Being A Person Of Color, I’m Always Cautious About Going To Places That Don’t Feel Welcoming. I Came To Support A Friend Who Has A Membership, And A Worker Approached Me Asking If I Needed Help. Favorite gym in town, hands down. The owner is always there and super easy to talk to, and you can tell he really cares about the place. The equipment is solid and well taken care of—everything you need without all the fluff. It’s very much a no-nonsense, get-your-workout-done kind of vibe, which I love.

The community here is awesome, the bathrooms are always clean, and the best part? You’re greeted by the cutest dog when you walk in (she’s my favorite employee). Honestly just a great place all around.

I loved this gym! I was visiting from out of town and purchased a week pass, very affordable! The equipment is all in great shape and there’s plenty of variety for any workout. The space is super clean, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming—it really feels like a community. The best part is being greeted by the sweetest dog when you walk in. My go to gym always! The Zoo is by far the best gym in Savannah; both in terms of equipment/facility quality and genuine heart and care for their guests. The gym dog, Zyla, is the sweetest soul and genuinely the highlight of my day every time. Ron, Chris and Zyla feel like family and are all so encouraging and sweet. You won’t find any other gym in town where they remember your name and genuinely wanna know how your day is going. 100/10 recommend!

Was thrilled to find a this gym while on vacation during prep! Close to downtown Savannah, just 30 minutes from Tybee, and had a week pass for $35 which is a steal! As a wellness competitor, this gym was a playground. I can honestly say it is the best gym I have ever been to for lower body and glute focused lifts. The owner and staff were super nice, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend that you check out this gym if you’re ever in the area!

No AC. It is actually 75* in here, I checked the temperature, ngl for $40 a month there’s no excuse for that. It’s hotter in here than it is outside🙁… Apparently they don’t even have ac running at all unless it’s a certain temperature outside tf? is the perfect gym besides that, they have every machine you can think of and it’s 24/7. Owners really need to change that ac nonsense tho. Reply: I’m sure expensive and again I do love this gym truly, never seen a place more organized with better equipment. Just my old gym in md was mom and pop too, only $10 a month in an area that was three times as expensive as Savannah and they had their ac blasting 24/7 even in the winter. Again, still love your gym a lot no hate there at all like I truly get great workouts here you got everything. It’s still the best gym I’ve seen in Savannah. I just feel like I’m in a hot shower when I’m here. Maybe it’ll help me with endurance lol

Stars are for nice equipment and friendly members and staff.
Negatives were there seemed to be a lot of repairs, the first restroom stall i went into didn't have a lock, there were dents in the floor and cracks in the window, and it overall just felt neglected in the area of cleaning.
The equipment was really top notch, however the set up compared to other gyms we've gone too seemed a little confusing.

I'm currently located in Savannah, and after checking out some local gyms, I was really looking for a more “hard-core” spot with a focus on free weights, powerlifting, and Olympic lifting. The closest options were Planet Fitness and Crunch, but neither fit the vibe I was hoping for. I decided to drop by The Zoo one day, and the staff there were awesome—they let me walk around, check out the space, and even work out! I was genuinely impressed by the friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in.

Beyond the free weights, Olympic lifting platforms, and powerlifting cages, the gym has plenty of accessory equipment, a small jungle gym area, and a solid cardio section. The restrooms and changing rooms are clean, with lockers available, and they even have two tanning booths if that’s your thing. The environment, staff, and even the owner have been fantastic.

This is one of the worst gyms that I have ever been to. It is one of the better options in Savannah if you are serious about lifting but that doesn't say much. The members are really what makes this place tolerable. However, the owner is lazy and doesn't take care of the gym. The womens bathrooms is always gross - a leak has left still water over every bathroom stall floor for months. There have been a few times where there isn't even soap in the bathroom either. The windows are dusty and gross. There is equipment that has been broken since I got a membership 9 months ago, a lot of the rest of it is outdated. Membership is cheap and 24 hour access is nice, but the door is also broken and never locks! Cancelling my membership because it pains me to support a business that is run like this.

Justin (a saint) made some repairs to the womens restroom that were much needed. My trainer is the best. She takes care of my workouts, adjust as needed (sometimes on the fly). Very knowledgeable and passionate about getting others healthy, safely. Tori @tmaysfitness is so good that I now have my wife working with her.
I would definitely recommend anyone from trying to lose a few pounds to full body makeover, she will get you there - you have to do the work.

