The YMCA is truly a gem in our community! The facilities are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, making every visit a pleasure. From the fitness center to the swimming pool and multipurpose spaces, everything feels up-to-date and well maintained.
The staff members are incredibly kind and welcomingβthey go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and supported. Whether youβre a first-time visitor or a longtime member, youβre always greeted with a smile and genuine care.
What really sets this YMCA apart are the youth programs and classes. They offer something for every age group, from toddlers to teens, ensuring that kids can learn, grow, and stay active in a safe environment. The variety of classes and activities makes it easy for families to find something that fits their schedule and interests.
I couldnβt recommend the YMCA more highlyβitβs a place where community, health, and kindness come together beautifully.

Very modern facility and equipment. Very family oriented. Great staff. Great members. Great fitness options with everything from Yoga, to exercise machines, to weight lifting, swimming, and many other health programs. I feel very welcome when I visit by both the staff and the other members. I really feel like the YMCA is a part of our neighborhood community.

It would be nice to go back to the normal schedule where they closed at 10pm not 9pm. They open at 5am for the early morning people. Why can't we have that for the evening people and close at 10? I'm still waiting for it to close at ten and it's been over 5 years. GO BACK TO 10 PM!

I am amazed by how welcoming and friendly both the staff and fellow members have been! The HIIT circuit class this morning was highly challenging, which is what Iβm here for. Barbara G. made us all laugh and work our hardest! And Bethβs Pilates class after that was fantastic. Smooth, clear instruction that left us breathing hard and our muscles burning! My kids were hesitant at first in joining a new childcare, but everyone in that department has been so gracious and highly capable in the care of my four children, who range in age from 2 to 10. All of them are getting picked up with smiles and excited to come back. My older kids especially love Phillipβs Youth in Motion class! Weβll be making the Summit YMCA part of our regular routine!

It seems like I pay a premium and there's a lot of other things going on. It seems like a constant give and take to keep children off the machines. I'm looking to switch to a smaller gym, this just let's too much slide and based off my membership it's not a good deal.

The Gym upstairs is fine. But the pools and showers/dressing rooms are filthy. I have been a member many years. Even in the pandemic it was spotless. Now is impossible to swim, out of class hours. The small pool looks gross. I'm reconsidering renewing my membership.

Five years ago, we had to sell our two story home, I could no longer climb the 2 set of stairs.
..Dr Robert Hall, Griffin, Georgia recommended strongly I join the Y!
I donβt always move perfectly and have gained the knowledge of how to adjust my body if
I feel as if I am going to fall. And yes time to time I get an ache.
I am so proud I donβt need a wheel chair even at the airport.
My friends ask how do you just keep going? I saw I attend the Y and take part in water aerobics.

The Summit Family YMCA is an outstanding community resource that has become a cornerstone for local families. From the moment you walk in, youβre greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who truly care about the members and their well-being.
The range of facilities and programs available is impressive. The fitness center is well-equipped, modern, and clean, providing everything from free weights to the latest cardio machines. The group classes are diverse, catering to all fitness levels and interests, with knowledgeable instructors who make every session enjoyable and effective.
One of the highlights is the family-friendly atmosphere. The YMCA offers excellent programs for children, including swimming lessons, youth sports, and engaging camps, making it a great place for kids to learn, grow, and have fun. The child care services are reliable and a huge help for busy parents looking to balance fitness with family time.
Community events and activities foster a strong sense of belonging and connection among members. The YMCAβs commitment to inclusivity and support for all ages and backgrounds is evident in everything they do.
I highly recommend the Summit Family YMCA for anyone looking to enhance their health, meet new people, or find a safe and supportive environment for their family. Itβs a place where the whole community can thrive !

