Before discovering Tidewater Fitness, I struggled with maintaining a consistent workout routine and felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of conflicting fitness advice online. This inconsistency and confusion significantly affected my ability to find a workout regime and to stay motivated.
Since joining, the personalized training programs and expert guidance from Jarred have been game-changers. He tailored workouts to my specific needs, helping me build strength and endurance steadily. As an example I had recently “recovered” from wrist surgery which led to me injuring myself and experiencing setback after setback when going to a gym on my own. Jarred built my strength up slowly over time and I was able to get back to my usual weights. Not once have I experienced an injury here.
I've seen remarkable improvements in my fitness levels, and energy, making a noticeable difference in my daily life.

Before beginning my training with Tidewater Fitness, I was struggling to lose weight on my own and lacking motivation to exercise with my busy work schedule. I was feeling tired all the time and knew I needed to find a trainer that could work with my schedule and a program that would keep me engaged. I found Tidewater fitness by recommendation of a friend. I have been working with Jarred at Tidewater Fitness for 7 months now and I’m thrilled with the results I’ve seen. Jarred listens to any concerns I have about limitations with injuries and always puts together thoughtful sessions that change every month so you never get bored. I had a brief period of weight loss plateau and after a conversation with Jarred, we were able to make a plan and get back on track within a week. So far, I’ve lost 24 pounds and three inches off my waist. In addition to the weight loss, I am feeling stronger and healthier overall, find that I have more energy, and have increased my mobility. This program has truly improved my quality of life and I am grateful to be apart of it.

I've been in personal training before and can honestly say Jarred is one of the best trainers I've ever worked with. His facility is great and he is highly attentive to clients even when working with up to 3 at a time. He places a strong emphasis on form and movement over increasing weight to prevent injury which I greatly appreciate. His prices are extremely reasonable. He has helped me achieve goals I generally didn't think I'd be able to.

When I first met with Jared at Tidewater Fitness for our consultation I told Jared that the number one problem I was having was being held accountable in my fitness plan. The desire to better myself physically was there, but the execution on my part was not. In the two years prior to training at Tidewater I could see a steady decline in my lower body, core strength, and cardio. I had put on 50lbs out of nowhere and was really starting to see the effects in the outdoor activities that I like to enjoy during my spare time. In our meeting Jared showed me how we were going to target those areas specifically and work towards my goal of being in better shape for an upcoming hunting trip in Montana that I would have that fall. After about a month and a half of training one day a week, a spot opened for me to begin twice a week sessions. That is when the results really started to show. Jared's detailed approach and individual specific approach really started to make me feel the success not only physically but mentally as well. I could feel my body beginning to change and change for the better. Fast forward 10 months and I have gone from 232lbs to 207lbs but more importantly I could see the results in real time when I dominated the mountains in Montana. I can say without a doubt that I could not have done the trip I did this past year without training with Jared at Tidewater Fitness. He does an incredible job of helping his clients identify what their realistic goals are and then devising a plan to attack those goals and turn them into achievements. Thank you Jared!!

When I started my fitness journey, I found that my biggest roadblocks were just getting started. Understanding what I needed to do to reach my goals and staying consistent. I also felt like I was not getting results fast enough, which was frustrating, particularly when the numbers on the scale went the wrong way.
Jarred at Tidewater Fitness really helped with all of that. He worked with me to develop a weekly plan of nutrition targets and exercise habits that were easy to comprehend and fun for me to complete. Also, through weekly accountability check-ins Jarred helped me stay positive and on track. When there were weeks that I didn’t hit a goal or target, Jarred was there to help me stay focused on the end game. He helped me understand that changes do not happen overnight. And instead of chastising me when I had a setback (and there were many!), he made me feel better about them, which gave me the confidence I would need to refocus. He also helped answer the many questions I had about fitness, nutrition, and at times, he helped explain how even though life can sometimes interfere with our goals, those moments are temporary, and my goals are still obtainable.
Tidewater Fitness no doubt has made my life better. Jarred has helped change the way I think about what is possible and to not be so hard on myself. It is clear now, thanks to Tidewater Fitness, that my journey doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be started. If there is a bump in the road, that is okay, just keep going. Tomorrow is always a new day that will bring me closer to my goal!
Working with Tidewater Fitness has helped me loose over 20 pounds!!! But more importantly than the weight I think, is the knowledge, understanding, and confidence I gained through our time. I will forever be grateful. Thank you Jarred. Thank you, Tidewater Fitness. 10 Stars!!!!!