The owner’s wife accused me of “finding a membership card” mid-set once, made me come sign in again, and then pretended it never happened with no apology when my card worked. Broken equipment usually stayed broken. Was also sold on how clean the bathrooms were when they first opened, but everyone knows how well that’s gone. Staff is rude or at best, socially awkward. Someone would have to explain why the gym is supposed to be worth over twice as much. Ron is too scared to handle his employees poor behavior, as well.

This is absolutely hands down one of the best gyms in the local Savannah, Pooler and Rincon region! The leg equipment if off the charts! There are many gyms. This one is different. It's an actual gym. The owner brings his pitty baby, Zyla, every day he's here. She inspires everyone to give 110% in their workouts. The gym has lots of equipment to choose from staff is friendly but there’s a few problems the gym needs to take care of

The gym is not very clean, the bathrooms always stink and toilets are always disgusting. The members are at fault for the toilets.. however the sink is always dirty, soap is scarce and there’s no paper towels to dry your hands off after you rinse them with water. There’s only a single blow dryer that looks like it has undiscovered bacteria growth on it and the wall it’s mounted to. The air filters are also not cleaned

The third party payment processing company they use to charge you is sketchy and they never make canceling easy. You’ll always be on hold, if you let them “hang up and call you back when someone’s available” you won’t get a call back so you have to stay on the line until they pick up. The people who handle emails have automated responses that send immediately after you send a support or cancellation request. But you won’t hear back from an actual person until after a week or two.

I hope the owner decides to change their payment process company to save their members from any headaches. And please hire a professional cleaning company that comes somewhat often to make the place look and smell nicer.

well we signed up letting staff know it would be brief. we went for 2 weeks and let staff know we would not be coming back and needed to terminate membership. we did and have now been getting daily robo calls with no way to talk to the idiots who have decided to call.

I went to this gym since they were month to month.. So I joined and I was paying monthly. I spoke with Rob the owner and let him know this was not a good gym since I travel so much around the US and this is only in Savannah. He said no problem call this number which handles their clients and let them know you are giving your 30 day notice. I called and informed them that the owner Rob gave me the number which was suppose to be hassle free. Since last year they were still charging my CC until I had to cancel the card. I now have a 3rd party out of Salt Lake harassing me with 3 calls a day and now notices in the mail for payment. I left a message with the staff of The Zoo for Rob and he will not return my calls.. He and the Zoo is the typical scam of the gym industry. Don't get scammed like I did. I had to hire a lawyer now to get the harassment to end. This is the worst gym. Not only do they respond with hostility, they attack people . You don't need to school me about commitments Karen. You are aggressive and yes you have a third party harassing people out of Salt Lake. Your husband told me I could call the number and give 30 day notice . Why would give me the number if I was obligated to any contract. You can threaten me all you want , that's what your type does.

I can't say enough great stuff about this place. I can't remember when I had so much fun and energy working out. The atmosphere is awesome and they pretty much have every machine for every body part. A must visit for any real athlete and bodybuilders alike. Special thanks to the owners for my tour all round. Even has a posing room.

a 20 min drive from River Street- (Worth it if you are a heavy lifter!) Decent selection of machines and weights. the dumbbell selection went pretty heavy (150) plenty of cables so you don't have to wait around. Only negative was no sauna. We did a day pass for 12 bucks.

Found this gym about 3 year ago. Great gym with a wide variety of equipment, friendly staff and a lot of dedicated individuals that attend regularly. All of the equipment works great besides some wear and tear from the high traffic this gym supports. The one drawl back I have is the cleanliness. The locker rooms could improve along with the build up of "dust" around the machines, windows and other areas. I understand this is a never ending battle and the place does have "cleaners" but the quality and frequency could definitely be improved. Would support 5 stars if the facility was maintained and cleaned more often.

My issue isn’t so much with the gym or owner itself. It’s with paramount. You can’t cancel your membership AT the gym. You have to call a 1-800 number and good luck getting ahold of them. I’ve called 10 times in two days, had them call me back and still had to wait for 14 minutes for them to answer, just to be told to email them and wait a few days.