As a current member of the Newnan Summit YMCA, I cannot say enough good things about this fantastic facility! My wife, our 9-year-old son, and I have been enjoying our time here, and it has truly become a second home for our family.
From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes it clear that the YMCA is truly family-oriented. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help, making us feel valued as members.
The variety of programs available for families is outstanding. Whether itβs swimming, basketball, or fitness classes, thereβs always something fun to do. My son particularly loves the youth sports programs, where he gets to learn new skills while making friends in a supportive environment. Itβs heartwarming to see him grow both physically and socially!
The facilities are well-maintained, and itβs obvious that the management takes pride in providing a clean and safe space for everyone. The family-friendly events and activities throughout the year make it easy for us to engage with other members and build a sense of community.
We wholeheartedly recommend the Newnan Summit YMCA to anyone looking for a place that prioritizes family values, fitness, and fun. Itβs not just a gym; itβs a community hub where families can come together, grow healthier, and create lasting memories.
Thank you, Newnan Summit YMCA, for everything you do! We look forward to many more years of family fun and wellness with you!

I have been a member of Summit Family YMCA in Newnan for 10 years now. I can not say enough about how important this place is to me! And when I say this place, I mean the people. There is a family atmosphere... we keep up with each other and if someone hasn't shown up in a while, we go looking for them to make sure they are ok. Again, I say we because it truly does have a family-like atmosphere. The staff know you by name and are always so kind. The facilities are always clean and there is a wide range of programs available for whatever you might have in mind ... And not just exercising. There is a group for those who like to crochet... They go to a low impact exercise class then crochet together afterwards... Or before, I'm not sure. There is also a book club that meets on the weekend. Everything about this place is excellent!
I highly recommend The Summit YMCA in Newnan!

The Family YMCA located in Newnan, Georgia is a family oriented facility dedicated to the overall physical exercise needs of all family members both old and young. There are variety of activities to participate in, with several programs led by live and enthusiastic friendly coaches. The lunch of YMCA360 is a big deal as I can continue with my physical exercise online anywhere in the world The facility stays clean as big as it is and there are enough rest rooms to support guests. I highly recommend the Family YMCA in Newnan, GA as it is managed by professionals committed to the full fitness of all peoples..

Omg Iβm 38 years old and didnβt know how to swim. I decided to take the adult beginner swim lessons and had a wonderful opportunity to meet and be taught by Instructor Chris Hardesty. All I can say is this Man knows how to teach swimming. Iβm now swimming because of his patience and attentive personality. I feel so blessed to know how to swim because of him. What an awesome GuyπBy the way I love the YMCA Summit Very Clean and the staff at the front door, especially Harry is awesome and so welcoming. He makes it a friendly environment.

$25 dollars a day is such a rip off! I could not believe how this place is trying to rob you blind. I am visiting if out of state and I am appalled! My community gym in my town is only $5 for a day pass and is bigger with way more amenities. I thought YMCAβs were supposed to be for communities, to help people stay or get fit. Clearly, they are just a money making scheme that only cares about the wealthy who can afford to workout.
If you are from out of town and traveling the Onelife Fitness is $25 a week and 100% worth it!

It is very frustrating however, that they donβt offer childcare from 12 to 4. Me, my family, & my friends would meet at the basketball courts at 7am 3 days a week to run full court games. However, 2 of the staff members here unfairly used their power & said we couldnt play pick up basketball anymore due to covid, however they can still have their workout classes, people working out in the gym together and have daycare up to 12 years old. One of my friends left the gym and my whole family will be finding a new gym if this is not resolved.

Sasha Sims is absolutely amazing, she has coached our daughter Emma for soccer & basketball and we just can't say enough about her!Her patience, creativity and positive attitude are contagious! Coach Sasha really takes the time to remember the children's names, pair them together appropriately according to skill level and most of all have fun! Our daughter, without a doubt, is Sasha's biggest fan but she never brushes her off and always takes the time to say hi and ask her about her about her day.Sasha works equally as well with the parents, even though we all know some can be difficult just like the children.Thank you to the Newnan YMCA for being great, we truly love you all and espically the parents night out program, and to Coach Sasha you are a ROCKSTAR!!The D'Onofrio Family

Iβve visited this particular YMCA only a few times as a guest but that was enough for me after seeing how employees were being treated by not only fellow members BUT ALSO what seemed to be someone of higher status in the building. I believe it was the aquatics director that Iβve heard say some very disrespectful things to some of the workers and she used unprofessional language as well. This upsets me because I believe that to gain respect you also have to give respect, and I hope to see this change next time I decide to visit again. Especially since the people they have working are always so friendly and do their job right. They donβt deserve to be treated the way that Iβve seen them be treated.

