness is an excellent gym/fitness alternative for the ones that like me doesn’t want to go to a gym to workout by themselves. David offers personalize programs that fits your specific needs and offers a detailed explanation of the importance of that specific exercise, what areas of your body works and how to do it correctly. David also careas about your eating habits knowing that exercising without having good eating habits is worthless. This garage gym has everything I need and is spotless and always clean. I feel safe in his gym Definitely one of the best investments in my life.

My husband and I started training with David nearly 2 years ago, when we were at our heaviest. Within 2 months we’d lost 30 lbs, built up critical strength and most importantly, with David’s positive attitude and reinforcement, also got an ego and mental boost in the process! By the end of 9 months I was 70 lbs down, to the weight I hadn’t enjoyed since college. There are many good things that I can say about Dave, but the best thing I can say about him is that he will get you results. I started training with David 2 years ago. I started getting stronger, leaner, and feeling better in general. My husband could see the results and how happy I was, so he started training with him too! Now we train together and it's such a fun time, not to mention we're hitting goals we never hit before. One of the many things I appreciate about David is his attention to the differences in training women. If I'm having a bad period that day, he alters my programming so I still get in a great workout, but don't hurt myself in the process. I've taken his recommendations on many women's health issues and my health has gotten significantly better because of it. Man! Where to start?! I've sent David a couple clients from Low T Nation and they got such good results that I sent my wife as well. They've been working out almost a year and she's incredibly thrilled with the results.