Also when I tried to cancel my training (I signed up for a year, paid 1st and last months payments when I signed up) they tried saying I had to pay this month. I was like no I paid first & last month when I signed up. I checked my bank statements and actually paid 13 months. Also you can’t tell them you want to cancel training. I had to email them. Idk if it keeps going unless you cancel or what. But when I asked for a copy of my contract months ago for work I never got it. Just seems sketchy and it’s a headache to cancel.

They gym itself has good equipment, is clean, and the trainer I’ve had as been very nice and helpful.

There's a lot of equipment, and a lot of good barbells - cambered, safety, etc,and a belt squat machine, which I love. *Insanely* crowded after work, packs of young boys roaming around with their gym bags/purses everywhere. No problem using any equipment I needed to though.

Staff was very helpful in showing the layout of the gym, personable friendly front desk help. The gym is built for results no matter the goals of your fitness and lifestyle. Really would refer not giving a review because this place is a jem! But I hope the review brings more clients in to this location so hopefully this franchise can expand their business in the area!

Gym so good my wife got carried away and strained her neck. 10/10 would recommend. Would definitely become a member if we lived in the area.

Also please, for the love of God, foam roll and get a lacrosse ball to avoid some muscle strains in your lifting journey.

I loved going to Zoo when I lived in Savannah! Great equipment, friendly staff, and a positive and safe environment to work out in. I was extremely nervous to restart my gym journey after avoiding the gym before and during COVID-19... Zoo really helped me spark that joy back into my life. I took advantage of the personal training once a week while also working out on my own. I lost 30 pounds from September to May while still being able to lift heavy. If I ever had a question or just wanted to talk to the staff they were always so friendly and helpful. By far the best gym in Savannah, especially for the price. I suggest this gym to anyone in the area, experienced or new!

I have been a member of the Zoo for over 2 years, its the best gym in the Savanah area. It is very clean and modern, staff is friendly and professional, and the 24 hour access works perfectly. The equipment is well-maintained and promptly fixed. The owners always do an excellent job.

Been a member for just over a year. I really appreciate a locally owned gym...The owners are engaged and helpful..... I turned 65 a few months back. They instructed me that I might want to join "Silver Sneakers" a program thru Medicare....Great suggestion on their part

The gym itself is very well maintained. The staff is friendly. Constantly new equipment coming in.

Now for the cons :
The campers. The gym has posted signs throughout but rarely enforced. I've personally been lifting at the gym for an * hour plus *, and folks still on the sole cable machine(s) and squat racks. Some often patrons will do one set then roam around the gym - talking to others - and not clear the rack. Very frustrating.

The air runners constantly do not have new batteries along with the rowers.

I want to start by saying, I rarely take the time to do reviews. After my experience with The Zoo Health Club, I felt it was my duty to share my experience. My family and I had the pleasure of visiting Savannah last week. The house we stayed in came with access to The Zoo Health Club while we were there. My husband and I decided to check it out. Let me say it was a wonderful experience. We have frequented many gyms while we are traveling. The Zoo Health Club has by far been the best one so far. It was exceptionally clean and Covid-19 compliant. Our temps were checked upon entering and we were given our own personal sanitizer bottles. Being in healthcare for many years, I cannot begin to express what a big deal that was for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a great workout with updated equipment, I highly recommend that you check out The Zoo Health Club.

Great gym. Equipment is great and place is well kept. My issue is management. Keep in mind I joined this gym very near opening. I signed a 1 year contract and was never told that once the year is up, the Zoo automatically re-signs you on a monthly basis and continues to charge you. Who does that?? Crooks. I found this out because my zip code changed because I moved 30 minutes away from the gym. The automatic draft from my account stopped happening. Turns out, the Zoo Gym Savannah will allow your bill to be ran up 3 months and 10 late fees later...I finally figure it out because paramount collections is calling me instead of the actual gym manager. Does that seem like a manager who manages the membership of his members? That answer is no. Courtesy call maybe? I called two different Zoo Gym Savannah employees and all they could say was "Uhhh..call paramount, we can't do anything. Keep calling back until Ron is here." So, just a heads up if you plan on signing here. I never once missed a payment. Read every word of that contract and don't get finessed. They only give a damn until you sign that contract lol.
