My two daughters have attended U.S. Taido since 2019 and are on track to become black belts in one more year. The school is a family-owned and run business, founded in 1975 by Mitsunobu Uchida, a first-generation Japanese immigrant. It's one of the oldest martial arts schools in the country. The longevity of U.S. Taido is testimony to its positive impact on the community and the thousands of students who have trained here and at sister schools across the country.

U.S. Taido and its instructors are committed to training and mentoring students, from elementary-aged children to senior citizens. The instructors can be tough, but they have genuine concern for their students. Lifelong friendships and bonds are forged here, not only between students, but also families. My children have learned karate and discipline, but valuable life lessons as well. U.S. Taido has helped them to grow physically, mentally, and ethically.

As a parent, I have the utmost confidence that the instructors are invested in my children's safety and well-being. Though I don't train at U.S. Taido myself, my wife and I have received tremendous encouragement from the wholesome family atmosphere and community the school has built. I hope to support the school and its mission for many years to come.

Taido transformed my life in profound ways. It taught me to soar while staying grounded, blending confidence with humility. More than just a martial art, Taido has given me a second family. Even today, when facing challenges, I often think back to my time with Taido. The lessons were embedded in me, and it's only now, years later, that I am truly understanding their value. Through it, I have become a better person, constantly growing mentally tougher.

Taido Karate was a blessing for me and my family. The teaching is rigorous, but done with care. The school perfectly balances the rituals of Japanese culture with the needs of American students. It helped my son learn focus and discipline. I spent countless hours for more than a decade practicing Taido with people who became life long friends. The lack of long term contracts and the dedication of the students to this school epitomizes what a karate school should be based upon.

There’s a reason that this school has been thriving since the 70’s. The patience exhibited by each teacher makes it so much easier for a child to learn. The physical skills are just the right amount of challenge. This is something every child needs, especially in this digital age.

The service and food was great. We got sushi and it was very fresh. The only "issue" was that the check-in was a bit hectic. They could probably do something to fix that though and it wasn't/isn't a reason to pass up the great food.

This karate school is amazing. All of the instructors are amazing, and patient, and do an amazing job with the kids, and we’ve seen so much growth from our child here both in and out of karate. And we love that they hold kids to a high standard. Our 5 year started in July. We’ve never seen him have so much fun and work so hard. He practices all the time at home without any prompting from us. He just loves it. And it’s definitely improved his focus. You would not believe the number of steps and coordinated movements he’s learned and memorized in Japanese is such a short time. We researched places extensively before trying it out, and we are so grateful we have our son here. Highly recommended!

Best karate dojo, I went there when I was a child and the memories and lessons learned are still ingrained in me. I urge you to send your kids here to learn the art of karate and self defense from true masters! I hope sensei Fuchida is doing well!!

They genuinely care about every student so much. I've learned tons with them, and I've become more confident and willing to put myself out there. Their sparring classes are so fun, I get to practice my skills in fights against my peers as my senseis give me pointers. Even through virtual learning, they've still managed to help us learn and work out at the same time. You can feel the love that goes into this place, it's incredible.

My son has almost made his year mark with Taido. We initially signed him up hoping to assist with building confidence, character and discipline. I must say how proud I am that he is doing very well . He struggles like many child with "I don't wanna go today" or "Do I have to" as he doesn't like to try new things but each instructor is patient and extremely encouraging. Thank you so much for what you do not just for my son but for so many other children that attend. I definitely can see an improvement as he is beginning to see his strength and build his confidence.

This is a wonderful group and they have been a very important role in teaching my daughter discipline and flexibility. My daughter looks forward to attending class three days a week and has made incredible progress.

My kid has been there for 2 years, I have to say it was a perfect place for small kids in the first half year, but then.. it is totally waste of time and money. The old Sensei is respectful, but his sons just not. Personally, I wouldn't suggest any friends to this place. If your kids like dance, simply go to dance studio, if you kids like gym, go to gymnastic place, or simply karate, wrestling or boxing place.. it should be much efficient than waste time here.

I’ve been doing karate for only 10 months and I’ve been really successful. On the other hand, black belts and white belts, I see no difference . I’m really disappointed in Taido. Can you actually fight and make contact? shake my head. I bet I can go in there and beat your sensei. Lol. And you call yourself a karate dojo. How can you call yourself a karate school if you don’t go up against different martial arts?

It's more "show" than Martial Arts... After observing the classes... They seem friendly and family oriented... But they don't do a lick of real fighting or sparring. I WOULD NOT come here for reality based martial arts. Correction.... After training at an actual martial arts school... Taido... Is in for lack of better words.... Ridiculous.

This is a family run business (father and sons), and they have been working with families in this location for many years. The senseis have taken a personal interest in helping each of our kids along. We couldn't be happier! If you are going to make an investment in martial arts, you want a team like this for sure.
