Course was in good condition, but other than that, it was a less than stellar experience. It took 5 1/2 hours to get through a round on a weekday and the bugs were relentless. The Marshal should actually enforce pace of play rather than pushing a notification on the cart that you’re “40 minutes behind pace” while sitting there watching the group ahead of you tee off. Will most likely never return. Only reason I remembered to leave a review is because I’m still scratching my bug bites from 3 days ago..

Very slow pace of play. Got hit into 3 different times by the same group, one of which hit the top of a cart in our group.

This place is garbage. $135 is way overpriced. Should be half that and even that's being generous. The staff isnt friendly. Course was just blah. Seems like they are trying too hard to be a premier course and it just ain't working. Find somewhere else to spend your $135. One and done with this one

The course is not in good shape and the golf staff provided no notice of extreme wet conditions. Additionally, the golf staff does not manage the pace of play resulting in very slow rounds. . Very disappointing for a resort of this caliber. The need more engaged management.

Great place if you go as a guest. Do not join here. You’ve been warned. They do not care about their members. Been a member here for a couple of years have been treated like I’m a homeless person off the street just while trying to use the amenities that I pay for to use. Their member tournaments don’t have good turnouts. They play lift clean and place them people take that as a way to cheat and improve lies etc. they allow disabled people to run carts through the fairways on cart path only days. So as a member now I have to look at tire tracks through the middle of the fairways for months. If you have an on course issue and call the pro shop they will tell you they’ll send someone out but they never will. Then the issue will escalate to a full blown confrontation. If you are a guest they’ll treat you like royalty. If you’re a member, your questions comments and concerns are their absolute last priority. As a member we pay good money to keep this place nice just to let them allow guests to destroy the course. There is absolutely no standard at this resort. I’ve even seen a guy playing with no shirt on. Very shameful and an embarrassment to the golf community.

Played a round of golf first week of June. Mosquitos everywhere! Got bit 40-50 times on the legs, neck, face, hands and over the shirt. Nothing even the insect spray deterred them. The course maintenance should do a better job maintaining the course. Don’t recommend the course during this time.

Played Savannah Harbor yesterday — the course layout and design are great, and conditions were decent overall. Unfortunately, the mosquitos were relentless, even with bug spray and a breeze. Be prepared if you’re playing under the trees. Biggest letdown was the service: the grill was locked mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, no drinks available at the turn, and the pro shop didn’t carry refreshments. We only saw the cart girl twice, and she left before we finished. Great location near downtown Savannah, but the service and amenities don’t match the potential. I won’t be returning.

Stunning corse. Our tee time was 4:03 we were a couple paired up with 2 singles together we played from 3 different tees. No stops at the club house in between and we got our carts back right at 8:05 - the last few holes were really rushed to try and get to it all. The sunset over the bridge on the last few holes was immaculate and the scenery throughout was beautiful. The driving ranges was probably the best I’ve ever been to - all other experiences on metro Atlanta. The wind really picked up making the difficulty go up but the challenge was good. Saw a lot of wildlife our favorite being the alligator the least favorite being mosquitos - bring your bug spray.

Booked 3 back to back tee times here and our whole group had a great experience. Great range facility, cart girl was nice, food and drinks at the turn were quick and the course was in great shape. Will be back next time I’m in Savannah. I would put it up there with courses two and three times the cost in other places

Fun and challenging course. Conditions were excellent. Great practice facilities with range and large putting green that are extremely well maintained. Would highly recommend playing if you are in the area! (Tip: wear bug spray. Not the courses fault at all; just the reality of the golf course around bodies of water. We wore bug spray and had zero issues. Those in our group that did not, was a different story. Will 100% be back to play this course.)

Course is exceptional, location is prime just minutes from downtown Savannah. Pro shop and attending staff were great. The 1 star rating is due to the complete lack of bar cart service on the course. We were advised by the starter that there were a few carts on course and they would looking after us. On the tee box off 11, we had still not seen a single cart. I called the pro shop to ask if they would kindly ask one of the carts to pass by our hole. I was advised that they were just around the corner and would be there shortly. Sadly I finish 18 holes, very very thirsty.

Anyways, would play again but with a bag full of my own refreshments.

Golfing at The Club at Savannah Harbor was an absolutely unforgettable experience and easily deserves a 5-star review. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-tier—staff were welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about maintaining a premier golfing destination. The course itself is a masterpiece, beautifully situated along the Savannah River with stunning views of the historic downtown skyline and the Talmadge Bridge. Each hole offered a unique challenge, with well-manicured fairways, fast greens, and strategic bunkering that kept things exciting without being punishing.