Today was my second visit to the Summit Family YMCA in Newnan Georgia. I walked in and went to a class that I assumed would be a beginner's Zumba class. The class seemed to be a bit advanced. Everyone knew all the dance moves but me and maybe three other ladies in the back. I just moved along they ignored me every step of the way. I left in the middle of class and went to walk the track. After walking the track I went to pick up my son from the childcare area and was told that I had left him for too long this week and was unable to continue my workout. This was only my second visit and I have never worked out more than 45 minutes per my two days at this facility. It was just a very very bad night I will not give up on it. I will try again and hope that things will change in the near future. I pray that they get knowledgeable friendly staff really soon. I have really high hopes for this place. I do not want to leave but will leave if this continues.

The Y isn't your average gym. They offer a safe place for your whole family to live a healthy lifestyle. For the little ones, the childcare is top notch. And if you want to have a little workout with the kids, the staff won't frown on that. It's not the flashiest gym, but they're not about that. You have everything needed to get fit (and buff, if that's your thing) there. My whole family are members of the Y and we go multiple times each week. Well worth it!

At first I felt pretty welcomed as I was taught about being able to grab a token for a locker. Each Y I have went to never told me that it was included in my membership as I chanced placing my belongings in there with hopes no one touches it. I decided for the first time to get out of bed and do as my doctor requested which was start working out. I wanted to try a Step Class which I later found out was Step 2. As soon as I walked in, it just felt weird. The instructor was going about her business with the ones she was familiar with not even taking the time to introduce herself, the class and the equipment needed. I decided to just grab what everyone else was grabbing and tried to ask an older woman if the mats were necessary and she acted as if I scared her. Answered me as she seemed to be running away from me. I didnβt pay that no mind so I decided to go to the back of the class to exercise and automatically felt lefted out as the instructor started to yell out moves without me knowing and not even attempt to do some sort of modification. Like she enjoyed yelling out all the moves and everyone dances and steps all around me as Iβm left clueless. I decided to then just step what I am familiar with but she didnβt seem as if she even cared that I was stuck. After trying not to allow any of that bother me I said I will not feel like a complete fool no longer and decided to walk out. Iβm use to being at an Y that are actually compassionate when it comes to their members and their needs. I never felt as unwelcomed as I felt in this class. I will now drive to Buckhead (45 mins) or Atlanta (35 mins) before I go back to the Y that is 6 minutes up the street from me.

The holidays are hard. Most people gain weight during this time....too many family and work events....To prevent weight gain we have been consistently working out. Now we are visiting family in ATL....but we want to continue working out while away. Today my husband and I visited and worked at the YMCA. We loved the facilities and wanted to come back for a couple days while in town. Huge disappointment that they only have month to month for $93. Spoke to Ms. Mitchell who was kind, but unwilling to accommodate us for two days. I am not sure why this is not a policy and it seems like a limitation in membership. Will go to another fitness center that will charge $15 daily rate for each person, but would have preferred to stay here for the 3 days that we are in yown. The price we will play to keep it tight!

Everyone is very helpful and kind. There are a lot of programs for me to choose from that are safe for me to do that will help me with my injuries after spine surgery. I like how quiet this place is and love the lap track. I use that often. They do a lot for the community to that other people can get involved in. Overall, this is a great gym so much so that I wish hours were extended a little.

Summit YMCA is one of the best facilities that I have seen! The staff is great! There are a lot of programs for children and adults.
