I’ve been training with Josh at Team Rohr for several years, and as a Masters 2 lifter, I’m continually impressed by the progress I’ve made. His expertise, professionalism, and individualized approach set him apart. Josh’s attention to detail and ability to motivate athletes of all levels make Team Rohr Powerlifting an outstanding place to train.

Josh sat down and spoke with me for more time than he should’ve because he had a class but was wholly focused on what he could and could not do for me. He will not sell you on what he can do so no pressure consult. He actually told me to visit a gym that could do exactly what i was looking for. If power lifting is your game definitely meet with Josh he’s awesome. Thank you Josh.

As a beginner lifter, Josh personally trained me and taught me the fundamentals of powerlifting and olympic lifting. I had no experience with olympic lifts prior to coming to Tram Rohr. He provided me with a workout plan that was easy to execute. He stressed that fundamentals and good form are the keys to long term success. I'm forever thankful for my opportunity to work with Josh and Team Rohr.

I trained with Josh and his team through three meets and could not have been happier with his approach, knowledge and programming. I had never touched a barbell until my late 30s and was completely intimidated by the entire sport of powerlifting (I envisioned giant, scary, juiced-up guys screaming at each other TBH), but he created a supportive, ego-free, no BS environment and his approach/coaching and programming enabled me to set multiple state records during my first year of lifting. If you *want* to be screamed at by a giant, scary juiced-up guy he may not be the one for you. But if you want to learn the actual technique and mechanics behind the sport of powerlifting, from someone who is going to teach you and also appropriately push you in a way that makes you believe you can lift things you never before thought were possible, he’s your guy.

I have been lifting with Team Rohr, coached under Josh Rohr, for the past five years since I was a sophomore in college. I joined with very little experience in powerlifting and he has cultivated me into the lifter I am today. I am close with all three coaches of the team: Josh, Lara, and James. I have never had a bad experience with any one of them over the years of working with them during training or while being coached at competitions. They are always prompt to answer my questions within at least a day, but usually takes no time at all. And every interaction is profession and friendly. I consider this team to be my family. We can depend on one another and we support each other. I would recommend this team to everyone from beginners to experienced lifters. I don't have enough words to explain what this team means to me or how great of an experience I have had.

I started working with Josh remotely during Summer 2020. He was instrumental in helping me identify the on going issues in my deadlift that kept aggravating a past bulged disc. Without his help I don't know know how I would still be able to deadlift. He is strict with his lifters, but it is because he cares about our technique and helping us do our best. His programs are easy to follow and he is adaptive to what a lifter needs, you aren't just going to get a cookie cutter program!

I have been training with Team Rohr for almost 3 years and have grown as a lifter, an athlete and a person! The quality of training, programming, communication and sense of community has been invaluable! I am not sure how the previous reviewer made such a harsh judgment after such a brief encounter, but I can say with confidence that our coaches treat everyone with respect regardless of the experience of the client. I have witnessed our coaches instruct beginners and elite athletes with the same passion. I appreciate how they collaborate by giving guidance to the entire team regardless of who is writing programming. I feel 100% supported by this team!!

Team Rohr has been great for teaching me how to get into powerlifting! Coach Josh is great at communicating and really making you feel apart of the team, and the team itself is so welcoming! If you’re interested in powerlifting, I’d definitely check them out!

I have been with Team Rohr for just over a year now and it has been the best year of my powerlifting career so far. I live in Wisconsin and my coach(s) live in Georgia, but that has not stopped us from meeting twice weekly via zoom to train.

Any questions I've had (even goofy ones), are answered quickly, honestly and professionally. The most impressive is the ability to reach my coach and get feedback that is revelant to what is going on currently (example would be if dealing with an injury...). They listen, adjust workouts and find your weaknesses in your lifts and give you best options and opportunities to overcome them!

To me what has set them apart is the ability to be "with" you through training and at meets...even virtually. The coach's are amazing and I would highly recommend this team if you want to see progress in your lifts!