I came here while attending a business convention in Savannah and was blown away by the quality of the course and overall experience. The natural Lowcountry scenery, with its marshlands and Spanish moss-draped oaks, adds a serene backdrop that makes every round feel like a retreat. The pace of play was just right, and the carts were equipped with GPS, which was a nice touch for navigating the course and managing distances. After the round, we enjoyed drinks and food at the clubhouse, which offers fantastic views and a relaxing atmosphere. This facility is top-notch across the board.

I will absolutely be coming back on my own time. This course is a must-play for any golf enthusiast visiting Savannah.

It seems to be a nice layout unfortunately the course is still dormant with Bermuda grass. The greens ran about 10 and the tee boxes were ok. Course Review: The Club at Savannah Harbor

Course History: Situated along the picturesque Savannah River, this course was designed by the renowned Robert Cupp, with input from legendary golfer Sam Snead. Once home to the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour, Savannah Harbor has built a reputation as one of the premier courses in the Southeast. Its rich history and scenic marshland views create an experience that blends tradition with natural beauty.

Course Conditions: Even in the middle of winter, the course was in outstanding shape. The greens rolled smooth and true, providing a fair but challenging test, while the fairways, despite being rain-soaked, were lush and well-maintained. It’s clear that the grounds crew here takes great pride in their work.

Layout Vibes: The course reminded me of a classic Country Club design, with many of the holes running side by side. This not only creates a nostalgic feel but also helps save a wayward shot or two (I’ll admit, my slice came in handy a few times!). The routing is friendly for all skill levels, while still offering plenty of strategic challenges.

Practice Facility: The range and practice areas are top-notch, perfect for warming up or dialing in your game. One standout feature was the massive shipping container set vertically on the range. It wasn’t just functional—it was fun! Hitting it produced the most satisfying PING, and it added a quirky touch to an already great practice area.

Pro Shop Saves the Day: I managed to forget my golf shoes, but the pro shop came to the rescue with a fantastic selection to choose from. The staff went above and beyond, offering helpful advice and ensuring I was ready for my round. Their friendliness and professionalism added to the overall experience.

Memorable Hole Alert: Aligator Alley, a tight par 4 bordered by marshland on the left, stood out as my favorite hole. Its demanding accuracy and unique layout made it both nerve-wracking and rewarding. It’s a hole that captures the essence of Savannah Harbor—challenging yet unforgettable.

If you’re looking for a course that seamlessly blends history, quality, and Southern hospitality, The Club at Savannah Harbor should be at the top of your list. I can’t wait to return—hopefully under sunnier skies!

Came from Augusta to play this with a local friend of mine and paid $148 for a round (local rate was not offered to me). Price is astronomical for the course condition. Greens are very slow (Velcro like) and very patchy. Dead spots everywhere. Lost a couple balls in the rough right off the fairway…guess they’re getting ready for the US Open. Hard to play rough that deep without a spotter. Pace of play def suffered due to this. Food and Bev was good but a little pricey (not out of the norm). And the golf experience wasn’t all bad. Nice fairways, good layout, challenging holes. But for $148 I expect a pristine product. If the course is suffering then the price should too. Can tell they are only about the money out there. Won’t be back unless I’m able to pay a local rate or course gets in better condition.

Apologize for my delay on getting to this review (I know many of you have been waiting for it)
I was finally just released from the hospital due to a record number (8,345,965) of mosquito bites.
The round began by the clubhouse attendant calmly muttering $175, which immediately put a few of us into a state of physical shock, due to the super pleasing aesthetics of their brand new, state of the art tennis courts out front (sarcasm). Upon arriving on the first green, we noticed 14 dead spots and the greens running slower than Joe Bidens “change” he promised us.
The other claim to “non”-fame was that the mosquitos may have been worse than sitting in the jungle whilst fighting in the Vietnam war. These things were the size of Buick’s and were as mean as I am trying to be in this review.

Overall: would not go back. Overpriced for the quality of a $70 course. To charge $175 your greens need to be pristine.
I would give Zero stars, but because we were able to see 2 alligators during the round, we were slightly enthused.

One of the worst experiences we could have as a group that does an annual golf trip. Terrible service, below average course, and to top it off the staff took my bag to the front after the round with no one at bag drop and it was “stolen” shortly after. No cameras to check on. Definitely an inside job. The club pro did absolutely nothing and the Westin did nothing to try to make up for it, even after a police report. I was told this is common here. If you’re a sub 20 handicap and or just want to have a good time generally without your stuff stolen, avoid this place at all costs.

Fantastic layout, especially for the price. Greens were south east in the late summer, but rolled consistently. Very fun greens to read. You have to read them but they’re not too challenging. Course layout is beautiful. Had holes that needed you to make a decent shot (not a miracle one), made me think when I was out there. The wind off the river throws some curveballs, especially on a 599 yrs par five into wind, but it’s fun to calculate. This course makes you think at the level you are if you play the right tees for your game. Loved it. Will be back for sure!

