I have been golfing at Stonebridge for over 20 years and I’ve enjoyed every round. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is in the area and is looking for a great course. The only good thing about Stonebridge is Landon. The course is in terrible shape, greens are punched ever single week. Weekends are not a good time out there. Landon the assistant gm that acts as the ONLY GM.. is the only reason I continue my membership..

Played on August 1st, got rained out & paid for rain check through golf now. Called and spoke to management on 8/7 if rain check would be upheld and scheduled a tee time for same day on 8/7, the manager on the phone said it was all good. Arrived at course just to be told they don't do rain checks. After arguing with the clown behind the counter for 10 mins we were made to pay $30 for our "rain check". Absolutely ridiculous communication throughout that place.

Worst management in Rome ga. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. Played 2 holes (paid through golf now) got rained out. Received a rain check. Came back next day was denied because golf now associates couldn’t talk to me till Monday and couldn’t give me a receipt via email. Landon handled the situation terribly. Going to meadow lakes!

I'd probably rate 3.5 these days. We love the course itself. Fairways and greens are in great shape. It's challenging, yet forgiving, with some fun holes. It's pretty. Really, it's one of my favorite courses in the area.
Where it struggles: driving range is beat. Every range gets this way from time to time but it seems a permanent state here. Pace of play is consistently horrendous. We've been playing here for years, on different days and at different times, and it's always slow. It's hard to get a groove when you're constantly waiting. Sometimes we're behind 20-30 minutes before we even tee off. No one regulates this. The ranger may drive around but I've never seen an effort to speed up slow groups. Bev cart is sporadic. You may see her once or twice but don't plan your round by it.
Staff is friendly.

TLDR... Great course, needs work in the management department.

**Update - just want to add that nothing has changed. It's still SO SLOW with no effort to manage groups - people driving up to the greens, driving their carts on the par 3s....it's actually ridiculous. It's a shame. Lovely course but impossible to enjoy it.

This is one of my favorite golf courses. We usually try to play a nice golf course within a 2 hour radius of Chattanooga TN and Stonebrige is only 1 hour way. The course is well kept, great clubhouse with food, and great range/practice facilities.

For the price it’s an awesome deal for seniors. The greens were in fabulous condition. It was cart path only due to recent rains. However, we were very disappointed that in 90+ heat index weather conditions there was no beverage cart and the water coolers were bone dry. Our tee time was 9:30 am. At the turn I asked about needing a bucket of ice. I would have thought we would have been offered a cooler. Not what you would expect from this place. There were multiple employees in the pro shop. Surely one of them could have replaced the coolers. Sometimes you need to remember where you started and do the things necessary to provide a great experience for your customers.

An absolutely amazing course especially when you take the price in to consideration. I have paid twice as much at courses that were half as nice as stone bridge. Hats off to the people who run this course other public courses in the area should take notes. Range is great and the course is even better. A lot of risk reward questions will be asked off the tee and the green complexes are punishing with some absolutely brutal thick Bermuda rough that will STOP a golf ball.

Called to book a tee time for the weekend. I was told you have to pay in advance. I've played golf for 20 years and not once have I had to pay in advance to play at any course. We have 4 players and I can't get all 4 of us to call and pay and also, what if the weather doesn't hold up. Weird

Played in my first Georgia State golf Association MidAm qualifier Stonebridge. Discourse is pretty amazing. You can tell by the houses in the neighborhood that this is a top-notch facility that has gone to public course. Such a peaceful setting with many great views. The greens are good, but they certainly don’t roll as fast as what I’m used to playing at Pinetree🌲⛳️🌲Country Club. I love the layout overall great condition with many spectacular views. I will be back again and again.

We only had time to squeeze in 9 holes but it was certainly challenging. Fairways are all bordered by semi-dense forest, so if you tend to hook or slice.. ya better have keen vision or a lot of spare balls..
I'll be back again to play that back nine.

I had my wedding here! It was an Awesome Experience! Norma was extremely helpful making sure my day flowed the way I wanted it to! She made sure to keep us on a time schedule and did everything she could to make sure our big day was meaningful! I would definitely recommend having your wedding here! I have guest that let me know afterwards that they loved the food! Norma is EXCELLENT at what she does and I definitely recommend!

Stonebridge has fallen apart. I have been a member there for quite some time, and after an injury, considered rejoining. After speaking with about 40 members, I have decided not to rejoin. There are no Marshals or starters in the course, and the common theme I am hearing from the vast majority of members is that “this place is being run into the ground”.
. Ever since Pat left, this place has gone to *%#*. What is happening? Who is the GM at this place?!?!

Played today with my son. Tee boxes are in bad shape. Fairways are not in good shape. Allow a 5 ball to play and of course they held up a lot of groups. This use to be a nice course. Not sure what has happened, but I hope it changes soon.

Gorgeous course. Great layout. Practice range. Putting greens. Simulators where you can play pebble Beach. Snack bar. Golf shop. Beautiful water right by holes 9th, 10th and 11th. Super twilight is a great deal during the week around $20 with golf cart. This course stays extremely busy during the weekend.

I do feel like this turns a slow and mildly athletic game into a slower and more physically demanding task.