Prior to working out with Jarred at Tidewater fitness, I struggled with core strength and proper techniques/body mechanics for doing basic daily tasks. This weakness, combined with fear of injury, kept me from getting out and doing not only the necessary things in life but also the fun things. I have worked with Jarred for over two years now. He has patiently and methodically increased my strength, flexibility and confidence. It has dramatically improved my ability to perform daily activities and my sports pursuits. I've always been an extremely active person, but as I got older I realized walking, biking, kayaking weren't enough to maintain the muscle strength I wanted and was actually losing. The individualized coaching with Jarred has been the key to creating a weight training habit and developing the strength I want. He's beyond professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. His facility is clean and comfortable. COVID19 forced a pause on our in person training sessions and he quickly provided an at home alternative via the Trainerize app. My training program was individualized and doable at home, making it easy to keep up with the progress we had made. Before going to Tidewater Fitness I struggled with my weight as I was very obese and was very frustrated because on my own I simply could not lose the weight. I became very unfavorable in the eyes of my spouse not to mention in my own eyes. Jareds' personal customized approach to my goal of fitness through weight loss and improved stamina has allowed me to lose 30 pounds and waist decreased by 4.5 inches in 6 months. The key to this is not just seeing him but also taking his advice of having a lifestyle that includes a proper diet and workouts (that he customized) on my own time. With that said I can still have "vacation" days (meaning I can eat what I please) because I have (with Jareds' help) truly changed my lifestyle. I'm 63 years old and know what I'm supposed to do, however, without a personal trainer like Jared I simply would not do it! He is the difference. Thank you Jared.

My biggest struggle with weightloss was consistency and lack of intrinsic motivation. I couldn't stick with exercise let alone healthy eating habits. I was so frustrated and stressed with major late night cravings. It was affecting me mentally, I just wasn't strong enough to overcome. My stomach was my biggest focus area. Jarred's program helped because he kept it simple and he even sends reminders. He asked me to keep two new habits and that was all I had to focus on. I feel empowered now; over defeating cravings and I feel set free from the vicious cycle. In just 90 days I've lost 11 pounds and my waist has decreased by 2 3/4 inches. I definitely recommend him because he wants to see you succeed, he is patient, kind, and flexible with your schedule. Let Jarred help you!

Jarred was/is great! I went to him for just two months, and I only stopped because I moved with work(and once things settle down I fully intend to do his online program.) My biggest issue was motivation, which becomes a slippery slope. The longer I stayed out of the gym the harder it was to get back. Finally I had enough and decided I needed to do something about it, luckily I reached out to Jarred.
First and foremost Jarred was super flexible and willing to work with my hectic schedule as things changed daily. Another great thing about the work outs were they weren't too long, instead of 3 hours on the treadmill a day we could knock out a session in 45 minutes. Without these benefits I never would have been able to make the progress I did. I went two days a week(when I could make it) and the changes were obvious. The work outs were intense but he worked with me to find what mix worked best. Not only did I lose 9 pounds, while putting on muscle, I dropped 2 inches around my waist and lost a total of 6% body fat. This directly affected every part of my life, from energy level, to confidence level to overall quality of life. After the program my weekends weren't filled with netflix anymore but with social outings, hikes and dog park or beach days(Netflix was still there when I would get home at night).
I'm not a common reviewer, but credit where credit is due.

Very professional and knows the science and correct techniques.
I trained with Jared for about a year after have trained many personal trainers before. I learned quite a few new stretches, exercises and techniques because of his passion for how the body all works together. I highly recommend checking if our for yourself if you are a novice at weight training and just want to get stronger or an athlete needing more structure.