The course was truly special. Two of my best buddies and I caught it on the way home from his bachelor trip. Played the back 9, originally booked 18. There were able to accommodate since we were in a time crunch to make it back home. They had lunch bags with club sandwiches ready to pass out before 11. Showers open to us to hit before we hit the road.

Now on to the course, layout is pristine… drivable par 4s and beautiful fairways. Wildlife all over, truly was a great experience.

Was staying in downtown Savannah for a long weekend and was able to squeeze in 18 on a Wednesday morning. Our twosome used rentals and was given a box of balls each. The course was in great condition. Unfortunately, the day we played it started pouring on the back nine through 17, so it couldn’t be enjoyed 100%. The staff in the pro shop was nice. There was a range with a collection of balls at the tee box. Locker rooms are available to spa, resort, and golfers. There’s a sauna, steam room, and shower. Would definitely go back and would recommend for anyone staying at the Westin.

Stopped in Savannah to tour city and play golf. Made reservations through Troon Prive. We arrived at golf course an hour early, as we always do to. We checked in and paid and then was told by the starter that the drink range was closed. Should have told us this before we made reservation and especially before we paid. Had to wait an hour for our tee time.
Holes 13-26 were virtually unplayable due to the numbers of bugs (misquotes??) near the marsh. Everyone in my group got bit at least 20 times.
Once and done for my group.

Played here this week and was really looking forward to taking my wife here as I have played here before and really enjoy the layout. Fun course but, the greens are in terrible shape. Top dressed and slower than putting on shag carpet. I understand that top dressing is necessary but, the reason for the 1 star is that when such conditions exist, I shouldn’t have to pay full price. And it should be advertised that the course is not up to par. Frustrating to pay full price two greens fees and rentals and have those conditions. Very unfortunate that some courses still charge full price as if it’s the same course.

Greens fees were just over $100 for a 9:36 tee time.
Must say that I was very unhappy with the greens as they were slow, bumpy and very sandy with many spots where you needed to move the ball to have a putt. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast options were between a bacon, egg and cheeses burrito or sausage, egg and cheese english muffin. Chose the bacon, egg and cheese burrito which was less than stellar. Course layout was fine. Greens were good. Overall condition was not great, many portions that were burned out/torn up, and it all appeared to be the result of mowing issues, so self inflicted. All that aside, the biggest reason for the 2 stars is the blasting of music on the driving range (and in smaller part, the putting green). The music at the range was so loud that you couldn't hear if someone gave you advice on your swing - you had to yell to hear anything. It was so loud that the music was bothersome on the 18th tee and entire 18th hole - you clearly heard the music. There should be NO music blaring at the range or the putting green, and it certainly should not be so loud that it can be heard several hundred yards away. Last I knew, golfing etiquette was to be silent while people swung the golf club - so why would you blast music where people are swinging clubs? Why even have music outside at all?

I'm a 10 handicap & I shot 90, so it was a difficult layout for me, or my game is terrible at the moment. 1 birdie 5 Pars and the remainder a lovely mix of bogeys, double bogeys, triple bogeys.
Huge gators live throughout the course, so watch your step near ANY waters edge.
On my visit, hole 17 had a huge 13ft+ 300+ lb male gator & two 6 - 8ft females.
It's definitely a nice course & I will play again when I visit savannah georgia.

Came with a group of 12. Planned the trip weeks in advance. From the first phone call, to the time my buddies and I walked off of property, the staff at Savannah Harbor were top notch. Good communication, very hospitable.

The golf course recently had some new greens done. They were firm when responding to distant iron shots and wedges, but slow rolling with the putter. This was the only part of the day that was a negative point, however it’s completely understandable. The green complexes were great though! Can’t wait to come back later when they’re pure.

Highly recommend.

The Club at Savannah Harbor is my Happy place because of the caring and professional staff. Many who have remained over the past decade and beyond. They display the epitome of southern hospitality.

Came w/ a group of 8 and we had back to back tee times. The positives would be the condition of the fairways and the views. The negatives we experienced sadly overwhelmed any positives.
It is overpriced for what it is. One in our group got a military discount at $80 and it's probably worth that, but the $170 we paid. Marshall was overbearing, bag guys were not the greatest, and the overall feel of the place was elite-ist. Do not recommend and will not return.
I'd rather play Southbridge for the price.

Played Thursday, 4/6 after attending the Wednesday practice round at the Masters. Very disappointing. Nice layout and convenient location, but the conditions were horrendous given the price ($170). Complete ripoff.