We played the first nine holes fast at steady pace. Then from nowhere we had other people on the front. After us another group shows up. After 2 holes they made the decision to continue somewhere on the front nine. Pace of play on the back nine was really slow, some guys played the holes randomly. I hope this happens not on frequently.
This is the only thing that the management can improve.

What a shame. Stonebridge is an interesting track, well designed and challenging if you play it from the back. Yet, very playable. Unfortunately the course management is very poor. As far as I can tell there are no Marshalls and pace of play is a joke. It is just ridiculous and ruins every round. I’ve met some good golfers out there, but as you can imagine, there are a bunch of hacks with no etiquette, slow, multiple shots. After totally getting backed up we even had a foursome of bad players jump ahead of us at the turn and tee off 10. Glad it’s not my home course.

I love stonebridge as a course it always is in great shape and good greens BUT. The management is UNREAL! If you want to play this course I strongly advise you do not come on a weekend. I tee’d off at 930 today and left on hole 13 at 145. This is truly ridiculous there is just foursome after foursome in front of you and no one lets you play through. You literally have to wait before ever tee shot and approach shot every single hole it’s truly ridiculous. I love this course and would really love to see this problem fixed. I don’t think letting groups of foursomes tee off every 5 mins is a good idea

Learn how to book tee times...I’m not a great golfer but good enough to keep pace of play yet on any given day you can find yourself behind 4 groups of 3 of more golfers causing severe wait times. Staff is great but a paying member who frequents this course multiple times a week should not have to deal with this due to bad scheduling

Played this course with a friend 4.17.20, so a little before the grass had come in well. Overall we were both quite disappointed especially considering the reviews which were grossly inaccurate or just plain fake. I'm a mid 80's golfer on a new course that I've not played. I hit the driver around 240 and my 7 iron is about 160. I struggled to break 90 at Stonebridge. The layout is not terribly challenging and is quite interesting but it was the poor condition of course that gave me the most difficulty.

The tee boxes were just awful. Some of the worst that I've seen anywhere. NO grass, not level and ROCK HARD. I could not get a plastic tee in the ground on these tee boxes and had to go to a wood tee.

The hardness of the tee boxes carried over the fairways. I'm a "digger" with my irons and irons are where I usually hit my best shots. I just couldn't make my club dig into the dense soil with little to no grass.

The greens had been aerated for approximately two week and needed another two weeks to be in good condition. No one told us about the punched greens when we called to book the round. I didn't feel that it was fair not to mention this. I'm a good putter and can usually make up three or four shots with long putts but these greens were slow and bumpy. I couldn't hit anything over 20 feet hard enough to get it to the hole.

I don't mind driving an hour or even a little more for a nice round of golf. I drive an hour to Fields Ferry and The Frog and enjoy those courses each time we play. But I will not be going back to Stonebridge again.

After being verbally assaulted by a young man calling himself a golf coach, the young lady working the desk called me a liar. I had a 7:00 appointment, so I played early to make my appointment. Finished the front nine in under 2 hours, but even skipping holes I still couldn't finish in time, as the back 9 took over 3 hours. Cost me $3000.00 to miss my appointment. I wish Rome had more options. I hate conflict. I go there for peace and tranquility, not to fight a redneck over a golf game! So opposite of everyone who has ever worked there. Until today, I was bragging about how nice everyone is there. I hope the problem is fixed soon.
I tried again today to get 18 holes in. The course is in great condition and the greens are great. But as I was walking, as it was cart path only today, from 11 green to 12 tee box Alex, an employee and 3 young men jumped in front of me. I was on a schedule and didn't have the 13 minutes the 4 guys who jumped in front of me were going to take to slow me down. 12 is a par 3 and the boys made it clear they had no intentions of using the edique of golf by never cutting in front of someone. There was a single player behind me on 11 so they passed us both. As I was walking to #13, they hit golf balls, one flying right over my head. I finished the 9 holes and borrowed a cart to go back to find the towel. Alex and the kids he was playing with had my towel and I ask who hit the ball toward me that flew over my head and no one yelled four. Alex told me if he wanted to hit me with a golf ball he would hit me with a golf ball. I made my money in the cemetery business before Shelly, my wife died. I buried a man in 1983 who was hit in the head with a golf ball. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result. I would be insane to think I can play a round of golf without having to have a confrontation over the edique and safety of golf. I really think Pat tries hard, but when the cat is away the rats will play. I will be talking to the city of Rome because my tax money pays for the course. I have videos of the kids saying he will hit me with a golf ball if he want to, and them driving all over the course when it's cart path only. I was most disappointed in Alex for his disrespect for the place he works, Pat his boss, and the City of Rome thar pays for the course. If they hadn't hit balls at me, I would not have cancelled my membership. Dying isn't a good way to have fun playing golf. Nor is arguing with young men with attitudes.

It took under 2 hours to play the front 9. Obviously they have no starter. I couple of young girls cut in on the back 9. After 3 hours on the back 9, they were still on hole 16, so we and another group left and will not be back! Then a young man with the girls, I assume he works there, was trying to start a fight with an older guy over “my girls”, he yelled.

As the only public 18 hole course left in Rome it is well worth the travel from neighboring cities. It has a wonderful practice area. The course itself is well maintained with a lot of challenging holes. The staff is great and clubhouse host many tournaments.