After trying for over a year to lose weight and get in shape on my own, I decided to do some research on personal trainers. I reached out to Tidewater Fitness after reading all of the rave reviews he had received online. This was two weeks ago. Fast forward to today...14 days later, and I have already lost 4 pounds as well as 1.25 inches around my waist!! In only two weeks!! I also have more energy not only during my workouts but throughout the entire day as well. I couldn’t be more thrilled with theses quick, yet healthily achieved, results and I look forward to continuing to crush my goals through Jared’s focused coaching sessions and personalized training plan. Before I found Jarred at Tidewater Fitness, I was working out in the gym, and trying to make do on my own. I was doing ok. But, I lacked any structure and consistancy.
struggled to gain any ground in my fitness goals, and decided to give personal training a try. Jarred's attention to detail, and showing me proper form, had me able to perform challenging routines and stay motivated.
The online program, and mobile app, changed everything. I went from working out three days a week to five. It is so easy when you have your trainer right there with you on your phone.
My workouts, and Jarred's encouragement, helped me release the stress of daily life. He has been my biggest cheerleader. I am stronger and more fit than I have ever been. Even though I have moved out of the area and away from Tidewater Fitness, I continue to use Jarred as my trainer. He has adapted my routines to my new workout situation. I highly recommend Jarred English and Tidewater Fitness.

Jarred is excellent! I turned to Tidewater Fitness online because I felt myself getting out of shape and though I had all of the pieces I needed around me, I struggled to find a program that offered variation, met my specific goals, fit around my work schedule, and held me accountable. The online program allows me to work on my fitness whenever I need to wherever I need to. Every single exercise has a written description and video demonstration so I'm never lost, and if I need a modification Jarred is only a message away! In three months I feel more confident, fit my clothes better than I have in a year, and see a remarkable change in my composition while losing nearly ten pounds and 4.5 inches off of my waist. Having moved to Savannah recently I was looking for a trainer to work with me who would be able to meet the high standards that I had enjoyed at my previous fitness facility. After much research, I found Tidewater Fitness and its proprietor, Jarred English. Jarred has more than lived up to my high expectations. Tidewater Fitness is a very clean, comfortable, and friendly place, and Jarred is professional, attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. He provides the highest level of strength and conditioning training and general health fitness exercise program. In 3 months at Tidewater I was able to cut my waist by 2 1/2 inches and shed 10lbs. The workouts are definitely challenging but yet are fun. Jarred is very knowledgeable about all aspects of fitness and nutrition. I honestly cant say enough great things about him and Tidewater. I lost 16 pounds in 4 months. Within the first 2 weeks l lost 5 pounds. I've struggled for a year to keep the weight off. I linked up with Jarred and he told me exactly what was causing my issues. I am so glad a friend recommended Tidewater Fitness. About 12 years ago I managed to lose 45 pounds, but the weight has come back on +5 pounds and just 6 weeks ago I hit a weight I just couldn’t tolerate. Last year I had tried dieting alone and just couldn’t lose much. Even adding in some walking didn’t help. It was discouraging watching my slim friends enjoying eating and drinking and not seeming to gain any weight. I really needed to lose weight and get into shape because I was starting to notice mobility issues occurring, like not being to get up off the floor without hanging onto a table.
Jarred has a great balanced and very personalized approach. He understood that I was a person, who has spent her career in the food industry, so we started making some simple adjustments to my diet, that I volunteered and that I could stick too. Then we started working out 2 times a week. Again he tailored the program to my age and abilities. Happily results are happening at a good steady sustainable pace. At the end of week 5 I had lost 7 pounds and 2-1/4 inches off my waist. I feel like my core is strengthening and am enjoying my ballroom dance lessons more. Also, much to my delight, I am getting up off the floor without the assistance of the furniture.
I know it will take a year to reach my ultimate weight and fitness goals and I will continue on with Jarred because I know that he will help me to maintain the new me. He has been a great motivator in the kindest and most supportive way. I am 63 and I believe that this fitness program will definitely help me enjoy for many years the beautiful walkable city to which I have retired and many a happy meal with new friends. After two months of working with Jarred twice a week, I have significantly improved strength and have begin to "reallocate assets." In my case, that means 2.5 inches off my waist!
Jarred keeps workouts varied -- no boredom here! He is sensitive to physical limitations I have as a result of previous injuries and diminished strength.