Great location and that is what your $200 green fee is paying for. We were really disappointed with a few things we encountered on our round. We teed off just after 10 am and had mowers, tractors and the blowing machine guy following us on nearly every hole of the front. This is expected if you get the first tee time of the day, not at 10:00. These guys need to show up to work on time. The workers also had very little respect for us as a group, often in the way of our shots and not turning off the machines even by the greens. Speaking of the greens, complete garbage, super slow, sanded and eaten up with “cancer” spots. The course is fairly wide open and not overly difficult by any means, would’ve been fun if not for the greens and mowers. That being said, the course is way over priced and they shouldn’t charge full price based on the current conditions of the greens.

Pricey esp for morning rounds considering greens were pock-marked and tons of sand to putt through also tons of sand flys my club provides free sprays of OFF they expect you to buy a can( which cant be carried on plane) i found it kinda petty they want to sell bug spray

Drove from Hilton Head to play this course. It was not worth the drive or the $170 per person price tag. The greens had just been sanded and were awful to play on. If we had been notified ahead of time we could have made the choice to play or not. They also allowed a group of five to go off ahead of us which made the pace of play slow. Lots of hit and wait, and hit and wait.

Paid $144 and was 1st group out for the day. Fairways not mowed and very furry. Greens also unmowed and slow. Many of the greens on front 9 had significant problems - mold and bare spots with absolutely no grass. Greens are not any better than the average city muni course. One player in group said the waste bunker was just has smooth as the greens. Drove 2 hrs to play and was excited to play. Ended up being extremely disappointed as it was an extraordinarily horrible value.

Didn't play golf. Stopped at the only open "restaurant" at Westin. Stale sandwiches for almost $30 for 2...plus fruit and cookies. Wonderful staff member, friendly, helpful and certainly not the person responsible for the stale sandwiches.

By far the most junior friendly golf course/pro shop within 30 miles of Bluffton,SC. The course conditions are improving significantly. Not all renovations are completed but JJ and I will forever call the Club at Savannah Harbor home. I pray they continue to invest in the next generation.

I'm only giving two stars because the course was nice. The staff in the pro shop were very unfriendly and one guy was more interested in the soccer game and the older guy didn't seem to have a clue he was working at a pro shop. The cart staff were rude and suggested the course was closing (due to rain) but they never did. When I asked for a back 9 refund I was told they don't refund they only offer rain checks. I felt that to be inconvenient as I am a visitor. Also, when I mentioned the attitude of the staff he said because the weather and not enough tips they can be grumpy. This place was awful for spending the amount of money to play there I would expect much better customer service I wouldn't recommend this place if you are wanting to experience a nice club feel.

This was my first time playing a course like this. Again, top notch from start to finish. The weather wasn't very cooperative but we still had fun. Their Bloody Mary's are delicious. The cart girl comes around a lot as well. The practice range was great! Free range balls, a nice putting & chipping green...and lots of gators and birds to look at! If you get a chance, play there!!

Played on oct 12, green fees posted on internet we’re $127at757am,ended costing 180 after cart fee and taxes added. Rough was outrageous 3 to 4 inches of Bermuda right off fairway, impossible for even very good players ,spent all day looking for balls.ridiculous for a resort course. Not fun at all.

Played the golf course the end of Sept 2022. Condition is maybe as good as any other muni. I was a reciprocal and payed the overcharged local rate. You’re better off at Crosswinds for $50. Harbor is nothing to see or play. Should have taken pictures of a few messed up greens. The kicker was the 6 or so groups were all sent out on top of one another…. Nearly a 5hrs round…. This is Troon?

Came down for a vacation with the wife and decided to golf at what was supposed to be a PGA course, paid 400$ for the two of us, course is in terrible shape, there is no appeal to play at this place, expected it to be on par with Kiawah for the price, it’s more on par for a local city course

I didn't play golf but stayed at the hotel and used the facilities. The gym was really good. Couple of pelotón bikes, which are cool, trx, plenty of Dumbbells and benches... Cardio and more.
The tennis courts weren't too bad. I don't think they were regularly cleaned but it doesn't take much to do it yourself. Spa and all amenities were nice. My only complaint was that it was about a 5-6 minute walk to the club from the hotel and I had to fight off sweat bees both ways which isn't fun. It's a minor complaint and call me spoiled but it's always nice to have the fitness and spa facilities on site

Mark in the clubhouse is great. Are the greens in questionable shape? Yes some of them are. The rest of the course is great though. And they are making efforts to fix the greens as well as sprucing up everything else. I think some people are overly critical of certain aspects when this is still a very beautiful course. You’re playing golf which is not known to be the most affordable sport, if you think this course is too expensive play somewhere else. You’re not gonna get the view though I assure you —across the border into SC greens fees are more than double for a course w half the view. I like this place just fine. And the staff is very nice —I have fun out here playing solo. Can’t wait till fall when everything is complete.
